First ryokan experience - Love it!”
We checked into the hotel quite late at night. Was kinda sad because we arrived nikko later than expected and i thought we were gonna miss the dinner.. but to our pleasant surprise the staff actually kept the food aside and set it up for us, even though it was about 2h past the stated dinner time! The traditional dinner (and breakfast too) was SO amazing - gotta try it to get the full ryokan experience!! Staff are genuinely welcoming and very very helpful. Hot spring was 10/10, as expected, we went there every. single. night. (and maybe the mornings too) It's definitely not the cheapest/ most affordable ryokan in nikko but honestly, this place is worth my every dollar spent. So damn glad we chose to stay here - highly recommended for those visiting nikko, especially if it's your first ryokan stay.

Great ryokan”
Fantastic place to stay right on the Kunugawa river with excellent onsens. Highly recommend. Non smoking room did smell a little of smoke, but we were happy to be on the top floor with a great view, so that cancelled out the smell especially when we opened the balcony doors. Rooms are dated but comfy and quirky and great value for money.

Great Hotel to try Japanese Style Bedding & Meal Place, Great Private Hot Spring (not in hotel room)”
It was good to have "one night" satisfying 3 new experience: Japanese Style Bedding/Room, Japanese Style Meal/private Japanese Style Room/Restaurant/Seating, & Japanese Style Hot Spring. There is no private hot spring within each hotel room; however, there are great free Japanese Style (indoor and outdoor) Public hot spring (separate male vs female: no swim suit allow); or for a small price, rent a private hot spring (great style) for 50 minutes. After all, I think it is good enough not to have private hot spring within room if you can rent one within the hotel: you cannot stay in hot spring for that long anyway. The hotel is a bit old, but that is part of the experience for Japanese Style setting. The place is clean and the view to the river is great.

Great Intro to Traditional Japanese Hotel”
If you're looking for a good alternative venue to spend the night in Nikko, then I highly recommend this place. Located at Kinagawa Onsen, the location is a 30minute train ride away from the main Nikko Station. This is ideal if you want to enjoy the hotsprings around the area. I'll never forget the Japanese hospitality shown by the staff of this hotel. They waited for me to begin cooking my food even if i'm late for 1 hour! Something beyond comparison. Will definitely reco to my friends going in the area next time.

We stayed in hotel for a night. Staff does not speak English but is helpful and has translations to help out. We tried traditional dinner and it was great experience at hotel. 10 course meal is definitely something to try out. Spa is fun and relaxing. We tried their massage and the lady came to our room even late at night and was excellent. Definitely nice hotel to experience the traditional royakan hotel in Japan.

Excellent customer service. Although the hotel is not close to the train station, the excellent customer service and confortable onsen made up for the inconveniences of the location. Anyway you can take the hotel shuttle from the station directly to the hotel

スタッフの態度もサービスも素晴らしく、気持ちの良い滞在でした。食事は見た目少し少なく見えましたが、実際に食べ終わると満腹で構成も良かったです。温泉は無味無臭で硫黄が好きな自分には物足りないかと思いましたが、無味無臭だからこそ何度も長時間も入浴を楽しめました。大浴場の雰囲気も良く、窓から見える鬼怒川や山の景色も最高で癒されました。食べたかったかりんとう饅頭屋(まんじゅう処おおあみ)も徒歩で行ける範囲にあったことは想定外のプラスポイントでした。

お風呂もお部屋もきれいにされていて気持ちよく過ごすことができました。 事前にお願いしたところサプライズでケーキを出していただけて大変ありがたかったです。 ただ、お部屋のトイレだけは、どうしても古臭いにおいが強く気になってしまいました。

夫婦で滞在したが、全体的に良いホテルであった。特に食事が美味しかった。出汁等もキチンと作っており、化学調味料が気になるホテルとは全く別で、板さんがかなり拘っているなと感じました。また、給仕される仲居さんも親しみやすく、丁寧な応対で一層食事が美味しく感じた。また、行きたいホテルです。

ロケーションがとても素晴らしく、お部屋のはめ込みの大きな窓が額縁となり、山々の紅葉が素晴らしい画になりました！季節を感じる素敵な時間を過ごさせていただきました。 この日はたまたま 山から花火が上がり、お部屋の窓枠いっぱいに大きな花火を目の当たりにし感動しました。 お風呂も貸切風呂をお借りして、オシャレなお風呂でゆったりと出来、ご飯も個室でしたので静かに贅沢な時間となりました。 彼氏へのサプライズをお願いしたホールケーキも可愛くて、とてもとても喜んでくれ大満足の温泉のプレゼントとなり、柔らかなスタッフ皆様に感謝です。 ありがとうございました。
