great value, great staff”
For a cheap hotel, Silver Moon has great quality. It is clean and the staff speaks good English. They were very helpful in arranging taxi, bus, laundry, etc. Big thanks! The area is very busy, you either may like it or not.
It was OK for 1 night”
I stayed here for a night before my long train ride going to Trivandrum. I got the solo room with fan. It was located at the 4th floor and in a very very busy area. I'm not sure if it is their market area but there are lots of people outside and not so much places to eat. There is one grocery store they pointed me at the back of the hotel but they do not sell much. Street next to the hotel have street food but you can't find other decent places to eat nearby.
Do not stay here! ”
This hotel is very unsafe for western tourists. It is also above a factory and the rooms smell very badly of petrol. We didn’t end of staying here as we felt so unsafe!
Not worth it”
The price was low, so we don't expect luxury. But... Rooms were small, stinks, there was mold/fungus everywhere. There was unbearbly hot and noisy. A lot od ants were walking though the bed , ten the lizard came out... After the cocroach we Ask for a other room. The second room was free of creatures and fungus, so IT was ok.
Dingy building but nice rooms”
This hotel is located in an industrial building but the hotel has an elevator that will bring you up to its floor and the reception and rooms are in good condition. The location is not super close to the main attractions but it's quite close to the street food alley off of Mohammed Ali Rd., on Ibrahim Merchant Rd. The room we stayed in was pretty spacious and had its own private bathroom, which is always nice. The wifi was decent by my recollection. You can walk up the stairs to get a view from the rooftop if you're brave enough. We would stay again.
Great value for money in Mumbai!!!”
Very nice place to stay. We didnt expect too much because Mumbai is very expensive and we saw only bad reviews of other places. This place is very clean, staff very helpful. The area is not very nice in the night, but is 200m from METRO. We receive much more than what we expect. Recommended 100%
Refrain from booking”
The hotel location is too bad and no civilized person would like to stay at this hotel. The room is not clean, water leakage in washrooms. Staff is good, price of hotel is cheap, but still won't recommend to anyone.
approximately 200 usd per day”
We had a short but nice stay at Silver Moon. It is a basic hotel with minimum facilities, like hot water, wifi, fan. Expect what you pay for. The street around the hotel is dirty and always busy, you can even hear people talking from your room. However the hotel is found in a good location, near train station. Hotel staff were helpful. Recommended for back-packers.
Good hotel in a not so good position.”
I wanted to stay in the center of Mumbai, maybe that was my mistake, however, on the good side, I walked around the city without taking transports, also because the traffic was crazy. I think the side of the city where chow patty beach is might be a bit more tourist friendly. The area where this hotel is its not the ebst for tourists. However the room was great and the bed was very comfortable, great mattress, and that's kind of rare in India. I slept very well, Internet was good too. Overall it was a good choice, the street where the hotel is packed with people so taxis might not arrive there but it's close to the main road and very close to a train station, so to get to the airport it was great, let's not mention though that there isn't a direct train for the airport, but that's not the hotels fault, that's Mumbai's duty to guarantee that service.
Cooperative staff.... I asked to boil milk at night 1 AM & they did it immediately... without bill.”
Hotel is good for taxi connectivity towards touring places... for local you need to go to the Dadar station then you will have train for anyplace.
damp small rooms with NO WINDOWS!! embedded in a post apocalyptic scenario
My second time here, everything is the same and it's been a nice discovery, since we love this place and the area in which it is. The staff is kind and friendly and the rooms - though small - are clean and the bed is comfy. Towels and toiletries provided.
We constantly needed to ask staff to turn on the hot water, no blanket available and room smelling. Staff was helpful whenever we requested some help, but they were not happy when we got in the middle of the night after a trip to Pune and we woke them up. 😞
One of the worst hotel. The room was smelling and some cockroaches were flying here and there. On the same day changed my hotel. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone.
The room we were first given was absolutely riddled with fleas. We told the staff and nobody seemed to care. We switched rooms to a thankfully bug free one. Wifi was strong and the rooms themselves were clean, but the corridors, stairs and hallway leading up the elevator are very questionable. People where screaming and running up and down the corridor all night. The staff were pretty indifferent to our existence. Pretty far out walk from the center.
Good.Staff very helful.Near to night market.
Awful neighbourhood! ”
Dirty and awful neighbourhood. The hotel itself is in a residentiel building which is absolutely filthy! The staff is nice though. Our room was ok at the most. The walls are so dirty. For that price, you can find much better in a nicer neighbourhood. Would never recommend this place.
