basic but good”

one of few hotels in Sumba can be booked online. basic facilities in basic room but just enough. good value. great food in restaurant. close to airport and provides free airport shuttle. reception can organise tours and car rental. WiFi is the strongest in restaurant area.

Great Losmen in Tambolaka”

June weather with cool air makes it feel like a mountain lodging. The compound itself is quite large, and as you walk around, you can see green expansive valleys/hills. Building layout definitely helps with views and air circulation. The difference between cheaper and more expensive rooms are not described well in online booking, or I would anytime choose rooms with views/air and hot water. Overall is one of the best stay in Sumba.

There are not so many options of accommodation in Tambolaka. I booked the cheapest room because other rooms were fully booked. There was no air-conditioner, hot water, complementary, tower, and only limited internet connection (by wifi). The other rooms were much nicer. If you are a traveler who needs a comfort room, I may suggest you do not choose the cheapest room for the convenient reason. Breakfast is really good.
