Family stay at Sinclairs”
The breakfast was very good and there was a variety of dishes both Indian and Continental. Staff were very attentive and pleasant.The 31st celebrations were good. I had a child in a wheelchair and we received help from staff members at all times.

Overall very good experience”
Hygenic, well-maintained and professionally managed. Courteous staff. Very prompt servce. Decent buffet spread in breakfast. New Year eve gala dinner was excellent. Tariff was on higher side but, I guess, that was due to festve period of new year. Only downsides are: Double/Premium rooms are too small, very steep approach road to hotel, no lift.

Good Location & Facilities, Service level is questionable”
The rooms are very comfortable & equipped with modern bathroom & running hot water (VERY IMP & SCARCE IN DARJEELING!). Loved the hotel, nice staff and location. It is of high standard for place like Darjeeling. Dinner was good too (wine i must say was overpriced even for a restaurant..double the retail price plus taxes😳)..we had a water pipe burst outside our room one of the night & our room was flooded! But we got moved to another room for that night & then moved to another room (Premier Room - as per our original booking) the next day. I understand incidents like pipe bursting is out of their control..but I feel like there should have been some sort of acknowledgment from the management (whether a small letter of apology or an amenity or comp dinner), however, this was treated like it never happened. Imagine waking up at 1am in the morning to a pool of water in your room! The night staff who came up to inspect was more worried about cleaning the floor then taking care of us (the guests) first! We had to remind him to move us to another room so we can sleep and then they can take care of the problem.

On bike trip in WB & Sikkim”
Took advantage of Diwali holidays to visit Darjeeling. Hotel is very well located just up and away from the buzz in the centre. The view of Darjeeling and Kanchenjunga from the shared balcony is stunning and I see no reason to travel to see sunrise on Kanchenjunga from Tiger Hill in case you stay here. Just to make an early morning on the balcony then crawl back into bed.

Better than many of the current reviews would suggest.”
Wanted a good quality hotel in Darjeeling, despite a few not very complimentary reviews I decided on Sinclairs. I was not disappointed, The hotel is very well run, spotlessly clean and the staff are wonderful. Good choice for breakfast, also I ate in the restaurant twice during my stay and was very pleased both times. One thing I would recommend is that even if Kanjenjunga is in cloud, the view from that side of the hotel is much better and worth paying the little extra for. The only complaint was that one night all of the public parts of the hotel were bitterly cold, although the bedroom was very warm.

Pleasant colonial stile hotel”
The view from the room, Kanchenjunga in a word. The staff trying to understand us as we speak only english (my bad).The table tennis table.Been a while but good fun..
Generally good . Slept well, lots of interest in and around the town. plenty of eating venues and Joeys bar to down a couple of beers. Down side is the access road could do with some upkeep (not their fault)

A very cold stay!”
The friendly staff, comfy beds and massage!
We had a fine stay at Hotel Sinclair. The staff are really friendly and the beds are divine! We'd Akkad highly recommend the in-house masseuse. However... the overriding problem was the lack of heating. It was freezing! And damp. Blankets are provided for the beds but the hotel was cold all day. And the doors and windows are constantly open. The road leading to the hotel is also steep and very bumpy/pot-holey. Not good if you've got elderly or less abled people in your party.

Good value for money”
Superb Room comfort & Cleanliness; Very helpful staff; Decent view of Kanchenjunga from the view facing rooms
My stay in Hotel Sinclairs, Darjeeling was excellent. After availing the discount of my accumulated points..the Hotel charges were very reasonable compared to its offerings. The visit period being off season, the hotel occupancy was low and the Hotel Manager offered to upgrade me to a better room with view at no additional cost. Complimentary Hot tea was offered on check in and the check in with luggage transfer to my room was very quick. Location wise it is good as located within 15 minutes walk from the Mall. However, the only drawback to this premium Hotel is the approach road off shooting from the main road..the road is quite steep, ill maintained and with pot holes...the hotel authorities can take over its maintenance on its own instead of relying on other authorities as well as make the approach with Hotel name plate with direction more visible / imposing..some light on this narrow passage would be required.

Chilly with no central heating.”
Attentive staff, breakfast, views.
Very attentive staff, but the hotel needs renovating - grubby and dirty walls need painting or new wallpaper. No central heater - only an electric heater which kept breaking down. Staff say the hotel will be renovated next year. I'd wait to stay there til after then. I give it 2 stars not 3!
