Nice hotel in a good location, but a bit pricy”
Hotel Sovereign Prague is an older-style traditional hotel located close to the train station, Praha hlavni nadrazi. The check-in staff are friendly and speak English. There is a single lift and is old-style, where you have to operate the door yourself. The lift is small and only fits one person and their luggage at a time. There is a second lift, but it appeared to only be available for emergency purposes. My room on the 1st floor had an extremely high ceiling (about 15 feet or 4.5 metres by my estimation). You will almost never find this feature in more modern hotels, and it gave the room a more voluminous feeling to it. Note that if the card is removed from the cardholder beside the exit, the room lights will not work! It took me a while to figure this out. In terms of the location, the hotel is within a short walk of Praha hlavni nadrazi, the train station, which is convenient if you are arriving/departing by train. The station also provides access to the Metro C line, for easy access to tourist attractions. In the opposite direction, it is a short walk to Wenceslas Square. Free breakfast is included for hotel guests and the buffet breakfast is excellent. There is plenty of hot food, fruits, baked goods and beverages. In terms of room for improvement, the hotel was a bit on the expensive side - I was expecting a bit more for this price. The hotel restaurant (Mr. A.) was closed for 3 of the 4 nights that I was there (10 Jun 2017 - 12 Jun 2017) - hotel guests do get 10% off at the restaurant. In the room itself, the water in the shower takes about a minute to warm up. I would consider staying here again, but I would also shop around to see if there are less expensive alternatives in the area.
Excellent choice”
Conveniently located between the railway station and Wenceslas Square, the Sovereign Hotel offers comfortable, high-ceiling rooms within a high-end atmosphere. Breakfast was varied and ample, the attached restaurant was welcoming and there is an excellent traditional pub-restaurant directly opposite. It is possible to walk to all attractions from the hotel and Prague is a delight to walk through. The staff are friendly and helpful with Alicia and Alexandra on the front desk being excellent examples. We were extremely happy with our selection of the Sovereign, so much so that we extended our stay. Great value, nice people and a classy place to stay. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
A nice hotel near the Prague main train station ”
Stayed in Prague for two nights first, then travelled to Cesky Krumlov for another two nights, then got back to Prague for one more night. Had such plan was due to the weather forecasted a sunny day then a snowing day in CK. It was great that two different sceneries I could experience in CK! And returned to Prague for one more night was to prepare the early morning flight next day. As I had arrived Prague at around 11:30, the hotel staff had let me check in. They were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The room was clean and spacious. The buffet breakfast provided plenty of choices and it was great! The hotel is close to the Prague main train station, it saved my time and money to just walk there for catching a train or airport bus. I'll recommend this hotel to friends.
Lovely hotel in great area, good breakfast, problems at first but fixed for us in a good way”
We liked this hotel. There were some problems with our room at first as can happen in any hotel, here the Hotel Manager listened to us and fixed the problem quickly, he gave us very good customer service and we were happy his solution so we enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was good and the hotel was very clean, the cleaners always had a nice smile and did a very professional job. The receptionist who checked us in was extremely helpful and friendly all through our stay, I think her name was Alexandra, she was a pleasure to deal with. I recommend the restaurant of this hotel too but it would have been better for us if the restaurant staff spoke a little more English. We would recommend this hotel and will return next time we visit Prague.
Exceptional”
we had a nice stay, by far this was th best hotel we've stayed in europe. the room is big, breakfast was amazing, with good choices such as cold cuts, bacon, sausages, fruits, different type of cheeze, beans, and a choice of omelet/hard boiled/sunny side up egg, it is very near with tourist attractions, we just walked from the hotel to prague castle, thats how near it is as long as your use to walking. there are good money changer near the hotel. the staff were nice and friendly, room is clean, i just hope they have more english channel in tv though this does not bother us too much, the hotel is also easy access from the airport we took the airport express bus and alight at the main station and walk to the hotel, will definitely come back someday
Great stay at the hotel ”
Love the hotel it is 15min away from railway station. 10-15 min walk to the old town and Charles bridge. My wife and I love our 2night stay in Prague. Strongly recommend for this hotel. The breakfast is good. If I come back to Prague I will stay here. Good job to the hotel staff and management. We love Prague
Great location, great value”
Very very nice hotel, loved the location, although about a 12 minute walk to the nearest subway station, if that's important to you. One of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed at, and everything worked. Breakfast was good, but a few things missing like cooked ham, juices were not chilled. I didn't see much security at the front door, really anyone can just walk in and walk right up to the rooms. they do lock the front door at night, so after hours, you ring the bell. Very spacious bathroom, friendly staff. It was quite warm when I was there, and the air conditioning might not be strong enough for some, but it was unusually warm weather, so I wouldn't worry too much. There is a 24 hour convenience store around the corner which is nice. Good choice and good value in Prague.
Awsome hotel”
I feel that what seperates a good hotel from a great hotel is in the details. In this case this is a great hotel. Good AC that was not to intrusive and loud, very clean hotel, good location. Close enough to the center but not to close so I did not hear any noice from the streets. Also great and helpful staff and a very nice breakfast that was included in the price. I will use this hotel again next time i visit prague!
Great Hotel in Prague with the best staff!!!”
Love this lovely medium sized boutique hotel! The staff service was just amazing! Thank Irene, Orest, Adam in the reception desk. Irene was so kind to help me in lending me the adaptor and my phone charger which I had forgot to bring with me. Also her introducing the restaurant nearby served great food. The breakfast served by the hotel was also nice with lots of choice and sweet staff. Lastly but not the least, my warmest regards to the kind housekeeper for her hard work. I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who plans to visit Prague!!!
Better than expected”
Everything was good, location, breakfast, room was comfortable, although the walls looked abit dirty. During check out, we were told that we drank a bottle of water and had to pay for it. We didn't drink anything from the mini bar so we refused to pay for it. It took a little time to settle and we were in a hurry to catch a train, except that incident, the hotel added positively to our nice time in Prague.
Great Location, Very Comfortable!”
The hotel is located a few blocks from Wenceslas square. Very good location for walking to all the sights. The beds were very comfortable and the facility was very adequate. It's located away from all the noise, so you will sleep fine. I was beyond impressed with the breakfast selection. So many options! I would definitely recommend staying at Hotel Soveirgn Prague.
Hidden Gem!”
We were only here for one night, but would definitely come back for a longer stay and also recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Prague. All our needs were attended to and the breakfast was far beyond expectations. The location, while very central, was very quiet and within walking distance to the train station.
Wonderful location with good breakfast”
the location is good and foods are delicious with cheap price. the room is quite clean. the only thing we're not satisfied is hotel wanted to charge us extra euro for 2nd people, even i have reserved double room, but hotel said only max 1 people could stay, the 2nd one should pay extra. fortunately, under the help of bookings and agoda, sovereign exempt the extra fees. therefore, we enjoy warranty offered by agoda and bookings and will reserve hotel via them in future
Perfect ”
Lovely hotel right in the center of Prague city, everything is in walking distance, minutes from 'Museum' Metro station. Fabulous breakfast included in price and very helpful staff, would definitely recommend!
Nice reasonable hotel in Prague”
This hotel was very close to the train station in Prague, so we didn't have to carry our backpacks far. Check in was a breeze and breakfast was included and the best included breakfast on this trip! so much variety! all kinds of yogurt, granola, muesli, meats, breads, pastries! something for everyone!
Great location and comfort in Prague.”
This place is close to Prague Central train station and a great value for money. The room is quite big, and very clean. For the price I paid, I am quite surprised with the luxury level I got. Better still, it's a 10 walk away from the old town square, meaning I needed no public transport during my 2-night stay there.
Brilliant location. Not far from wencles square. A little further to old town but very walkable. ”
Hotel was in a great location. Within easy reach of all pragues attractions. Breakfast was delicious. No need for anyone to leave hungry. Our room didn't have a nice view (overlooked the back of our hotel) but didn't bother us as we were hardly in the room. The cleaner didn't come in at all one day. I'm not sure the air con would have been good enough if it had been hot weather. Luckily we got very mixed weather for the time of year. I would return to the hotel agin but probably mention air con if it's the same. Hotel staff can't do enough for you. They are all very polite and friendly.
Nice hotel !”
very spacious and comfortable room. excellent breakfast (far much better than another 4-star hotel in Prague that I stayed after this hotel). within walking distance to old town (around 15-20 min's walk) 8 min's walk to main train station and metro.
5 STAR”
THE BEST.. FROM THE TIME I CHECK IN TO THE TIME I CHECK OUT. WONDERFUL STAFF. LOVELY ROOM. SPACIOUS. THE BREAKFAST BUFFET SPREAD WAS GOOD. I WAS SAD TO LEAVE. THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF THAT MADE MY STAY WONDERFUL. WILL FOR SURE STAY HERE IF I COME TO PRAGUE NEXT TIME
Fantastic central location”
Very nice hotel centrally located in Prague. I primarily picked it because I had a very early morning train connection (and the hotel is very close to the main train station). Highly recommend it.
