Property under construction. Avoid for a few months. ”
The Good : The location is top class. The property can't host too many people. So you'll never feel like you're in a hotel teeming with people) The staff is courteous and attentive. The Bad The elderly lady receptionist doesn't care for your problems. She only nods her head. The manicured lawns were dug up, as was such an eyesore. The property is undergoing serious renovation. Woke up to the sound of heavy machinery everyday. The property is in a state of serious disarray (Flush didn't work, windows didn't close properly) There were mosquitos in the room when we checked in. The rooms are misrepresented on the site. Don't ask for a delayed check out. They will say they have bookings, but the rooms were empty.

the lowest possible”
Absolutely disgusting – the room was specious, but the bathroom was horrific – dirty, moldy and very worn out. After spending 2 hours we said that we had to leave due to the state of the property. The lady at the reception did not want to give us any refund, she made us to pay even for AC that wasn’t working. Also, she said that she didn’t care if we were to put a complaint or not! Terrible service

Very good value for money however the room and some other parts of the hotel are in need of updating/repair. Lovely 1930s architecture and some 30's original furniture (please don't get rid of these!). Two excellent restaurants on-site. Loved the hotel peacock.

Don't judge a hotel by its photos”
This property has definitely failed to keep up with the modern times when there are much better properties that provide value for money. We felt deceived between what was seen as pictures during the booking and the reality of the hotel. Two families and one updgraded to a so called ‘deluxe suite’ paying an extra thousand rupees from what was originally ‘executive’ because of the alarming state of the room that had poorly maintained walls, broken plug points etc. Nothing was executive about the room which adorned only an old colour television box and no electric kettles or instant coffee mixes, tea bags etc… which are normally now a norm in hotels at this range. The first family to step in was lucky to get an upgraded to a better room that was available however. The female receptionist wasn’t all that cordial for what her industry would represent, and only an exception among the other staff who were in the hotel who weren’t quite like her. Take it or leave it guys. Nobody forces you to.

Used to be good ...”
This was a great place once but it's run down and needs maintenance and repair. the complimentary breakfast is served in the cafe next door that has a wonderful a la carte menu but the one provided for the Sunderban Hotel is most often inedible, The staff are lovely but the manager only appears for half an hour or so a day so very hard to catch.

Charming but could use some tlc”
Sunderban is a charming older hotel in Koregaon park. It is a very convenient location if you are planning to spend time in the Osho Meditation resort. The rooms are reasonably clean and beds are comfortable. The place could use some tlc (chipped paint, mold in bathroom, funky fixtures etc). Breakfast is included in the price, but all you get is some pieces of toast, cornflakes and milk and chai. Internet is weak and slow.
