    Value for money”

Good value for money if your budget is tight and you wish to stay for a long period of time in Osaka. The hotel is also located near a train station. The room is comfortable enough but you need to share the toilet/shower.

    Okay for price”

The hotel is old and walls are not clean. Surprisingly, the bed is clean and no bugs. Saw NO roaches at all. The bath is Japanese style single sex but they have showers. There is a kitchen but utensils are a problem. When you leave or use the bath, they require you to turn in the key. The place is a little dreary but it beats a capsule. Most travelers are from other parts of Asia. Communication by English works overall. They do provide information in several languages for tourists via pamphlets. Your room has a fridge and there is also a larger shared fridge in the kitchen. There is cold and hot water too. The bathrooms smell a little, but they are not dirty. If you have money, stay elsewhere. But if you want a cheap place without bugs (I saw absolutely none and I am mortified by roaches), this place is fine. Checkout is a little early at 10am but they let me in early afternoon,no charge. Wifi is hit and miss, but generally working with minor interruptions. It's free.

Half of the staff need to be fired immediately, and the other half are good. To be honest, in Japan, a good manger would have never hired these staff. There are at least five options for a few hundred yen more a few feet away. It’s better to wait a year for the bad staff to be changed before coming to the hotel.

    Worth the money”

Hotel Taiyo has a great location. It's just a couple of minutes walk to the subway and a few minutes going to the JR Shin-Imamiya Station. There are food places and convenience stores near the place. The hotel staff are very kind and accommodating. The check-in and check out were very easy. The hotel place is old so do not expect something fancy. Maybe if they could add another elevator that would be better and shower rooms. Although they have a public bathroom,it will be better if they have nore shower rooms. As far as I know they only have 5 for the whole hotel. They are on the 1st to 3rd floor. They also have coin laundry and hair dryers on the 1st floor and a public space too. The twin room that we got has enough space for 2. Overall, I would recommend this to those who are on a budget.

If you want a good night sleep, I would recommend another location. I booked 2 nights, but left after the 1st night. No refund for 2nd night but it was too loud. The other guest bang their doors all night past 1am and early at 6am. Also loud outside street noise. But the guest noise is worse. Also room smell rotten or mold. And dirty room, lots of hair on the floor.

2nd time stay in this hotel. Great location. Few minutes walks away from JR station. Easy access to Umeda, Namba and Shin-Osaka via Midosuji line. Room is small as usual. But with that cheap price, there is really nothing to complain. Value for money.

Hotel is 1 minute away from Dobutsuen-mae station (exit 2). Walking distance from Abeno Harukas which is also pick up location for bus to Osaka Kansai airport and also Osaka Itami airport. We got a western style room and we got our own private toilet with sink in the room. Our floor also has shared toilets and sinks area. Shower rooms only on 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor but we were fine with that. There was Japanese style bath on first floor with different hours for men and women. Common area with kitchen available on ground floor. Shinsekai is 10 minutes walk away. Great area to look for kushikatsu.

well, what you pay is what you get. its not the cleanets of place, and the windows was super thin so the traffic, aircondition and other people kept us up at night. but the staff made up for it, they were super helpful and nice ^^ so what we paid for these 9 nights was worth it! but i dont reccomend going here if you have problems sleeping at night. its kinda noisy from all the cars and alarms outside.

(hand towel on the bed is smells bad ) shower is open for 24H. i love the bathroom is quite big and nobody used when i in. night shift receptionist are not friendly ,not bad. another receptionist next morning is respond with nice smile. although, this is good value and able to relax. i expected this is like GH in South East Asia that guest and staff are open minded to communicate each other. maybe it just was not that time when i was.

    Well-managed, super value-4-money”

I've just come back from very enjoyable holiday in Osaka, part of which is attributable to this Hotel because of 1) quietness - lots of Mandarin speaking Chinese people were spotted but all of them seemed to be very well behaved - maybe due to them being repeaters or well- seasoned, quite different from group-holiday makers from mainland China who are reputedly very noisy and bad-mannered. 2) Clean room w/a firm bed, mini fridge, cool/warm air-con, flat TV, free Wifi all well-maintained & total 6 shower rooms w/shampoo & conditioner equipped - all more than expected from THB 390.44 or USD 12.5 only overnight charge. 3) location, convenient to go every must-sees of Osaka/Kyoto, including walking-distance Shin-Sekai/Namba's hustle-bustle and Shin-Saibashi which offers all levels of (from Donqui to Chanel/Cartier) shopping experience. 4) the Hotel's staff are all friendly & courteous. Definitly wanna come back for my next holiday !

I've just come back from very enjoyable holiday in Osaka/Kyoto, part of which is attributable to this Hotel - 1) very quiet even w/lots of Mandarin-speaking Chinese visitors spotted - which I believe is due to the fact that these independently travelling Chinese (like those staying in Hotel Taiyo or other Dobutsuen-Mae/Nishinari budget hotels) are mostly repeaters & well-seasoned, who are quite different from fellow noisy & bad-mannered (reputedly) mainland Chinese group-holiday makers. 2) Clean room w/a firm bed, mini-fridge, warm/cool air-conditioner, flat TV - all well maintained, 6 shower rooms available 24/7 w/free shampoo/conditioner equipped, big/small towels & toothbrush, Japanese-style bathrobe - all more than expected from only THB 390.44 or USD 12.5 per night. 3) location, convenient to every major must-sees in Osaka/Kyoto, needless to say walking-distance Shin-Sekai and hustle-bustle Namba/Shin-Saibashi which offers all levels of shopping experience from Donqui to Chanel

    Just Nice”

It was golden week and when we booked and this was the best one we could find for our budget. Location is quite convenient as very near to a station and a lot of convenience stores nearby. It was our first time sleeping on a tatami mat but we had a quite comfortable and good sleep. Rooms are small and not much space to move around or place your stuff but overall it's a quite a convenient place to stay short term for budget travelers.

The other guest bang their doors all night past 1am and early at 6am. Also loud outside street noise. But the guest noise is worse. Also room smell rotten or mold. And dirty room, lots of hair on the floor.

    Recurring traveller”

2nd time stay in this hotel. Great location. Few minutes walks away from JR station. Easy access to Umeda, Namba and Shin-Osaka via Midosuji line. Room is small as usual. But with that cheap price, there is really nothing to complain. Value for money.

All round great choice, good location central to everything you want, even the 100 yen shop is on the map by hotel. Social room has a Nintendo 64 and many games so thank you. Also onsen is very good, but hours are biased for men, if you are women you need to wait until 9pm to use, a little inconvenient maybe.

    Old building but great location”

Stayed for 2 nights, paid AUD22 per night, had a single room. Toilets on every floor, showers only on the first 3 floors but never had to queue for them. Bath on the first floor, male from 5pm to 8:45pm, female from 9pm to midnight.

well, what you pay is what you get. its not the cleanets of place, and the windows was super thin so the traffic, aircondition and other people kept us up at night. but the staff made up for it, they were super helpful and nice ^^ so what we paid for these 9 nights was worth it! but i dont reccomend going here if you have problems sleeping at night. its kinda noisy from all the cars and alarms outside.

A bit old with basic facilities! Room has small ref and TV/ all Japanese shows. Shared washrooms don't have hot water. Suitable only for transient/overnight stays and for solo travelers/backpackers. Location is at best, walking distance from Shin-Imamiya Station/ Osaka Loop Line; Dobutsuen-Mae Subway and even Tennoji Station (transfer point to Kansai Airport). location and price are perfect. but receptionist are like business hotel”

i got discount price around 1200 yen which is low than avarage. so i m satisfied stay at with single room. i feel facility and room are old. but it cleaned up well.

Couldn't be better - well managed & super value 4 money”
