We stayed in a double bed room. We were there for 3 nights in our 15-day trip to Japan. Very modern and new feel to it and the hotel’s theme really set the mood for our trip. Very very nice. All I can say is despite the budget price, they had ALL the amenities we needed - which you can take as many as you need self-service at the lobby. So toothbrushes, toothpaste, shaver, ear buds, etc. In the rooms you find cups, nice shampoo, conditioner, soap. Amazing. The room is cozy but had a space to fit 2+ luggages under each bed, and enough space to lie 2 luggages out on the floor for packing. A side table and space for things. And above your head cup holders and a small space for small belongings. These 2 factors above combined, its superb value for money. It is very clean too. Bed sheets fresh and white. Toilets and towels very clean. I even purposely ran my finger over some surfaces and no dust. Very nice. Bed comfy with more than enough space for 2 people. Although we had to squeeze 2 beds together, which created a gap very easily during the night. Night gowns provided should you need. Shower is spacious and can fit 2 people (more if you wanted). Towels changed and room done every 3-4 days (from what I remember). Didn’t use the washing machines so can’t comment on that. In the common area, they have microwaves, free water dispensers, free coffee machines, free bread for breakfast, and luggage areas for when you’re out and about. They even screened sports and had a wide range of manga. WOW. The vibe it gave me was the best of both worlds – privacy should you want or a very good place to socialize too. Check in and out very smooth. Fully machine operated. Staff on hand and very helpful if you prefer manual too. We mainly communicated in simple English with no problems. Location is simply amazing. 1. This accommodation is very suitable for people with social anxiety, as you can choose your floor and room number through self-service. There is a large lounge on the third floor, which provides free tea and comic books. Many people chat and eat in the lounge in the morning and evening, creating a great atmosphere! 2. It is relatively close to the Kiyomizu-Gojo subway station, but if you take the subway from Kyoto Station, you can only go to Gojo Station and need to walk a bit. I found it a bit inconvenient when it was raining when I got off the station. 3. The attractions are within walking distance, but it is recommended to take a car between attractions to make the journey more comfortable!

Check in. Done through the kiosk which was quick. FREE Luggage keeper. Self service luggage cloak which is automated four large suitcases two duffel bags which is accessible free of charge by using a physical IC card. Don’t worry if you don’t have one the hotel will lend you one so let them know! Lobby. Available for use 24 hours with some limitations on the coffee server. Hot water is available 24 hours. Ice dispenser is available 24 hours. Microwave is also available for 24 hours. Tables in the lobby some of them have power outlets to use to charge a computer, phone or mobile battery. Rooms. Simple, clean, no strange odors, space available under the bed for large suitcases. The room does not feel cramped like typical Japanese hotels. Don’t hear much of the other visitors voices in the halls which makes it feel quiet and relaxing. Bathroom. Spacious for tall people with amenities like shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Shower water pressure is off the chart great! The hot water didn’t take long to warm the shower. Staff. Speak great English. They are very friendly and helpful and if you need anything they are very attentive to your needs as well as other visitors needs. Some of the room amenities are available in the lobby and free to take and use which is very convenient. Rental available. Room humidifiers are available to use which makes it comfortable to sleep as Japan weather content to be a little bit dry. Transportation. Traveling in Kyoto the bus is the main use of transportation. Once you step out of the hotel it is about a 22nd walk to the nearest bus stop. Supermarket. Diagonally across from the hotel is a 24 hour full grocery store. If you need more than a convenient store you can find what you need but souvenir gifts they don’t have that many unless you’re looking for something specific. Other things. There are a good number of visitors from other countries to stay and many of them spend a lot of time in the lobby with friends or family and often times you may find them eating noodles or something picked up from the convenient store which is on the first floor, which is extremely convenient!!! Overall the minimalist appearance and ambience of the hotel was a nice change and I will definitely stay again. I believe they also offer tours which have English-speaking travel guides but I didn’t have time to explore that option. If you’d like to read manga I believe that they also have a whole selection of different books available for you to read in the lobby.

Good hotel for a couple”
Nice and clean rooms. Only disadvantage is that there is no kettle in rooms and you have to go down to 3rd floor for hot water/ beverages. Location is excellent with bus stops 4 bus stops taking you to different parts of Kyoto. For people who smoke, Kyoto is a nightmare. Had to take a bus, to reach smoking area near hotel or it's a 14 mins walk. 7/11 is attached to the hotel and that's a great plus point. Washing machines are there on the 3rd floor and you can see the status of the machines from the tv in your room

I like this hotel; they have everything I need. Although there is no kettle in the room, the reception provides hot water, coffee, tea, and ice for you. The location is close to many tourist attractions, which is convenient if you want to visit the temples (Kiyomizu-dera, Hōkan-ji Temple (Yasaka Pagoda)) at 5 am before the crowds arrive, as they are within walking distance from the hotel. The train station is just across the bridge, making it easy to get around Kyoto, such as going to Gojo for shopping and wandering around. There is also a bus stop in front of the hotel with direct service from Kyoto Station, so you don't have to worry about your heavy suitcase. Plus, across the road, there is a 24-hour restaurant that is super cheap, so you can have a meal any time. Another plus is the nearby supermarkets, including 7-Eleven, Lawson, Family Mart, and Fresco. The downside is the cleanliness. I stayed there for 5 nights, and cleaning was provided on the 4th night. However, when I returned to my room after the cleaner had been, I found that it was not cleaned properly, as there was still a lot of dust above my bed near the window area and the sitting area. All the staff are lovely and happy to help on arrival. Overall, for my stay, I would love to be back again if I return to Kyoto in the near future, but the cleanliness of the room when cleaned should be improved.
