Average Japanese Business Hotel”

The hotel had fantastic reviews but it was just a simple business hotel. The staff was, however, extremely accommodating and many "freebees" (toothbrushes, packets of tea, etc.) were available. My main complaint was that, though I requested a non-smoking room, the room I stayed in was saturated with the stench of stale smoke. The only true non-smoking rooms at this hotel are on the 10th floor. Also, the hotel is on the "wrong side of the tracks", in a non-descript urban sprawl edge of town, just off a busy thoroughfare. The hotel does provide a map that allows you to walk to the train station through the back streets of a quiet residential section close to the tracks. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the station and then you have to cross to the other side (the south side) to get to the interesting part of town. The hotel was fine for a one-night stay, as long as you can tolerate the stale smoke smell of the rooms.

Having booked very short notice to do some sightseeing during a peak travel time, I was exceedingly pleased with how nice a hotel I got despite limited availability. The staff was very nice. The simple bread centric breakfast was really good. There were lots of materials in English about the hotel and he surrounding area, including a great map! There were lots of free amenities by request, like bike borrowing / cell phone chargers / humidifiers. Also you could rent a laptop or iPad for only 1000 yen a day! The double room even had a massage chair! One of the most unexpectedly nice hotels I've stayed in in Japan.

Two days before the stay, I realized that I made a mistake in the dates and hurriedly made a new reservation. Since the booking site had changed, I overlooked whether it was smoking or non-smoking and ended up reserving a smoking room. However, when I checked in, they kindly changed my room, which was a great help. The room was clean and tidy, and since I brought my laptop for work, the desk was spacious enough for comfortable work. There were also two types of pillows to choose from, which I thought was wonderful. Additionally, I was out at the site, so I was very grateful for the shoe shine service. As for the shampoo, some hotels have shampoos that make your hair rough, so I brought my own just in case. However, the shampoo here was not like that, and I was able to use it with peace of mind. The only minor drawback is that the unit bath is small, so when I sit on the toilet, my elbow hits the sink, and when I close the door, it feels very cramped. The bathtub is also too small to fully stretch my legs, and when I bend and soak, my knees come out of the water. But that can't be helped, so if you want to relax and soak in the bath, I recommend going to a super public bath. Despite these minor issues, I think it's a very good hotel.

I watched TV and wondered why the subtitles weren't turned on. Subtitles are a right for people with hearing disabilities. I won't go to that hotel!

シャワーヘッドが固定されない。”

泊まった部屋のシャワーヘッドとスタンドが合っておらず、シャワーヘッドが固定されずゆるゆる。そのせいでヘッドの向きを変えても手を離すと壁の方を向いて、使いづらかった。

立地が良く駅、コンビニや飲食店も近いので便利だった。

予約時の要求(禁煙ルーム）が満たされてなかった。朝食は多少オプションを増加してほしい。”

5日連泊のうち2日目の朝食約2時間経過後腹痛が出た。直接取った生ものは朝食にでたマカロニサラダだけなので、マヨネーズが原因だったかもしれない。以後サラダはとらないようにした。
