Still my "Go To" hotel in Budapest!”
The heater for the steam radiator failed in my rented flat in Budapest so I had to stay at Hotel Timon overnight and since it was a last minute reservation, there was one room left...room 108. I dreaded going to that room but was delighted to see that the proper seat cover had been installed! Because of that and the other pleasant experience with my previous stays there, I recommend the Hotel Timon to every traveler whether on a stopover or for business (free WiFi) or for the tourist.

I stayed once again in Hotel Timon as I had a late arrival from London into Liszt Ferencs Airport. I was given the same room and once again the receptionist was very helpful, the room was clean and the breakfasts are ample and delicious. But to my consternation, the toilet seat/cover had been replaced and the replacement was not correct. The toilet seat and cover when lifted would not stay up but since I was staying only 1 night until my trip to my rented flat outside of Budapest, it was a minor inconvenience. Upon checking out, I did tell the manager about the toilet seat/cover being a nuisance.

Quiet hotel in convenient location”
i had a wonderful stay at hotel timon. it was very convenient for me as it was just for 1 night as my flight arrived late and there was not enough time to catch my connecting flight out of liszt ferencs-ferihegy airport. the hotel is very close to the airport so the taxi did not have to battle the commute traffic the next morning. i arrived at the airport very late after a long transcontinental flight so i was very tired. the receptionist was very nice and she gave me the key. the room was small but clean...there was a refrigerator in the meeting area and she told me i could use it which was very nice. the area is very quiet! the bus stops there and a tram is within walking distance.there is also a convenience store that is open late 2 doors away.

A convenient, cheap option that doesn't leave much to be desired”
At such a cheap price, this hotel is a great choice when visiting Budapest. The reception staff is very helpful and friendly. Everyone understands and speaks English fluently. The room I stayed in was spacious, looked nice and was clean and tidy. The showers work well when it comes to adjusting temperature. Just across the street is a tram stop, from which line 50 takes you to Határ út, where Metro M3 (replaced by frequent buses at the time of my visit) is available, which takes you quickly to the Buda downtown. One disappointment I've experienced was that I was asked to spend the first night of my stay at a hostel room. My reservation was made over 8 months ahead of time, so it was a bummer finding my room not available. To make up for it, me and my friend were offered one free breakfast the next day and a four-person room all for ourselves. The main downside was that we had to use the communal bathroom, which only has one sink and the toilets don't have locks in the doors.

A bit basic, but you get what you pay for”
The hotel is very well priced for Budapest. You can get into the city centre by tram to Hatar ut, and get the metro. This takes a little while as the hotel is a bit far out, but not too long. It is handy that the hotel isn't too far from Nepliget bus station and the airport. We got a meter taxi to the airport from the hotel for just under 6000HUF, but this was when there was not much traffic. The staff were friendly and helpful. WiFi is fine. The room was very basic. bed and bed linen were awful. There was also no overhead fitting for the shower head. Only two plug sockets in the room. Also there was a large HiFi system on a TV stand that was too far away to plug in without rearranging the room. But that's what you get when you go budget.

Nice people, perfectly comfortable, but not a honeymoon hotel. Great if you get a good price and you're not there very long. Directly by a tram stop, very convenient for airport or central Budapest.

Good place to stay”
Everything was ok! Staff was friendly, rooms were clean. The hotel is 45 minutes ride (tram+subway) from the center, but very close to the airport. But wi-fi doesn’t work at the 3d floor.

Nice small hotel with friendly helpful staff”
I stayed at the hotel for one night. My sat nav led me straight to it but I didn't recognise it from its picture which didn't show the garage attached to the building. The staff on duty immediately made me feel welcome and were very helpful and friendly. My room was on the second (top) floor, was quite large, it had its own bathroom and was clean although a bit basic. I slept very well, heard nothing all night and woke refreshed. Breakfast was available but I should have booked it, they had packed it away because they did not expect anyone else (my mistake as it was on offer and I decided to wait till morning to decide whether to have it or not). Overall a pleasant experience and the room served its purpose, a good nights sleep before a long drive the next day.

I had to stay an extra night. I kept the same room and once again the receptionist was very helpful. Nobody had touched my bag with my juice and fresh milk that I left in the hotel refrigerator that was marked with my name and room number. Upon checking out, I did tell the manager about the toilet seat/cover being a nuisance and he assured me it was going to be changed with the correct assembly.

nice place outside of central Budapest”
This is a clean, friendly hotel with very large rooms. Some of the furnishings are a little old or run down, and my bed was unusually firm (which for me was actually good). To get into the main part of the city, you need to take a tram and then a subway. These stop running around midnight, but there is also a convenient night bus. Still, you might prefer a more centrally located hotel given that there are some that are also good values.

Worst bed ever”
Hotel is located on Uloi rouad so it is easy to find. It is halfway between city and airport. I could park my car in front of the hotel. The staff at the reception claimed that they didn't get me booking from Agoda. Then I showed them my booking confirmation on my phone but it still didn't help much. After more waiting they found it - it was already printed on paper. The room was standard except the bed. It had no matrass, just wood and a few cantimeters of foam (I guess 2-5 cm). So it felt that I was lying on a wooden board. I couldn't fall asleep because I was turning all the time I probably managed to sleep 2-3: hours. Probably I couldn't expect more from a hotel that was 22 euro (actually they charged 24 by using an inflated rate). Most other hotels are more than 40 euros. But regardless of the price you are suppose to get a good night's sleep, right?

Comfortable, spacious, and affordable hotel in middle of nowhere”
This was my favorite place to stay during my trip to Hungary. Affordable, rooms are spacious, and the hotel is well set up and very comfortable. Area is quiet as well, and I had one of the best nights sleep in a long time there in their comfortable beds. However, it is located in a rather remote area of city with few sites, resources, or places to eat or shop. Fortunately the train is right across street to take you to downtown.

Cheap but not clean”
Selected this hotel last minute for price and distance from BUD airport. Got 3rd floor, no lift you need to pay extra if you want AC in room, in Hallway was 28 degrees Celsius, even though they got AC, but they don't turn it on. Probably you will sleep better if you choose an upgraded room. Staff was friendly and helpful. Cleanliness needs plenty of improvement since you have shared facilities on third floor. You can smell cigarette smoke in building, maybe from rooms or staff? No lift of course, so don't bring a big luggage. It was an experience, not pleasant one. The only positive things is the relative quiet area if you get the back side, cheap price, and kind staff.

this hotel is really only an option as it's moderately close to the airport. however, it's not actually that close, it's still at least 6000 forint by taxi to the airport. my advice is stay somewhere better in the city, closer to shops and restaurants and civilised society. timon is basically in an industrial area, the staff are completely indifferent bordering on apathetic towards you. the beds are made of cement i suppose? walls are paper thin, you can basically hear people whispering next to you, god help you if they are having a 'fun time'. maybe they should use the beds for walls instead? dogs barking. all night. don't bother with this place, it's near nothing, it's a useless hotel.
