Location perfect”
Tinaya is just on the main road and close to many restaurants. Rooms were big but can be more clean. Wifi available only in reception area and hard time was to deal with mosquitoes there. Staff were friendly.

It was ok not too good value for money”
They were not prepared for our arrival though we checked in at around 3pm. We were asked to wait at the reception till they set up our room. The bathroom was cleaned with acid quickly so when we went inside the room we could hardly breathe because of the acid smell. We had to ask for everything again and again, may be the mosquito repellent or the light not working. The wi-fi was hopeless since the router was not anywhere near. The room was not cleaned when we came back next day in the evening from sight seeing, though we left the key with them in the morning. The explanation they gave was that we had to specifically ask them to get the room cleaned if we wanted them to clean it. I told them that they should have asked us if we wanted the room to be cleaned or not. We assumed that the room will be cleaned if we left the key as it happens in other hotels. It was more of a family hosting a few rooms rather than a full-fledged hotel. It shows up on the internet as a hotel instead. The breakfast was not included in the cost and the charges for 4 bread slices, an omelette a a tea was Rs 1000 and it was too much.

good staff but that's all ”
helpful staff, good be, air conditioning
Our room wasn't deluxe as was announced at all and to our disappointment had no windows; we didn't feel safe in the district where hotel was located. Food in the restaurant seemed overpriced for what we had, breakfast was standard - fried eggs and toasts. Staff is helpful and doing everything you ask for. In principle OK, but better we don't stay in Dambulla at all.

Friendly Staff, and Good Food”
Friendly Staff, Good Food and Convenient Location
The staffs are very friendly and helpful. We went to Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa. Used a nano car in hotel to both places, and affordable, although bus or tuk tuk are both cheaper and convenient. Meal is delicious and we had our dinners in hotel. The only downside is that room does not have window.

Decent hotel in Dambulla”
Food, nice staff, hot water
The hotel was overall ok. Took awhile for my room to get ready when I arrived even though no one else was staying at the hotel it seems. The wifi was really only available in the main area, didn't have any in my room. My room was also very noisy all night from the street noise - even though the location is in the city there isn't really anything to do in Dambulla. I'd suggest to others to stay at nicer boutique hotels closer to Sigriya. Staff was friendly and food was good, but they wouldn't arrange an early breakfast takeaway for me the next morning when I was going to Sigriya Rock so I overpaid and didn't get anything....

Poor performance”
the goodness was the tasty fruit for breakfast
it was terrible. i booked it for 2 nights but i actually left after the 1st night and rented another room. of course they would not offer a refund. we didn't arrive at the hotel until 630pm and the rooms were still not ready. i paid for the deluxe room...the only difference btw my room and my friends standard rooms was that it had a tv. BUT the tv did not work and the owner could not fix it. The location was in the middle of town...but unfortunately Dambulla is only a junction town and its not somewhere you want to be at night. I would recommend that anyone considering this hotel or any other hotel in Dambulla stay in the Sigiria area instead just 20 minutes up the road.

Its all about location :)”
Location, Breakfast & Rates
It is what it is - a well place cheap hotel, that offers BASIC sleeping arrangement. THere is not top sheet only the bottom fitted sheet and a blanket.... quite uncomfortable when we tried to keep AC off...Our choice I know but really do not feel that a top sheet would have been that much to expect. Also I suppose it is unfair to rate this hotel in comparing with other properties we stayed at over the 10 days in Sri Lanka... I reiterate it is cheap and its location is what we were looking for - easy access to the sites. The hotel being in the main street meant that one could easily walk to other restaurants and the supermarket etc. Parking was also available for our car and driver was accommodated adequately. Breakfast was lovely and sufficient to sustain us for the rock climb etc. Overall I would most likely stay there again because in Dambulla you really are out of the room all day.... so it is just a place to park your head at night and eat a hearty breakfast before you go out for the day.
