Hotel Tornabuoni Beacci was a very well located hotel in Florence, near everything. The rooms are ample , except our bathroom was very small. It was hard to open and close the door to get out. The hotel is very clean. The service could be more friendly and attentive. The receptionist was adequate, The female head staff was efficient. There was no one to help with our bags when we checked in or early check out. Since the hotel was old and had various uneven level; it was very hard to carry all of our luggage. All of it was charming but there should have been adequate staffing and explanation of the layout. If one has a lot of luggage, impaired or elderly that could be a even bigger problem. The outdoor area is lovely. The only problem was the staff at the bar were not too interested in making us comfortable. We were told the bar closed 11pm . We came in, much earlier the male waiting staff were indifferent. If the hotel could improve on these things it would be a plus.

Perfect location, right in the city center n 15 mins walk to train station. Spacious n clean room, nice staff. Not v good breakfast with little choices and the priced food are usually included in other hotels. Seems weird to be charged on an extra price list. Overall good.

Loved this hotel”
We were only there for one night em route to our destination, but we absolutely loved this hotel. It was in a Fabulous location, walking distance to everything. The staff was top notch and very helpful during our stay !! The only part that was a little stressful was getting there (we were driving) and the parking situation. Once battled through the pedestrian traffic, the staff helped us and parked our car with valle service (do this, totally worth it). I would stay there again. Grazie to the great staff !!

Nice family hotel”
We were a family of 5 and took a quadruple room and were very happy with the room. The room was quite big with one queen bed 2 single beds and one sofa so we were all accommodated well. The reception was pleasant and helpful. He gave us the print out of the train timings as we were travelling to Cinque Terra. The Air Conditioner needs improvement as it was not cooling so well.The wifi was excellent. They gave us 4 welcome drinks which was a nice gesture. The location was good. The breakfast was limited and if improved would raise my rating higher. The bathroom needs renovation. There was a small garden area on the terrace which was very pretty with flowers. We could see the garden from our room. Our room no. was 530. This hotel had a old world charm which we liked. There were guests books that were dated back from 1960's with the guests comments which was really cool. We were on the 5th floor however there was lift upto 4th floor only so there was climbing steps required. Overall we were happy with the hotel and would definitely return back.

No Poetry Fans”
We were in Florence for the first of three poetry readings (with readings in Venice and Rome to follow) and sent two parcels of books ahead after being assured they would keep them for us until we got there. The books arrived the week before we arrived. Three times the shipping agency tried to deliver the books. Three times the hotel refused to accept them. By the time we arrived, the shipping agency informed us the two parcels had been returned to the US. It's nota bad hotel, but it's one we would never return to.

Wonderful old style hotel. 600 year old building. Location is the best. Amenities are as one would expect from such an established hotel. Nice roof top area and AC was very efficient.

Grand Old Hotel in the heart”
Standard rooms tend to be small. We booked the last room available, at the time of booking, which was a Standard Double. It was adequate, but not in any way luxurious. We took the time to see Superior rooms which are larger, better appointed and more comfortable. Staff could not be friendlier or helpful. We would stay there again, but would upgrade.

Every person on staff here was outstanding!! We stayed here for our first two nights in Italy, then returned for 5 days after 2 days in Rome. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We were made to feel like family and will definitely return. Molto grazie!!!

The hallway smelled of sewage ”
The hotel was at a great location in Florence and the breakfast was delicious. However the hallway (1st floor) to our room and the room stunk of sewage. We spoke to the front desk about it. He explained that the hotel is fixing their air conditioning (?!?) and that is why it is so smelly. We then asked for another room and he said he did not have another (this was 30 min after he gave us a choice between the quiet and noisy room). Until they fix the smell I would not recommend this particular hotel.

Only the location”
Food very poor, almost every morning no spare table to sit, have to wait while someone finishes. Cold in the room, heating terrible. Cold floor in the bathroom, never put the new bottle of shower gel during three full days of our visit. No slippers neither bathrobe. Changed the room, the first one was terrible (dark, cold, small, bad smell, small TV, terrible shower, no view at all..). The only one thing worth to stay there was LOCATION. Price too high for money...

The hotel is conveniently located and the layout typical of an old building converted into a hotel - long winding corridors. The room was a good size with nice furnishings as was a sitting in the middle of the building. The bathroom was very small but more importantly the shower stall had a bad case of mould in the corners on the floor and the drain hole. The continental breakfast was adequate and the food fresh. Unfortunately what would have been a very nice rooftop garden area for breakfast was infested with pigeons - apart from the feathers and the noise they almost carried you away.
