Rooms and toilet toooo congested. Can’t even sit properly on toilet seat because of wall next to toilet seat. On request and feedback the reception boy replied that owners won’t be bothered to change anything...

We stayed at a 2F room facing the street. It was very noisy, people were screaming and talking loudly in the entire night due to proximity to Red Light District. The space was old, smelly and small, we could barely open our suitcases.

Bad mattress”
Location was very good, easy to walk to train station and facing a canal. Breakfast did not have much variety. Carpets and bathrooms old, need replacing. The stairs were narrow and difficult to navigate with bags to go up to the room which was small but this is expected in old amsterdam so not a complaint but just for your information. Most disappointing was the very old mattress which had springs you could feel on your body as you lay down and moved. As a tourist you are out all day and need a good bed to sleep but our bed was terrible.

Perfect location, but the street is very loud. I had a room with the canal wiew, and it felt like sleeping in the middle of a bar. My room was very cold, no heating at all.

Poor staff attitude and dirty beds”
Location
Booked a family room of 5 for 3 nights from 28thJune - 1stJuly. On our second day, we were told abruptly after breakfast that we needed to transfer room as there were guests checking in to the room we were staying in! The staff-in-charge insisted on us packing our belongings immediately, which of course we refused as we were leaving for our cruise shortly and we were only notified on our way out of the hotel. The staff-in-charge did not give us a good attitude while explaining the situation, forcing us to evict from the room or we had to pay them an additional night (when we had paid the whole cost of the stay in full on check-in) to continue staying in the same room. During our conversation, he repeatedly refuse to put us on the telephone line with the management when we requested to talk to them. We were advised by the customer service to transfer room first and he would solve the misunderstanding. What we felt that was terribly wrong was that we should have been informed about the need to transfer room on the day of check-in. Should they have informed us prior, we would have been able to make preparations to transfer room. The staff-in-charge's attitude could have been more polite as well! 2 days after leaving Amsterdam, rashes started appearing on my brother's and my arms, legs, body. We could only attribute this to possible dirty bedding and the rashes concur with that of bedbug bites. We deduced the bites were from our stay at Amsterdam as we went home immediately after Amsterdam. Although the location and rate is good, I feel that the staff attitude as well as room cleanliness need to be improved much further.
