We found our room to be large and clean, and while it is old, it was comfortable. The strong, consistent hot water was a daily luxury, especially after returning from sightseeing. Our top-floor room was quiet, thanks to the double-glazed windows, and the mountain views were simply spectacular. The hotel's location is ideal, and we highly recommend trying the meals at the ground-floor restaurant. Keep in mind that this is a family-run bed and breakfast (with breakfast currently unavailable), so don't expect the extensive services of a five-star hotel. If you're looking for convenience and no-frills stay that aligns with its price point, this is an option for short trips.
Viva Nikko provided comfortable rooms to stay in and provided a great location to get to and from the train and bus station as well as to restaurants in Nikko. Some hotels might be able to provide idyllic locations for more relaxation, but choosing to compromise this for location was fine with us as we were put much of the day adventuring. The room was a lovely place for my daughter to stay.
We stayed a night here. The room is japanese style with some amenities and the room was clean and too big compare with the prices. Close to everything can walk to temples and travel spot in town.
The room is very nice and clean. The beds are comfortable and the linens are crisp and white. The hotel is just a stone throw away from the train and bus stations as quite near the family mart and restaurants.
