Large but comfortable & convenient hotel ”
Windsor Suites is a large hotel between Sois 18 & 20, off Sukhumvit. The rooms usually have a sitting room and bedroom, with the bathroom between them, and are quite large. TV channles include BBC, Star Movies, plus German, French, Japanese, and Chinese channels, as well as the regular Thai ones. Beds are comfortable, and the temperature controls work. The rooms all have their own safe, though they are on the small side - a netbook, for example, won't quite fit into one. Breakfast was included in my deal, and the selection is very wide, including cereals, fresh fruit, juices, omellette or fried eggs to order, pancakes, baked beans, bacon, bread, cakes, congee, fried rice, and even more - plus coffee and tea as well. The hotel has several good restaurants - Chinese, Japanese, and Thai, and a good bakery by the back entrance at Soi 18. There is a German restaurant across the street on Soi 20 - Otto's, and further down the soi on the right (just after Sabai Sabai Massage) is Thong Lee's, a highly respected but thrifty Chinese-Thai restaurant that should not be missed. The Asoke entrance to the Skytrain is about 5 minutes' walk away - exit by the Soi 18 exit for speed. A slightly long walk up Sukhumvit in the other direction brings you to the big mall at Phrom Phong. In other words, its a nice, handy neighborhood, and the hotel works well. The staff are friendly and helpful without being intrusive. It is a big hotel, but it doesn't fweel as if it is, and its now my standard place to stay in Bangkok.
Great hotel with mind blowing features”
i liked the hotel location very much. it is centrally located. catch a sky train to go to siam, and mbk, and shop to your limits. you could also catch mrt to go to patpong and silom night markets, and night life at the sukhumvit area is simply great. there are numerous restaurants near nana, which is open all night. you could also have foreign currency exchange on all the 24 hours of the day. i like the hotel for the services they bestowed. the security swipe card is unique. no one can enter your room, without having your swipe card. in fact, on one can enter your floor, or take a lift to your floor, without the room swipe card. windsor suites is that safe. reception center wee very helpful. they would always help you out with your queries. i used to go out in the afternoon, and when i did came late at night, my rooms were kept tidy by the housekeeping staff. it was just great. i will again stay at the windsor suites hotel on my next visit to bangkok. i would also like to inform that there are numerous night clubs nearby, especially the pool bar. there is one which is very nearby,in fact, opposite to the left of the hotel, and then there are many at nana and the surrounding areas.
Great ambiance with large rooms”
This was my second visit to Bangkok in two years, and on both occasion, I was in Windsor suites hotel. During my latest trip, I was given a room in the 18th floor, with a direct view of the swimming pool, which was in the 14th floor, and it looked great from that height. I was very impressed with how the hotel conducts its affairs. On the very first day, I had to call the front office twice to help me to run two of its devices in the room, and they responded very quickly. In fact, within 2 minutes the hotel boys arrived to help me out, and I appreciate their fast service very much. The rooms were very clean. The housekeeping was done every day, and since, I was away in the morning, it looked great to find my rooms absolutely tidy when I arrived late at night. I would also like to thanks Agoda to provide me an opportunity to book such a good hotel at such reasonable price. The atrium lounge was great too. It gives the hotel that extra edge to attract tourists. However, I don’t understand why they shifted the lounge and put a car on display in the last two days of my stay. I would love to see the atrium lounge where it was. It was so beautiful to find someone singing and playing piano at night in the lounge. For me, Windsor Suites hotel is one of the very best, and I will again book a room here on my next trip.
I hadn't stayed at the Windsor Suites before but got an excellent deal on Agoda. Check-In and Check-Out were a matter of seconds - superbly efficient staff. The Room (Suite) was spacious, well appointed and spotlessly clean with a nice bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The selection of TV channels wasn't great but Wi-Fi was free and a reasonable speed compared to some. WS is an older hotel but in my opinion that simply adds to it's appeal - it was built at a time when a sq m of land in Sukhumvit didn't cost a fortune and it shows in the size of rooms and public spaces. The hotel in conveniently located for shopping and restaurants etc. I'll definately stay at Windsor Suites again.
To sum it up in a sentence - Windsor is a vert good hotel but needs a lil update. It is a well situated hotel standing tall in the prime area of Sukhmvit. Hotel has every kind of facalities which one can expect from a 4 to 5 star hotel. We booked two 2 bedroom suites and 3 windsor suites. 2 bedroom suites were neat and elagant with one master bedroom and one twin bed room attached to the drawing room. their rooms are bit outdated as water taps are loud enough to wake you up from deep sleep. Also they have only one bathroom for two bedrooms which i personally founf very weird but that weirdness was gone when we went to their swimming pool and spa area. its an awesome area to spend hours of time chilling with your friends and family. whereas if we talk about windsor suites which is a 1 bedroom suite, i must say they have detailed out every possible beauty while furnishing these rooms. A small drawing attached with a spacious bedroom with an amazing view to swimming pool at 14th floor. we enjoyed our stay thoroughly and wish to come back soon. Also I havent seen a better hotel staff than Windsor. They did fulfill our demands, that too with a smile. Hotel also has every possible cuisines at a call away. Breakfast was particularly for south east asian cuisine. they should make some delicacies for their Indian guests.
I find the location is great when I can reach my restaurants on the same street. Should I not book the other hotel, Grand Centre Point at Terminal 21, I would have stayed the whole time in Bangkok at Windsor Suites. The room cleaning lady is very well groomed and polite and did her job excellent. The staff at the reception are all very courteous and tried their best to help you when needed The Fitness Centre Coach is very polite, helpful and very professional. I am surprised even bath robes are provided in the room. The only thing which is not there is the facial tissue. I would love to come back to the Windsor Suites in the future and have already recommended to many of my friends. The only complaint is I was staying in a room in another building, hence it was quite inconvenient to go to the swimming pool when normally I can easily go back to my room in my swim suits.
Very comfortable, nice place”
I really like the Counsellor Suite rooms at the Windsor. The TV selections have improved (other than the fake Fox News). The shower heads in the bathrooms are positioned badly, and threaten to flood the floor if care is not taken. The reception room has a water boiler and some tea bags, coffee, and sugar, with a second TV and a room safe. The Soi 18 side of the hotel has a nice bakery which sells off its remaining cakes after 4 pm at 40% off. The western part of thre international breakfast has declined. There is no bacon, just steam-table processed ham. There are baked beans, but they are as hard as bullets, and inedible. One of the main features of fried potatoes is crispiness, so they should be warmed under a heat-lamp, not enclosed (as they are) in a steam-table, where all their crispiness is lost. The potatoes should be soft on the inside too, and they are not soft enough. Just two Lipton tea-bags are used to make a coffee carafe of tea, so it is like dish-water. My overall impression is that the western food is being cooked by people who have no understanding of what it is supposed to be like, and no solicitation of feedback from customers is being done to find out how it could be improved. This is such a lost opportunity. Since adding breakfast to your booking seems to cost north of $10 per room, I'd recommend skipping breakfast and dining outside. The Asoke station of Skytrain is a 7/8 minute walk away via a nice overhead walkway. Down Soi 20, away from Sukhumvit and just after Sabai Sabai Massage there is Thong Lee, a Thai-Chinese restaurant that has great food at rock-bottom prices. Their Hainese(?) Fried Chicken is a wonder that should not be missed. There are several other decent restaurants in the area, and an international supermarket a few blocks down Sukhumvit (other side, towards Prom Phong). Baan Kanitha, a wonderful high-end restaurant, has a branch a few blocks away, behind Asoke.
A very pleasant stay”
I recently stayed at the Windsor Suites Hotel for a few days. My room was splendid. It was a corner room (2421) with a fantastic view of the city. One entire wall was glass, from floor to ceiling. Beautiful. The room was very large, clean and very comfortable. And not a sound to be heard; not from inside the premises nor from outside. I slept like a baby. There was only one small problem: the refrigerator was not cool because too much ice had accumulated in the freezer compartment. However, the room maid solved that little problem very quickly. The front office staff were polite and helpful. I cannot judge the food. I know it is bad but I usually skip breakfast while in Bangkok. For lunch I invariably have a sandwich without stopping my work. Dinner is usually the same allowing me to get as much work done as possible in as short a time as possible. However, in the mornings, walking from the lift, past the restaurant to the front door was a real temptation because it smelled so good. I am afraid I may succumb next time I stay at the hotel. Altogether a very pleasant stay. I will be back.
This was our second stay here. The hotel is very clean and modern yet elegant. The lobby is high and spacious, all marble, tile and glass. The suites are beautiful, clean and comfortable. The pool is a flower surrounded by gardens. The spa and other facilities are A-1.The breakfast buffet is excellant. Most of all the staff from top to bottom are friendly and professional. When you are looking online for a hotel in an unfamiliar city you only have pictures and reviews to go by. Oftentimes the pictures can be deceiving. You will not be dissapointed with Windsor Suites.
Will stay here again.”
there are really two windsor suites hotel. one is the main building, about 32 stories tall. these rooms are much nicer, usually a small suite, and better views. their is an annex building of about 8 stories that isn't quite as nice. the room i booked through agoda was in the annex. these rooms are okay, just your basic room. same amenities as the main building and you can use all of the facilities. these rooms are just smaller and not quite as nice as the main building. i enjoyed my stay here in both buildings. the front desk staff was helpful, especially a guy named woody. he changed my room after i complained about some construction noise (hopefully they finish that soon) and upgraded me to the main building when i stayed there again after a visit to phuket. if you want to get a lounge chair by the pool, then plan to go early! there aren't enough for all the guests.
Fantastic hotel, great location & wonderful servic”
The Windsor suites is an amazing hotel. It really is the perfect place to stay in Bangkok. There are some fabulous restaurants on the same strip - the Green Garden especially is worth going to. Outside there are often taxi drivers willing to drive you around. If you can contact Mr Wuth. We used him for the entire we were in Bangkok and he is amazing and totally accommodating. Very cheap as well. Contact details are: Mr Wuth - 088-096-942-9 email: email@example.com The hotel itself is slightly run down in the rooms but it is nothing to be concerned with. I will definitely be staying here every time I visit Bangkok and have already started organizing to come back this year.
Great location with great rooms”
the hotel is located not far away from asok bts and mrt station, which is good to travel as traveling by taxi isn't suggested. for families who carry buggy or stoller (like i did), i'd recommend to use the escalator or lift in the exchange building to reach the bts or the mrt as these facilities aren't widely available or if they do, i'd say more than 50% are out of service (the lift). there's a great germany resturant in front of the hotel which you'd go for romantic dinner. i couldn't forget the road-side noodle stall that costs per plate! so, better immense youself with high-end foods and authentic local street-like stalls to twist your taste buds. :-) with asok bts, you don't have to change train to go siam paragon or mbk. which is a very good point. okay, back to the hotel topics. i stayed at counseller one bedroom suite and it was fantastic. the living room was separate from the bed room and it was spacious. i'd comment on the bathroom facilities, though. i just couldn't get the water run from the faucet instead of the shower to fill up the bath tub. and the facilities are old although they're clean enough. the breakfast food variety was good but when they started packing up at 10am although they're closing at 10:30am, it seems rude to me. not sure about you all think. overall, i'd come back to stay at windsor hotel. it's value for money with good location. thanks for reading my review and hope this helps.
More bang for your buck”
if you yearn for a spacious suite but have a modest budget the windsor suites are ideal. when they were first built they were probably in a league of their own but are now crying out for refurbishment. that said if you can ignore the ancient wallpaper and stained upholstery they are actually very comfortable and spacious. we booked a diplomat suite but were placed in a counsellor suite which was very similar. all the suites are in the main building, whereas the grand deluxe rooms are just basic rooms and in the garden wing. one gets the impression that the garden wing is more downmarket and best avoided. the beds in our counsellor suite were firm and the linen was spotless. the separate living area is ideal if one person wants to stay up later than the other. free internet, safe in the room and kettle ticked all our boxes. the pool area was very attractive and it was hard to believe it was fourteen storeys up when you looked at the mature trees surrounding the pool. thick carpet and solid doors ensured good noise insulation and it was absolutely silent at night. the lifts were very fast and plentiful. this is a very large hotel, so breakfast was a bit busy in the morning however there was a good choice of hot dishes as well as fruit, danish pastries etc. the hotel is near the beginning of the soi so not far to reach shops etc. it is exactly midway between skytrain stations. we used asoke. we could walk to it in less than 10 minutes. the new mall at soi 21 is within easy walking distance. i would stay here again and reckon we had good value for money.
Comfortable Hotel in Nice Location”
i always stay at the windsor in bangkok, because it is so comfortable and economical. the staff are complete professionals, and always very helpful, and the counsellor suites rooms are big and comfortable. the rooms all have water boilers (plus coffee and tea) now, and two tvs, one digital one in the bedroom, and an older analog one in the reception room. in english, the tvs carry bbc, al jazeera, fox crime, and two or three other stations. the shower is powerful, but has to be controlled a bit to avoid the bathroom floor. beds are firm, bit not too firm. the a/c has separate controls for the two rooms. all rooms have room safes. the walls sem reasonably thick, and i have seldom been disturbed by neighbors. the hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the asoke train station, so it is quite handy. the room service menu is not expensive, and the food is good. the hotel's restaurants are good too, though better vale is available outside the doors. the breakfast, for westerners, is not great. ham is used instead of bacon, and the fried potatoes are left in a steam-tray, losing all their crispiness. eggs any-style are available, however, plus fruit and cereal.
Good location and even better breakfast buffet”
This was our second stay at Windsor Suite Hotel. This time we were in the adjanced building. It seems a bit run down compare to main building but it still works okay. This time we had two double rooms joining by a door. This is far cheaper than the family rooms we had the last time. The only advantage of family room is that you get a small sitting arrangement and a microoven. If you are in the old building it is quite a walk to the swimmingpool which is on 14. floor in the main building. Otherwise rooms are nice and clean. If you get double room the bed is hugh and you can easily fit a child into the bed (the rooms are big, so additional beds are also possible). The rooms are featuring a fridge and tv with various international channels. The hotel offers a hugh breakfast buffet covering both continental, Thai and Japanese style. It is you own fault if you are hungry by midday...... The hotel now offers shuttle bus twice a day to MBK, Paragon and Central World. Though it might be just as fast to go to the Shy train at Asok (where there is both sky and Metro connection). Would I come back, most likely :-)
Me and my boyfriend stayed at windsor suites from 28 June to 3 July. After we booked the hotel, we were a little worried as we saw quite a few negative reviews. But we gotta go for it as the money was paid! For a one bedroom suite, I guess it is really cheap as it was less than 100 sgd per night. We reached the hotel at about 9pm, check in was fast and easy. The staffs do not really understand English, however the manager's English is really fluent. He was really polite and friendly, greeting us whenever he saw us. The only bad thing we had during our stay is only 1 mobile/ laptop can be connected to the room wifi! I think the hotel should do something about that. Other than that, the whole 5 nights stay was pleasant and good :) really recommend anyone who wishes to book a cheap yet good hotel. Take about 8 mins walk to asok bts/ sukumvit mrt and terminal 21 (the food there is awesome). Took about 4 stops taking the bts to town of bangkok (pratunam, platinum). There are a few street stalls under the hotel that had very nice street food ;) Overall, this hotel is too awesome for us. We will definitely visit it again the next time we go to bangkok!
Little Castle in the Heart of Bangkok”
Windsor Suites Hotel is a great hotel in the heart of Bangkok. The best thing about the hotel is it's location; it is very close to shopping malls and eateries. All sort of transportation is available within few minutes of walking distance. This is my fourth stay in Windsor Suites in the last 7 years. I will prefer to stay at Windsor Suites in future as well.
Good hotel with beautiful view from the 22nd flr”
The positives Loved my long stay at the Windsor suites hotel (except for a few minor issues) I was on the 22nd floor non smoking room.It was a 'Windsor suite'room with a fabulous city skyline view. The suite room is a good size with a separate drawing room. The hotel is easily accessible as it is centrally located in Soi 20 near Asok BTS Courteous and well mannered staff.Huge Lobby area with live singers and a piano Lovely pool and a fully equipped gym. The negatives - Housekeeping not upto the mark 1. Corridor on the 22nd floor had a queer, strange smell the moment one gets off the lift and it smelt that way all the days that i stayed. 2. My non smoking room once smelt of cigarette smoke, as if someone had smoked in it. 3. The housekeeping staff was not very comfortable about giving extra tea/coffee/sugar sachets. 4. Room cleaning was not up to the mark. 5. There was a huge stain on the carpet on the 22nd floor which never got cleaned 6. Wi-Fi Internet connectivity was always a struggle.could not access internet in the bedroom had to come to the drawing room.Invariably it was slow. 7. An Ice bucket that i asked for (which is usually complimentary in hotels) was chargeable at 25THB 8. Microwave oven not available in the Suite room. 9. Water heater jug(for tea/coffee)was very old and worn out 10. Gym usage was somehow not automatically complimentary which was surprising? I had to request a daily pass from the front desk/reception and then go back up to the 14th floor everyday.
Windsor Suites continues to be my "go to" spot in Bangkok”
Cannot ever go wrong with staying at the Windsor Suites. From my first stay here in 1990 to just a few weeks ago, Windsor Suites does it well. Their breakfast buffet is the absolute perfect start to a day.. on the 32nd floor, every day we started out with a leisurely and incredible buffet that allowed us time to plan our day, catch up on e-mails and take in incredible views of the city. I will be back to Bangkok soon and it will be Windsor Suites for me.
Large but friendly hotel”
The bedrooms at the Windsor are quite large, and come with a little reception room separated from it by the bathroom. The beds are very comfortable, and the TV selection is quite decent. The water pressure is good, and towels, soaps, etc are all supplied. The breakfast buffet presents a huge international selection of foods, from cereals, juices, coffee & tea, congee, eggs any style, baked beans, rice, potato of the day. and breads and cakes. Its easy to be very satisfied. The Asoke stop of the Skytrain is only a short walk (6 minutes or so) away. On Soi 20 there are several restaurants. Across the street is a German one, while down the street, just after Sabai Sabai Massage, is Thong Lee, a Chinese-Thai place that serves delicious fare, and for very reasonable prices. The hotel has several restautants too. Both their Chinese and Japanese places deserve a visit, though both have typical hotel pricing - meaning not horribly expensive, but not cheap either.
