In a restored 19th century building close to Roma Termini, Hotel XX Settembre provides easy access to the sights, whether on foot or via public transport. In a quiet side street a few blocks from Piazza Repubblica, the property is in an excellent locale for reaching important monuments, grabbing a slice of pizza, sitting down for a traditional Italian meal, or socializing with the locals. The hotel interiors are relatively new and rooms reflect this with clean white walls and modern furnishings, offering both Wi-Fi Internet access and air-conditioning. From here, Via Veneto is a 10-minute walk away, and the Spanish Steps are 15 minutes away. The Roma Termini, five tourist buses, and metro stops making the city all the more accessible.

Convenient location, friendly staff and clean room”
The hotel was at a central location, only 5 mins walk away from Termini station. Although the room was slightly dated, but it’s clean and presentable. The staff at the front desk was very friendly, offered a map and very polite with guided information. Valued for money, will definitely come back again.
Outstanding service and good location (8 mins walk from Termini)”
I have a happy stay there with the budgeted price. :) PRO - Staff are super nice and helpful. - 8 mins walk to Termini. So it's very convenient for traveling. - You can drop your bag after checkout without any fee, can pick up any time. They keep it safely in a locked room. - Free Wifi in room - They provided a room for changing cloth after check-out. CON - The elevator and the room is a bit small but for solo traveler, I'm totally fine with it.
everything superb! ”
I booked this hotel 3 hours before arrive Rome. I came from Milan. The price i got very cheap. And when i arrived the super friendly staff name FABIO gave me an free room upgrade. He was superkind when he let me use the room for free of charge to change my cloth although i already checked out. Location is superb. Near to Termini train station and near to everything. Halal restaurant is everywhere. I give u 5 stars for hotel and 10 stars for Fabio!!
Great location, tiny room with fenced windows”
The location is great, hotel feels safe, staff is very friendly. But the single room was tiny, with a fenced window making you feel a bit like in a prison. The bathroom window was bigger. But I guess it's safe from burglars. Book a larger room if you can, even if you travel alone. Breakfast ok, the cornetto was exceptionally nice, and good plain yoghurt without sugar (very rare in Italian hotels).
Good value for the money”
No frills hotel with an excellent location just a few minutes from the train station. It’s clean enough and the staff is friendly. Breakfast is a tad better than most breakfasts in Italy, but the selection is, as always here, poor. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants a cheap and clean stay.
Cold and Small shower”
Stayed in room 302, everything was okay except for the heater is not working so it was cold. Probably it is still hot in Rome in late November?? The other thing is the shower space is very very small. It is like half a meter by half a meter. Your elbows will literally touch the walls and the shower curtains. Then the floor will be flooded. In the pictures and in the booking it is supposed to be a bath tub.
Great location, clean, friendly”
Loved it. It took approx. 7 min walk from Termini to hotel. Yes, there are shady looking people nearby as others mentioned, but they didn't do anything to me, kind of harmless, just walk past confidently. I am a single girl traveling and I felt safe walking at night from station to hotel. The staff were amazingly warm. The room is perfect for one. Very small private shower with hot water, cute for a girl. Small bed and room but perfect for me. Decent free brekky, very clean room, quiet, fantastic location. Great tv channels. Small lift (for one person and a small suitcase) so I had to use stairs but I only had a small suitcase. Only downfall was wifi was crap and slow. (just get yourself a 10gb TIM data sim at airport for $25 USD)
Excellent service ”
Good location and excellent service. Breakfast was average. Hot water heater was not working that well. There 2 toilets in our family room and we can't have our shower at the same time as one of us will be running out of water
good stay but no hot shower”
everything about this hotel is good except that if i am not wrong, they are using the hot water tank heating system. aka hot water comes from the hot water tank above the shower. on the first night we did not have hot water for more than 3 minutes so we told the staff and they were really good and efficient and checked our heater for us and told us it was working. however, on the 2nd night, even though I took only 3-4 minutes to shower (luke warm water only so as to conserve the hot water), my boyfriend still had to shower in cold water as there was no hot water! other than that, everything else about the hotel was excellent. staff is really attentive and nice. we stayed in annex and everything was good! breakfast was superb!!
This hotel is a great location in the center of town and walking distance to the sights. Nice area, among embassies. Good bus links. Great staff and pretty good breakfast (eggs, meats, cheeses, breads, jams, butters, coffe and tea). Be warned that there are no irons and you will have to arrange to have your clothes ironed at the reception.
The staff were very friendly and professional. The room was a little small, but perfect for a single traveller, very clean and with air conditioner and fridge. The location was excellent, five minutes walk to the subway, two to a supermarket, with an Indian street market at the cornet and surrounded by restaurants, gift shops and a laundry.
Great location, clean and comfortable, very helpful staff”
The location could not have been better. Close to the train terminal and metro station, good restaurants, YET on a quiet street in downtown Rome! Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good as well. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Bathroom were a bit old and water from the shower would get everywhere. WiFi was a bit slow, for parents that was fine, for teenagers it was a problem. Would recommend without a problem.
Awesome value for money. Little bit of a hike but once reached- clean, modern, well priced, everything you need for this area. Would stay again!
We are asked to go to another building which claimed to part of the hotel very inconvenient to us. However the breakfast is good with lots of selection
not like in the pictures”
got a underground room with no window , two levels, street scary a bit very expensive ... good staff , will not get back deffo
Nice welcoming staff at reception. 8 minutes walk from train station. Airport bus 5 minutes walk. Room very clean. Value for money.
nice hotel within 500 meters from Roma Termini Station ”
Had a very nice stay there. Thanks a lots to Front office staff Giuseppe for giving excellent tips for exploring the city. We had a great time there. Highly recommended
We stayed at the Hotel XX Settembre in February 2018 for the 6 Nations Rugby. The hotel was basic, but amazing value. Good location, could walk to all the main tourist attractions. The rooms were basic, but clean and were cleaned with fresh towels everyday. The breakfast was the usual continental cheese, ham, cakes, juice and hot drinks - the rolls were fresh everyday from the local bakery. Every member of staff from the front desk to the housekeeper to the breakfast room staff were extremely friendly and very helpful - nothing was too much. I used the laundry service to have a shirt ironed and it was back within a few hours and the fee was 2,50 euros. We are going back to Rome for the 2019 Six Nations rugby and will be staying here again 100%
Good Value Near Train Station”
This is a basic hotel that provides good value. It is about a ten minute walk from the train station. We stayed in the annex on the 4th floor across the street. The room and bathroom are basic but serviceable and clean. There is a safe and minibar fridge, but the wifi is unreliable. Also, there are no screens so mosquitoes can be a problem. You can close the windows entirely, but then you cannot use the portable fan/air conditioner which vents out the window. Also, the area is extremely noisy at all hours, so take ear plugs. There is a tiny elevator that works most of the time. However, we found that on the up portion of the trip we needed to get out on the 5th floor and walk down. The elevator did not want to stop at 4 going up, but had no problem going down from 4. The breakfast- which is included in the price- is quite good. In addition to the usual pastries, there was ham, cheese, hard- boiled eggs and yogurt. The staff are friendly and eager to please. If you need anything, they will gladly get it for you. However, be patient since there is often just one desk clerk on at any given time. There is a laundromat around the corner on Montebello. Also on that street is a market on weekdays selling cheap clothes and produce.
The location was good - easy access to bus and train and within walking distance of Termini Station”
The staff were friendly and did their best. The environment where the hotel is located is very dirty because it's next to a market street and there was rubbish scattered everywhere on the street even during non market days. The hotel itself is very neat and good location for public transport. Breakfast was good and staff were helpful.
