The best place to stay in Singapore”
From check-in, to shower and sleep, Hotel Yan has provided me the best hospitality. It is difficult to comment on when everything’s perfect. Besides being clean and comfortable, this property has the best location in town too! Not only that it is of walking distance to the train stations, it is also surrounded by coffee shops selling a few of the infamous local food, and the Tiramisu cafe. The reception staffs were always polite, friendly and really to help. I had booked a 2-nights stay at the property and required a desk and chair to do some work. I never knew that the room that I had previously booked did not have a desk for work. Hotel Yan heard my woes and offered me a free upgrade to a larger room that had a desk the size of a king sized bed’s width in it. Because of that, I was able to finish my work. Needless to say, I’m full of gratitudes for that good-will gesture by Hotel Yan, of course!

Sleek perfection! Like a streamlined five-star hotel.”
I travel for work often around Asia, and typically stay in five-star places. Funding this trip myself, I wanted to save some coin, and Hotel Yan seemed a great reasonably-priced solution: stylish, safe, and convenient to MRT. What's amazing? Hotel Yan SURPASSED my usual five-star experience. My premium double room, while a cozy 10 meters, was perfect in every way: sparkling fixtures and fittings in elegant shades of grey, with thoughtful attention to detail. The brushed concrete floors and walls gave it an industrial-chic feel, complemented by a fluffy-white-topped Sealy bed. The black-out drapes on both sides of the bed were my favorite touch: pulling them shut at night, I was surrounded by luxe fabric walls, with the brisk air-con chilling the air and the cozy comforter surrounding me. It felt like the most luxurious childhood fort. Travelers with more luggage might choose a bigger room. For me, with my single bag, it was perfection!

For us, its our first time together in Singapore and we choose Hotel Yan,quite far from Lavender MRT station, but nice environment, very safe area, very good and polite and professional staff, had a good deep sleep, raining shower, mini bar refill everyday, and you must try the Nido Cafe in there.. Hidden gem alert!! 50 meter from Hotel Yan entrance(left side) try the Pig Organ Soup!!delish with cheap price!! Surely will comeback when we visit Singapore again..

Compact Room”
This was my second time staying at Hotel Yan. What I like about it, is it's unique compact loft configuration in it's smaller room. The bed is accessible up a ladder and is super comfortable. Underneath it is a desk, mini fridge, desk chair and small sofa chair. The bathroom is also unique in that it is separated into two glass walled rooms. Shower in one and toilet in the other. The sink is outside across from them. The shower is pretty spacious considering and the rainfall shower a joy to use. During this visit the fire smoke from Sumatra was heavy in the air and the hotel did it's best to minimize the effect inside the hotel. They went around regularly spraying something to into the air to eliminate the smell. It's in a great location for those who want to be outside the busier parts of Singapore.

Comfortable and very reasonably priced, but the room was tiny”
Hotel YAN is located pretty close to Little India and Chinatown, so if you're interested in those places, the location is great. There's a grocery store and about ten million great little restaurants just outside the front door. It's a five minute walk to the nearest bus station and fifteen minutes to the subway station. The best thing about this hotel (and the reason we got it) was the price. It was well-rated and offering rooms at significantly less than similarly-rated hotels. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are few amenities in the building (no swimming pool, weight room, etc), but they aren't advertised either, so this is no problem. I had only two complaints about our stay. First, the room was really teeny tiny. The bed, toilet, and shower are all crammed next to each other in a very small space. We didn't have enough room to open our check-in suitcase without completely blocking the door! I think this is why the room was cheap. Second, the lighting on the mirror is pretty abysmal. The light is centered above and behind your head so it casts a really strong shadow on your face. I had trouble shaving and my wife had to put her makeup on using her hand mirror and the light from the window. Overall, I'd recommend it! Just don't plan on having any guests over :)

Great experience”
As expected, very small room but if you are well prepared ( e.g. smaller suitcase, bring the essentials only) and utilise the available space well for storage, it is not a problem. For 1 person, it is perfect. Love the high ceiling which makes the room less claustrophobic. The toilet and shower are separated but with an odd sliding glass door as commented by other people. I had absolutely no problem because of travelling solo. I could not hear much noise from the streets but walls inside are not sound proof, bring ear plugs! Staff are excellent though, very attentive and helpful. You can find a lot of eateries around. Chye Seng Huat Hardware cafe located right next door to the hotel is a modern funky place for food and coffee, prices are on the high side though. My regular soy latte was shockingly S$6.30 which is way more expensive than an equivalent quality coffee in Australia. Great location of Hotel Yan, Lavender station is less than 10 minutes away by foot.

Clean & Chic Hotel!”
I came here with my best friend for our annual staycation & we were impressed by the interior of this chic hotel! It’s simple yet neat & has its own characteristics. The lobby area was cozy with the bright sofas and well lighted to welcome guests in. We truly enjoyed our stay here! Thank you Hotel Yan for the great hospitality =)

Super comfortable, chic, absolutely loved it”
Definitely one of the best hotels I've had a staycation in in Singapore. Entering the lobby itself gave you a really pleasant feel; it was aptly lit, and smelled amazing. the entire place smelled really good actually, from the lobby to the corridor and of course the room. The staff were really approachable and friendly as well, accommodating to whatever needs I had. The entire deco of the whole hotel was also very modern and tasteful, and the bed was amazing. Only two problems I had was that the faucet leading to the tub was a bit loose, so I had to hold on to it to adjust water pressure otherwise the water would just spill onto the floor, and that tv had no cable channels. But these 2 were considered quite minimal problems as they had 2 different shower heads as well in the toilet and I relied on netflix since there weren't much choices for me on the tv. All in all an extremely satisfying stay for me.

Fuss Free”
The checking-in process was definitely the most fuss-free I've ever experienced. There wasn't even a collection of a deposit, something which is customary of almost all hotels. The deluxe double room is small but I really appreciate the clever use of space. There was a small closet and two standing clothes rack with little shelves. Some small hotels I've been lack these. The only problem was my window was inward-facing so you don't get street view but the inside of the building. Somewhat claustrophobic. No on-site restaurant and no breakfast provided but there many several food options surrounding the hotel. Hotel Yan makes for a value-for- money simple stay. Just the basics given but in a classy mod budget hotel.

Loft Room Stay”
Staying at Hotel Yan was a very pleasant experience. They were very accommodating to my late arrival as I didn't get to the hotel until 1 am. The loft room I had was very tight, but still functional. The only real issue I had with the room was that there was no convenient way to open up your luggage to get to your items. I would say this room is best suited for someone staying only one night rather than multiple nights so they don't need to get to all of their belongings. The bed itself was very comfortable and I felt quite safe even with the small railing preventing you from rolling off the loft. The ladder was a bit steep, but there were plenty of railings to hold on to to help you up and down. My sink didn't work, but I was able to use my shower. The rainfall shower was a bonus for the room. Location was great, with a mall being less than 10 minutes away with lots of food options that are suited to both Asian and Western preferences.

super awesome room”
From the moment I opened the door I knew this was going to a great place to call home during our five day holiday in Singapore. The design was great--stained concrete floor and walls, a floor-to-ceiling wall of windows with views, very comfortable bed and every little detail was clearly well thought out. For example, the universal powerpoint with a small opening in the bedside table for a charger cable...that's just one of the many features that were fun to discover and which made our stay so comfortable. The service was equally excellent, with a friendly greeting each time we left and entered, the room looked like new each evening when we came home, and the location was just right for our needs--not at all touristy, good food across the street, and just a short walk to anyone of three train stations. We'll stay the Yan again and again.

A quaint cosy accommodation located in a very strategic area”
Was pleasantly surprised by Yan Hotel. I took a loft in this lovely boutique hotel which was well designed. Although initially apprehensive as room was advertised as 8 sqm, it was well designed with an exciting bunk bed concept. Didn't feel claustrophobic like other small rooms I've used in Singapore. Comfortable room with complimentary drinks and snacks. Customer service was also thoughtful, friendly and responsive. Only feedback I have is for a place nearby to hang your towel when using the shower. If not it can be cold getting out of the shower especially in the early morning :) Location wise, Yan Hotel is first class. 5-8 min walking distance to 2 MRT Stations, with loads of quaint Instagrammable cafes around the area (Two Bakers and Chye Seng Huat are standouts!). 2 Hawker Centres are also available with one open 24 hours!

Compact but clean, modern and functional ”
I was a little hesitant seeing the photos of the single room as it looked so small but on entering the room, it seemed roomier than I had first imagined, largely helped with the high ceilings. The bunk bed with desk underneath, and glass shower and toilet cubicles used space optimally. The mattress was very comfortable, Sealy, apparently. With the industrial chic style of the rooms and a very impressively designed reception area, the owners of hotel Yan have succeeded in creating a highly distinct yet modern and trendy feel that distinguishes itself well from the market. The hotel is about 8 minutes' walk from Lavender MRT station and surrounded by many hawker stalls and coffee shops. You won't get hungry around here. SGD18 to the airport. Facilities wise, a little more thought could have been thought towards adding more plug sockets and phone charging sockets in the room, as well as having a few door hangers or places to hang your clothes. The fridge could have been colder.

Nice but very small”
We had a lovely stay at Hotel Yan. The hotel itself is quiet modern, however the shower and toilet configuration was a little odd with the clear glass so people can see through if they're in the hallway. Also the shower and toilet share the same door, so if somebody's in the shower you can't close the door to the toilet at the same time or the water from the shower will spray to the hallway.

Great location, good value”
Hotel Yan isn't perfect. My fridge didn't work, there was no cold tap water and my view was neighbouring rooms. That being said, it was great for me. Within walking distance of two transit stations and surrounded by two hawker centres, cafes and bars, the location is ideal. If you want a private room a short distance from sights without breaking the bank, Hotel Yan is a great choice.

Nice Hotel, good location”
The Yan hotel is very clean and the staff are welcoming and helpful, they will put themselves out. The rooms are on the small side but are cheaper because of this. The room I had was quiet and had everything I needed. The shower was fantastic, there is a head up on the ceiling and it’s like standing under pouring warm rain, a great feeling. I would stay here again without hesitation.

An afforadble option in Singapore”
Finding an affordable hotel room in Singapore is a challenge. The Hotel Yan is located in Little India, not a long walk from the Lavender Metro Station. Our room was very quiet because it faced a large inner courtyard. The air conditioning is excellent, as is the rainfall shower. The rooms are small but adequate and designed for efficiency. We had a king-sized bed in our room, but there was still enough room for our luggage. There was a safe large enough to accommodate my laptop. The hotel provided various goodies for free including Coke, M&Ms Oreos, potato chips and two bottles of drinking water. There was a carafe to heat water. Instant coffee and tea bags were provided. Wi-Fi was provided and was reliable and speedy enough. Be sure to bring your own UK Style electrical outlet adapter. The hotel did not have adapters to loan so we had to go out and buy one for 590 Singapore dollars. If the location suits you the Yang and you can find a online deal, don't hesitate to choose the Yan. We give it four stars as an economy hotel, not in comparison with the Ritz Carlton.

We enjoy our stay here in Hotel Yan. Everything in their room are complimentary and they always refresh the stock everyday. We met the wife of the owner when she assisted us at their cafe and she is very friendly and accommodating.
