Hotel Yankin remains an outstanding hotel”
A lot has changed in a short period of time in now-bustling Yangon. But, for me, as a frequent traveller to Myanmar, one thing remains refreshingly the same. Hotel Yankin is a terrific value given its thoughtful, consistent staff, wonderful buffet breakfast, and perfect location (close enough to downtown but not too close). It's always nice to know that I can rely on Hotel Yankin for exceptional hospitality and a cozy stay.
Hotel Yankin is fantastic!”
As a frequent traveller to Yangon, I always select Hotel Yankin as my hotel of choice. The location is close enough to downtown for easy access without the noise and traffic. The staff are friendly and most have been with the hotel for years. The neighborhood has a terrific local market and several good restaurant choices. I always love being at Hotel Yankin!
Hotel Yankin Is Near-Perfect”
I travel to Yangon about 3 times per year, and Hotel Yankin is my favorite place to stay in the city. Yes, it is a bit outside of downtown, but it suits me to be in a quieter neighborhood. Everything else about the hotel is perfect: friendly staff, terrific facilities, great wifi connection, and excellent buffet breakfast with a wide range of choices. All of this at a very affordable price. I highly recommend it!!
Good value to a satisfied guest”
That was my fourth time came back to this hotel. I usually email directly to the hotel for my bookings because they give special rates to the returning guests like me. But this time i booked through Agoda because of my very last minute plan to come Yangon. Hotel Yankin is good value for money and convenient for me to go around different parts of Yangon.
My home in Yangon”
I have been staying at the Yankin hotel since January 7th and have made it my home whilst staying in Yangon. I have now booked through to the end of June. The location is convenient and the room and service excellent. Staff are helpful and the breakfast is good. Everything I need and excellent value for money.
Small & clean hotel in Yangon”
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Location: It's in Yankin (North side of Yangon). There is a Yangon Circular train stop near by 'Kanbe' station. The walk to this station was the best part of my Yangon trip! We got to see our neighborhood. It felt like we were in a movie... it was an amazing experience. The train ride was so much fun too... Not sure long it will stay this way but highly recommended! Hotel room: Spacious, clean, no problem at all. No issue with hot water. Wifi in the room. Small fridge, flat screen TV, hair dryer, kettle... Restaurant - Small area where they serve breakfast. Simple breakfast but not bad. Customer service: Staff are extremely helpful and accommodating. They let us check out at 3pm instead of usual noon with no extra charge too.. Most spoke good English. Highly recommended hotel! :-)
I thgink Agoda needs to review it's review process!”
I have already submitted multiple reviews for the Yankin hotel, which ahs been my home from home in Yangon from January 7th until today (May 4th). I am booked through until the end of June.
Very convenient and comfortable”
Being a regular business traveller in Yangon, I found Hotel Yankin matching perfectly my expectations. The rooms are big and comfortable, the service is excellent and the staff very friendly. Breakfast buffer is also very good with a variety of choice for either Westerns or Asian foods.
Stay at Hotel Yankin”
The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had local family members with us when we arrived, so the check in went very smoothly. We went traveling around the country, so did not stay there all the time. Our room was comfortable with good working aircon (necessary for us) and coffee making equipment provided. I did not like the '3-in-1 coffee', but that is a personal thing. Drinking water was provided every day. Breakfast was plentiful and lots of choice available. We had dinner there once, and it was very good. The staff were very helpful, in terms of changing money, carrying bags etc. We were with two other people in single rooms, who did stay there all the time, and they got extra care from the hotel manager (one was a 91 year old lady). On our departure day the manager let us have two rooms for the afternoon as our flight was later that day, which I thought was a lovely thing to do. If we go there again we would certainly book at the Yankin.
Comfortable, Value for Money”
I was well received by the hotel friendly staff. I was shown all the amenities in the room and use of safety box in the room. Room services were very good and amazingly fast. The bedroom was very clean. Bathroom room was clean too. Near the Inya Lake but 30 minutes from the City.
I have been staying at the Yankin hotel since January 7th and I am now booked through until the end of June. Excellent location, clean and friendly and great value for money. This is my home from home in Yangon.
Decent place to stay”
We planned for the itinerary (Inya Lake, Kanbe temples, etc) to be around Yankin, hence this location was good. Otherwise this is quite far from the city. Fish Tempura for the breakfast was good. The room was comfortable. The only issue was - everytime I booked a Grab/Uber, the room attendant kept suggesting me to book with his friend who would charge the same as Grab. I did try his friend, but his friend's car was in really bad condition. The security was very helpful in translating English to Burmese.
Excelllent value for money”
The hotel is close to where I work and represents great value for money. Everything I need, including a good breakfast each morning with plenty of variety. The room is well appointed with all amenities such as satellite TV, fridge, tea/coffee, safe etc. Bathroom and shower is also excellent. I have been staying at the Yankin hotel for r weeks now and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
Good comfortable value relatively close to the airport.”
This is a nice, clean, comfortable place not very close to any major attractions. We picked it as the staging point for our country departure because of the reasonable Agoda price and a location in the north part of town, to avoid excessive traffic when going to the airport. Actually the neighborhoods behind the hotel are quite interesting to see the very simple life of many poorer Yangon residents. A station on the aged circular commuter railway is also nearby, providing a cheap but slow way to get downtown. There are many restaurants around the hotel, but most are of the street food variety oriented towards the locals (no English menus or signs). The hotel restaurant does serve lunch and dinner, with room service being an option. The breakfast buffet is good, and custom eggs are an option. Helpful staff with good English. A good comfortable value with the Agoda discount.
Economic Value Hotel close to Yangon CBD”
Whilst the standard room is small it is functional despite difficulty with bathroom door striking end of bed. (Poor room layout design) Great air conditioner, television and bathroom facilities. (Hot and cold shower outlets) Bed small but clean and comfortable perfect for the single traveller, Wif fi was of good speed and reliability. Hotel staff were polite friendly and helpful. Whilst hotel is in Yankin Town just outside of Yangon CBD the main centre is easily accessed via cheap taxi cabs. Breakfast was buffet and very good value added to room. Asian and european cuisine. Area has few shops of interest to tourists with exception of Seven Star Cafe a short distance away which does passable coffee and good general snack food. Thoroughly recommend for single tourist traveller. Will personally use hotel again.
Friendly and comfortable”
I enjoyed my stay at Yankin so much I stayed an extra night. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff were fantastic. I am on a limited budget so the price for me is great - most hotels in Yangon are very expensive.
Great value hotel, clean and quiet, and very helpful staff”
Usually I stay downtown or in Sanchaung when I visit Yangon, but after being fed up being kept up all night with street dogs, bars and traffic noises I decided to try somewhere further out of town. If you want a good night's sleep then you'll definitely get it here! I was only in town for two nights but found it conveniently located, near to lots of food options and a short grab ride to Myanmar Plaza. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the shower isn't over the toilet like in many hotels. I found the staff very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast options were great! Really worth the price, will definitely stay here again.
Clean and spacious room, good location.”
I and my family stayed 4 days at roof top Deluxe Penthouse. Room is very clean and spacious and come with microwave, hot plate, kettle etc... and also nice city view and located at convenience location. Only thing that there were numbers of overhead water tanks on top of our room which produced noises in the middle of night it is may be the pumps are operating frequently and that may wake you up suddenly. Breakfast is normal. Worth for money. I have pleasant stay in Yankin Hotel during my trip. Will recommend
Clean & Comfortable, Friendly Staff”
Hotel Yankin was a good choice for me as it was not far from my office. However, it may not be the most convenient location for the leisure traveler looking to see the main sights in Yangon. The room was very clean and comfortable. The wifi was reasonably good for this city, and the generator was good to have as the power did go out a few times. The staff were very friendly and helpful when needed.
Best Hotel Travel Services”
I came into Yangoon exhausted and with not much time. I needed to hit the ground running to have a good experience my first time in Myanmar. The Yankin hotel helped me do that, saving me from potential aggregation while booking travel and accommodations. I would definitely return. It was both memorable and enjoyable, even during the busy and auspicious November full moon celebration, when traffic is bad and the temples are packed.
