This was my second visit to this property. Hands down its one the best Orchard road locations. Straddling the two MRT's of Somerset and and Orchard, adjoining the shopping centers of Ngee Ann City aka Takashimaya, ION Orchard, Wisma Atria, 313 Somerset and Centerpoint , you can shop to your hearts content and return to the hotel in 5 minutes. The staff here was exceptionally helpful. first with a early check in and my little quibbles for small additional services . The buffet breakfast had an extremely wide variety including Continental, Indian, Japaneses and Chinese fare. Something for every palate. They do have good deals if you book early. Otherwise pony up the rate you won't be disappointed in this 5 star experience.

We are so happy that we chose to spend 5 night a brand new Yotel. *The staff- Very polite caring and helpful. (the best staff we ever had in a hotel) They helped us with planning, adjusted for us the menu to our vegan twists, even cheak and printed for us information about an event in the city! *The location - Perfect location very close to ION mall and MRT station. we mostly used buses. it is nicer to see the city this way (bus stop is even closer and located in front of Thailand embassy) we also liked the hotel located on the beginning of Orchard street. it is very easy to take a bus to see all the street. Since it's a one way street you can get out each time in the stop you like. * The room - small as most rooms in Singapore hotels but designed very smart and functional! we felt like in a space-ship with cool view on the city skyline. * facilities - 10th floor is Amazing! the gym is very good and new! The restaurant is amazing with very good prices. We got a 50% discount for breakfast for choosing to eat only fruits and veges in the morning :) kitchen is open till 22:30 and we used to get nice evening vegan fruit and veges salad that was adjusted for us! Very Good, easy check in and check out, fast internet, easy to login, breakfast was good, eventough targetted for businessman, they are child friendly staff. Newly renovated room, cleanliness was superb, nice design for hotel bathroom. The best part of this hotel is located at central of Orchard shopping place. in front of Paragon, walking distance to 313 Somerset, Takasimaya Ngee Ann City, Wisma Atria and Tang Plaza. Also 5 minutes walking to nearest MRT Station, either Somerset Station or Orchard Station.

We, a young family with children, stayed at the Hotel Grand Central for 3 nights. The location is excellent, the facility around the area is very good, there's a laundromat (Ozone Wash & Dry) just outside the front of the hotel, some eateries which opened till very late (1:00AM?) and some very good western/mixed cultural foods all around. 313 @ Somerset, Plaza Singapura all within walking distance. Will definitely stay here again if we are around town.

good location, walking distance to orchard road and all major shopping malls especially 313 somerset. the shopping mall connected to the hotel however is on the low end side and is not really ideal for shopping sprees. the hotel itself is good value for the price. rooms are clean and modern and amenities are complete. service by staff was good as one of our rooms was upgraded for free to a premier room when our original deluxe room was not ready yet upon check in.

For our first stay in Singapore, we decided to book an "affordable" five star hotel . We were not dissapointed at all. The room, a simple deluxe room (2 kingsize beds), is not very spacious, but large enough to accomodate the 3 of us (3 year old daughter sleeping in a sleeping tent). The staff is so helpfull, especialy Alice, the lady from housekeeping (thanks again for the teddybear!!!). Check in and out went very smoothly. The outside renovation works on the building are still in progress, as well as in the rest of the street, access to the hotel doesnt suffer too much... Not to miss is breakfast!!! Quite expensive , but one of the best we ever had. If you decide to take the breakfast during your whole stay, I think there is a discount possible Breakfast is from 06.00 till 10.00, but be prepare to queu for 5 or 10 minutes... One of the great things is the location of this hotel: 100 m from Orchard, THE shopping paradise and very near to the subway (MRT)."

I have read a few negative reviews on many websites after I booked it so it got me a bit worried. But I hate to stay in tall buildings when I travel so I still went with my gut instinct about this hotel. Besides, comparing to other 5 star hotels charging crazy prices, it seems fair I could pay less and even got a junior suite. When I saw the hotel in person, I absolutely loved it. Their staff was friendly when we checked in and my 3 kids just went wild when they saw the size of the room!!! The junior suite has two large washroom, a sitting area with 2 couches, and a big bedroom+ giant closet. Since the 5 of us just jammed up in Shang-rila Sentosa for 4 nights before, this room gave the kids great space to run around and play hide and seek!! There are reviews I read about unfriendly hotel staff and I really do not understand how they rate "unfriendly". When I went to the check in counter to complain about my key mal-functioned at the door entering the hotel room area, the staff not only made sure we could get pass the door, he accompanied me to my room too to make sure I had no problem with my own room door. The staff at morning buffet were also smiling all the time. It is also located in a busy area and just minutes walk to Orchard Road. The famous Clark Quay is about 10 min away by taxi and we paid around SGD 20 to get there. The only two things I don't like about the hotel is 1. the cakes are not as tasty as it looks (well, I think I make better cheese cake) and 2. the bed is soooo strong and hard that I actually pulled up the sheets to make sure there IS a mattress underneath. Other then that, it is a great hotel!

We stayed for 3 nights here. The location is very nice. Its 5mins walk from Dhoby Ghaut MRT station near Plaza Singapora. It has 7-11 shops available near by so u can get your break fast/snack anytime while on your way out or back to hotel. It has a neat swimming pool on roof top accessible by lift 1 only with an outstanding view of the vicinity. Recommend a panoramic photo from there. Hotel has two entrances, the other one opens towards the main Orchard Road, where you can find a number of malls like Orchard Point, Orchard Central, Ngee Ann city center, 313 Somerset, Apple Store. This road has multiple bus stops. Get yourself a 3-days Singapore Tourist Pass for unlimited trips to MRT & Public busses. Both have a/c so thats a relieve in 35C temp during the day. The hotel has a Tour Desk where as i suggest using Klook app to book at activities ranging from Universal Studio, Sentosa fun pass, Zoo, Night Safari, Gardens by the bay, bird sanctuary etc. This way you will not need to stand in ticket lines. Just book and show the online receipt to the gate keepers who will let you in :) do visit asian museum on Raffles stop, Fullerton road for Merlion. Good quality shopping is available at Bugis Junction (Bugis stop via MRT and exit towards Bugis Junction). Do not goto Little India, its very dirty and a mall there with the name of Al Mustafa Center (although cheap) but has terrible / poor quality products. You will be disappointed. Visit East Coast bay near Marina bays for a quite beach spot. Good for camping. On your way out to Airport, book a taxi via Grab Ap and it will cost you a max of $17 SGD till terminal 4 airport. Upon arrival, get a $15 SGD sim from Klook app It will give you 100GB worth 4G internet And free calls to last you easily 8-10 days even. Pick up point at Cheers store on level 2. Use mini bus to reach your hotel. It will cost you $SGD 9 per person with a travel time of 25-30mins. Booking stand is location at last level. They charge credit card and d

We stayed in 1 bedroom deluxe with our 8yo boy & 1yo babygirl. We really enjoyed our stay in here. The room is big, very comfortable, very clean and a fully equipped kitchen Easy access to Orchard Road as it is connected to Paragon with the link bridge. We can walk on the other side also to 313 Somerset . Hotel staffs are nice also.. We surely will recommend friends / family to stay here and will stay in here again if we come to singapore

As an academic I am in Singapore for 2-3 days perhaps 4-5 times annually. Singapore is generally expensive, but there are three places I would think to stay as what I would call acceptable Singapore budget hotels. The RELC is probably my favorite, based upon location near the upper end of Orchard Road. The only thing I would really criticize there is the breakfast. Skip it in favor of Starbucks or McDonalds 300 meters away on Orchard Road. The facilities are limited to what I would call Asian three star standard, but you can go next door to the Shangrila if you need a nice upscale meeting place, etc. (burgers at the top-floor Shangrila Blu Bar are tastiest in Singapore in my opinion, if expensive). My second most favorite is the Ft Canning Lodge, a YWCA affiliate closer to the Clarke Quay and Parliament neighborhood. The breakfast is acceptable there, but the laundromat facilities are not as good as RELC. My third most favorite, a step down and which I typically only book if RELC or the Ft Canning Lodge are unavailable, are a couple of backpackers' hostels on Hong Kong Street, which have a few private rooms with shared bathroom facilities. If cost is a concern the hostel rooms are cheaper, but the trade off is that the bathroom facilities are shared (and the laundromat facilities are also below RELC or the Ft Canning Lodge). Hong Kong Street is well placed close to Boat Quay and the Parliament areas. I think there are two of the different chain hostels on Hong Kong Street, running under different names, but both have a few private rooms.

My second time staying in Novotel. New hotel, near Orchard road, but away from the bustling of Orchard crowd. A few not so positive things to note : 1. I didn’t not request for an extra bed, but when I got to my room, there was an extra bed inside. I had booked the room for one pax only. 2. For a relatively new hotel, the drainage system is not very well maintained, shower room floods every time i used it 3. Lacking basic toiletries in shower cap, soap dish. 4. Aircon system of Food Exchange not maintained. Water dripping from ceiling, and heavy water marks can be seen around the aircon vent. 5. The hotel could have provided more information on shuttle bus service from T Galleria back to hotel, give the location of the pick up point at T Galleria. Other than that, it’s a cosy place, friendly staff, clean environment.

The room had everything we needed. It was spacious. The bathroom in the master bedroom was a little bit small for me and my parents. I had to stay in the master bedroom because there were only 2 single beds in the 2nd room. This is good for 4 persons at best unless the 5th person is willing to sleep in the sofa or, like me, in the master bedroom. They had an assortment of food in the kitchen. It was in a basket. Really useful as we ate some of it. There is no cleaning service on Sunday and they change beddings only every other day. Overall though, everything was in top shape, service was great. The place is super clean! The view from our hotel room was nice! The bus stop was a bit of a walk though. We took a taxi everytime we had to go out which, when added together, got expensive in the end.

My stay in Supreme hotel was better than expected. Found the room on the old side but it was clean and the beds were spacious and comfortable. Toilet was also clean. Main thing is that it was very near orchard road and to all the new malls like 313 somerset and orchard central. Very Very near to the Somerset MRT as well. About 10mins slow walk to the MRT station. Food was not a problem as it is very near to food courts and also to orchard road malls. My only complaints were that the rooms had poor sound protection and any people walking in the hall outside will be heard in the room. Also was the poor lighting in the rooms that made the room very dark as the rooms only had 2 lights. one lamp bedside and one main light which was very small. This hotel is perfect for those not too fussy with aesthetics and looking for an affordable place within orchard.

We stayed at Holiday Inn Express for a family vacation. We took two rooms which upon our request were given next to each other. This hotel has Excellent location, just 2 minutes walk to the Orchard Road, all the malls are nearby Takashimaya, Ion Orchard, Lucky Plaza, 313 Somerset, Ngee City. If you stay in Singapore, there is no better place than to stay at Orchard Road. Reasonably priced & great facilities. Though they have various items for the breakfast but not much for Indian Travellers, i would suggest them to add a few indian breakfast items as well. Overall, Clean rooms, very very friendly & helpful staff. Refreshing fragrance in the hotel. Rooms are small but enough place for two persons to live in one room. Overall had a great experience, would like to stay here again whenever i travel to Singapore next.

It was my first time travelling out of country so I made sure I'd get the best hotel with cheaper price, and so I decided to book with Agoda. Checking in was fast. I spent not longer than 5 minutes and we were good to go in to our room. Check in should be at 2pm but we were made to check in an hour earlier since the room was ready when we got there. The hotel us quite far from famous tourist attractions but there is a bus stop just across the hotel in front of Raffles Girls School. Also, you can take taxi just in front of the hotel entrance, or take a Grab ride. Rooms were quite small but really clean. If you are a tourist and you spend most of your time outside, you wouldn't really mind the room size. I had a great time staying there. If I go back to Singapore, I would choose to stay here again.

Though it was only a 1 night stay, I was extremely satisfied with my stay. When I reached the reception, there was no staff available to me immediately but they kept advising me to take my seat while assuring that they will attend to me shortly and true enough, it wasn't a long wait. Upon check in, I was personally shown to my room by the same receptionist and introduced to all the different functionalities of the gadgets within the room as well as an overall introduction of the swimming pool/gym facilities and its opening hours etc. During my booking, I had informed them that it was my anniversary and that I would like to request for early check in to decorate the room before my partner comes. They tried their best with the request and I was granted an early check in! Knowing that I was going to be driving in and out to execute the surprise, she provided me with spare parking coupons so I would not have to keep going back to reception to ask for it. Also, our room was decorated with a pair of love swan towels and a complimentary cake in courtesy of HFC for our anniversary. After the introduction, the staff even reminded me of the complimentary evening drinks that came together with my booking and where it was taking place. On the day of checkout, I tried my luck to see if I could get a late checkout so we could spend more time there. Again, my request was granted. Overall I must say I'm really satisfied with the sincerity and hospitality of all the hotel staff there. They are a fine example of excellent customer service and I will definitely come back for another stay. I also love the colonial touch of the building amidst all that greenery and I specially love the scent at the hotel lobby. If possible, I hope to know the concoction of that scent. Thank you HFC for making my anniversary such a perfect and memorable one. I will be back again!

happy to stay in singapore marriott hotel at ochard road. always stay at this best location hotel if i travel to singapore. i always recommended this marriott hotel to my friends. really good location for shopping and dining. pub is just around the corner. supermarket just at the basement. atm machines just in front of the hotel main entrance. taxi stand just in front of the main entrance and always priority for hotel guest. everything provided in this hotel, free wifi only available at hotel lobby but not in the room. but recent stay, they started to provide free wifi for hotel guest, unlike last time need to pay for it. really convenience for people like me, lazy to walk and everything you need it you can get it immediately. staffs are friendly and always with greetings and smiles (^~^) hotel food always slurrrrrrppppppsssss~ yummy~ of course will stay there again for my next singapore trip. keep it up!

The location is absolutely superb. Only about 5minutes walk to Somerset station. Hotel is situated very close to shopping malls like Orchard Central and 313 (where you can find Somerset station). The service was very good. Housekeeping kept the rooms tidy and clean, and made sure toiletries were stocked. Every afternoon, one of the staff would deliver complimentary bottled water and ferrero rocher chocolates! They even offered "special" pillows like magnetic therapy, memory pillows, hypoallergenic pillows, etc., at your convenience. The rooms were really spacious with such a big window overlooking Orchard road. The rooms were good for 3-4 people. Big and spacious. There rooms were very comfortable to sleep in that we almost always overslept during the mornings. lol.

when we arrived at shangri-la we weren't really expecting anything too over the top as we had not heard much about the hotel or hotel chain before. the check-in service was fast and very smooth. we went to find the room but had a little trouble, so we asked one of the staff if he could help. he took us to our door and made sure everything was ok and if we needed anything. it was only after calling the reception to ask about the horizon club benifits and the location of the club lounge, that we found out our room was upgraded to valley wing deluxe. from the point we were made feel so special by the staff in the valley wing. the complimentary breakfast, the hor dourves and beverages are amazing. valley wing at shangri-la serve the best singapore sling, much better than any others i have tried. the rooms are very comfortable nice big bed, electronic everything, high-tech entertainment system, mood lighting and very clean. shangri-la has definatly taken the crown for best hotel in singapore in my books and that is out of alot of heavy hitting luxury hotels.

The location is the main part of my review. The locations is a bit far from the central orchard (takasimaya, paragon, etc) require about 3-5 minute walk via underpass to there. A bit far from me because the last time i stay in mandarin orchard (this hotel is centrally located). I think the room is a bit small compare to other hotel that i've been stayed in singapore. Other than that the service and staff are hilton standard, whiches a good one. One of the restaurant at the hotel are claimed one of the 50th best restaurant in the world by the brochure in the hotel. Oh by the way it doesn't have free wi-fi whiches disappointing and one time i take a shower the water heater is not working like it supposed to do (only slightly warm compare from the other time i used the shower)

Overall it was an awesome experience. The room was spacious, nicely furnished and decorated, bathroom was big and cosy, bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel is located really close to Orchard Road, a good 20-minutes leisurely stroll or about 2-3 bus stops away. It was not cheap, but it is worth every single cent we paid for. The brunch at Le Brezza was very good too, they have really nice and fresh seafood, best oysters we ever had. On the downside, we found the spread for the evening cocktail very limited. And I craved for ice cream and called the personal butler to find out what flavor ice creams they had, however, they couldn't tell me and I was only told 'seasonal flavors'. Nevertheless, this wouldn't stop me from going back to St.Regis again. We were very satisfied with our stay overall. Oh, not to forget, they upgraded us to a better room and arranged for late check-out without us asking for it even. Great value-added service! Two thumbs-up! Highly recommended.

We are locals and decided to take a 3 night getaway, attending a wedding dinner at the hotel on the 2nd night. We drove in on a Friday 30th Sept 2011 and checked out on Monday 3rd Oct - no problem getting complimentary parking coupons from the Concierge. Our request for a non-smoking quiet room on a higher floor was granted without fuss (1018). The room was decorated with warm colours and toiletries were "L'Occitane" products. This package came with an upgrade to the Deluxe room. We were very comfortable relaxing in the room which came with a study table and large screen TV, good supply of tea bags. A big bonus was the free internet service with came with the package. Bed was great for sleeping - nice big pillows. Its a good idea to give Housekeeping a call to make up the room when you go for breakfast. They attended to that efficiently. One thing that stood out for us at the Regent was the friendliness of the staff. A far cry from a 6 Star hotel down the road which is often cold and impersonal. So the smiles and pleasant service at The Regent truly made us very welcome. - The efficiency of the breakfast staff in clearing the plates on our table was very good. Staff Lin Chang stood out in this area - very sharp and quick. The breakfast spread served the best French Toast we have ever tasted (but it rotates with waffles & pancake on diff days - the french toast was served on Sat). Unfortunately our request for the French Toast the next day could not be met. Also the baked bacon (tad salty but tender) and honey ham was very nicely done. They served japanese rice & miso soup - but it was rather strange and didnt make sense for many of the condiments and pickles to be placed at another station near the fruits. Most of us wouldnt know there were other condiments for the rice. The Regent has managed to create a warm and welcoming ambience for us - most refreshing compared to many other hotels here. Most definitely recommend this hotel.

Lloyd's Inn is definitely a perfect getaway for couples looking to spend some time with their loved ones in a quiet and peaceful environment. The hotel is predominantly coloured in black and white, giving us the classic and chic feel and at the same time, coupled with patches of greenery which makes us feel close to nature. It also had a small dipping pool that complement the overall aesthetic of the hotel. It is strategically located between Somerset and Dhoby Ghaut MRT stations, both approximately 10 minutes walk from Lloyd's Inn, which houses well-known shopping places like 313 Somerset and Plaza Singapura and also, many restaurants and cafes for both locals and tourists, ranging from normal coffeeshop to high end delicacies. My girlfriend and I were given a complimentary upgrade to The Patio room, and were taken aback by their generosity. The room was much larger than expected and even had an outdoor bathroom (don't worry, it's covered from outside view). The bed was neither too soft nor too hard, and provided us with a good night sleep. We were initially concerned about insects mentioned in some reviews, but didn't faced any during our stay. As for breakfast, we were given complimentary tickets and chose Killiney Kopitiam (Kaya/French Toast with Soft-Boiled Egg and Coffee/Tea) over Freshly Baked (American Breakfast with $7 top-up). All in all, we love how detailed the room was designed and it really made us, as Singaporeans, feel that we are overseas! A shoutout to all their staffs for making our 3rd year anniversary a memorable and unforgettable one. Will definitely visit again!

Very friendly and welcoming staff team, every single person greeted us at all times even when we ran across them in the parking lot. We were shown around the property when we arrived and got to see all facilities. Breakfast was nice, always refilled with fresh fruit, toast etc. Free coffee 24 hours from machine in lobby. Nice gym area, open 24 hours. very nice pool area with plenty of shade and free pool towels. We booked a one room apartment which was very sufficient for one week, but had of course some minor limitations, such as only one comfy chair for 2 people (plus two kitchen chairs). No electrical outlet in the bathroom, so you must blowdry your hair in livingroom with no mirror. very convenient to have our own washing machine in the bathroom. a foldable hanging rack for clothes would have been perfect to have. upon arrival, basic set of groceries is provided, very convenient. plenty of supermarkets nearby, lookout for cold storage or fairprice shops. fresh drinking water provided daily and additionally upon request by reception. no housekeeping on weekends, but we were told we could ask for fresh towels from reception those days too. Residence location is off Orchard Rd on a side street, you can cross through to Scotts Plaza Hotel lobby via carpark. Orchard MRT station must be reached via underpass through 2 malls, which can be a bit tiring at times. would come again, mostly for friendly staff and great pool area.

How many 3 star hotels offer bedroom slippers, hair dryer, a fridge, a safe, and bathroom fittings reminiscent of a 4 or 5 star hotel? My only complaint was the noise from the water outlet in the bathroom. It's about a 400 metres walk on level ground from the train station and the bus stop is just outside the hotel. They have a shuttle to Orchard Road, the Botanic Gardens and also to the train station if one has a lot of luggage. The staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful; especially Mona!

My brother and his wife whom I booked the hotel for, enjoyed their stay in Fort Canning Lodge. Being first-timers in Singapore, I ensured that their hotel is close to mrt so that it will be convenient for them to commute. Given that shopping is also one of their activities, Fort Canning Lodge is most suitable as it is near Orchard and Somerset Roads yet it is not that expensive. They were happy and contented as checking in was a breeze and that the room is to their liking. The staff is also accommodating and that is a big factor for them.

Best location (near Ion Orchard, Hard Rock, Orchard MRT, Borders bookstore, and many restaurants). We booked for Standard Room and being upgraded during check-in without any charges. The room is big, with its own walking closet, LCD screen (even though view from the window was not so good, but it's OK). There's shuttle bus to Universal Studio (but not via versa). Clean. Mineral water, coffee, tea, toiletries, towel were replaced everyday. Better booking including breakfast, because it is cheaper than having breakfast on the sport at the hotel restaurant. But if you dont want breakfast at the hotel, there are many restaurant, food stall, as well as SevenEleven near the hotel. Directly next to the right of the hotel is Starbucks, Black Angus Steak, A Pizza/Pasta restaurant, also 7-11, hotdog and kebab booth. There is a facility for washing and drying clothers using paid machine on 6th Floor. Dont have time to try it, but it seems helpful for long time traveler. Overall, it is a value for money hotel, located @Orchard Road and price is still reasonable.
