"This hotel is situated right near the city hall, near the main "alun-alun" (where in the past, the alun-alun, a big field in front of a palace or main city hall is used for the citizens to gather). The area still has many old colonial buildings which have been well preserved. The hotel is, in fact, a very old building. It is in a very safe and green neighbourhood, so it's perfect for those who like to jog in the morning. The hotel has an admirable collection of chinese-malay-indonesian-colonial antiques. Some of the collections are creepy (including a portrait of a lady with a very long hair in long white gown standing in front of a mirror). The interior design of the rooms is a quirky mix of javanese and chinese (baba) tones. The restaurant offers a fantastic set of menu ranging from traditional javanese menu to modern western food. The wine collection is fantastic, albeit expensive, and the bar has a great ambience. The service is also top notch. The staff are very helpful, curteous, polite and knowledgable. Most of them speak English very well. This is arguable the best hotel in Malang."

"this was my 1st visit to Malang, a nice city - and luckily the hotel location is quite near to few city interest, such as ijen road, toko oen, alun-alun etc. I would suggest to have the hotel to be renovate, at least for its decoration and furniture interior, because its quite old and will then give impression that it is not clean. "Was passing through for a day from Batu to Surabaya. Hotel is located in old town, nothing much nearby except for McD. Breakfast was good but hotel is only 3 storey, so need walk up stairs. Room is reasonable. The reception staff (Ms Mala) was extremely helpful, she help us book the Bima train tickets to Surabaya for the next day and went to collect the tickets from Station during her off-duty hrs to give us the ticket during breakfast the next morning. Very commendable... best hotel staff I have met during my years of travel. Will stay again."

"This old hotel but well maintain. just walk 1 minute then arrive at Alun-Alun of Malang city. Also very near to Masjid Agung where as a moslem I can have prayers. The only issue for us on those days were the WIFI in our room was not working properly, hence, we have to connect to other rooms WIFI but then the connectivity was not good enough."

"the rooms are nice and clean.the decoration of the lobby is beautiful and pleasant looking. breakfastis excellent with varieties of food. the hotel stuff is friendly and helpful. a great convenience for out going for shopping by walking .there are shopping centres and restaurants around within walking distances.only that the walk inhotel price seems cheaper ."
