It was such a pleasant surprise to stumble across this superb hotel and restaurant in Chanthaburi. We were there for just one night in December, we will certainly be back again. A modern, spacious hotel with a nice pool. It's within walking distance to Robinson department store. The rooms are smart and modern with good quality bed linen. We chose the room with a jacuzzi on the balcony, and it was delightful to enjoy the bubbles in the warm evening air by candle light. The visit to the restaurant for our evening meal was a real surprise. The restaurant manager is charming and speaks excellent English. He really went out of his way to ensure that our every need was met. The Chef deserves special mention. The food that he prepared was absolutely superb. Without doubt, it was one of the best meals that I have enjoyed in the 16 years that I have been visiting Thailand. I rank the food as good as, if not better than, the top restaurants I have dined at in Bangkok and London. The fresh ingredients were cooked to perfection and presented as a work of art. Absolutely delicious food.

My bestie and I are doing a backpacking trip here in Chanthaburi. We spent 2 nights at this hotel. It was fantastic! The hotel provided bolster for each of us as requested. Sadly, we just knew on our check-out day that you can actually choose the level of softness of the pillow (as I remember, there were 3 types of it). Moreover, the breakfast was nice (do not expect that it will be international buffet, only Thai dishes). Overall, it was a very nice hotel.

The positives: good location (anywhere in Chanthaburi you need a car anyway), quite area with a lot of green around, relatively new premises, modern, pool is nice. the not-so-positives: most rooms don't overlook the river (which is the best feature around), the breakfast is a joke, the hotel has no real flair. It seems someone had too much money and wanted to invest it quickly, so... let's build a hotel somewhere. It lacks atmosphere and soul, it's just rooms, a pool, a breakfast/dining room, that happen to be in a nice spot. It's not nice of me to write that, but just 1.5km away is a hotel (D V..) that has everything in a similar price range.

I was trying to book this hotel since last year. Sadly I didn’t make it happen. The hotel is very clean and new, I love the way this hotel try to distinguish from other hotel in Chanthaburi, an art space could represent a new era of the hotel running by the new age of local people. I love the way this hotel present its nature and environment, good luck for us we been there in a rainy day which we really love it.

The Kasemsarn is located near the centre of Chanthaburi, very close to the river and a few minutes walk to the town market. The hotel is a modern Thai style hotel with some boutique styling, and the service was helpful and pleasant. Breakfast, a restaurant and a coffee shop are available at the hotel, though it is located only a 2 minute walk from the riverside where there are a number of restaurants, coffee shops and bars easily available. The gem market for which Chanthaburi is famous is about a 5-10 minute walk away. The room was a good size and well maintained and clean, though the bathroom was very small.

Riverawan is a modern, beautifully situated Hotel on the banks of the Chanthaburi River approximately 3k outside of the city center. Rooms are overlooking the swimming pool and the the nearby river and come with all the obvious amenities. Hotel facilities, swimming pool and public areas are clean and well maintained. Staff is friendly although less flexible and supportive compared to other places in Thailand. Few downsides - for a price of 1'200 THB one would think a breakfast could be included. Likewise the own branded bottle water tasted very salty and thus was inedible. Finally upon check out - credit card facilities were only available over 1'200 THB which is unacceptable and contrary to customary use in Thailand where typically a 500 THB limit is used for cash/credit payment. Apart from that we enjoyed the tranquilly setting of the place and the pool!

Another trip to Chanthaburi, another night at KP Grand... Within walking distance to Robinson Shopping Center, local market, taxi stand, gem trade, restaurants. Accross the road there is a 7/11. The hotel is as relaxed as Chanthaburi city, no pushy vendors or scams here. Would you believe that several times vendors refused the tip I wanted to give??? And almost no farangs here... Unfortunately, Chanthaburi does not have much to offer to tourists. But the city (and KP) is an excellent place to relax for a day, perhaps as a stopover between Kampuchea and BKK. And of course it is Thailands best place to buy gems.

Came in to Chanthaburi for a very quick one night (24hrs) to meet some local friends. The only hotel I know that suits me is Tamajun Hotel. Same glorious view of the Chanthaburi river with the entire stretch of the Chanthaburi waterfront community at my doorstep. Wake up in the morning to have fresh hot breakfast from the many stalls selling local handmade, homemade delights. Sweets, treats or the whole meal. At night, whet your appetite as you walk past Steak In Time with fresh and hot BBQ chicken, pork or beef. If you prefer Thai food, many options are available from traditional to fusion. Coffee is best had at CAP. The baristas there will glady help you make your choice with the many blends and flavours available. At Tamajun, wine and dine the night away with a band that entertains with live music, music any way you want as they take requests if you rather hear a song you like. The main market is within walking distance and if you are coming to/fro the Chanthaburi bus station (from Bangkok, or Suvarnabhumi), your walk is approx 15-20mins. Stay for a night, or longer at Tamajun. Be greeted and served by very willing and friendly staff who do their very best to make your stay most memorable.

very value for money at this price range (about 500-600 baht). similar quality hotels in the area would probably be 40-80% more. New and clean, with fresh and thick towels, clean sheets, big pillows, good wifi, strong water pressure in shower. All you need really for a night's stay. no breakfast provided but they provide free hot water, coffee, chocolate, instant cup noodles and porridge in the lobby. Bed is a little hard, but nothing too negative. Must have own transport, slightly out of the city centre, but lesser to drive when going out of the city to explore. They only allow (paid) extension of 1 & 2 hours for check out, no half day. Any more and will be considered a full day's payment. Which is a pity to me as all we wanted was a shower as we left chanthaburi in the evening. Just a note. Will surely stay here again if in the area.

This place is for those looking for a place with air-conditioning to sleep next to river. It is very easy to get to I walked with backpack from bus terminal. The second floor port to river is worth the visit. The staff is friendly, I had two nights and ended staying two more. The rooms are basic with tv , mirror , restroom clean. The negative side of it is walking up the stairs. No elevator so make sure you Change room lower floors, but my room 5th floor was good for me. The free coffee is a plus in lobby , there are good eateries and friendly small shop across the hotel with Chang and other treats. I would stay here again for no luxury cheap chanthaburi stay.

Just like I read in the reviews it's a very pleasant hotel with a friendly staff and manager. The manager speaks some English and is very helpful. Check-in was efficient and check out was just a key drop. The room is large and very clean with good aircon and so quiet, day and night! It's located about 2 km from the bus station and the start of the old street and less than a 15 min walk to a Tesco Lotus with a supermarket, many stores and a food court. There doesn't seem to be a restaurant so no breakfast is served but you can enjoy free coffee. There are some small local restaurants nearby. There is no English name on the hotel, the first time I walked right past it!

The hotel is really good building , big hotel. Is missing some things important things like breakfast . ( no breakfast ) no coffee ) nothing you can buy in hotel for to eat Buy i have find the room clean and good in the ground floor. If the owners will give attention for this hotel they can make him really much more important. I like to say the true, the hotel big also rooms large , everythings ok. Just need more workers and more programs potions( but the hotel is ok

This is an older hotel, but it is kept quite clean. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful, as are the restaurant staff. Good location, easy parking, good breakfast buffet included with my room. My room had twin beds; due to my height I prefer a double or queen size bed, but there weren't any available on the holiday weekend I stayed there. I would go back to this hotel.

If you want just a room for one night or longer then this hotel will suit very well at a very reasonable price. The rooms are clean and of a very good size with both a bedroom and sitting area but there are at present no restaurant facilities apart from coffee/tea. In addition you also need to have your own transport as it is not in the center of Chanthaburi and there are only one or two restaurants close by (which we did not try). We used it for a one night stop over while visiting Khao Khitchakut for which it was excellent - also has some very helpful and friendly staff.
