Everything in this hotel is perfect. Location is superb, whether it's for food trip or staycation. There's a direct bus going back to CIQ. There are a lot of cheap massage parlors around - shoutout to JC Cupping for their great massage. They will really fix your muscle aches. Food, food selection is all around on a cheap price. I really prefer to hang around in KSL City rather than City Square because of the cheap but great food selection. KSL Hotel breakfast buffet is the best selection I've seen in Malaysia. It represents all national food with quality and pride. I bet their Lunch & Dinner buffet is excellent as well. Room, I so like the space given on each room, it's so spacy. The room is also spotless. Staff are all friendly and approachable. Overall, if you have money to spare on their pricing, do not look at other hotels, this is it! Perfect for all activities you have in mind at KSL City.

My room located at Non-Smoking Floor . Double room (QSB) . Spacious room space . Comfy bed and pillows . Bathroom with bathtub , but the tub looks quite unpleasant so we didn't soak in the tub, just shower . Complete toiletry kits with toothbrush. Housekeeping service everyday . Coffee and tea making facilities , iron+ironing board and hairdryer in the room . Changed the used complementary item everyday (coffee, tea & toiletries). A walkway bridge attached to Persada JB . Nearest ATM/bank is Bank Rakyat (Menara Ansar) just few steps away from the hotel entrance. Walking distance to shopping area (CitySquare, Galeria, JBCC, BazarKarat & etc) . Room Service is very helpful, able to reheat our food (midnight) . TV able to play from media storage ( picture, music & video) . Bathroom exhaust ventilation fan not working . Adjustable AC temperature . Swimming pool only for them who have swimming attire only . Free on-site parking for guest . Latest checkout that allowed is at 13:00pm . Deposit RM200 for the first night and RM100 for the subsequent day . Didnt managed to try the food so no words for the cooks. The hotel is quite aged, but they try to maintain the quality of 4 star hotel . Overal , okay .

It was a pleasent stay, good deco, courteouse staff, comfortable bed, relaxing enviroment. Location wise it is great, with all the great choise of food selectiom within walking distance of the hotel. Because of the location, traffic is hectic most if the time, so its best to take "Grab" out from Amari and meet your friend somewhere else, because it may take longer time for your frend to come pick you up with the hectic traffic. The pool view room window is way too close for comfort with the opposite apartment, literary can see into each others room clearly. The in room safe is not mounted down to something, and its lightweight enough for a teenager to just pick up the safe. For a 5 star hotel, these can be improve upon. The toilet mini soap holder and cup is the transpatent plastic type, which agian; for a 5 star hotel seems kinda odd. Pool is kinda small but nice, because its not always pack; so one can enjoy by the pool side relaxing. Overall, i would recommend to stay here for friends and relative. Above mention just play to personal prefferenfe and impression. For location, price, and reknown wise; Amari JB is a choise to look at for lodging in JB.

the location is easy access by car,bus and taxi.this hotel is very near plaza pelangi and ksl.lobby is so so but the room is superb.the room is quite big for 2 people and beautiful design and decorations like sofa and working table.the bathroom is nice and with bathtub.breakfast is excellent and many choices.this hotel is one of the best in johor bahru and this is just 3 stars hotel but look like 4 stars hotel.but the swimming pool is indoor,cold and does not look clear.but gym and sauna is basic but it is good enough.

I am a regular guest at The Thistle because of its convenient location in JB and fast route to the major highways. While the service and facilities have been exemplary, on this recent trip I was surprised to be charged 100RM upon checking in. This would have been drawn from my credit card for possible incidentals. Refund will only be made in 7-10 days time subject to the issuing bank. This caught me by surprise as a regular guest and the inconvenience of waiting that long for a refund was not very welcoming. Some hotels will take an imprint of the credit card but no instant withdrawals. I sense this new policy is due to a few abuses by hotel guests. It is understandable but should not be assumed. The staff went beyond policy and did not take my credit card. I hardly use the free amenities in the room anyway and the mini bar is never stocked. I hope the Thistle can be more discerning who their customers are even if they book with Agoda. I hope this is not the case. I commend them for acting in good faith and for this will continue to return to stay there. But for other travellers even on business, do take note of a pre-payment but refundable 100 RM charge. But getting it back may not be as easy or fast, knowing banks. Its a tedious process for some.

A lot of people misunderstood the hotel star rating. Hotel star rating just base on what amenity is offered by the hotel. Meaning as long as the hotel offer these amenities it still count as part of their stars. Mutiara is no doubt a 5star hotel, it have all the 5star requirement box ticked, starting with their 24hr front desk and room service. I must say their staffs are very efficient. The check-in is smooth and quick. Later, I call for them to bring us extra towels and bathrobe, which they did promptly. On our second night I ask them if we can loan a wine opener and few minutes later their staff came and even help us open our wine. The room itself is a bit small compared to other 5star hotel in Malaysia but it is clean, well equipped and cozy. The bed is comfortable with a lot of soft pillows. We had a good sleep at night. No noise at all and the temperature control are good. They have a full mini bar although its not complimentary and the price is 5 time more expensive. We got a room on the fourth floor facing the housing area. Not much of a view. The bathroom got a complete set of towels and accessories although bath and shower are not separated. Although Mutiara have a fine selection of restaurant, we only have the time to try Capri, their Italian café and we had a very nice dinner here. As for surrounding area, its next to Holiday Plaza and walking distance to KSL City. Theres also a very nice day spa right across the hotel. Overall mutiara for me is a bit old, but still the best hotel in JB. Two thumps up.

Check In & Check Out : Quite Slow for some reasons? When I was there the system is down Im like wth is this a bank? Lol. But the friendly staff will calm you down anyway lol. Good job guys! Room : Very nice decor & setup. Executive vibe. Lighting is awesome. Shower : The best shower experience with the rain type of shower. However a small plasma tv is required on the bathroom pls? Breakfast : So good. Wide spread. Cheap. RM44 net per person for double tree thats awesome! Verdict : The best hotel in JB overall. Thistle is nice but the location is bad. Doubletree JB just killed it ;)

During my checkin, the receptionist failed to see my booking and told me she cant see ny booking in their system. So she still asked for my booking reference no. from Agoda. After one of the guy manager intervened, they were able to see it and they upgraded me to a super king size bed room (that was so nice of them and appreciated it). Again just like most hotels in Malaysia, they requested for the refundable 50 RM deposit plus the 10 RM Tourist tax which is not refundable. The room is clean enough and the bed sheets and pillow are soft and clean. What I like about the toilet is the water pressure in their shower, its strong. Toilet is big in the room they offered me for upgrade. WIFI is not that good and unstable at times...good thing I have local sim card with 4g connection. Overall it was a pleasant stay except during the checkin. Will consider to stay again when I overnight in JB.

Stayed for a night in their one bedroom, it was beyond my expectation and far best stay so far in Johor Bahru. Apartment is newly opened. The parking was quite safe and I can assure that - especially for Singaporeans who have second thoughts on parking their motorbikes in Johor Bahru. The security guards were very attentive, seen them doing round checks in the premises. The check in was swift and the rooms are really clean and comfortable. Check in time was at 3pm but we checked in way earlier around 2pm. Was issued a room key however it was not really ready when we were outside our room. Waited for 10 minutes to be in the room but it is fine for me. Location is good for solo travellers too as the hotel was just a walking distance to Komtar JBCC and City Square. There’s 7-11 convenient store just right at the hotel lobby in case you need to get something urgently. Now, the cons about the apartment was the parking you have to pay on your own. (It comes with a price I guess) And the major turn off - their housekeeper was very rude. Knocked the door several times at 10:45AM to tell us to check out when we clearly knew the check out time was 12PM. Leave that alone, the housekeeper repeatedly knocked the door again at 12PM SHARP. How intense was that. I dont remember requesting the front desk to get someone for my wake up call. She was also rude when we asked the other housekeeper to confirm the check out time. She gave us her unpleasant death stare and walked away when the other housekeeper was apologizing on her behalf. Very rude and unprofessional. I hope the management can look into this matter. Other than that, theres nothing much to point out. Will still give the 5 star rating!

I remember when I want to book this hotel and my mom said don't trust the photo because we might get different and worse than the pictures displayed. But little did we know that the hotel is actually pretty good. The room is spacious, very clean, nice view, friendly staff and the room smells so good when we enter. You can park your car outside the hotel with a guard on the watch. Also there is 7-11 store beside the hotel in case you wanna grab anything in the middle of the night. I will definitely come back here when I visit JB.

check in was delayed a little but service staff did tried their best to get the room as soon as possible and allowed us to have a late check out. rooms were clean and nice. beautiful sea view and the singapore malaysia causeway bridge. swimming pool was clean and nice.did not have much chlorine content which was good. staff were very efficient when we requested few things for example extra swimming towel and a bucket of ice. the only negative thing would be that they charged 5 ringgit for the bucket of ice. hotel didnt have any food place around. had to take a taxi to zon or to city sqaure but didnt cost much.breakfast spread was good just that some food was cold. overall was a pleasant stay in this hotel.would recommend anyone who wants a relaxed and peaceful environment to stay in this hotel. we will go back to this hotel again.

We frequent JB, at least once a month hence we are always on a lookout for an affordable yet pleasant stay and we have tried a few good and a couple of bad hotels. Dare we say this is by far the best budget boutique hotel in JB presently. Belllo is new, about a month young hence it is too early to give a fair review but we will be back to review it in 6 months and 1 year. We stayed in the deluxe room 306 which greeted us as we stepped out of the lift. The room was small but cosy and functional. The interior was sleek and contemporary with a window beside the queen size bed. There is a mini fridge and a safety deposit box. We love the rain shower. The air-con is centralized with a controller on the wall - choose "cool" mode, set temp to 23 deg and fan on high and unwind. The soft queen size bed was perfect for two and felt almost like we're floating on clouds. I think they used feather pillows; pillows were good but we had to fold them to be comfortable so we asked for two more. Singapore and Malaysia TV channels in English, Malay, Chinese, Indian and Cable TV such as StarWorld and HBO are available and most are clear. This is important because we love staying in the room. Check in and check out was a breeze. We were greeted by three different receptionists during the course of our stay, one of them was the manager and all of them were pleasant and nice. Even the security guards and housekeeping was smiling and friendly. 2 mins walk from the hotel is the the Meldrum Walk street food, walk 3 mins to City Square Shopping Centre and 5 mins walk to Komtar JBCC. Stay up late shopping at these two shopping malls or catch a midnight movie and not worry about catching a cab. We are very pleased with Belllo and look forward to make it our main stay. We hope that they will keep to their current standards in the years to come as many new hotels in JB are too quick to lose their touch and suffer many complaints from bad customer service to faulty and issues in the rooms.

i only stay 1 nite at the hotel, overall is a great hotel. they have spacious, clean and tidy hotel rooms, great services by the helpful reception. the location of this hotel is great too, just opposite of the big shopping centre city square, many taxi around, shops and restaurant everywhere, is like the centre of the city. even the custom malaysia is just 5 mins walk only, u can enter singapore easily through the custom malaysia. everything u want or need can easily find around the hotel such as bank, money changer, 24hrs store, restaurant and food stalls, etc...

We stayed at KSL a couple of years and back and decided to try Crystal Crown due to its close proximity and relatively cheaper rates. At CC, you didn't have to fight with the crowds for check-in and and the lift. I read the reviews made by previous guests about the wifi, but wifi wasn't a problem except for a 2-hour shut out at 11pm. There were lots of routers along the corridor. The bed was good and clean, and had many pillows. The only issue I had with the hotel was the water pressure from the shower. Our rooms were on the 2nd highest floor and we booked their 2nd best available room. Since we paid only $65sgd for the room, we should not have too high an expectation. we will certainly be back.

I read one of the reviews that she booked this hotel to celebrate a birthday and requested for decorations in the room and actually got it. So my boyfriend and i were just thinking of whether we should stay for the night after doing some visitings, and we were looking for affordable yet convenient location to KSL since we would hang out there till late. And i managed to grab the last room here at 1pm on the same day. Made my request in the box during booking - requested for a birthday decoration as it would be a surprise + an anniversary staycation. You know how such special requests usually wont go through to the hotel, or maybe some hotels just dont care / bother. So i tried my luck and left a request whether i get it or not it'll just be a bonus since i already got to book the room at a steal! :) But to my surprise, i actually received an email reply from the hotel to say they have noted my requests and will get it done. I replied back and told them if they cant make it in time for my check in at 4pm, they can do it by 10pm. But by about 3pm, they replied that the decoration has already been done and i could check in anytime. I was really impressed. We walked over from KSL about 7mins walk, and upon check in i was told that the hotel actually gave us a free room upgrade. So instead of 1 queen bed, we actually got an extra single bed in the room. Which was a really nice gesture. Just nice my sis was in JB too so she came along and we had a mini birthday celebration for my bf. I would really like to thank the staffs of Hallmark Regency Hotel especially those who had replied to my emails during the course of my pre-stay and stay (cos i had other carpark questions as well). Thanks for letting us have such a memorable and wonderful stay, and at such an affordable price. I would definitely recommend my friends and come back for my future staycations in JB. :) 5 stars is definitely not enough! heh Cheers!

Stayed one night whilst visiting JB. I am a seasoned traveller, always going for quality but at the same time not breaking the bank to have it. For the money I paid, this was excellent. Clean rooms, excellent rain shower bathroom, friendly and diligent staff. Best of all, really nice coffee at breakfast along with the standard nasi lemak and other western food like sausage and halal hams (only in Malaysia). Would stay here again if the price doesn't change. Would rate it excellent 3 star hotel or a decent 4 stars.

Its the best hotel in Johor. you can find the location is very strategic. for those who wish to enter Singapore without living there, you can check in at this hotel. it is near to the Imigration / Singapore-malaysia bridge if you wish to drive / using public transport. at noght, you can find rows of bar and night clubs around the hotel. the beverages are cheap as it is located at the free duty zon. during day time you can go shopping for free duty items at the mall just beside the hote. i love this hotel

Our 2nd visit here. Fairly new and nicely decorated hotel with lift to hotel room, and friendly reception. Good walking distance from city square 5-7mins, including one short stretch of stairs. Room is comfortably sized with large nice bed. Sheets are clean, housekeeping is acceptable, facilities are basic and includes mini fridge, bottled water, clothes hanger, clear towels, basic toiletries and hair dryer (by request). Nice and basic interior deco with shophouse windows and semi-blackout curtains. Bathroom with exhaust was good. Overall great great stay. Only consideration would be sound insulation -was not the best, nearby construction noise could be problem for light sleeper. For perfection, consider better toiletries, more tv channels and hot water for late night supper!

Seen the appearance of the hotel and it looks like a shop lot hotel but when my gf and I enter the room, it is unexpectedly clean and well maintained, far better than some of the 3 or 4 stars hotel that we stayed in central peninsula Malaysia. Launched complaint to the reception desk, at first I expected no action would have been taken as it is more likely to be Malaysian service style but they considered thoroughly regarding the issue I raised and upgraded my room. Great efforts could be seen in maintaining in the hotel such as touch screen hotel lift control panel, vending machines and additional computers in the lobby for guest Internet surfing.

Hotel staff are so kind and friendly and cooperative.and i noticed this is the general attitudes of johor bahru people ,staff,taxi drivers,legoland staff....etc. which is really amazing and very unique compared to other cities of Malaysia. Hotel is simple and clean located just cross the road to city center shops and restaurants and cafe .also walking distance to jb station and mall. It located near to jb-singapore bridge near to the water strain. Breakfasr is very simple and i think need to be improved.other than that hotel was a great choice .

Hotel CIQ is located in the city. Just a walking distance to City Square Mall, Kota Raya Bus Station and Malaysia Immigration. Those who want to travel to Singapore but prefer to stay in Johor Bharu, Hotel CIQ is one of the good budget hotels. The staffs in CIQ are friendly and willing to help. The room condition is clean and comfortable. Air-conditioner and toilet are functioning well. Toilet, bed sheets and towels are clean. The room is appropriately equipped with safety box for travelers,electronic kettle, water jar, and cups for coffee making. Two coffee and tea sachets are provided too for each day. You may boil water and cool it down before keep in the jar. There are shops too just opposite the hotel. Travelers can easily access to the grocery stores for basic necessities such as mineral water, soap, shampoo, snacks and etc. There are chinese restaurants too open from late noon till midnight with affordable price for varieties of fried noodles. There is a restaurant with minor decoration and clean ( a lil bit like Taiwan style), which open in the morning until 3pm, serves very nice curry fish head. Worth to try! The vicinity of the hotel does look a bit dark as the street is brighten only with yellow lights. For single travelers, you might need to practice more cautions but if you go in a group, it is safer.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night and booked for a family room. The room was very clean. This family room doesn’t have any windows, so you might need to inform them earlier if you need a room with windows. Staffs are so nice and helpful. There was even a ‘mini grocery store’ at the lobby - which my kids love it! It is one of the best value hotel i have stayed. Thank you 😁

I booked 2 rooms, 1 deluxe room with double bed & 1 standard room with 2 single beds. The rooms are in different building, however, when we came in, they said that they upgraded our room to deluxe from standard room (with no additional payment) which is very convenient to us. The rooms are very cheap only as I got promotional price via agoda.com. Buffet breakfast is also included. The receptionists/staff are very approachable. Suria hotel is very near in JB Malaysia Immigration, and 5 minutes away via taxi from City Square mall.

great place to get away from town, yet easily accessible with paid shuttle bus to jb icq. very good international spread, seldom found in malaysia hotel. next to a ksl city shopping mall and opposite is the aging holiday plaza. lots of eateries. so, eat and eat. negative : 1) near to ktvs and discotech, booming away at night to wee hours. can be heard in the quite bedroom. boom you to sleep.

Best rate will be when you book through Agoda. Beautiful stay.

Geat value for money. i booked the room with shared toilet and i had the good surprise to find a shower and a washbasin in my room (actually ony the toilet was shared and it came as a good news). The hotel is ideally located at 5 min walk from jb sentral and from the city tower (& the huge shopping mall)....i have to admit i had mixed feelings about the location at first sight (some drunk people, some prostitutes and some cops in the small meldrum street) But after 6 nights at meldrum hotel, i realized that everybody is living in absolute peace here and the atmosphere is just great ! i felt like i was in one of the streets of the movie "blade runner" ! Many restaurants and food stalls in the tiny streets around, many shops, 7eleven, laundry etc, many great people from many different origins. ....Quiet place and The staff is very helpful. i recommend.
