I booked this just before Christmas and was lucky to get a room at all. The hotel is located fairly conveniently, almost central to wherever you'd want to go in Bangkok. The room (we had a "Superior" which I took because my better half wanted a bathtub) was clean and nice. Twin beds but that wasn't a problem. The usual amenities in the room (fridge, free bottles of water, water kettle, instant coffee, hair dryer, room safe, etc). It has a nice (small) pool/bar/dining area on the 11th floor as well as a number of other places to eat (Sushi Bar on 11th floor of Tower C and a couple other eating places, plus a Chinese restaurant on the 32nd floor of Tower A). Didn't have time to check out the spa, fitness center or massage facilities. Some good views of the city (looking West & South) from the Pool area. It's very "busy" right outside the front of the hotel ! There is a klong (canal) off to one side with boat taxis. In front of the hotel is the Bobae Market area. Lots and lots of small shops selling a variety of items. There is also a kind of department store that occupies the bottom 6 floors on one side of the hotel. Hundreds and hundreds of small shops selling clothing, shoes, luggage, etc. The only complaints I could make are, the water pressure for the shower (our room was on the 23rd floor) wasn't great (but was OK for running a bath). And the prices for room service were rather high ! (130 baht for a bottle of water, 150 baht for a soda !) Fortunately there is a 7-11 nearby so you can just load up on snacks/drinks and then stick them in the (mid-sized) fridge in your room. Otherwise, the hotel is fairly close to the Grand Palace, Khao San Road, China Town and many other attractions. There are metered taxis, tuk-tuks and moto-taxis available at the front of the hotel. The staff were great, the place is clean and if I make another trip into the city I would definitely consider staying there again.

This hotel is new and I am happy to say the staff are very helpful and professional. The rooftop pool is small but immaculate and plenty of lounge chairs. Located close to Khao San Road ,street food and restaurants makes this ideal. We booked a room with a canal view,not spectacular view but much better than most outlooks. Breakfast was good,serve from 6.30 which suited us plus sitting overlooking and watching the canal activities is quite enjoyable. Would definitely stay again. Could not find any fault ,best we have stayed at in 10 years of visiting Bangkok.

This is a great value on Agoda. Was one of best hotels I ever stayed in. Breakfast was outstanding. Is a very easy location for touring old Bangkok. Easy walk to the water taxi which is definitely the way to get from here to Grand Palace, Wat Arun and Wat Po. Very short walk to Khao San. Is 1/2 block from nice Khlong for a morning stroll. A very beautiful temple is right across the Khlong and one short block if you like to listen to the monks chanting in the morning. It's definitely very 4 star, very fancy glass shower, nice clean and tasteful modern design in rooms and bathroom. All around a great value at Agoda price. In States would be a $200+ room.

Booked 3 rooms. All different ‘taste’ & ‘feeling’ room 501 has the smallest size of all the room. Quiet at night because facing the pool (not the road). Room 505 has the BEST above all 3 room. Quiet & big size room Room 516: big size room, yet at night has the sound of the bass from the music outside. Yes! Location is awesome though. Lots of food & shopping are available just outside from the hotel. Khaoshan road night market is 1 road beside the hotel. You can do pindapata dana to the wat bowoniet vihara at 05.45-07.30 in the morning. Which is about 3-5 minute walking distance. Yes! Very close only. Great hotel overall. It could be better if the receptionist staff has a little bit more smile in her face, not so cool. Will absolutely come back again. Whaledone & keep great work! Thank YOU in tons! To be honest, I wasn't expecting much when I was booking to stay right on Khao San road. I was only staying for one night so I wanted to be close to the action of bars, markets and good food. I wouldn't recommend this is you were staying for a week or so, the busyness and haggling could get a bit. However, this was perfect for a short stopover for a couple of nights. Walk down stairs and the street is packed from mid afternoon only getting fuller into the night with food stalls, shopping, massages, and bars. I was surprised with the standard of the interior, this is something I'm fairly particular about. The hotel room was huge with a giant four poster king bed in the middle. Everything was very clean and nice. I had read reviews on this hotel being loud, my room was the very last room in the hallway right on Khao San road. I heard the music start at about 3pm. When I returned for bed at 11 I could hear it quite well but once I popped some ear plugs in, I slept like a baby. I would definitely go back to this hotel. I had such a great experience in bangkok due to booking this hotel in this location.

To be honest I was baffled. Some of the reviews said it was tired, wasn't a four star, poor facilities.... We thought the taxi driver had the wrong hotel as we arrived and the bell-man opened our door. Check in was easy. The pool was great to swim (I mean big enough - obviously pools are for swimming). There were plenty of loungers around for sun bathing. I did the insanity workout in the gym on my iPad and I was the only one in there. The staff were helpful, hotel was spotless and I would genuinely say we will come here again and tell all our friends. Only trade off is there isn't an easy restaurant to walk to. There is a 7-11 across the street but it closes about 4pm! But it wasn't a problem for us and the restaurant wasn't too badly priced. The wifi is strong in the room. You get an hour free and can pay for more. We debated the virtues of this as a couple. My fiancée is an avid googler and had a small period of adjustment....but if you're savvy, disciplined and log in and out every time you finish the specific task, download emails and read off line etc, then we found we could get by. One final comment is about the taxi to the airport. They charge you a fixed price of 500bht. This was mentioned in several reviews as somekind of conspiracy! Well it costs the driver 100bht each way in tolls and takes 45 mins to an hour depending on traffic. We had to sort our visa a few days before so made the same trip having hailed a metered taxi and then had to barter a price as meters are for trips within central Bangkok and they wanted to charge 600 bht. We got it for 500 in the end but then booked with the hotel for our 6am departure to save the hassle - taxi was there waiting for us and the bell-man carried our bags!! Thanks for a great experience.

Nanda is the nicest hotel we could have found in Bangkok. For a very nice price you get to stay in a calm area but walking distance from khao san and all the buzz... we walked several times, tuk tuk is about 50 baht which is close to nothing. As an architect, I was overwhelmed by the design and beauty of the hotel. Interesting design books in the lobby... A week before staying here we stayed in a 5 star hotel in Sukumvit, which was double the price, in a huge skyscraper, but we enjoyed staying in Nanda wayyyy more. Staff is amazing, helpful, pretty good english ( which is not common in Bangkok). We are coming back to Bangkok this year and we will stay in Nanda again.

I've been staying at the Royal for 20 years. It is one of my favorite hotels in Thailand. My husband is Thai and we go home to visit his family often. We always include a stay at the Royal because we enjoy it so much. It's not a matter of cheap, because we also stay at the 5 star Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit which is our other fav hotel in Th. but for very different reasons. The quality of the rooms varies. The ones on the street side are larger but can be noisy. The rooms in the "new" building-it's probably about 10 years old now-lack the charm of the older part of the hotel. Yes I know the front desk staff can be a bit surly and they charge a key deposit and they won't give out more than one key per room, but there's a reason for all that. Many of the westerners who stay here behave as though they are entitled to I don't know what but I have seen some quite bad behavior over the years. Many are rather rude and demanding. They steal items from the hotel, they are often unkempt and dressed in ways the Thais find disrespectful or even offensive (especially the females). It doesn't take very long for the reception desk personnel to become jaded and defensive when dealing with Farangs like these. Despite all of that, if you can take the Thai approach to life (mai pen rai) and remember that you are staying in a very historic grand old palace of a hotel, that you could not have found a better location for sight-seeing, great food and access to transportation and that some of the best local Thai food is served right here in the restaurant ("this is real Thai taste" my husband always says)-not to mention live entertainment most nights-a great pool that is always crystal clear, a very nice breakfast buffet! I love this place.

Good location , upon arrival we were upgraded for free to the premium room. This hotel is right in the middle of Khaosan road, straight outside of the hotel are many places to eat and drink including local street food. Plenty of shops and stalls selling souvenuiers, electronics , clothes etc ... be prepared to haggle for a good price! The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. very good value for money considering the price we paid for this room (£ gbp per night). There is a rooftop pool which we did not use but you can see views of the grand palace from up there. Room was cleaned daily. Cable tv with various channels to cater for all nationalities. complimentary water provided each day. Mini Bar (chargable but very cheap) ... there is also a mini-mart right at the hotel enterance. There is a coffee shop in the hotel reception area which also sells breakfast and snacks very reasonably priced and tasty! Depending where your room is facing you may hear the noise of music etc from the road - however if you are staying on Khaosan road you have to expect this ... plus the cocktails sold outside help you to sleep!! The only bad point about this hotel was the shower - it was more of a wet room with just a curtain so the floor tends to get a bit wet... overall this was a minor issue.

I live in Bangkok but had to meet some customers in the Khao San Area over the weekend. Therefore I moved 2 nights to Dang Derm Hotel due to it's location. At first they did not find my booking because I just booked 1 hour ago online. This is understandable. I booked a standard room and still while checking in the receptionist told me that the room is very noisy due to the location facing the street (Khao San Road). I asked for how long the noise will go on and he stated until 2 am. Well, I am a party goer and I did not mind. The noise was HORRIBLE indeed. So please, if you consider to go to bed earlier than 2.30 am book a higher room category and ask to allocate a quiet room. The room had all to ask for: clean, drinking water, hair dryer, TV, DVD player, fridge, space to hang clothes, ashtray (but it did not smell at all in the room). The design and style was very nice, too (however if you have a back problem, there is only a mattress on the floor reminding to futon-style) The swimming pool on the roof top was very pleasant as well as the pool bar. I will return to Dang Derm due to the location.

Althought we stayed only for one night, the room was perfect: Very low cost room (amazing for the service you get and what they have to offer) Large and very comfortable room and bed Quiet, clean and very modern and new The staff was more than helpful, they are very attentive and nice. After our stay, they kept our luggages in a secure cage for free(with a lock, of course). They have a lot of hotel service to offer and a very good restaurant at the lobby. Its shows that this hotel is international and service oriented. The staff spoke very well english. 10-15 minutes walk from the Grand Palace and the temple. 5 minutes walk from a local night market with a lot of good restaurants. Really, nothing negative to say, very cheap, modern, and I would book all my future stay in Bangkok at this hotel.

We were the first of 10 guests on the first night. The hotel was still unfinished with final fitting work (not noisy) apparent in a lot of places including wiring in reception. The gym equipment had not been unwrapped and most of the bedrooms still had unwrapped furniture. The hotel location is great as it is located down a peaceful cul de sac which has a few useful shops including a 7 11. Despite this, it is only a couple of blocks away from the frantic Khaosan road allowing a traveller like me that has got used to 4/5* luxury relive some of his memories from 25 years ago. The reception doubles as a bar and all the paper work is done sat in comfortable chairs around tables in the bar area (something that is becoming best practice with the top boutique hotels and one that I encourage). The rooms were large enough with top quality beds and matresses. The bathrooms were large with a jacuzzi bath and separate shower (I like this). The only criticisms were that the only thing separating the bathroom from the bedroom was the jacuzzi bath and a curtain around it. This may sound romantic, but is not conjusive to eblusions. Although I was not disturbed, I also noted that, like mainy Asian hotels, there appeared to be no acoustic insulation built between the partician walls (when will they make this a standard in hotels that are clearly marketed at the top end). finally, some little touches were missing like a second toilet roll, water in the room (fruit was provided and there was a card to say free complementary water)and working wifi (intermittent and slow). I am sure these are teething problems. The swimming pool was in a nice location on the roof and very pleasant (if a bit small) and the gym (although not unwrapped) had quality cardio equipment with windows over looking the pool (so quite nice). The staff were excellent and the rooms immaculate. For the promotional price I got this hotel for, it was a must revisit- let's see what happens to prices though.

Couldn't have been happier with this hotel. Simple yet classy ambience and they had some of the most helpful receptionists I've ever met. Variety of food in the morning was slightly limited (but of good quality)- understandable as the hotel serves only a small number of guests. Location-wise: perfect, pretty near to the cultural spots (by tuk-tuk) and walkable to the piers for a boat ride. Tons of street food and convenience stores around. Staff are more than willing to help you get a taxi or tuk-tuk. Also, there's a man in a booth right outside the reception named Choke who can help you plan your day trip to floating markets and cultural spots for a very good price. Enjoyed a fantastic river tour thanks to him! Hardly anything negative to say about the hotel, only that the walls are a little thin and if you're a light sleeper, you may want to bring ear plugs. Aside from that though, 10/10 would stay here again. Also, the 'no kids' policy is the one of the best things since sliced bread.

Let me start with the good, I really did enjoy my stay here. It's in a unique location and the land has a neat history. The hotel itself is very scenic. Staff are friendly and try their best to facilitate your needs. The rooms are very well priced and I'd gladly recommend this hotel to anyone. All my complaints are relatively minor. When I arrived it turned out that my booking was mixed up somehow, instead of one bed for us the request on their end said two beds. No idea why, my PDF booking said one large bed. Then they asked my wife if her name was Jennifer (it's not). Later had my wife asking "Who's Jennifer?" The water was never hot, just warm. When I asked the cleaning lady to give my wife and me 2 minutes, she said okay and just never cleaned the room. The sound on the TV didn't work for 2 days, after the first day a maintenance man was sent to check it but I have no idea what came of that because when we returned that day it still wasn't working. All and all, we loved our stay.

I'm stayed here around 5 days and the hotel staff provided me a very good service and best memory. The staff here is super friendly and helpful. They give me a feel like back to home when the time I stayed there. Some more the staff will arranged the taxi for you to the airport without any additional charge. The breakfast here is very special and delicious (Local Thai Breakfast). The hotel environment is very relaxing and British Colombia feel. Hotel is very near Khaosan Road and can go there for night market shopping. Even go to city area also not that far.(By taxi roughly 10 to 15 min around 100 Thai bath). I will go back to stay if I travel to Bangkok again. Good Hotel, Good Service and Good Foods !!

Our stay at the New Siam Palace View was our second place we booked in Thailand. I'll will write all the details and our experience as best as possible. At arriving at the New Siam Palace View, we check-in at midday for our 3 night stay. The staff was very nice, friendly and very helpful. They ask for our passport to get a copy and 500 baht, a refundable amount. Just a security deposit in case the person breaks something or something is missing from the room. They gave us our passports back, the key to our room, a few vouchers for fruit shakes and two vouchers with the Wi-Fi information. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly. Never had a problem with it. We then went to our room and it was small, comfortable and the A/C took a few minutes to cool the room but after that it was very nice. The view from our balcony was, well, old buildings. No river view and the balcony was very small. We didn't care about that. The bathroom was basic but with everything we needed. It had a closet with a safe, tv, a small desk with mirror and a fridge with cold water bottles. After eating so much Thai food we decided to give a try to their breakfast and it did not disappoint at all. It was very good and their fruit shakes are good also. You can get a good breakfast at the lobby for 100 or 200 baht. For us, the location was excellent because it was very close the Khao San Road but really quiet. It was peaceful at night. You couldn't hear any noise from Khao San Road at all. So if you want a place to get a good night sleep but be near all the action this is the place. There is a shortcut to get to the Khao San Road from the hotel and while you are at it you will walk through local markets, stores and restaurants. The other reason we like this location was because it's close to all the temples, landmarks and touristic spots that are nearby so that's a big plus for us. If you are overnighting in Bangkok & don't need to go sightseeing but want peace, relaxation, food & a really nice spacious room with aircon, this hotel rocks! I arrived at Subha international exhausted at 6am after a 12 hr journey from London with no Thai money. A friendly guard in the airport directed me to the free hourly shuttle bus to Don Muang international airport. The journey took about an hour & once at Don Muang, there is a dedicated lift in the terminal taking you to the covered airway crossing the highway straight into the Amari hotel. This hotel is an absolute bargain at the price if purchasing in European money. Huge, peaceful rooms, very nicely furnished (european 4 star) lovely bathrooms & an onsite restaurant serving a mix of cuisines & a good fun sports bar type pub on site also open late. The pool & pool area is lovely & overall this place was just ideal for my needs. About 5pm after a few hours sleep I had relaxing swim, beer in the bar & then took the hotel's free shuttle bus to the local night market - nothing at all you'd want to buy there but fascinating none the less - & the market is next to a mall which is packed with good, inexpensive Thai, Korean, Japanese restaurants. the shuttle bus picks you up at a pre arranged time. Will return.

I hate to give a positive review because more people will stay here. Best mattresses I've found on Khao San road. The secret is out. The pool is nice. Breakfast is across the street at Dang Derm. make sure you get your tickets at the front desk in the morning . Ask for wifi password before you leave the front desk or you'll be back down in the lobby. Stand in the right line when checking in else you'll be trying to check into D&D inn. Don't act like arrogant Eurotrash when you're checking in. we know you've had a long flight, your mosquito bites are itchy and your butt is sore. Realize these employees have to deal with 100s of people everyday. Being pleasant will get you much further than not. Don't deal with the Indian tailor right outside the door. His name is David and he is a thief and his clothes are inferior.

We have been pleasantly surprised by the Trang Hotel. The staff is nice, including the cleaning ladies. They always smile. We booked the superior room, but have been upgraded to premium superior. The price through Agoda is very good value for money. A big and deep swimming, with barely anyone inside. We swam many times alone. The breakfast is included, there are asian food (rice and noodles) and continental food (bread, jam, butter, ham, sausage, eggs), there are also orange juice (not that great) and tea and coffee. It is not super good food, but correct enough to give you a boost at the start of the day. The premium superior rooms have balcony with view on the garden, so quiet during the night. We can hear the people having breakfast in the morning, but not annoying. The other rooms have view i believe outside, but not sure. Flat TV screen with USB plug, if you fancy a film. Nice bathroom with hot shower. Plenty of storage. I haven't seen the standard nor the superior rooms, but i would recommend the premiums. We feel at home ! The wifi works well too, and you can even work on your laptop near the swimming pool The Khao San road (tourists road) is 10 min walk, and there are buses which goes straight to Hualamphong train station. Shame there is no BTS or MRT station nearby, but if you are 2 or more, it is worth to take the taxi cost wise anyway. So glad with this hotel that we will come back next week but this time with my parents-in-law and I will update their opinion on Agoda

let me store my excess baggage when i left for 2 weeks and didn’t charge even though i had agreed to. took care of my booking to Cambodia with no pressure for upgrades or the sale at all , unlike competitors. in fact i wish they booked my train/ boat to Koh Tao as the agent i did book with didn’t reimburse when the transportation from train did not show up at 2 am and the boat was scheduled for 6 am. i had to book a hotel and miss my boat then buy additional boat tickets and taxi to pier. when i got no compensation as agreed upon i knew i would only book from villa cha cha next time. and i did.

Easy going place with decent access to tourist sites. Taxis and tuk tuks ever present at curb, but also close to boat shuttles and local buses. Multiple food options ( at Siam II or Siam I across the street). Alley connects to Soi Ram Buttri road which has lots of food, bar, tourist market options. And of course they have a pool, which you need whether you know it or not. Only mark against them: emailed them reminding them we would be arriving around 4:30am, and asked about best transport from airport of special directions for taxi driver given the late hour. They never responded and when we arrived it was clear they thought we were not coming. It did not cause a problem for us, but it would have been nice to get some feedback from them about getting to their place in the middle of the night. That said, I would definitely stay there again, and plan on it when we go back to Bangkok later in our trip.

I'd say this place exceeded my expectations, I've stayed in some boutique hotels which, while having great decor and facilities, still feel like a "hotel". But the atmosphere and staff at Bangkok Publishing Residence give you a very cozy and intimate feeling, while the overall decor and amenities feel luxurious but not pretentious. I especially love the rooftop garden where they grow the most delicious salad I've had in years! I'll surely comeback the next time I'm in Bangkok!

totally clean..friendly & helpfull staffs(all of them that i met). a little problem when i arrive at 11 PM and they can't find my booking number..still wondering how could my booking not listed. luckily i saw my name on their booking file (in a clear holder)! but anyway, staff on duty was really really helpful. We can find street food nearby by walkng 5min, grand palace & watpho can be reached just about 10min by taxi or tuktuk. location is quite easy to find. Golden mount temple just 15min walking (and it is a beautiful temple!) the only thing i can complain from this hotel is no slippers at room. overall, it was a really nice stay and worth it!

Hotel is situated behind soi which have really cheap local Thai food ranging from about 50thb. Phuket is indeed expensive and the average prices are 100-200thb. The next best restaurant is called PhukeTurk. Cheap and tasty. The night receptionist is really friendly and welcoming. The rooms perfectly clean and have all the amenities for long stay.... Huge fridge, clothes liner... U can wash yr clothes opposite the hotel.. There's a coin machine 30-50thb. Look no further... This hotel is simply the best in its class!

Was traveling with my significant other and we absolutely loved the hotel! The location is great! It’s right by the democracy monument so giving directions when taking a tuk-tuk or cab was easy, Khao San road and the golden mountain are just a few blocks away, and we quickly learned our was around the area. The staff was incredibly friendly and did a wonderful job of making us feel welcomed. Everything was kept very clean and the housekeepers came by daily to tidy up our room, empty the trash bins, and give us fresh towels. They stocked the room with toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, body wash, q-tips, and more! Our room also had a mini fridge which was very convenient and we used it to keep our many bottles of water cold. We also loved that we could easily control the temperature in our room with a very nice air conditioning system. The only reason it doesn’t get a 5 Star for facilities is because there are a few minor inconveniences, but nothing big enough to ruin our stay! The main inconvenience was the fact that the toilet is extremely close to the sink. I am 5’6 and my boyfriend is 6’0 and we were hitting our knees on the sink every rim we had to go to the bathroom.

this hotel is very good in the right place walking distance from the golden palace and street markets lots bars and music going on in the street but room was quiet as back from the road and 5 mins from khoasan road.where all the life is. outside the hotel one the best street food resturants in bangkok not the hotel resturant as thats tourist and quite expensive its next door quality food at street prices this place is great for families as well as has wonderfull swimming pool and even a steam room try to negotiate room prices down i been to stay in bangkok many times and found this hotel the best for room and convience rattrbutti street is also 5 mins walk away go there and you wont be disapionted
