"Very welcoming host but unfortunately the accomodation was not so great. The bathroom and toilet are not heated which is really not nice in winter), the dorm is a really large room with 24 beds (male dorm at least) with a giant emergency exit panel that is working all night long (so you will never be in the dark). The bed is more like a planck with some futon on it, but not a good futon so pretty hard, and as a tall person the blancket was too small for me. The room is too large and not well insulated which means that some beds are over heated and some under heated. I was alone with one Japanese person in the 24 bed room. That person got extremely drunk during the evening and put an alarm clock at 4 in the morning. I had to scream several times to make him wake up and stop the alarm clock. All in all this might have been the worst night I ever had in Japan (and I lived there 1 year). I guess the hostel can be better in summer but I felt like I should tell my story anyway."

"Very enjoyable in the hotel. Staff was well trained with smile and good English. Room was good. The beds and quilt were comfortable. The breakfast was rich. We enjoyed it very much. The melon in dinner was amazing. The best melon I have ever tasted. Yet the quantity of dinner was not quite enough. It would be better if the onsen is larger. "

"The hotel is absolutely beautiful, let's get that out of the way. Although, only on the inside. Outside it looks like a concrete box. The staff were super friendly, showing me all the way into my room and explaining what everything was. She even went back to get me a bigger yukata. Amazing. The bath is beautiful, and feels great. Several baths to choose from, including an outdoor bath (well, not truly outdoors, but close enough). One odd thing is that you don't need to bring towels from your room - they are provided in the changing rooms. This is good, because it means fresh towels no matter how often you go on one day (it's completely acceptable to go more than once per day). The room, a Japanese style room in my case, was beautiful and spacious. Nothing super fancy as far as Japanese rooms go, but with a sitting area and a genereous hallway with bathroom and toilet, certainly bigger and better than any other cheap tatami-room."
