"We booked for a balcony room (executive deluxe), however when we arrived we were told there were no balcony rooms available. When I queried this, they happily upgraded us to their Liberty Suite which was fantastic. It had a seperate sitting area , and a balcony at the front of the hotel. Location is right in the middle of the tourist district, and near bars, restaurants, and tour companies. Staff were always friendly, spoke a reasonable level of english and always tried to help. They were also more attentive than many hotels in Vietnam. Breakfast - Fantastic, HUGE choice, both western, asian, and continental. Served on the 9th floor, and we sat on the terrace overlooking the city. Very Nice. Restaurant - On 9th floor, again, very good food, attentive staff, and reasonable prices sitting on the terrace under the stars watching the chaos below. Security - Good, they had 2 or 3 security guards at the entrance every time we went in or out, but they were quite unobtrusive. Bar - Mmmmm...strange one this, as it is not really a family bar in a tourist hotel. You need to go through 2 doors and the blackened glass makes you wonder. When you enter, the bar is staffed by 10 ish Vietnamese young ladies wearing quite revealing uniforms, and while the atmosphere was good, and the girls friendly, it was a bit offputting seeing old Asian men pawing at the girls. I think a bar like this is ok for businessmen, but I know my girlfriend was a little uncomfortable in here, and she's no prude :P"

"The accommodations at the Asian Ruby Select Hotel are clean and serviceable. Located in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City, this hotel is within easy taxi distance of any site in that district. The Asian Ruby has room service but no onsite restaurant. The complimentary breakfast is well-presented, but that is the only meal one can easily eat in the hotel. Street food and small restaurants abound in the area; so, you won't go without food. The hotel has one elevator; so, you might have to wait to get upstairs, but the rooms are clean and well-appointed for a low-mid-range hotel in HCMC. There are two Asian Ruby Hotels on Bui thi Xuan Street, and the one I visited was located at 122F-124F1."

"I've been living in Vietnam for 11 years now, so stayed at many hotels. This one was really nice for the price paid. It's located in central HCMC, but away from the main backpacker area, if you don't want to stay in that part of the city. Nguyen Trai street is just a 10 minute walk from Ben Thanh Market. The room was nice and clean, and modern style. The nice thing about this hotel, is that breakfast is included (many other hotels in this price range don't offer breakfast). Breakfast is served on the 9th floor from 7am to 10am. The breakfast chef is friendly. A good selection of food. The breakfast room is bright and cosy. The housekeeping staff were also friendly, even though they had limited English, they tried to make friendly conversation. one boy in particular was very courteous and helpful. He made our stay warm and welcoming. I would book this hotel again. Thanks for a great stay!"

"We stayed for 4 nights with free spa massage everyday due to hotel's promotion. If you like a quite area and near centre, this is the place. It takes 5mins by taxi or motorbike to Ben Thanh Market,10mins to main shopping malls,10 mins to Bui Vien streets with lots of entertainment. Breakfast is good enough but not Pho-the stock need to be added more flavour. Staff are super friendly with beautiful smile. I wonder how could I become their member? That's mean I want to come back this hotel everytime I travel to Vietnam."

" I stayed for 3 nights here, one night in the deluxe twin, and another two nights in the cozy superior. Both were decently sized, rooms were clean, there was basic amenities and also a coffee machine. Rooms were mostly quiet and devoid of street noise which was brilliant, especially since the streets below were extremely busy. Deluxe twin room toilets were great, but the cozy superior not so if traveling with another person as the toilet had room- facing glass panes instead of hard walls. Though there were pullable shades, these do not provide complete cover. Staff service was great, courteous, and we were provided with glasses of juice while awaiting completion of the check in process. Overall a wonderful experience, and exceeded my expectations quite a fair bit. My commendations to the hotel and staff for making our experience a great one. "

"nouveau happy inn may not be in the heart of the ben tahn market area- it's about 8-10mins walk from there - but, this is actually a big plus. the market area is full of people at night - foreign tourists, rowdy semi-inebriated backpackers, souvenir-hunters and mostly just people enjoying the nightlife- so that is one noisy area. the 8-10 min walk could provide you some exercise and on the spot sight-seeing as well. there's a spa immediately outside the hotel and a 24hr convenience store if you need any stuff during the wee hours of night. the hotel staff are really friendly, they've got buffet breakfast, an elevator (i think the hotel is 5 stories high) and "certified" clean bathrooms - the toilet bowl has a just "cleaned and disinfected" paper wrap on it! staff will flag a taxi down if you need it, even accompanying you across the street if you're afraid to pit your street-crossing skills against numerous, seemingly road-raging motorcycle and scooter driving locals. all in all, we liked our stay here and will go back again, if given the chance. "I will break my review down into sections: Room: The hotel is new and clean with good decor and furnishings. The rooms are modern and comfortable, mattresses are firm however I had no issue with this. Air con was effective. Staff: Always friendly, always wanting to help. The concierge booked a couple tours for me quickly and without hassle. Hotel services: We used the airport pickup - we booked a sedan, and we were greeted at the airport by a concierge staff who traveled with us alongside the driver. This is convenient, and although more expensive that a taxi, it was great not to think about where we were going after our international flight. The private car cost us $18AUD each way, the concierge had our luggage out and into our room quickly. We used the hotel spa which was fantastic - more of a massage service. The staff here were so friendly and professional, and the pricing is very competitive considering the higher standard than could be found on the street. Breakfast is great with heaps of options, delicious pho, omelettes and anything else cooked in front of you with a few chefs always there ready to help. Location: The hotel is about 10 minutes walk to the Ben Thanh markets, 5 minutes walk to the war remnants museum - quite central. I think the streets appear a bit cleaner closer to the river or just north of Ben Thanh however everything was in walking distance. The park down the end of the street is a great respite from the hectic city!"
