This is the first time I stay in Le Meridien Chiang Rai Resort. It is so comfortable for me to stay in this hotel as it is very quiet and make me feel relax. The location is not far away to downtown and it just take around 15 minutes taxi to reach the Night Bazaar. The food in Night Bazaar is delicious and many things to buy with cheap price. I will absolutely stay in Le Meridien Chiang Rai Resort again if I will back to Chiang Rai and will recommend to all of my friends as well.

Had a 2 night stay here with my elderly parents when touring Chiang Rai. This is a lovely hotel in Chiang Rai city, walking distance to the Chiang Rai night bazaar. Hotel staff spoke good English and were very smiley and friendly. We could feel that they were eager to please the guests with their prompt service and pleasant demeanour. According to the receptionist, the hotel is only a little over a year old, and you can feel the facilities are very new. Bed and bathroom was well kept and clean. The controls in the room uses touch sensors, not very elder friendly, but I guess that's OK. Breakfast was good with a decent spread. Freshly cooked eggs and bacon were available for ordering. Only feedback that the spread could get tired, particularly when one stays longer than 2 nights. Overall great hotel with exceptional value!

Pros : Location: Inside the city center, short walk to the Chiang Rai Night Bazaar. The Saturday Night Market and the Sunday Happy Street Walking Street is within easy reach. Plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. Warm welcome from everyone. Room was smaller than I'm used to however its clean, bathroom and shower worked well with hot water and water pressure was good. In room Wifi was fast. Breakfast Buffet: Great selection of local Thai dishes and Western food options. Very delicious. Great value for your money. Overall experience was very positive and will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for a second time, and it still is for me the best in Chiang Rai. It is centrally located, rooms are clean and well maintained. The only downside I experienced was, we arrived early in the day, but we weren't allowed check-in until about 1PM. They kept telling us that because we booked thru Agoda, check-in time is strictly 2PM. Nothing really bad because that's what it says on print. They allowed to keep our luggage so we can go around town. But, it would have been a nice touch if we were allowed to check-in earlier, the hotel wasn't really fully booked because it's off season for travel now. I wonder, if we booked through the B2 app, would we have been allowed to check-in earlier? Perhaps... In summary though, the value for money is really way above board, especially because we got a discounted price. Will definitely stay again here next time I'm in Chiang Rai.

I am very thankful for the manager at the Hug Hotel helping to arrange our tour of the Chiang Rai region. She found us a wonderful English speaking guide with his own car, and also helped us decide what would be worthwhile seeing. As to the hotel itself, it is clean, the staff is very friendly, and the rooms are comfortable if basic. The view from my balcony was of a neighbor's backyard who owns three beautiful dogs, a german shepherd and two golden retrievers. I think it is the only time in my life I chatted with a neighbor to the hotel from my balcony as we talked about his dogs. The location of the hotel is ok, but not within walking distance of either the Clock Tower or the Night Market, being 2-3 kilometers distance from both. The taxi or tuk tuk ride is cheap, however, and the Chiang Rai Night Market is worth viewing. Overall, a very nice stay and would stay here again if I were spending the night in Chiang Rai.

We spend three nights' stay at this hotel where we find staff very warm and friendly. It is a stone throw of Central Plaza and Big C Superstore but quite far away from night bazaar and muslim restaurants. The former is a high class shopping mall with many varieties of highly branded shops, restaurants and cafes while the latter is quite simple but reasonable. During our stay in Chiang Rai, our licensed tour guide took us to Doi Tung and Mae Sai, approximately two hour journey from downtown. We are atracted by colourful blossoms that are bigger than our home country due to climate conditions. After a visit to Royal Villa where late Royal King's mother lives, we proceed to Mae Sai where we cross the Thai-Myanmar border on a prepaid visa basis. A lot of fake goods are sold very cheaply at this border where Thai Bahts can be used. I notice that many Thai nationals are unaware of fake goods being confiscated upon entry to the Thai Checkpoint. We like the Matrini Boutique Resort due to nice interior designs and staff warmth and friendliness. One problem is non-halal foods to be served but we can eat only salad, bakeries and fruits. We persuade our General Manager to hire a Thai Muslim chef to prepare foods for Muslims tourists. We are glad that she finally agrees and promises.

We spent six nights at The Legend, and were thoroughly pleased with the friendly service, beautiful room, and relaxed riverside setting. Traveling with our 18mth child we were able to conveniently park in the Hotel Car Park at no extra charge which made exploring Chiang Rai and surrounds a breeze. The room was gorgeous, spacious, and a safe cot was provided for our daughter. The pool was one of our favourite spots, and the friendly staff and great variety of food on offer was a great convenience too. The shuttle to/from the Night Bazaar is highly recommended if traveling with a child as we found it difficult to get a taxi back to the hotel. While the hotel is located in a residential pocket (easily accessible to the town centre by cycle, tuk tuk or taxi), there is a new boardwalk along the river where you will be met at the end with the very decadent and delicious 'Melt in your Mouth' cafe which is fantastic for a coffee and sweet treat, or dinner as the sun goes down. We also highly recommend Chivit Thamma Da which is opposite the resort, across the river, and has a mix of local and European fare, again with decadent desserts. Will definitely stay again at The Legend

My first patronage at Chiang Rai Hotel was not disappointing. It's close proximity to the bus station near Chiang Rai Night Bazaar was the reason I booked it, for the ease of movement to and fro bus trips. Hotel offers amenities that one can just hang around instead of staying in the rooms. Discovered various good cafes and popular restaurants at the end of the street at the clock tower, besides eating at the food centre at the Night Bazaar. A very pleasant discovery of this hotel and the shops around it. Will be booking this hotel again in my next visit to Chiang Rai.

good and clean resort with great swimming pool. the hotel is situated near the night bazaar. hotels breakfast is common ,western and thai food. the room is with common equipment . the hotel include travel desk (not daily , available on phone from the reception) asian way tours tel:this agency provide amazing trips ,for example golden triangle , long neck , trekking and etc. i have to say , the tourist guide attitude was excellent , good english . the guide was very educated and willing. our trip to golden triangle was a a great experience i can recommend this agency .

The hotel itself is ageing but is well maintained and very clean. Location is very good, a few minutes walk to the night bazaar. I stayed four nights in a deluxe room on the 3rd floor. The room was average size with wood floor, very comfy bed, fridge, wardrobe, kettle, desk, sitting chairs, end tables, and old style TV with one English channel. No room safe. Very few electrical outlets. Large window with city view and some street noise during the day. Bathroom was very small but clean and functional. AC was old style but not noisy. Carpeted hallways and thick walls, which means quiet rooms! Breakfast room was huge but barely big enough to accommodate all the guests. Omelettes, fried eggs, cereal, rice, soups, a few steamed veggie dishes, an assortment of wieners, Thai style and western style coffee and tea, juice, some fruit. Door men, front desk clerks, and housekeepers were exceptionally friendly. I was pleased with my stay here and would return for a future visit.

I wasn't expecting such a great hotel in Chiang Rai as the city is abit of a sleepy place (and the reason I visited to get away from the chaos of Bangkok) but the Rasa is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The whole place is very clean and well designed. The beds are firm and comfy and the rooms are well proportioned and the water is the fridge is free! (important in hot Thailand) The breakfast served was huge (3 courses!) and tasted good. The best thing about the hotel is the quality if the staff. An example was when we were greeted at the car park with an umbrella on return from a rainy day out (you don't get this outside of posh hotels!) Also the staff were friendly and spoke good English.

Truly, this is my secret hideaway, as it seems to have everything I need. It is reasonably priced, and located in a very convenient area. It is smack bang right alongside the old AirForce Base (not used anymore) and is a popular running track for early morning joggers. Breakfast is very very Thai, and not attractive to many foreigners, however there is nothing stopping you taking your own breakfast cereals etc. The Hotel caters for many bus travelling groups, however they stay in the multi-person units, whereas more upmarket units are available which are quite attractive. The gym,spa and swimming pool are free to use by the Hotel guests.The township of Chiang Rai has many attractions, and cultural identities. Elephant Camps can also be found within 20 kms from the town outskirts. The night markets are big and enjoyable, and the local park is beautifully kept, with a huge arrange of flowers...the tulips are magnificent. The new Shopping Mall in Chiang Rai is brilliant, and especially caters for 'Farang' diners. Pimanninn value for money? For the first time ever, and I have submitted heaps of reviews for Agoda......5 Stars.....my favourite. Could quite easily live fulltime at this Hotel, as the AirAsia service to Bangkok and beyond is so convenient. I found this Hotel via Agoda, which didn't seem to contain many positive reviews about this Hotel, but I am ever so glad that I acquainted myself with this location, and will return in due course. Chiang Rai is old, but has a lot of lovely character, and is tucked away from all the hype and noise of other touristy places.

Unexpected surprise and much delighted to find such a lovely place. The cozy decoration, quiet and peaceful atmosphere brought much pleasant during my stay for 2 nights. Roomy and superbly clean beddings. It's location was in conveniently walking distance to several attraction places, particularly in the evening i.e. Chiang Rai Night bazaar, a famous clock tower etc. Would love to be backed to stay if have to be in the neighbor areas.

The "La Vie En Rose" hotel is a nice hotel at Chiang Rai, the set-up, style of the rooms are elegant. I had a room with beautiful blue painted walls, my sons had the same room in "dark purple", but very stylish with a kind of white "stucco". The reception hall and the restaurant (for breakfast) appears cool because of the furniture (white leather chairs). A good hotel in Chiang Rai. I stayed in the "La vie en Rose" because I did not find a nice hotel at that time (end of July 2012), all hotels I liked (a little bit cheaper ...) have been sold out. That's why I decided to go to the a little bit more expensive hotel, but the additional money was it worth, price / quality ratio is fine! I can recommend this hotel in Chaing Rai.

Really good price hotel. First, the price is low. The room is big enough and clean, even in the bathroom there were some little ant just as normal. The staff were great, even English were not really good, but was fair the communicate. They were very helpful and show me they really using the heart to serve me. Hotel is providing simple breakfast such as fried rice, bread, sausage and ham, good taste. Although the swimming pool is not big, that is enough for swimming. Only one thing the guest need to have caution is the location is not easy to find. If u drive yourself please be careful the google map gps may guide you a wrong way. But the road nearby the hotel, there are many signs of this hotel, u should take awareness. Overall, the hotel is very very good, I will go here again the next time in Chiang Rai.

My husband and I stayed here while visiting Chiang Rai. The hotel was about a 10-15 minute drive from the airport. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The receptionist spoke English and were able to communicate with us for any of our needs during our stay. The hotel has a free shuttle each night to the Night Bazaar which was great! We also rented a scooter from a company that was advertised at the front desk, and the staff at the resort made sure the booking went smoothly for us. They all work very hard! The room was very clean. Nothing fancy or big, however we did not expect that when booking, and it was absolutely perfect for what we needed. We didn’t use the pool, but it did look very nice and well maintained. The free breakfast was great as well. They did have some of the same dishes each day, but there was plenty of food to choose from, and we were quite happy! We would definitely recommend this hotel to people travelling to Chiang Rai :)

We decided to take a short side trip to Chiang Rai before our plans to celebrate Loy Krathong in Chiang Mai and we are so glad that we did! Such a beautiful city full of the friendliest, most accommodating people. Wherever we went, we were greeted with smiles and the people are very genuine and kind and the city is relaxed and has not been taken over by tourists. The location was a little trek away from the main part of town but we had rented a scooter from the lobby and had a great time exploring the city. The hotel is only 3 months old so everything is in working order and clean. Bed is very comfortable and the location is peaceful. The staff at the villa are amazing! My girlfriend left her purse in the lobby with no ID and a lot of money. We didn't realize that it was missing until the end of the day and when we were rushing out to retrace our steps we decided to stop and ask at the front desk and the very kind and friendly manager asked for a description and was so happy to return it to us. We were floored... literally, as my girlfriend had close to $500 in her purse! My apologies for the long review but I just had to share that story as we were so touched. The manager was the best, not just for her honesty but she was extremely personable, spoke great english, and was very helpful! :) We have already decided to come back to Chiang Rai and this is where we will always stay.

This newly constructed hotel is in a quiet section of Chiang Rai with of convenient restaurants in close proximity, and a 7/11 & Big C Department Store within walking distance. I would suggest getting the Uber or Grap app. to acquire a cheap ride anywhere in Chiang Rai ie. White Temple etc. Rooms were under 25USD WHICH MADE IT A PLUS PLUS FOR ME. Big bang for the buck!

We have booked for 4 persons and stay 1 night in Chiang Rai at this hotel. Overall, the room is presented quite good, clean and big size for 4 persons. The breakfast is considered good choices but will be good to have more local foods choices. The receiption lady was good and efficienta nd polite to us with good English communication skills. Overall, we are happy with this hotel and will recommend it to others.

Its name is Night Bazaar, its location is anything but. Located 1km from Chiang Rai night bazaar (which is also the old bus station), it seems to be on the outskirts of Chiang Rai (which means, it’s quite at night, especially for the south-facing rooms). By the way, 1 kilometer isn’t really too much. There are some local restaurants just next to the hotel, yet if you are one of those who prefer western dishes than spicy Thai food, sorry, you need to go downtown. The furniture in the rooms seem somewhat aged. And it seems to be the norm for every Thai hotel that it doesn’t provide slippers or toothbrushes. Our room comes but with a very tiny window. The good thing about the room is that, it provides SIX glassed water, for free. The hotel seems to has a parking lot, don’t know whether it’s free or not. You pay 200 Baht deposit for the door card. Given its very low room price, overall it’s great value for money.

We had our own transportation and we're looking for a place to stay near Chiang Rai to break up our visa run to Mae Sai. The hotel is located one street off the major highway 1 off a small soi. Bit difficult to find so arrive with daylight to spare. Parking is available with reception located nearby. This is a boutique hotel and quite nicely layed out in a court yard design with rooms on the outside and pool w/ decking area, small fitness room and eating area located at one end. We booked only the night before and got an excellent rate on the superior (standard rooms) but were pleasantly upgraded to a deluxe when we arrived (I surprise to double booking or an extension of an existing guest). The room was a decent size with a mid size bedroom (tv, dressing area etc..) and a separate living area with a sliding door in between. Fridge, coffee kettle etc. are all provided. Nice wooden decor with a homely yet modern feel. A simple breakfast was included including rice, eggs, toast, cereal, coffee/tea etc.. If you're looking for an elaborate buffet breakfast go elsewhere. Overall I would stay at the Soontree hotel again for value, convenience and comfort. We travelled with a 1.5 year old who also enjoyed exploring the hotel site and had ample of room in the deluxe room to enjoy. this hotel is about a 5-8min drive from downtown Chiang Rai.

we can only say beatiful words for poy and kung, the owners of the place, who made us feel at our home in every sense, and their guesthouse. we ended up staying 4 nights there, as the location was perfect, extremely clean, every single detail was taken into account,breakfast so complete and tasty, all in all, the perfect stay you can think about. the garden was beautiful, the common areas so clean, and lovely decorated (really, so charming!!!), our room was very convenient, with perfectly sealed mosquito nets in windows and aircon, mattress so comfortable, cold pure water provided at will...free bikes were provided by the house, the surroundings are so beautiful for biking. chiang rai night market only 10 minutes away on foot. but the top of the tops were poy and kung's attention, you can see they do the best to make you feel as if you were at home. seriously, this is one of the best places we have ever stayed in...and we travel a lot.

Spent two nights here room only. On check in cashier said I am room only but very welcome to complimentary breakfast. Breakfast was good, the hotel is deceptively large but it still feels intimate. The room was fine and for the money paid the Rama was a great deal. I even referred them to uber which began in Chiang Rai on the day of arrival and proved to be also a good deal. Go to Chivit restaurant for great food in a character setting by the river. If you want street food this too was good just round the corner by the petrol station or the night bazaar both less than five mins walk. Would easily stop there again great staff and great value
