Find hotels near China National Convention Center in Beijing, China

The Marco Polo was fine as a hotel, but it had a few problems that made my stay there less than optimal. 1) The staff, while very friendly, was not well trained and unable to handle any questions that were not very basic. I don't believe this was a language issue, it was simply that the staff was not trained to think for themselves. 2) Getting taxis was difficult from ...The Marco Polo was fine as a hotel, but it had a few problems that made my stay there less than optimal. 1) The staff, while very friendly, was not well trained and unable to handle any questions that were not very basic. I don't believe this was a language issue, it was simply that the staff was not trained to think for themselves. 2) Getting taxis was difficult from the hotel, although I gather this is an issue across Beijing as a whole now. 3) The hotel is not really close enough to the Convention Center to be a viable alternative to the Convention Center hotel or the Intercon. It was too far away to walk and if you wanted to travel during rush hours or if it was raining, you could expect 20-30 min waiting times for a taxi. However, I found the staff unfailingly polite and cheerful - and that made up for a lot of the other issues.

This hotel is very nice, in a good location near the China National Convention Center and Olympic area. Plenty of hotels and shopping nearby, including a supermarket right across the street, chinese and western restaurants. I have no complaints about the hotel or service, but breakfast (expensive) was not included, and the dinner in the hotel restaurant was poor. I ordered and paid for a suite, and they tried to pt me in a single room, until I insisted, then they corrected the error. Everything in the room worked, and was neat and clean, comfortable bed, good bath and shower... all considered I would definitely stay here again.

It was for a business stay, totaling 3 nights. Though the location is quite new, so unfamiliar to taxi drivers, but it can be easily located once you get the hang of it in a couple of taxi rides. The hotel is managed by Steigenberger so the standards are quite high in Chinese standard, and it seems they are still training their staffs to perform a 5 star service. The staffs try to help as much as they could when we encounter simple matters like the phone lines could not dial out, it was quite impressive to receive such care. In the end, it was a pleasant stay and I would recommend this diamond in the rough to travelers who wish to be closer to the airport.

Hotel’s breakfast was good too, with a reasonable spread that didn’t make me feel overwhelmed nor left feeling like my meal was lacking. Staff are incredibly efficient. I was there in winter and it was unbearably warm. The concierge very helpfully suggested a fan, and one was delivered promptly too. Downside is I can’t seem to use their free WiFi at all. The password thingsmajig only applied to visitors with a China-registered mobile number. Another thing is, even with the Do Not Disturb sign + light on, the housekeeper came in to tidy my room and refresh the toiletries. I found that intrusive. Do take note and lock your valuables when leaving the room.

InterContinental Beijing Beichen is located just near the Beijing Olympic Stadium. It is very new and convenient facility. With wonderful convention facilities and rooms, you can do your business activities best there for instance from big to small meeting, seminar, etc. Swimming pool is one of the best in Beijing and probably across the world. close to international fair trade center just by walk 5 min 400 mt away from hotel and view was very nice from the hotel opposite was aqua cube and indoor stadium night time was so colorful with lightings and this hotel was in the center of the beijing olympic complexes thats why so many interesting buildings to see while you are 5 min away from the business you wante...close to international fair trade center just by walk 5 min 400 mt away from hotel and view was very nice from the hotel opposite was aqua cube and indoor stadium night time was so colorful with lightings and this hotel was in the center of the beijing olympic complexes thats why so many interesting buildings to see while you are 5 min away from the business you wanted to deal at the international fair trade center..hotel staff was very helpful room was spacious may be because we have stayed at the suit room.and sky roof was excellent with awesome view of beijing you feel your self like you are at the top of the world but the weather was very cold think again if you want to go there in january otherwise get ready to freeze.but one complaint door knob was hitting you with electrical shock...that was the scary part that hotel have to fix urgently......would like to stay there again if we got beijing again....

For the price you pay, you get a good bed but not a strong feeling of ‘hotel’. By the way, the hotel’s amenities box filled with condoms – not sure if you should call this good customer services or I was the wrong type of customer for the hotel.

It is located just behind the hotel and walk distance about 20min but price of the hotel is far below to other surrounding hotel such as Pengu 7 Star Hotel (7 star just the name) or Celebrity hotel. TGI Friday is one of the restaurant lacated at the hotel lobby but closed after 9 or 10pm. You can find other chinese restaurant and caffee shop in the hotel. But, for who wanted to taste the local food, I'm suggest you to travel to down town. More option.
