From the very first interaction with staff we were very pleasantly surprised. Driveway staff were helpful, check in staff were magnificent - Manager even accompanied us to our room with the bellboy. That attentiveness from all staff continued throughout our stay. As a newer hotel in Chinatown some taxi drivers were unsure of where it was, but that never turned into a problem. Location on the edge of Chinatown is great. And free internet actually worked at high speed!

I booked this hotel for a stopover for 3 nights. My room was great, big and by the looks of things, recently refurbished with glassed off wetroom/bathroom and big window. My only criticism of the room (and possibly every room although I don't know) was that it was a tiny bit damp. I've experienced that a lot in hot countries including Australia and Malta (even in 5 star hotels) so it's not the fault of the hotel necessarily. It was totally clean and well-looked after but if you are sensitive to it with Asthma or the like, perhaps not the most perfect choice. Otherwise, it was great. Good buffet breakfast too. Although they could get a better white wine choice at the bar. Only one choice and it was a sweet one. Blah. The location, for me, was perfect. A hop, skip and a jump to Chinatown, across the road from a non-glitzy shopping mall with food courts called People's Park which I loved. That was full of massage places, frame shops for cheap glasses and some great food - especially directly across the road from the hotel at a little outside food place called Cafe 168 (i think) I ate much better and far cheaper there than I did in the outside food street stalls in Chinatown which were really overpriced. It's also a 10-15 min walk straight down Cross St to Lau Pa Sat, a beautiful old colonial building housing countless hawker stalls. It's famous, good and cheap, worth a visit. The hotel is also super-close to Chinatown MRT stop which is about 3 direct stops to Little India and other connections. All in all, a good choice for me and I would go back.

Yes the room is small, but they put everything you need in that tiny room. There is a toiletries set provided to you daily, hair dryer, water boiler, LCD TV, locker, hangers and distilled water. The toilet is actually larger than I expected. The best thing about this hotel is its perfect location. Only 3 minutes walk from the MRT station. There are many shops and restaurants just downstairs. The famous Chinatown Yakun and Spizza are 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The corridors and rooms are a bit dark but for me it is acceptable. It is a little noise coming from the construction site near by. Yet, my Singaporean friend said this hotel is relatively expensive for a hotel in Chinatown.

The hotel sits next to the main street in Chinatown, within a 100 metres radius of this hotel are 3 hawker centres, underground MRT station, large shopping mall. Rooms are small but have high quality fittings including the bathroom, everything looks new and immaculate for cleanliness. Natural light comes through small windows. Bed was very comfortable wit memory foam and the aircon was quiet and powerful, wifi was solid and easily handled Youtube HD streaming. Room was quiet with no street noise on level 3, but I did hear people talking in the corridor or closing doors from time to time. The deal through Agoda was better than booking directly with the hotel and I enjoyed my stay here more than in a nearby 5-star hotel a few days earlier.

I stayed at the hotel from the 15/08/2015 to 21/08/2015. I read bad reviews so I was a bit apprehensive, but it turned out to be a good stay. Clearly, if you have experienced 3 stars hotel in France or UK, you'll be quite disappointed. The room wasn't as big, and just as much luxury as a 3 stars hotel in Europe I believe. However, the staff was really helpful, they called a taxi for me every single morning I was staying at the hotel, no matter who was at the reception. They helped me with the bus as well and where to go to buy things. I was surprised to read people saying the staff was rude. The thing is, I was expecting a bit more cleanliness from a 3 stars hotel, but it's a different country, so 3 stars hotel might be rate differently. The big thing, for most people, is, that it was a bit far from city centre. You have to hop on a taxi on the bus to get into city centre. You can go to Vivo City (15min walking or 5min on bus), then get on the tube, you should be in city centre, overall, within 20min. I was there for business, so I appreciated the quietness after a long day at work. For people who go there only as tourist, I wouldn't recommend it, since you can't just get out of the hotel and grab a bite within 2min of walking around. If you don't mind paying the taxi ( really cheap compared to France especially ), then go for it. Would I stay there again, yes I definitely would. But next time, I'll try to get a hotel more in city centre, only for convenience.

WE ARE ALL USED TO STAYING IN ORCHARD AREA DUE TO THE SHOPPING PLACES. BUT WHENEVER I AM IN SINGAPORE, I LIKE TO STAY AT THIS HOTEL BECAUSE OF THE CHINATOWN FOOD COURT AND THE FACT THAT WE'RE ONLY MINUTES AWAY FROM THE MRT. FIRSTLY, THE FOOD CHOICES IN CHINATOWN IS SPECTACULAR. THEN IF I WANTED TO SHOP IN ORCHARD, IT IS ONLY A FEW MRT STOPS AWAY. AT NIGHT COMING DOWNSTAIRS OF MY HOTEL, THERE ARE SEVERAL NICE PLACES TO GET A FEW DRINKS. BEST OF ALL, FREE NESPRESSO COFFEE FOR GUESTS OF THE HOTEL AND THE STAFF ARE GREAT. ROOMS ARE SMALL BUT THAT WHAT TO EXPECT FROM SUCH HOTELS BUILT ON HERITAGE SHOP HOUSES. STILL ITS A NICE AND COMFORTABLE PLACE TO STAY. WOULD RECOMMEND IT ANYTIME TO FRIENDS. RATES ARE REASONABLE TOO.

Will stay again in same hotel on our next visit to singapore. Staff were very helpful. Location was the best part of it. Near mrt, chinatown heritage center, hawkers center, malls, everything you need. The downside was there's water dripping from the ceiling of the toilet and it was smelly. So i sprayed perfume in our room. I hope they'll check on it. Overall.. it was a great stay.

stayed here with a friend and they made us very very welcome. the room was small but comfortable and clean with good bathroom and great shower. we did have a window but shutters would not open-a shame as i like to see the view! no other quibbles, though, the location in tiong bahru is excellent-a quiet neighbourhood, really interesting to walk around. a short walk to chinatown or to the mrt. one of the reasons for choosing the hotel was its proximity (just over the road) to tiong bahru market with its famous food centre. this certainly did not disappoint! some of the best food i've ever tasted and a nice open setting to eat it in. the everyday market downstairs is also well worth a look. for swimmers or even non-swimmers there is a lovely pool terrace on the roof of the hotel with a view over the trees and the surrounding area. would definitely recommend the nostalgia if you'd like a taste of old style suburban singapore.

Excellent. I have stayed at the best 5 star hotels in Singapore on Orchard Road but got tired of paying $250 per night. The Southbridge is very cheap by comparison but much better. It is in a beautifully converted old shophouse, but done up internally in a stylish and modern way, everything new and clean. Only a few months open so new beds, new bedding, new bathroom fittings, flat screen TV, free wifi, etc. Very friendly staff. Very secure. Need a key to use the elevator both up and down, and an electronic room safe for passport, etc. There is a nice bar with boutique beers at street level. It is 1 min walk to Chinatown MRT and so one can easily travel the whole island from there. It is also 1 min to the famous Chinatown restaurants and bars not to mention an Islamic Mosque, a Hindu Temple and a Bhuddist temple. Surprisingly, it is also very quiet, the windows seem to be double glazed so very little noise. There is also a 24/7 self service laundry only 5 mins walk away in Sago Lane. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will stay there again. I was in a single room, there alone, on business, so I don't know what the rooms for couples and families are like. But I would be surprised if they were not as good as my room. If I had one complaint it is that they need cable TV. The TV has about 8 channels but about 6 of them dedicated to sport. I find sport boring and so had very little to watch when I wanted to chill out at the end of a night of Chinatown dining.

I've stayed in a few hotels in Chinatown and this was my first time at Bliss Hotel and certainly won't be my last. The bed and pillow are super comfortable, they include a smartphone for you to use with free data and free international calls! The location is superb as it is located right across the street from the MRT station and Chinatown Point, a mall with a very good selection of restaurants and shopping. Right next door is a Cheers and around the corner is a 7-eleven. The hotel is also in between two McDonalds in case you arrive late and need to grad a bite to eat. One of the McD is 24 hours. Everything was very clean, and the staff was very courteous. I would definitely stay here again!

I booked this hotel for its location - the hotel 81 chain is known to be, along with the Frangrance chain, discount hotels that often double as love motels. I found the Hotel 81 - Osaka to have a good mix of standard vacationing patrons (not sure how many were love motel customers). I myself was visiting Singapore for 3 days and needed a clean, affordable place with good location and minimal dodginess - and I found it at the Hotel 81 - Osaka. There are good eateries and a hawker complex within a 5 minute walk as is Chinatown and the Outtram Park MRT. The neighborhood is quiet and residential but with good access to conveniences.

Hotel 1929 is clean & offers good breakfast & wifi. It has an old facade, as were most other bldgs along Keong Saik Rd. Our balcony room provided pretty views which included a temple to the right & more heritage structures to the left. Chinatown Complex (for outstanding food choices & shopping) is right behind & the Buddha Tooth Temple a stone's throw away. It is very accessible by train (one can ride in w/ luggages right from the airport) & bus stops are just around the corner.

We stayed for 4 nights and 4 days at the Inn room 211. The location is perfect -- a few steps and you're at the MRT, Chinatown food street, major Chinatown malls, Chinatown Heritage Center, temples, and so many cheap souvenir shops. We arrived at the hotel around 6:30 PM and everything was already prepared for us. The room is very small, but we knew that from the booking since we only booked a Superior Room. Their advertisements are exactly how the rooms are. The in-room facilities are complete -- towels, toiletries, tissue rolls, electric kettle, refrigerator, safe vault. We would have appreciated it better if there was a bidet, though. The water from the lobby is free so we can easily refill our tumbler any time of day. This is a big plus because Singapore's drinking water is expensive! They also let us check out late until 1 PM for free. The only thing we didn't like was the air conditioning. I think there's a problem with our aircon unit. The hallways were cooler than our room.

I booked this hotel without read all the reviews by others traveller. The room i stay was family room with queen bed double decker equipped with toilet and shower, mineral waters, coffee/tea. We are allowed to leave our bag in the hotel after check out. The hotel is in renovation but the floor and room we get is beyond expectation. Thanks mr. We stayed there twice as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 young kids) in the triple rooms and they were just ideal for that. they are spacious, the beds are large and the rooms are clean and modern. the second time, we even got the one in the 5th floor with balcony, which was a pleasant bonus. the staff is great, they offer storage space for bags and the Tiong Bahru Market with dozens of local food stalls (~4SGD/meal) is just around the corner. while the location in Singapore is great (close to Chinatown), it's a bit (~800m/10min walk) away to the next MRT (Tiong Bahru or Outram Park). But there might be a bus.

I love the design of the hotel, its so chic! Bed's comfy, we stayed at a room with balcony, best decision ever! You get to view chinatown from the top. The reception are very friendly and helpful too, upon checking in they were very polite and patient in explaining the rules and regulations of the hotel, and answer to all our questions attentively! Very strategic location too, very near to the train station as well as easy access to finding food. Also there's a bar below our hotel room, and there's live band too, but the band doesn't play until midnight so rest assured the we get very nice and quiet night rest. Even the chinatown market closed when its near midnight. But in my opinion even if the band or the market continues after midnight i still wouldn't mind though :) seriously great hotel! Would love to stay at this hotel again for my next visit!

Link Hotel has a unique history and located a short walk from a great hawker food centre. Hotel is clean and elegant with special Singapore images. We were adequately provided with a queen bed and cot, bottled water was tiny but appreciated. Taxi/Grab was more convenient than waiting for bus or walking relatively far to MRT (with children, outdoors). I did not have chance to try the Small gym, rooftop bar, but the reading nook was nice

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Six Senses Duxton, from the smooth check in to the 10/10 service from the staff our stay was nothing short of fabulous. We were disappointed to find out that the pool at Maxwell was shut for an event but reception offered us an amazing solution and we ended up dining at The Yellow Pot (recommend the mee sua noodles and the sirloin black pepper beef cubes). We booked the Opium room and I was thrilled to soak up the chinoiserie and dark mysterious vibe from A. Hempel. We even headed to the Maxwell location for a western breakfast the following morning, think sourdough croissant, banana parfait, eggs Benedict crab cakes, chicken waffles to name a few of our selects. I would absolutely return again and perhaps book a different suite the next time:-)

Although like all of hotel 81 chain across Singapore, Cosy is small budget hotel. But located in the heart of chinatown, its got more place to explore, more food stalls to enjoy and close to MRT and other business centre here. The room in clean and adequate for budget traveller of businessman alike. Will surely be back to enjoy chinatown areas and stay here in the small cozy hotel

Was right in the centre of Chinatown and very close to Chinatown train. Room was very clean-a bit noisy but if you want quiet probably the centre of the city is not the best place to go. Did have room safe and hot water for coffee etc. As they say on Agoda the lift and escalator are long term broken so have to carry luggage up 2 stairs. Contrary to the other reviews my room did not seem to be haunted-there were strange noises but I think that was pigeons outside.

Very easy to get to from the airport using the Train. The nearest station is Chinatown and there is a Exit/Entrance in the alleyway right next to the hotel (approx. 70 metres). Room was small but clean. Was the best value we could find in Singapore. We stayed for 2 nights. On the first night there was an issue with the power. Seemed like a fuse kept blowing. Luckily it was late and were already in bed and didn't need any lights etc. The Issue was in another room in the hotel and fixed for the second night. Within walking distance to Satay Street and Marina Bay Sands. Hope to return in the future!

We booked at chinatown but was upgraded to ann siang hill branch which is just a few minutes walk away. And was upgraded to 500sqft unit with one bedroom. Location is great, just near chinatown, a lot of food stalls nearby. Got a separate bedroom at the loft, with tv. A dining room, a living room with netflix. The entire unit was airconditioned. With 2 fridge, microwave, kitchen utensils (plates, bowls, spoons, knives, glasses, pitcher) with stove and pots, with washer and dryer. They provided, laundry soap, dishwashing soap, hand soap aside from shampoo and body soap. Phone is provided, Staffs are nice, easily contactable. But be careful not to spoil anything as will be charged. Was planning to pay the deposit through cash but it will be a hassle setting an appointment with the staff of the checkout day just to return the deposit since they’ll just be available during office hours. Decided to use card instead (and would probably have some processing charges from my bank).
