"The owner was enjoyable. He's kind of like a zany uncle. Some of the things he told us seemed inappropriate, but his best advice was about boarding a local bus: "Always be pushing". After we checked out and were walking away from the guesthouse, we heard him call out to us, "Don't forget the pushing!!!" It made our day."

"The house is about 10 minutes walk away from the main areas (fishing nets, restaurants). The room is basic with TV and en suite (hot shower). The room we had was very noisy, it shounds like someone is pouring water from a great height outside your room from 5 - 6 each morning which woke us up. The bed was too hard for us. The host and family were brilliant and so helpful. The breakfast was lovely, omelette, toast, tea and a bottle of water. "

"I was really lucky to know Anusha and her family. They offere a nice homestay permanence and tasty local breakfast. Anusha is polite and available every moment I needed her help. She arranged personally the evenings of local culture and accompanied me to see the traditional carnival of Kochi. I was invited also to a family birthday party. I recommend this homestay to anyone wants to know the culture of the south Kerala. Thank you, Anusha and all the family. Hope see you the next time. Eva"

"Patrick and Mary were excellent hosts at Heavenly Homestay. We stayed at the start, and again at the end of our trip around Kersla, and we were really well looked after. Our first room was upstairs. It was spotlessly clean, and, unusually for India, had a kettle, and tea making facilities. Breakfast was great - in fact, we were overwhelmed by the hospitality - fresh fruit, fried eggs, omelette, egg curry, leaf curry, cauliflower curry, toast, jam, tea and coffee etc. more than enough to keep us going for most of the day. Our second room, on the ground floor was smaller. Again very clean, but no kettle etc here. It was noisier here, with the mozzie door constantly opening and slamming shut. We could also hear the family as they were up very early. Not a huge problem though. Patrick arranged anything we needed - he was very helpful, organising transport, and making suggestions where we may like to visit, and offering to arrange trips. We mostly arranged our own at a keener price, but he didn't seem to mind that. He kindly printed boarding passes for us, and seemed very genuine. They are proud of their #4 rating on trip advisor, and would really like to improve on that. It was one of the nicest places we have stayed in India, and also one of the best value for money. I would highly recommend this establishment."

All for free. He is indeed a very simple and kind person. Not money minded at all. I would ask people to stay here for a peaceful holidays."
