In my view, the swimming pool is one of selling point of the hotel, this area should be well maintained, at least the staff should clean it before opening to the public.

There are shuttle buses provided. but you have to call them when you want them to pick you up. so you gotta have a taiwan number. But then again, there are other hotels that guarantees a scenic view with balcony and near the streets (so you dont have to rely on the shuttle bus at all).

It is for sure worthy for every penny we spent to stay at this hotel. We booked the lake view room. It's indeed right at the lake with a balcony. We could see the lake and hear the lake and eat at the lake. There are not really good restaurants around the spot. Hence, we bought some street food and ate at our own balcony. Very professional. We indeed would love to come back again. Highly recommend to stay for two nights than one, since the weather at sun moon lake actually change rapidly. You never know what could happen next day!

But the food quality and preparation as well as restrictions for meal time were overpriced for a five-star hotel. It is improper to treat all the guests like group tourists. If you’re planning to stay in SML, Ita Thao is the best location to stay because it’s the most “touristy” place I would say. It’s really close to the Formosan Aboriginal village which I loved. This hotel is the best hotel to stay in for the price paid. The hotel staff were very nice and accommodating, although my Friend and I are mandarin speaking so I can’t say for non mandarin speaking guests. But they are so nice that it’s nothing Google translate can’t help. A lot of the attractions in SML can be easily obtained/inquired at front desk. The room is comfy and spacious enough though not exactly luxurious. Overall, loved my stay there ❤️

Great location, very close to the scenic bike trail and bike rental shops. Rooms are massive with a large balcony window for a view of the surroundings. Some mosquitoes in the room, probably due to the time of year and proximity to the water. When I got there, I realised that the king size bed in the room was very big and 3 of us fitted in nicely with space to move about. Nonetheless, my daugther was intrigued by the small little bed set out for her, and made herself comfortable in her nest. The extra bed is small, and will only fit in someone who is less then 1.6M. Room has a great view, you can see the sun moon lake just by sitting at the window ledge, and I found this jetty more tranquil compared to the main jetty (水社）which has a lot of tourist from mainland China.But the windows turn into a reflective mirror at night, so keep the curtains closed. Service The greatest thing about this hotel is the wonderful service and smiles from their staff. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted with smiles. We were checked in at no time, and the staff gave us a good tour of the room, explaining all the facilities available. The restaurant staff were also very friendly, and presented my daugther with some local cookies when she appeared to be grumpy. Food Breakfast was buffet on one day, and another day it was a la carte selection from the menu. Dinner was fusion food that came in small quantity fine dining style for one day, and chinese style the next day. Food quality was good, and quantity was too much for us to finish on all the days. Location Hotel was at a good location, just 3 mins walk from the jetty. 7-11 and cultural street was just steps away, so we could always get some stuff that we need when we wanted

It's just so close to the hotel rooms, the music seems to be playing inside your own room. I literally had a headache after the third hour of non-stop playing. 2) the breakfast. The breakfast area was ok, you're only gonna have a nice table with a view if you get there early and line up. But the breakfast itself was just "meh". I'd suggest adding some more western options. We basically had cereal. I've lived in Taiwan for 10 months now, and I've gotten used to a lot. But waking up and eating french fries and noodles is something that I will never get used to. Some more sweet options would be nice. The hotel is not new or extravagant, but it's cozy and it has a great view of the lake. Service was also good. They held our luggage before check-in and after check-out. And they spoke a fair amount of English, and humored our mediocre Chinese. All in all, I'd give this an overall 4/5 stars!

The hotel's luminous star ceiling that glows in the dark is a nice touch. Breakfast is served in the nearby sister, Harbor Resort Hotel. Breakfast was plenty and yummy. The hotel offers a discounted unlimited one-day ferry pass for 100 NTD for its guests.

Not much of view from the room but you don't really need it, because step out! that's why you're there at Sun Moon Lake! So many trails around. The breakfast is not something so tasty that will drag you out of bed, but it is decent enough to feed yourself. If you are not happy with it, a few steps away there are many choices from the streets. Feel free to ask the staff to prepare something different for you, we asked them to replace the ham/ hot dog (really not tasty) with potato and you can also ask them for simply bring you more eggs for example. They are friendly enough to try their best to satisfy your every demand. I strongly recommend this hotel. Set your expectation right, then I'm sure you'll find it a nice choice of staying.

The shower enclosure is clear (not frosted like the glass for toilet area), so the shower and lavatory areas cannot be used simultaneously. For people whose concern is privacy, this may be a little awkward (especially if you're staying here with people who are not family or close friends). The shower knobs were tricky to operate, even though a guide was provided (mostly in Chinese). The hotel is located a few minutes away from the port/observation deck, so it's really a good location. There are convenience stores (7-11 and Family Mart) nearby, as are restaurants and food stalls (but because it was raining when we were there, they closed really early--like 6pm). Check-in and check-out were a breeze, we simply fill up a short form upon check-in, and surrendered the keycards for check-out.

However the best part of the Inn is their delicious, homemade breakfast made with local ingredients. Delicious, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing, the meals were a big highlight for us!

i stayed in this hotel with my wife and 5 year old daughter. i booked a deluxe double room but the hotel owner upgraded me to a room with 1 queen-size bed and a single bed upon seeing my daughter. very considerate, helpful and friendly hotel staff. the hotel room is clean as well. the balcony of my room could see the beautiful view of xuan guang temple (玄光寺). i t...i stayed in this hotel with my wife and 5 year old daughter. i booked a deluxe double room but the hotel owner upgraded me to a room with 1 queen-size bed and a single bed upon seeing my daughter. very considerate, helpful and friendly hotel staff. the hotel room is clean as well. the balcony of my room could see the beautiful view of xuan guang temple (玄光寺). i traveled from taichung high speed rail station to sun moon lake by bus. the bus stopped at shui she area (水社) of sun moon lake. the hotel is 4 minutes walking distance from the bus station. the location of this hotel is very convenient as it is close to shui she harbour where tourists take sightseeing boats. 7-11 is right opposite the hotel, plenty of restaurants and souvenir shops around this area. the breakfast provided by the hotel was not up to my expectation, but no problem getting breakfast nearby. all of us enjoyed staying in this hotel very much.
