"This hotel is less than one year old on N Escario St, near the Provincial Capitol building, and also near Cebu Doctors' University Hospital. Upon check-in, and throughout my stay, the hotel staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean with firm bedding and air con. Comfort room had separate shower area with on demand hot water heater, (which worked very well). Standard western toilet w/out bidet. Bar/cafe downstairs in front of hotel for pleasant entertainment in the evening and the hotel offered free breakfast in the AM, which was adequate but not fantastic. Elevator lift was available, but somewhat small. A convenience store is in the lobby for snacks, drinks, and stuff you may have forgotten to pack. Staff was friendly and fun. The price was great, and I got an upgrade on one day at no additional cost, due to a booking error. I would certainly consider staying at the Maxwell Hotel again! Mabuhay!"

"It was just a street across where we needed to go for the week we were in Cebu. After 3 days stay and the wonderful accommodations we experienced in those 3 days, we were hoping to be able to extend our stay for the rest of the 11 nights we had to stay in Cebu. Unfortunately, it was a holiday weekend in Cebu (Sinulog) and we could no longer get any rooms from Jan 18-22. Although we had to move to another hotel on Jan 17, we will definitely recommend and consider staying in Fuente Oro Business Suites again. The only room available when we booked less than a week before our trip was a Standard Room which had 2 Single Beds. Considering the location and and extremely reasonable rate, we decided to proceed with the booking and hope for the best. When we saw the room, we were more than satisfied. The beds were pushed together so that my husband and I could have a king-like bed. The sheets and towels smelled really clean/sanitized and they were changed every time we made a request. Although the mattress was comfortable, it would have been nicer if there were 2 pillows per bed (rather than one) and the blankets were not so thin. The airconditioners were working well, very cold, in fact when we maxed out the cooling temperature. Hopefully Fuente Oro can mainten their airconditioners well as the years go on. Water pressure was good and heated water was available consistenly, so showers were pleasant to take. Breakfast was served at their penthouse dining area, but you had the option of having it served in your room. This worked out well for us since there were days I had to stay in bed. We ordered room service twice because we trusted their kitchen given the perfectly cooked eggs we asked for at breakfast. Wireless internet access is complimentary but does not reach the rooms, so you had to go to the lobby which does provide a stable connection. The lobby/coffee shop wasn't so busy that it wasn't much of a hassle to surf and check email there. "

"My friend and I had originally booked into a different hotel which we were less than happy with. We decided to visit this hotel before booking and although we had only seen the reception and lobby went and booked the rest of our stay at this hotel. It was a fantastic move, as the staff were very polite, helpful and welcoming. The whole hotel was very clean and tidy. We held our breath worrying about the room, we shouldn't have been as it was clean, tidy with a great sized bathroom with a huge shower, two very comfortable beds and cable T.V. Room service was 24/7 and they were more than happy to bring you whatever you wanted from the menu. The room service and housekeeping were very accommodating and speedy. The pool and gym were at the top of the hotel and had a member of staff there at all times to serve food and drinks. We did also eat at the restaurant for dinner where again the staff were polite and friendly. The food was very good although portions were smaller than we were used to. We had breakfast included which did have a very large range albeit mostly Asian foods which we found to be strange to put out for breakfast e.g. pork medallion, rice and noodle dishes and cakes. Regardless we always found something e.g. pancakes, omelettes and toast. There was also a free shuttle to the malls nearby twice a day, which we never found to be full. Though should you miss the shuttle or wish to go earlier than the shuttle, there was a doorman more than happy to flag a taxi for you. There are spa treatments that you can have in your room or by the pool but these are the only places where these can be performed as there is no actual spa area in the hotel. My friend and I had a massage in our room which was very relaxing. I highly recommend this hotel whether your stay be long or short. I have no doubt your stay will be comfortable and enjoyable."

"What I love about the hotel is how clean it was and for the price that we were paying, it was a great stay. Love the location - although the hotel is at a secluded area but it is still a walking distance to Larsian BBQ, Robinson Mall and Mango Square. Love the always helpful and friendly staffs too (Check in and check out was a breeze). Surprisingly it's very easy to get a cab here (there seems to be plenty of cab hanging around in front of the hotel). Love the various TV channels (too bad we only spent limited time in our room). Food was nothing fancy but still satisfying considering the price that we were paying (Note: Must try the first one on the menu. That was our favourite!). The room also comes with complimentary wifi but the connection isn't that good if you are inside the room. However, there's a place for you to sit at the corridor if you want uninterrupted connection. The only downside to our stay were the thin layer of blanket (we had to readjust the air conditioner temperature several times during the first night) and also the problem with the shower head in our bathroom (low water pressure). We didn't complaint though as it were still bearable. Nevertheless, if you are looking for a peaceful and quiet place to stay near the main attractions of Cebu City, this is the place! "

"When I first entered the room there was a mould smell but as soon as I turned on the aircon and left it on for a little, it soon cleared. The bed is comfy and the room is brand new and spacious. I didn't get to have food there but theres a massage place next door which closes at 1am. Very good massage. The customer service of this hotel is also amazing. Id definitely stay here again :) "

"I almost didn't write a review because I don't want too many people to know about Hamerson's Hotel so it isn't fully booked when I want to go there! The staff is very friendly and accommodating within reason for guests. I really appreciated that they will hold bags after check out for a short while. My flight out was in the evening so being able to leave my bags at the hotel after check out made going to the mall and doing things before my flight much simpler. The plated breakfast options are simple but also nice since you know what you are going to get. The hotel has good water pressure in the showers, the hot water is predictable and the air conditioning is good for the foreign travelers who are not yet used to the heat and humidity of the Philippines. "What I loved: 1. PRICE! (I mean omg are you insane? It's like hostel/backpackers/pension house price for a hotel) 2. Wi-Fi - if you stay in Cebu a while you'll realize that fast and reliable internet is very rare in budget hotels. (even in expensive ones) Here it was fast AND reliable. 3. Location - lots of options in the area and short uber anywhere else (or jeep or taxi) Note: it's at the end of a street and newer so Uber or grab is your best bet to make sure the drivers find it) 4. Rooms- tiny for the cheapest ones, but bed is comfy for just sleeping and winding down. Bathroom is good sized with hot water and basics. TV is available and a bit of storage. 5. Free breakfast - for what you pay, anything other than a room is a bonus now. But breakfast is good, several Filipino options and a few american (to those complaining it's limited- it's FREE breakfast at a budget hotel... If you want better food, venture outside for some restaurants or stay at Best Western for 5k a night and buffet) 6. Restaurant area- I didn't eat much at the resto and when I did it wasn't anything special. But the area was great for working. If you are on a business was trip, it is nice to have. 7. Parking- available first come, first served. If you need it, it's there. CONS: As people have said, on the back side rooms there is rampant rooster activity. This never bothered me as I was usually too tired when I got back to sleep. Be prepared, bring earplugs or noise cancelling. They can be very annoying. During my stay, the hallways were fairly quiet but it seems there is a potential to be loud in the peak seasons if more guests are in the hallway talking. Again, bring noise protection! Trust me, you'll need it even if you stay other places usually. Rooster and traffic noises are everywhere. If you temper your expectations, this hotel really is a great little gem. I'm glad I listened to the positive reviews and tried them out. I will be back here now every time I go to Cebu."

"The hotel for me, is simple. But that's just how we like it. The hotel is excellent. It is near to everywhere, 5 minutes taxi ride to Ayala Center, right next to a McDonald's, walking distance to Church. The hotel is part of a commercial area that they are currently building/developing. So when you're probably reading this a few weeks from now, there should be restaurants or cafes on the area itself. It is very promising. The room is not very large as we had 2 queen beds. I saw the red room, and it was quite spacious. Maybe because of the difference in bed sizes. It has everything you need- a very comfortable bed, a bathroom with hot and cold shower, a cable TV and of course, A/C. I like this hotel because I prefer minimalism. I distracts me when there are things I don't need in the hotel room, like too much desks, shelves and cabinets. When you get out of your room, you are greeted by a bed of plants. The hotel is filled with them and there is also a lawn area where you can sit down and relax under an enormous umbrella which gives it a tropical feel. I agree with the previous comment, it would be great if the door would open and you wouldn't be exposed to the outside. And we tried to ask for a chair, we were presented with one right away. The staff is outstanding. Always in smiles, and very accommodating. The rooms are clean and even more squeaky clean after housekeeping. I'm from a customer service oriented company and I definitely approve. I will definitely come back and stay here. And I would recommend you to my friends. Great job you guys! "
