"This hotel is situated right on the transport hub of Matsuyama - trains, trams and buses all meet here, yet from inside our room you would know it - no noise from traffic below. Room was above average size by Japanese standards and, although obviously not new was still very very clean and well maintained. The ground floor cafe/bar was convenient and good value for money. Best value was the discounted tickets to the local sento (public path) 400 yen instead of usual price of 600 yen. Staff will provide you with a carry bag for your towels to take on the very short walk to the sento. We went several times and frankly, rated it a much more seemingly "authentic" Japanese exeperience than the much touted Dogo Onsen which is located nearby. Overall the staff at the Terminal Hotel were very friendly, helpful and great to deal with. Would defintitely recommend this hotel."

"Very consistent, APA chain of hotels usually don't give any surprises. The room was very clean with a bunch of amenities, Yukata, slippers, toiletries etc....but also tiny, which is the norm, in Japan. If you book in advance, you can get good deals. Unfortunately my airbnb host was a female crook, so I had to leave the apartment and book with APA at the last minute. It was expensive, but they saved my life as it is very hard to find last minute accommodations, in Matsuyama. The only tiny down side is the location. It is accross from a beautiful park, but you will need to walk 15/20mn to/from Matsuyama JR station. But besides that, the staff was wonderful, very helpful and everything else was just perfect."

"The location is good as there is a speed bus stop outside the hotel. It is good for people who wanna hop from one prefecture to another. Located near Mitsuyama castle, it is in the city center that the tourist spots can be accessed easily. What surprised me most were the massage facilities in the room. They were just perfect for fatigue relief after having a hot bath in the bath tub in the room."

"So, I booked this while seeking a place to visit and the photos looked nice. It could not be better located for a English-speaking tourist. The tram only costs 160 yen (~US$1.50) per ride and stops in front of the hotel; catch it at JR Station and ride in classic comfort on old-time rail. You can walk too if you prefer because nothing is that far away it seems in a walkable city. Otherwise, the ropeway up to the castle is a short walk from the hotel on a tourist attraction street; there is a modern, poured concrete museum that is OK across the street; and a more classical victorian-style mansion from the Meiji era. Nightlife abounds around the hotel. And you can rent a bicycle for only 300 yen/day next to the hotel on the Okaido covered street, or JR station; or the famous Dogo Onsen in town, to which you can ride also on the cheap streetcar. Unfortunately, the night staff when I arrived could not really speak English, so none knew how to advise me briefly on where to start my exploring. However, that is OK; they get more Chinese tourism it appears. Oh, and I could not get Internet to work first night; but next day it worked. I suspect they had to reset the router, but the night clerks would did understand that. Also, I had to ask for a US power adapter for my computer, but they had none. That was fine; next day it made for a task to explore the city and find EDION megastore, where the adapter cost me about 200 yen (~US$1.80). The reason I mention this is, if I were a hotel, I'd stock a handful of cheap power adapters for different nations since they are so inexpensive for the absent-minded travelers like myself to borrow on arriving or buy.
