idyllic concept is located on sunrise beach which is a family beach. it is right on the water and during high tide, it's a picture perfect view. must try the squid in lime sauce at the hotel restaurant. as you walk along the beach, more food and drinks are available from the resort owned bars and restaurants. do go to forra resort, run by a french couple, and try their pad thai - can safely say it is one of the best i have had in thailand. a short walk along the walking street, which is filled with shops, eating and drinking places, you reach pattaya beach which is teh more happening side to be at night. we found our hotel very comfortable, ideally located and i was very happy with my choice. try and book your ferries to arrive at the resort before 3pm during high tide. low tide is a disappointing first impression so try and avoid.

First of all, there are 3 main beaches on the island and Serendipity is on the best one: Sunrise beach. It's at the far end and has a charming secluded beach area in front of it. Combined with the 'in the hillside' design of the suites you get a very serene isolated experience. It's very calming. The downside with any kind of isolation is that it makes getting to main attractions a bit of a pain. Getting to the main hub of restaurants is a bit of a walk and even getting to the beach from your room can be 100+ step stair case so don't forget anything. This isn't a walk out your door onto the beach but then again, there is no one walking in front of your suite either like beachfront ones do.

Mountain resort has received some mixed reviews and as always your satisfaction will be based on what you pay and expectations. We were only there for 2 nights after spending 3 nights elsewhere on the island. We splashed out on the Grand Sea View Rooms which was expensive for a 3 star resort but Koh Lipe is an expensive island on the whole accommodation wise. Pros: The view is the Sea View room was simply stunning, the best I've ever had. Large balcony with full length windows on two sides of the room and large windows to maximise the view. The room was very light and spacious and the balcony lovely. Beach - the best beach on the island, you can snorkel just metres off the shore, lovely water, not too many boats compared to other beaches on the island. Other people mention dogs, we saw a few, all harmless, the may go under your sunbed to get some shade. Pool is nice but no one really uses it with the lovely beach. Shuttle bus - goes every 15 mins or so from 6-10pm to take you to the main bar/restaurant area. Highly recommend you do this, there is no atmosphere in the hotel restaurant and Koh Lipe 'Walking street' is buzzing, filled with good cheap restaurants and bars and is friendly atmosphere for all ages (e.g. kids to 60+), e.g. it's not full of rowdy backpackers as you might expect. Cons: Bed is v. uncomfortable. You can feel the springs in the mattress. Staff - english is limited and therefore they don't give you much info on the resort island etc, do your research on the island before going. Location - I don't think the location is a 'con' as you can't have a nice clean boat-free beach if you are close to the hustle and bustle on Koh Lipe, but if you don't want to get a shuttle or pay for a taxi (approx £1 per person wherever you go on the island) then this hotel might not be for you.

Breakfast by the beautiful blue sea, fanned by gentle ocean breeze. This is as ideal as you can get. We had a room facing the beachfront. Waking up to a wonderous sunrise. Breakfast was provided promptly as requested. The room was equipped with all the usual amenities. Service was courteous and quick. Staff were happy to obliged with our request for extra bed, warming our takeaway food, extras for our meals, etc. Reception happily catered to our whims. Cherry had the most wonderful welcoming smile. Hotel was within proximity of Walking Street, which is the vibrant part of Koh Lipe. Here, you can find all the restaurants, bars, street food, massage facilities, supermarkets, etc. We chose Sunrise Beach because it is the most peaceful of the three beaches. A tiny complaint: extra toilet rolls would be better. Otherwise, a most wonderful choice for an accommodation.

You open your front doors (which are actually huge windows) and you are already on the beach, and it's one of the best spots on the beach on the whole island. It's pretty amazing. The beach is beautiful and quiet, not many people (just the few others staying at Anda really). This was a great location. Further up the beach or some good but quiet restaurants. This beach is much more mellow and nicer than the other big one on the island. The room is clean, the bed is huge and comfortable, the bathroom was huge and very nice. Overall this place was amazing.

I found some crazy reviews before this booking. Please read my review if you have some concerns about the resort and island. Those negative reviews are unacceptable from my perspective. I feel very sorry who had hard times in this place and resort. Do not go to Koh Lipe Island if you have problems with nature. Mosquitos, flyers everywhere on the island. Island is very tiny so resorts have not big spaces and lands. You will also live in bungalow on tiny island so please stop complain about roster crowing, sea waves and other peoples walking or their talking. I am also very sorry and disappointed whoever brings trolley luggages. I saw 70 kgs trolley luggages who are trying to drag it on the beach. Dear traveller friends. You will have minimum 2 boat trips and minimum 2 car transfers until the island. Please show your mercy to your self and do not bring those luggages to the islands. Save and take care your back, thai speed ferry staff, hotel staff, Car and bus drivers. The hotel staff and island locals are amazing. They are all smiling and we found them very friendly. I also founded coldest beer in the town just right next to hotel on the beach. Vibe bar is coolest beach bar i've ever seen with dream catchers, lights and music. Magical atmosphere and stuff. Satun Dive Resort, located right on the beach with amazing location. Close everywhere. Yo do not need to wash your face. Just get out from resort and dive in. Get some cocktails on your back to your room. Best holiday ever. Simple, cozy and positive. Thank you Satun, Vibe and Koh Lipe.

After reading the reviews for Zanom, I really expected various things to go wrong, but we ended up having a wonderful time. The resort, as said by others is rustic and people who are after a sterile environment should not stay there. Beach bungalows are lined up so that only the first one in the row overlooks the sea and the rest of beach bungalows are behind, so they only have a view of sandy front yard. There are also garden view bungalows in the next line. We booked a beach view bungalow via Agoda and given the resort had vacancies when we arrived, we got upgraded to the only sea view bungalow the resort holds and the resorts holds exclusive right of selling that one via their website only. The bungalow was just as it appeared in the photos I've seen on Agoda, for the beach bungalow. I read some people were saying there was no hot water in the shower. We had no problem, there was as much hot water as desired. The bathroom has a small unit on the wall, next to the shower, with a button, where people can adjust how hot they like their shower water to be and use it straight away. The problem might have arisen sometime in the past, or during dry season when the resort operates in the full capacity. My impression and recommendation is to visit this island during the wet season as we did, because there will much fewer visitors at the island (and still there are more visitors than, in for exaple Koh Samui or Koh Phi Phi in wet season) and everything would be available just like during dry season (although I also read that we would find a few restaurants only open during wet season, which is totally incorrect, everyone is working in the wet season as well). The main problem is that online weather forecasts for any island in Thailand, if looked at during wet season will show rain all the time, once you arrive to the destination, there is no rain, this was the case with us at Koh Lipe as well as last year in October with Koh Samui. The hotel is on one of the best spots on sunrise beach has its own private little beach with no tailboats parked up outside like most the other hotels The hotel itself is nice and clean we had the family room for 4 of us 2 adults 2 children and it was perfect 1 king size bed 1 double bed and 1 sofa with great views of the ocean The ocean outside the hotel is great for snorkelling and the hotel have all the equipment u can borrow they also have an underwater camera u can hire and they have memory cards u can buy to keep for 200 baht The hotel staff are very friendly it seems like a family run hotel and the staff can’t do enough for you The only negatives I can think of for people with walking disabilities is it’s a quite steep entry in and out of the hotel if u want to head into the centre of Lipe but u can walk along the beach or there is a little hotel bahtbus that takes people along if requested but we found walking along the beach no problem and is about 10-15 mins walk into the centre of Lipe The breakfast is really basic but still I wouldn’t let that stop us from returning next year 9.5/10 from us

The castaway was a pleasure from the moment we arrived. There is a member of staff waiting at every ferry arrival for directions and to take luggage. It is a very short walk from the ferry drop off. Whilst checking in we were given a cold juice and told to sit and relax, which was appreciated after the crazy speedboat ride. There is a delicious free (All day!!) breakfast and the bar has 2 for 1 cocktails during happy hour. The beach looks like a postcard and the view from the common space/bar/restaurant is heavenly! The only downside of this place is that the rooms are fan only and it's stinking hot. It's very dark at night coming from walking street but the neighbouring hotel has tiki torches back to the beach. Just take a torch and plenty of mosquito repellant as there are lots of mozzies. Lipe is so beautiful and the Castaway is the perfect place to stay for a sublime Lipe experience.

Dear Ann! Now we stayed in your Oasis-Resort for the second time this year 2017. Second time in your resort – cause we like it so much! Your apartments are very clean and lovely decorated. It’s a special charme. We felt very comfortable in the big and yellow rooms with the bathroom partly under the open sky. What a great idea! In contrast to the other hotels and resorts on Koh Lipe, the enclosed terrain is very safe because you are always there. We were never afraid that something could be stolen - the best we could find on Koh Lipe! But what really appealed to us was your hospitality and your kindness. It felt like family. Thanks for all your help and support. Especially when we lost our luggage at the airport in Singapore. You took care of our luggage and then the luggage came directly to the resort. That was so great! We say you are a perfect chef and your resort is great and has good connections to the island. Also your husband is a very nice person and we look forward to see you and him soon … also to go for a snorkeling-trip on your boat :·) Kind regards to all of you! Greetings from Berlin! And for all who want to read an authentic review: Oasis Resort is 4-5 minutes walk from the beach. When you walk to the Oasis, you are away from the hustle and bustle of the village core of Koh Lipe (4 minutes to Walking Street). It is all very individually designed and it feels rather on a private grounds than a hotel complex. The laundry can be cleaned directly at Oasis. The rooms are cleaned every time as requested. The toilet with the shower are in relation to other accommodations very large, clean with beautiful mirror and sideboard. Whether air conditioning or fan - both were sufficient for us … Against the mosquitoes one can buy burnable spirals in the nearby 7Eleven shop. A place to sleep, rest, enjoy, let your soul dangle and a base where you can be easy. :·)

Great spot on the beach with a cool beach bar , staff were nice , room was clean although didn't have a fridge in the standard room. It was good to stay here for a few nights while we got to know the island and found somewhere cheaper, off the beach as it's easy to get around the island and we wanted to stay longer. We still came back to the same spot on the beach to swim and have a few drinks at the bar most days as the location is great and we liked the people. Would stay here again as the price was not cheap in regards to what you would normally get for that price elsewhere in Thailand but for the island seemed good value for money given the location.

the lipe power beach resort is not a 5* resort but for the price they ask you get a very good value. hotel location is one of the best on the island. sunrise beach is quieter than pattaya beach. lipe walking street is only few steps away. pattaya beach is not to far as well. main nightlife and restaurants/bars are located on the lipe walking street and pattaya beach. don’t expect to have sea view because sea view is only from sea front bungalows. other bungalows don’t have sea view. bungalows are pretty close to each other but i don’t think that it should be a concern because you can have your privacy at least a little privacy. bungalows have air conditioner and also hot water shower. there is a swimming pool but the water was so hazy that you could not see the first step of the pool ladder. don’t worry because the hotel is located in front of the sea so you can take a swim at the sea. staff is friendly and helpful but they may not understand english very well. buffet breakfast was ok, nothing superb but ok. i highly recommend this hotel to everybody who is looking for the accommodation with reasonable price and is not looking for a 5* resort. if you are looking for luxury then i would recommend you to stay @ idyllic concept resort because idyllic concept resort is also located on the sunrise beach and can offer more luxurious stay.

Happiest staff we've ever seen in a resort - most young, enthusiastic, clearly all friends, with an eye on stepping up when anyone needs extra help (eg. when the bar gets busy). It may be because the bar and restaurant closes at 7pm, meaning no late nights dealing with tourists who overimbibe. That may be a negative for some guests, but honestly, there are so many good places to eat within a short walking distance - on Walking Street, the far end of Sunrise Beach, and elsewhere. The rooms were clean, comfortable, with hammocks out front, great aircon, and a friendly cleaning policy (drop the key off if you want your room cleaned, otherwise they leave you be). They were pricey, but most rooms on this island are (especially if with air con). Bring your own beach towel and/or beach mat if you want more than the small sarong they offer. Hotel does have a good rental desk with masks, snorkels, soft beach bag beds, underwater cameras, kayaks, and more. Best sunset just around the corner!

We stayed in the premium suite above the check-in counter. Absolutely worth the extra money since we had a nice ocean view from a private deck where we watched the sunrise and were served a good breakfast. The room itself has a unique decorum and the shower and toilet are outside, which was a new experience for me. The lady at the counter was exceedingly friendly and helpful. She took care of all our needs. The man didn't really do much, but he seemed nice enough. The hotel is a little hard to find as it is small and squeezed between two other resorts. If you have a map of Sunrise Beach, the hotel should be on there (toward the south end) but marked as a restaurant. The beach is directly in front of the hotel; unfortunately, this part of Sunrise is not the best. The water is littered with long-tail boats. Walk a few minutes north to enjoy the nicer areas. Also, as some mentioned before, the bar next door plays music until 1 or 2 am. It wasn't too bad for us since the wind was very high that night, but for light sleepers it could bother you. Lastly, the hotel is overpriced but not too ridiculous. The other resorts probably offer more for a little more. I couldn't tell you. I would, however, stay in the premium room again and recommend it to my friends. If you're on the cheap and don't mind a little inconvenience (and discomfort), Adang is just across the sea - a 100-baht/8-minute boat ride. Rent a tent and save heaps staying on the other island. The only problem with this plan is a boat back to Lipe can be unpredictable and you might end up waiting for an hour or more. We were lucky and got a boat within minutes. I also wanted to address some of the comments about Lipe's cleanliness. From what I read I'd been expecting a floating garbage heap. Turns out these were total exaggerations. Yeah, Lipe isn't the cleanest island you'll come across in Thailand, but it was quite lovely and fun. Don't let those negative reviews stop you from going.

For first timer to Lipe if you don't know which area to stay. Look no further. This is ideal location if you don't have budget for room facing the sea. It is just 2 mins walk to sunrise Beach and 5 mins to walking street. And then you can see Pattaya beach. Pattaya Beach is too commercial. Sunset Beach is very small. Sunrise Beach is perfect. I told the owner photos of the rooms of this place on web don't do justice. The actual place is very neat and clean. Big bed with air-con and shower.

Gipsy Resort is the best place to chill and it is the best location to enjoy sunrise and swimming... both of the owner of this resort are really friendly and helfull, and so are thier staff Maria & Am , it is not a 5 star resort yet it is a place where i got my 5 star treatment and location, it is woth the money, it is less then 3 minutes to the walking street , to find good bar and good restaurants there.. just to remind all of you, Koh Lipe is a small Island, if you need to shower,sometimes the water pressure can be a little bit slow..so just deal with it. I took 2 floor bungalow near the sea..and we dont get air-conditioned room but it is still enjoy place to staya and had a great sleep. I highly recommend this resort if you are looking for serinity and place to release your tention. and remember! start your day by having breakfast by the sea over looking the beautiful sunrise, atleast I did that every morning while im here!
