"firstly, i had actually booked and paid for the wrong date due to my carelessness. but however, when i contacted the hotel staff, they were very polite and helped me through to book the next day. however, if you do not know their national language which is malay, you might have some communication problem. my wife and i, came out from the customs and we actually were happy to know that we took about 7 minutes to walk to the hotel. the hotel is not a very tall one, and is among some normal shops and easy to miss, but when we stepped in, we were glad that it looked modern and clean. the front desk greeted us and gave us our room key, and when we went to the rooms, we were surprised that it was really beautiful. their interior decor and paint colours were really vibrant and created a very cosy feeling. beds were comfy and sheets were clean, so were the toilets. i had this feeling that cirus hotel is either new or went through a recent upgrade as everything looks new. their paintings on the room walls were very creative. however, please note that the view outside is not that fantastic. breakfast was pretty good. a buffet variety of a continental breakfast and their local delights. and the awesome part is that it starts at 6.30am. good for people like me who had to check out earlier!"

"I had a very comfortable experience while staying in this hotel. The room was really up to high standard and the toilet was extremely clean. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of selection. The car park located at the basement is safe for parking due to the high security of the hotel. This is one of the best hotel that I have stayed in Malaysia. Thank you for your excellent service and standard:) I have recommended this hotel to various friends."

"It was a pleasent stay, good deco, courteouse staff, comfortable bed, relaxing enviroment. Location wise it is great, with all the great choise of food selectiom within walking distance of the hotel. Because of the location, traffic is hectic most if the time, so its best to take "Grab" out from Amari and meet your friend somewhere else, because it may take longer time for your frend to come pick you up with the hectic traffic. The pool view room window is way too close for comfort with the opposite apartment, literary can see into each others room clearly. The in room safe is not mounted down to something, and its lightweight enough for a teenager to just pick up the safe. For a 5 star hotel, these can be improve upon. The toilet mini soap holder and cup is the transpatent plastic type, which agian; for a 5 star hotel seems kinda odd. Pool is kinda small but nice, because its not always pack; so one can enjoy by the pool side relaxing. Overall, i would recommend to stay here for friends and relative. Above mention just play to personal prefferenfe and impression. For location, price, and reknown wise; Amari JB is a choise to look at for lodging in JB."

"Brand new hotel, rooms were clean. Nice rooms but a little bit small. The bed was plenty comfy with two types of pillows -- soft and firm. The staff were great. Everyone from the concierge, porters, front desk to the restaurant staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome with their warm greetings and smiles. Breakfast was good for a hotel under MCO. You could just order anything you want from the breakfast menu, as much as you like and the staff would bring it over to you. Great salad, coffee, and pastry. Two malls, JBCC and City Square are just an elevator ride down to G floor as the hotel is located right above JBCC. The only setback I would say is if you're driving, you would have to drive all the way up to the hotel's parking up at level 7 through the narrow path. If we were to come with a high ceiling van, there would be no parking space that we know of. Good value for money if it's RM220/night with breakfast I would say."

"2nd stay here and it was a more pleasant experience than the first in terms of service. Cookies and pillow menu were great bonus. Careline services were friendly and responsive. Great service all-around from the receptionist to the concierge to the waiter. Hotel was located in a convenient location, abou 5-10mins walk to Komtar JBCC and City Square Mall, though there might not be proper walkways available. So be prepared to walk along heavy traffic and muddy roads. Route to shopping centres from hotel definitely not stroller friendly. There is however stroller rental services at Komtar JBCC for consideration. Swimming pool was big with lounging areas and waddling pool. Nice place to relax. No complimentary late check out (probably coz hotel was fully booked). So, this was reasonable. No complimentary carpark. Parking is chargeable at RM10 per day (multiple re-entries throughout the day is allowed). Parking charges were acceptable but extending complimentary parking to hotel guests would be a good bonus. No complimentary in-room wifi which is a little surprising for a hotel of this standard, in this day and age. "

"Pros: We booked the 1 bedroom deluxe room. It was big and has the necessary amenities and the king bed was super comfortable! Toilet was huge and beautifully designed and clean. Room temperature control was excellent. Parking was a breeze. The staff was all smiles and greetings, you can feel the sincerity in their greetings. The swimming pool was good as the have a small pool for my kids as well. Nice to have a night swim looking over the jb city lights. The gym was ample and welcoming. There is a pay as you wash/dry your laundry room beside the gym where you can play playstation while waiting for your laundry. Breakfast quality was up to standard, for me i like a western breakfast so the spread was excellent and delicious. However, my wife prefers more local cuisines as we have tried other hotels which serves similar dishes but with more local choices. Cons: No 24hr room service YET. Certain tv channels aren't available. This is maybe on of our top 3 JB hotels. Hope the price stays!"

"Stayed for a night in their one bedroom, it was beyond my expectation and far best stay so far in Johor Bahru. Apartment is newly opened. The parking was quite safe and I can assure that - especially for Singaporeans who have second thoughts on parking their motorbikes in Johor Bahru. The security guards were very attentive, seen them doing round checks in the premises. The check in was swift and the rooms are really clean and comfortable. Check in time was at 3pm but we checked in way earlier around 2pm. Was issued a room key however it was not really ready when we were outside our room. Waited for 10 minutes to be in the room but it is fine for me. Location is good for solo travellers too as the hotel was just a walking distance to Komtar JBCC and City Square. There’s 7-11 convenient store just right at the hotel lobby in case you need to get something urgently. Now, the cons about the apartment was the parking you have to pay on your own. (It comes with a price I guess) And the major turn off - their housekeeper was very rude. Knocked the door several times at 10:45AM to tell us to check out when we clearly knew the check out time was 12PM. Leave that alone, the housekeeper repeatedly knocked the door again at 12PM SHARP. How intense was that. I dont remember requesting the front desk to get someone for my wake up call. She was also rude when we asked the other housekeeper to confirm the check out time. She gave us her unpleasant death stare and walked away when the other housekeeper was apologizing on her behalf. Very rude and unprofessional. I hope the management can look into this matter. Other than that, theres nothing much to point out. Will still give the 5 star rating! "
