First of all, this hotel is very luxury at a budget price. Most budget hotels in Thailand have outdated furnishings and wall hangings, but every inch of this hotel is clean, well-maintained, very luxury looking. The staff is outstanding and there is a doorman or other staff about every 20 meters of the hotel. Check-in and check-out was fast, and we even got fast service when we needed an extra room card. I mention this because I read many horror story reviews on here before we booked the place. I only saw crowds in the reception area when a bus came in (which there were many - its one of the biggest hotels in Bangkok). The breakfast was outstanding. You can eat in the cafe, which has outdoor dining, or the upstairs restaurant. Both have the same food, so it depends if want a city view with your breakfast, or some fresh morning air. The Thai restaurant at the top of the hotel wasn't very impressive. The food was bland and overpriced. We live in Northeast Thailand, so maybe we are spoiled. The best part of the hotel was the room. We stayed in a 3-bedroom suite, which was a mini-apartment. It actually looks like the hotel bought a condo building next door and turned the condos into rooms. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean and new, and there was lots of space. We actually only needed 2-bedrooms, but the upgrade price was so cheap we went with 3-bedrooms. The suites have their own lobby, elevators, and secured parking. If you want to go shopping, which was the primary reason we stayed at this hotel (the kids needed clothes for school), there is a 6-floor fashion mall below the hotel. Its the place to get good, low priced clothes (6th floor has a food court). If you want to save even more money, get up at 3am and walk outside. From 3-6am, the streets around the hotel hold the largest clothes wholesale market in SE Asia. Hundreds of sellers line the streets selling every kind of clothes you can think of. We saved 70% on school clothes this year.

This hotel is perfect if you're looking for a classy place to stay while being in the heart of Bangkok. This is not directly on Koh Sak Road but a few minutes walk away if the nightlife is something you're looking to do. We didn't quite understand this before coming to Bangkok and are so glad we didn't stay on the road. It's also a good location if you're looking to do a variety of things, you will see the real Bangkok from this hotel. We were stuck between this and a hotel towards the East in the area is skybars, we are so glad we didn't stay there as it was a totally different world to the true Bangkok. (However we did visit there for one night to go to sky bar which we recommend doing). The staff are friendly and helpful, the room spacious and clean. We were impressed we found this hotel in such location. The pool is also a great perk as well as the buffet breakfast, people who say the breakfast is poor must want something to moan about, there was so much variety and daily some things differed to mix it up. If we go to Bangkok again I won't hesitate and will book here.

This is a great value on Agoda. Was one of best hotels I ever stayed in. Breakfast was outstanding. Is a very easy location for touring old Bangkok. Easy walk to the water taxi which is definitely the way to get from here to Grand Palace, Wat Arun and Wat Po. Very short walk to Khao San. Is 1/2 block from nice Khlong for a morning stroll. A very beautiful temple is right across the Khlong and one short block if you like to listen to the monks chanting in the morning. It's definitely very 4 star, very fancy glass shower, nice clean and tasteful modern design in rooms and bathroom. All around a great value at Agoda price. In States would be a $200+ room.

Modern Bangkok (Sukhumvit, for example) is soulless, noisy and awful these days. The historical Rattanakosin island area of Bangkok still has a little charm and is easily the best part of Bangkok. The Khaosan Road area has always attracted a lot of backpackers, but nowadays it attracts absolutely everyone and is extremely busy. Ibis Styles puts you right in the centre of everything, but allows you to escape from the madness although I recommend rooms on high floors at the back of the hotel unless you want to listen to live music into the small hours. The staff are helpful, rooms are basic but clean and comfortable, there is a swimming pool and the buffet breakfast is very good. The restaurant food is fine, but there are lots of restaurants to choose from in this area. I have stayed in many hotels in Bangkok since 1987 and this is definitely one of the better ones.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much when I was booking to stay right on Khao San road. I was only staying for one night so I wanted to be close to the action of bars, markets and good food. I wouldn't recommend this is you were staying for a week or so, the busyness and haggling could get a bit. However, this was perfect for a short stopover for a couple of nights. Walk down stairs and the street is packed from mid afternoon only getting fuller into the night with food stalls, shopping, massages, and bars. I was surprised with the standard of the interior, this is something I'm fairly particular about. The hotel room was huge with a giant four poster king bed in the middle. Everything was very clean and nice. I had read reviews on this hotel being loud, my room was the very last room in the hallway right on Khao San road. I heard the music start at about 3pm. When I returned for bed at 11 I could hear it quite well but once I popped some ear plugs in, I slept like a baby. I would definitely go back to this hotel. I had such a great experience in bangkok due to booking this hotel in this location.

To be honest I was baffled. Some of the reviews said it was tired, wasn't a four star, poor facilities.... We thought the taxi driver had the wrong hotel as we arrived and the bell-man opened our door. Check in was easy. The pool was great to swim (I mean big enough - obviously pools are for swimming). There were plenty of loungers around for sun bathing. I did the insanity workout in the gym on my iPad and I was the only one in there. The staff were helpful, hotel was spotless and I would genuinely say we will come here again and tell all our friends. Only trade off is there isn't an easy restaurant to walk to. There is a 7-11 across the street but it closes about 4pm! But it wasn't a problem for us and the restaurant wasn't too badly priced. The wifi is strong in the room. You get an hour free and can pay for more. We debated the virtues of this as a couple. My fiancée is an avid googler and had a small period of adjustment....but if you're savvy, disciplined and log in and out every time you finish the specific task, download emails and read off line etc, then we found we could get by. One final comment is about the taxi to the airport. They charge you a fixed price of 500bht. This was mentioned in several reviews as somekind of conspiracy! Well it costs the driver 100bht each way in tolls and takes 45 mins to an hour depending on traffic. We had to sort our visa a few days before so made the same trip having hailed a metered taxi and then had to barter a price as meters are for trips within central Bangkok and they wanted to charge 600 bht. We got it for 500 in the end but then booked with the hotel for our 6am departure to save the hassle - taxi was there waiting for us and the bell-man carried our bags!! Nanda is the nicest hotel we could have found in Bangkok. For a very nice price you get to stay in a calm area but walking distance from khao san and all the buzz... we walked several times, tuk tuk is about 50 baht which is close to nothing. As an architect, I was overwhelmed by the design and beauty of the hotel. Interesting design books in the lobby... A week before staying here we stayed in a 5 star hotel in Sukumvit, which was double the price, in a huge skyscraper, but we enjoyed staying in Nanda wayyyy more. Staff is amazing, helpful, pretty good english ( which is not common in Bangkok). We are coming back to Bangkok this year and we will stay in Nanda again.

We moved from a much nicer hotel because we were so far away from the places we wanted to visit. As the taxi approached the hotel the area degenerated and it began to look like skid row. The side walks were covered with trash, there were people sleeping in doorways and a man in pants and socks was staggering down the street barely staying on his feet. As we entered the hotel through a small space between two of the fleet of buses parked at the curb we encountered several hundred hungry Chinese tourists creating a deafening clatter as they devoured their lunches beneath chandeliers decorated with faded plastics flowers. I turned to my companion and said, "Oh my god what have we done?" The Royal Hotel isn't for royalty so if your looking for sumptuous luxury keep looking. The Royal is more like a beloved old pair of bedroom slippers that have seen better days but are too comfortable to part with. We were deeply disappointed as we did our initial survey of the room and wondered if we should stay. We opted to stay and the next day when we got back to our room housekeeping had done such a nice job we started to warm up to the place. The hotel is so close to so many attractions we walked everywhere during our four day stay. The hotel has a funky ambience that reminds me of The Phoenix in San Francisco. This was my 3rd visit to Bangkok and by far the most enjoyable because of the proximity to the National Museum, National Theatre, National Gallery, Grand Palace, Golden Mount, so many of the temples, and the Cafe Velo Dome coffee house. I was once again reminded not to put too much stock in a first impression. We will definitely stay there on our next visit!

I love to stay in this hotel..I'm sure to stay here again in my next trip to Bangkok.. the hotel is very clean, friendly staff, and the best thing is many foreigners and beautiful girls staying in this hotel especially in swimming pool in the roof top.the area is very accessible for transportation.Thank you to Agoda for making my booking in the hotel perfect with no hassle and no problem.. This was my first time to Bangkok so did quite a lot of home work to decide where to book hotel. Finally after getting suggestion from friend decided to book on Khaosan road. Once that was decided another problem was which one to book. I tried looking some videos on youtube and also tried looking exterior from google map but nothing looks exciting finally through this hotels photos just booked it and I must say I didn't regret it. Interior of this hotel is pretty nice and I liked the way they have make the room. Low bed with differnt style in Bathroom, balcony. Completely surprised. Bangkok I'm so coming again and staying in this hotel again. Cheers!

Thank you Chillax for a wonderful hotel experience! Chillax is in the perfect location - 10 minute walk to all the action near Khao San and a 10 minute walk to the river. The hotel decor is beautiful and feels very luxurious. The room was beautiful, the bed was super comfortable and we had the best sleep we had in Thailand. The bath is a dream and the pool was one of the main reasons we wanted to stay and it was amazing, we had the whole pool to ourselves a couple of times. The staff were all lovely and incredibly helpful. The massages were on offer when we were there so they we really competitive prices and the location was much more conducive to relaxation (than having a massage on the street nearby). We would definitely book again if heading to Bangkok.

Casa Nithra Bangkok Thailand Overview: stayed for 3 nights In January 2018, booked though Agoda and received a good deal considering location and reviews. Location: excellent location about 12 minute walk to Kho San Road yet still far enough away if that's not your thing. Very very busy main road and a few guests complained during our stay asking to be moved rooms. Easy access to all tourist sites. Regular taxis and Tuk Tuks available outside the hotel. Check in: we arrived at quite a. Yay time and had to wait almost 30minutes to check in which you really do t need after a 15 hour flight. We where greeted with warm towels and cold Thai tea while we waited which was a nice touch. Room: we paid for a superior room which was lovely, the key you are given activates the lights and aircon, thus meaning the Aircon had not been on the room was around 30*c when we entered. Just like opening an oven door. Mini bar is quite expensive. Water is provided which is a great touch considering the humidity outside. Milk or creamer is not provided so we had to go and buy milk so we could have a cup of tea in the morning. Room service: ordered this on our second night after a full day of exploring, couldn't face going out. All I can say is amazing!! Ordered and arrived very quick, very reasonably priced for room service. Breakfast: our booking included breakfast, this is served between 6:30-10 in the main restaurant, good variety of food served from bacon and eggs to Thai curries etc. Wide selection of fruit. Only down side is that you don't get served anything, 3 members of staff stood behind bar but you have to do up and get your own coffee milk etc, I know you serve yourself at buffet for food but never stayed in hotel where you get your own coffee!! Coffee was very rarely ready and I feel it's not only me but coffee is the most important thing in the morning. Should I return to Bangkok I would stay at this hotel again.

Let me start with the good, I really did enjoy my stay here. It's in a unique location and the land has a neat history. The hotel itself is very scenic. Staff are friendly and try their best to facilitate your needs. The rooms are very well priced and I'd gladly recommend this hotel to anyone. All my complaints are relatively minor. When I arrived it turned out that my booking was mixed up somehow, instead of one bed for us the request on their end said two beds. No idea why, my PDF booking said one large bed. Then they asked my wife if her name was Jennifer (it's not). Later had my wife asking "Who's Jennifer?" The water was never hot, just warm. When I asked the cleaning lady to give my wife and me 2 minutes, she said okay and just never cleaned the room. The sound on the TV didn't work for 2 days, after the first day a maintenance man was sent to check it but I have no idea what came of that because when we returned that day it still wasn't working. All and all, we loved our stay.

RIkka Inn was the perfect place to stay! If you are interested in being near all the action of Khao San Road- this is it! However, this place was surprisingly very quiet- The hotel was right in the middle of Khao San Road but kind of set back in a way and it seemed as though most rooms were away from the street noises. I stayed there 2 nights at the beginning of my trip and one night at the very end of the trip and was glad i did. Great reception- we were to arrive at 11pm but didnt arrive till 4am due to flight delay- this wasn't a problem- our room was basic, but extremely clean and had a unique feeling (interesting decor)- comfortable beds- Most showers in Thailand were like the ones at Rikka Inn- a shower that is in the bathroom directly over the toilet- so you pretty much get the entire bathroom wet -dont forget to remove the toilet paper! Kind of annoying but we found this standard unless you are at a fancy hotel/resort where there are more western style showers- But good water pressure/hot water- excellent rooftop pool/showers/bathroom- We used on our last day and they held our bags for us for the day (20 baht/day) since we had a late departure out of Bangkok- Just outside of reception is a adorable coffee shop- some of the best i had in Bangkok- and delicious breakfast sandwiches/fruit- 7-11 also right there for any other needs as well- If you are looking to stay on Khao San Road this is absolutely the place!!! 100% recommended

First time in Bangkok and Thailand and this was our first 4 nights of our vacation. We arrived late, there was someone waiting just to greet us even though we were delayed one hour past our expected time of 12 AM. Loved breakfasts here. Rooms were cozy and simple but very clean and well maintained. Staff really shines at this location, they would welcome us at breakfast and then ask us about plans for the day (they have a book of trip ideas if you need help) and will assist you with local details and knowledge to make it a smooth trip. Since it was our first time in Bangkok, the cabs were eager to overcharge us, so the staff would even tell us how much we SHOULD be paying before getting in the cab. Only downside is that this is not close to a BTS station (much of Bangkok is not). It IS however, a 10 minute easy walk to pier 15 of the river express taxi service (cheap and great). Which is great for seeing temples and traveling to all spots by the river.

Our stay at the New Siam Palace View was our second place we booked in Thailand. I'll will write all the details and our experience as best as possible. At arriving at the New Siam Palace View, we check-in at midday for our 3 night stay. The staff was very nice, friendly and very helpful. They ask for our passport to get a copy and 500 baht, a refundable amount. Just a security deposit in case the person breaks something or something is missing from the room. They gave us our passports back, the key to our room, a few vouchers for fruit shakes and two vouchers with the Wi-Fi information. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly. Never had a problem with it. We then went to our room and it was small, comfortable and the A/C took a few minutes to cool the room but after that it was very nice. The view from our balcony was, well, old buildings. No river view and the balcony was very small. We didn't care about that. The bathroom was basic but with everything we needed. It had a closet with a safe, tv, a small desk with mirror and a fridge with cold water bottles. After eating so much Thai food we decided to give a try to their breakfast and it did not disappoint at all. It was very good and their fruit shakes are good also. You can get a good breakfast at the lobby for 100 or 200 baht. For us, the location was excellent because it was very close the Khao San Road but really quiet. It was peaceful at night. You couldn't hear any noise from Khao San Road at all. So if you want a place to get a good night sleep but be near all the action this is the place. There is a shortcut to get to the Khao San Road from the hotel and while you are at it you will walk through local markets, stores and restaurants. The other reason we like this location was because it's close to all the temples, landmarks and touristic spots that are nearby so that's a big plus for us. We stayed here 1 night in November before flying from Bangkok. The room is great, very authentic and characteristic. Comfy bed, good air con and wifi. The staff really helped us, calling 2 hotels in Koh Lanta for us to help track down a missing wallet, which we would have struggled so much doing ourselves. They also organised our taxi back to the airport. There are free towels to use for the pool. The location is the best thing about this hotel; it's right by Khao San Road but very quiet in the hotel, also opposite a 7/11. There was no balcony in the room, and it was impossible to get a pool sun lounger as very busy. Didn't eat breakfast so not sure about that. Other than that very nice hotel!

hotel de moc is in a quiet leafy location,set back from the main street so it's a great place to rest after a hot day's sightseeing. there is also a lovely outdoor pool,deckside chairs and massage centre for relaxing. complimentary tuktuk service to nearby khaosan road although i enjoyed the short walk there past canal houses,gorgeous temple across the road,street sellers and seeing daily bangkok life. the hotel staff were always professional, friendly and helpful with calling for tuktuk,taxis, and finally my shuttle bus back to airport for only! restaurant breakfast and dinner menu was delicious, great fruit smoothies; though of course there are many cheap-eats outside everywhere. around the corner is the best 'old-school' cafe/tea house where you can join locals for sweet iced coffee,a pot of tea or even egg-y breakfasts.

If you are overnighting in Bangkok & don't need to go sightseeing but want peace, relaxation, food & a really nice spacious room with aircon, this hotel rocks! I arrived at Subha international exhausted at 6am after a 12 hr journey from London with no Thai money. A friendly guard in the airport directed me to the free hourly shuttle bus to Don Muang international airport. The journey took about an hour & once at Don Muang, there is a dedicated lift in the terminal taking you to the covered airway crossing the highway straight into the Amari hotel. This hotel is an absolute bargain at the price if purchasing in European money. Huge, peaceful rooms, very nicely furnished (european 4 star) lovely bathrooms & an onsite restaurant serving a mix of cuisines & a good fun sports bar type pub on site also open late. The pool & pool area is lovely & overall this place was just ideal for my needs. About 5pm after a few hours sleep I had relaxing swim, beer in the bar & then took the hotel's free shuttle bus to the local night market - nothing at all you'd want to buy there but fascinating none the less - & the market is next to a mall which is packed with good, inexpensive Thai, Korean, Japanese restaurants. the shuttle bus picks you up at a pre arranged time. Will return.

Nice location, we can state only positive things about the hotel. Moreover, for what you get it was very cheap! The breakfast is very, very nice (Thai and Continental) and you can sit outside to enjoy it!!! The pool was great for us, since we like to swim. We used it after sightseeing in Bangkok, in the evening we were swimming and this was really luxiourous for us. The rooms are nice and clean. Nearby is a nice temple (standing buddha). First when we came to the hotel we were a little bit confused, because the first impression of the surrounding was not so nice. But in the end we attapted very well, we were walking a lot and there are several things you can make by walking distance... chao phraya river, kho san road,.... ect. Enjoy your stay! Bangkok is incredible city!

this was our 2nd hotel in bangkok and it was a great decision to stay at this as the location was spot on. it was a 1 min walk to khaosan so while the location was great, we still got peace and quiet at night. there were plentiful restaurants and bars around and the hotel had a view of the grand palace. there are many travel agents close by to book tours and day trips. will definitely recommend to travelers looking for fun in bangkok without seedy surroundings.

Easy going place with decent access to tourist sites. Taxis and tuk tuks ever present at curb, but also close to boat shuttles and local buses. Multiple food options ( at Siam II or Siam I across the street). Alley connects to Soi Ram Buttri road which has lots of food, bar, tourist market options. And of course they have a pool, which you need whether you know it or not. Only mark against them: emailed them reminding them we would be arriving around 4:30am, and asked about best transport from airport of special directions for taxi driver given the late hour. They never responded and when we arrived it was clear they thought we were not coming. It did not cause a problem for us, but it would have been nice to get some feedback from them about getting to their place in the middle of the night. That said, I would definitely stay there again, and plan on it when we go back to Bangkok later in our trip.

I'd say this place exceeded my expectations, I've stayed in some boutique hotels which, while having great decor and facilities, still feel like a "hotel". But the atmosphere and staff at Bangkok Publishing Residence give you a very cozy and intimate feeling, while the overall decor and amenities feel luxurious but not pretentious. I especially love the rooftop garden where they grow the most delicious salad I've had in years! I'll surely comeback the next time I'm in Bangkok!

Normally I stay somewhere cheaper, but I was looking to step it up a notch and was not disappointed. Methavalai Residence is fantastic value for money. The room was large and bright, and the location was quiet yet central. I can't really say much else. The whole place was new and oppulent without being over the top. By far the most enjoyable hotel room I've experienced in Bangkok. The little extra spent delivered so much more than my usual hotel stays.

I stayed at this hotel last May 13 to May 17, 2018. I arrived late around 1:30 am, check in was smooth but I was placed in the 4th floor even I requested a lower floor cause of my surgery on my knee. I was told that all the rooms were booked and they would move me the following. The following day I met Magali, I guess she was the owner and she moved me to the 2nd level. She was very thoughful and help me how to get around Bangkok. Her customer service was exceptional where she even surprised me with a cake during my birthday which was greatly appreciated. I was very pleased of my stay at Khaosan Art Hotel and I would very much recommend this place. Only cons is bed is a little bid hard, other than that it was a wonderful stay. I also missed their Pizza, I heard they have the best pizza in town.

Was traveling with my significant other and we absolutely loved the hotel! The location is great! It’s right by the democracy monument so giving directions when taking a tuk-tuk or cab was easy, Khao San road and the golden mountain are just a few blocks away, and we quickly learned our was around the area. The staff was incredibly friendly and did a wonderful job of making us feel welcomed. Everything was kept very clean and the housekeepers came by daily to tidy up our room, empty the trash bins, and give us fresh towels. They stocked the room with toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, body wash, q-tips, and more! Our room also had a mini fridge which was very convenient and we used it to keep our many bottles of water cold. We also loved that we could easily control the temperature in our room with a very nice air conditioning system. The only reason it doesn’t get a 5 Star for facilities is because there are a few minor inconveniences, but nothing big enough to ruin our stay! The main inconvenience was the fact that the toilet is extremely close to the sink. I am 5’6 and my boyfriend is 6’0 and we were hitting our knees on the sink every rim we had to go to the bathroom.
