Hotel is very accessible to the MRT and shopping malls. Hotel in general is very clean and the smell of the lobby is so nice. You get to self check in and out if the front desk is busy. Room is very very clean and modern. We stayed for 4 nights and every day they clean our room unlike other hotels. My fiance and I got the room with a nice view. The hallways are has a futuristic feels, it's almost like you're in a spaceship. I have very high standards when it comes to hotels, and this one passed. You get to really relax after a long tiring tour of the city. Overall we loved the hotel and the staff. Will definitely check in again and recommend.

We loved this modern hotel and would highly recommend it, not only for location but comfort, cleanliness, presentation and value for money. The room had a safe which was very handy. The Hotel view was excellent. It is close to Orchard Rd which is the hub and life of the shopping world of Singapore. Hotel staff were always courteous & friendly.I would buy snacks and treats from supermarkets when I visited the shopping mall to bring back to the hotel. The pool was very big, clean with sufficient lounge chairs. Included nearby was a spa. The glass enclosed gym was well equipped and air-conditioned. It overlooked the spa area but was sufficiently private from onlookers. Hotel restaurant prices were reasonable.

I came for an important exam and was staying in this hotel due to the perfect location (3mins walking distance to exam venue), at first I was hesitate to book this hotel because of the picture of the hotel building looks abit old, BUT surprisingly the interior is so NEW, CLEAN and WELL maintained! According to the receptionist from lobby, this hotel had just done renovation and that’s why the interior so clean and new. I stayed at the 10th floor and the room was so cozy and well equipped with everything, even with a modern tech water dispenser! The cleaner is so friendly and she help me tidy every single corner. The price is affordable with such good location (1min walking to lotsa of shopping malls in orchard road) and friendly service. Totally worth it! Will sure come back again when come to Singapore and will sure recommend to my friends!

Stayed here for 6 nights over Christmas. I'd read numerous complaints about the noise and entrance off the street for pedestrians, but it's not as bad as they say. If a quiet room is what you would like, then request it when you make your booking, or e-mail the hotel directly. I did as I'm a light sleeper, and they were more than happy to make sure my needs were met. As for pedestrians entering off the street, yes, you have to walk either through the rear "alley" through what looks more like a service entrance, or through the shopping mall, passing some massage parlors, karaoke and bar outlets, but everyone is quite discreet and friendly. For some, it'll probably take a little getting used to though. Just smile and head straight for the lifts and you'll be just fine. I chose this hotel only because of the excellent rate I got off Agoda, as all the others were going for outrageously hiked prices. My particular room was likely not one of the ones recently renovated, so may be a bit dated, but still very spacious, comfortable, and very quiet. The pool was nice and practical, a nice place to just lay out in the sun and relax. Poolside food and drinks service were good. Gym is a good size although the equipment's getting a bit old and rusty. Nevertheless, one can still get a good workout. Overall a good hotel to stay at because of its location and rate. If restaurant food prices along Orchard Rd. are a concern, then I discovered a food court over at the Singtel building (just a stones throw away) that has a pretty good variety of really cheap food!...but is open at lunch times only.....where else near Orchard Rd. can you get a bowl of noodles for under S$2.50?! I also discovered a nice comfortable place to sit with absolutely free WiFi, where you don't need to sign up for anything....at the newly opened Mandarin Gallery. Not sure if it's going to remain free forever though. I would definitely stay here again only if I geta great deal on the rates.

I landed in Singapore with the first flight and got into the hotel as early as 10 AM and they let me checked in to my room, while other hotels in Singapore usually only allow me to get into my room at 2 PM. This helped me a lot to have a rest in the room a bit and refreshed myself before my meetings. The room is quite big and I can enjoy free mini bar in the room replenished daily with soft drinks, juices and mineral water. All free of charge! Very generous of them! All the staffs are very friendly and helpful. Bell Service and Concierge staffs are very helpful and work very fast on baggage handling and taxi queue. They responded immediately when I had problem logging in to the wifi connection in the room, I was planning couple of weeks before my arrival to have dinner at their Carousel Restaurant and I made reservation for the dinner online on the Carousel website. They always have waiting list for Carousel and all the food was SUPERB, fresh, and has very extensive choices, especially the seafood which I loved very much!! No wonder as Carousel Restaurant is voted as the Best Buffet Restaurant in Singapore by AsiaOne People's Choice Awards for 6 consecutive years !!! Amazing. I stayed there for 3 nights and had a last flight on my check out day. It has the best location right on the city center of Singapore and within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and shopping malls in Orchard Road area. They let me use the Business Center for free after I checked out and enjoy free drinks there for couple of hours while waiting for my night flight. Thank you Royal Plaza on Scotts ! I will definitely come back and stay there again next time.

We stayed for 3 nights here. The location is very nice. Its 5mins walk from Dhoby Ghaut MRT station near Plaza Singapora. It has 7-11 shops available near by so u can get your break fast/snack anytime while on your way out or back to hotel. It has a neat swimming pool on roof top accessible by lift 1 only with an outstanding view of the vicinity. Recommend a panoramic photo from there. Hotel has two entrances, the other one opens towards the main Orchard Road, where you can find a number of malls like Orchard Point, Orchard Central, Ngee Ann city center, 313 Somerset, Apple Store. This road has multiple bus stops. Get yourself a 3-days Singapore Tourist Pass for unlimited trips to MRT & Public busses. Both have a/c so thats a relieve in 35C temp during the day. The hotel has a Tour Desk where as i suggest using Klook app to book at activities ranging from Universal Studio, Sentosa fun pass, Zoo, Night Safari, Gardens by the bay, bird sanctuary etc. This way you will not need to stand in ticket lines. Just book and show the online receipt to the gate keepers who will let you in :) do visit asian museum on Raffles stop, Fullerton road for Merlion. Good quality shopping is available at Bugis Junction (Bugis stop via MRT and exit towards Bugis Junction). Do not goto Little India, its very dirty and a mall there with the name of Al Mustafa Center (although cheap) but has terrible / poor quality products. You will be disappointed. Visit East Coast bay near Marina bays for a quite beach spot. Good for camping. On your way out to Airport, book a taxi via Grab Ap and it will cost you a max of $17 SGD till terminal 4 airport. Upon arrival, get a $15 SGD sim from Klook app It will give you 100GB worth 4G internet And free calls to last you easily 8-10 days even. Pick up point at Cheers store on level 2. Use mini bus to reach your hotel. It will cost you $SGD 9 per person with a travel time of 25-30mins. Booking stand is location at last level. They charge credit card and d

Pros: Food was halal be it at Straits Kitchen or room service. Room was well maintained but look quite old and need to be revamped. Location is the best to access most of the shopping malls. My kids loves the hotel stay and food at Straits Kitchen. Cons: Waited quite long for prayer mat and clothes and then they said do not have enough due to VIPs taken all of it. Should stock up more next time.

Our first time staying here and we love the location. Its quiet and nice with friendly service. Just happen that we have a big balcony that you rarely find in most hotels. The internet service is free and very fast we we will recommend to anyone who like a quiet holiday. The room is clean and big also it just 10 min walk to Orchard road where all the shopping mall and food hall are located. If you don't like walking there is no problem of getting a taxi.

We stayed here for 3nights and it’s astonishingly beautiful. From warm welcome and assistance of Shamus (not sure bout the spelling of his name,cos they don’t have a nameplate on) and detailed welcoming assistance of Sharifa when we had our check in. We also encounter Vivian at the restaurant when we had our everyday breakfast and she’s very accommodating and friendly. The food was better when you go there earlier it has more selections. Transportation was convenient the bus stop is just infront of the hotel and the mrt is just 2 bus stop away. It is also near to orchard shopping malls just 2 bus stop away also. Highly recommend to. Sure we will be back.

We booked our stay at Shangri-la Apartments with some doubts that it will be somewhat outdated and old. From what we read in the reviews it was a clear mixed of messages whether this place is a good place to stay at. We are a family with 4 adults and 3 little kids staying at their 3 BR apartment. When we checked in, it was clear we were happy we decided to book Shangri La apartments. the space and the full kitchen facility was worth it for our kind of family setting. Please be aware that the 3rd bedroom was a single bed. but the second room with 2 single beds can be put together to make a large king! lol was fun for the kids to bunk up together. Location wise it was tranquil enough while being at a really short walk to Orchard Rd. (less than 10 minutes to the Forum shopping mall). Will definitely come back to stay.

The building is old and it doesn't stand out among its neighboring hotels, but the staff was really accommodating and friendly. They may not have the most advance amenities, but their price is makes up for it as its not it won't hurt your budget. It's location is excellent as the tourist center is very near. Subway station is just a few walks away and you can buy your singapore pass as well. Since their along Orchard road, the place is near the shops were you could buy from affordable buys and expensive stores. There are lot's of shopping malls you could easily hop in and they are really beautiful. Food and pasalabong are very accessible. The staff can speak english well though it's a given that they will have their own local accent. They are friendly and will assist you in any way they can. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience and I wan't hesitate to book here again when I come back to Singapore.

Even though the room was not very big, the hotel had everything you need. The place was clean and quiet. The best thing was its location which was next to all the shopping malls and closed to MRT. It was convenient to go to other exiting places in the city. Breakfast area might be a little crowded in the morning but the foods were enough for every one. If you like the small cozy place, this is the right one.

We had a good stay at Hotel fort canning. The hotel self is surrounded by a park, which makes you feel a little bit outside of everything which is good, however it is very centrally located and very close to the MRT station Dhoby Gaut, and the nice shopping mall Plaza Singapura where you can Eat a lot of nice food, although not fancy but more western fast food that they dont have in other southeast Asian countries. The staff was very proffessional and kinda stiff, but stll very friendly, they are doing their job. Although when we checked out we had to remind them that we had to get out deposit money back. Kind of an awkward situation, since the receptionist cleraly wanted to be done checking us out so we had to notify him that we would like t have our 100 sgd back. The room service food was not good, pricy, as it is in Singapore we wold think that the qualtiy of room service in a 5 star hotel would be really good, but no. Overall we had a good stay and might come back to stay there.

The location of hotel is really superb. It's 2-3 minutes walk from the central Orchard Road area where all the shopping malls and restaurants/food stalls are. Staff was friendly and efficient. Hotel is really clean. Nice lobby. Gym and pool are great!!. Train station is a little further walk (maybe 7-8 minutes) - that was the only problem however if you take the Hop on-off bus to tour the city, the pick up location (Orchard Plaza) is only 2 minutes walk. Taxies are plenty and costs $5-$10 to get around the city. It's 25-30 minutes and $18-$25 from the airport. Have fun.

We had a lovely four night stay. The service as always was first class. Breakfast at the line restaurant is a family favourite. Also a nice pool area for the kids, this is not always the case for inner city hotels. This hotel is not near the shopping malls or mrt station. It is maybe a ten minute walk down to Orchard road. The hotel does provide a shuttle to one of the bigger shopping malls, but we only found this out the day we left.

We booked through Agoda just 10 minutes before we walk in. Our booking was already in the system and all is ready to go. The booked room (executive) wasn't available and they instantly upgrade us to the Suite - which we love! Great size and lovely layout - very private. My husband can work in the bed room while my 2 year old run around in the living room. Great breakfast selection and lovely friendly staff! Fantastic location with all the shopping malls within walking distances. We will be back again for sure!

We were couple traveling for business & leisure trip to Sing and Regent was our last hotel before we went back home. So we were looking for a place to rest, just close enough to orchard road to do final shopping but not so close to the bustling of the shopping malls and Regent fit the bill perfectly. We were also looking for a place which is sedate & provide good service not too mention in a walking distance to the botany garden. Regent didn't fail us a bit. I stayed at the deluxe room which was spacious (33 - 36 m2) with floor to ceiling window facing the botanic garden area. It has plenty of natural light which is nice and the amenities are solid 5 stars hotel. The only need disappointing about the room are the TV channels which consist mostly of sports, news & variety of local channels from various country. Ok if you stay for short term and wont spend much time in the hotel but matters when you are staying for a bit longer time. Complimentary internet connection is available for 2 device which I find a bit restrictive for 2013 :) It should be available free of charge, period. Breakfast was as expected from a hotel in Regent class - variative, excellent quality & fresh ingredients. The coffee was good which I appreciate after a series of bad hotel-served a cup of joe. Service is efficient, could be more friendly but seems to be the same everywhere in singapore. Though one person, Ms Yanti from front desk exceed above the rest. Reading the other reviews about regent I can understand that some find it outdated in style but I was looking for understated timeless luxury and that what regent is. It is not the place for those looking for a swanky millennial hotel with silvery aluminium interior. In Regent you'll find warm old world luxury. The service I experienced was true to its heritage though a dash of sincerity & personality and less formality will do nicely.

Professional service and friendly staff. The best stay I've been to so far. Staff guided us through and to our room. They had an outdoor pantry for guests that provides us with free flow of drink machine (latte, mocha etc), a water dispenser machine as well as a vending machine for other can drinks (which is far cheaper than outside). The inn provides cookies/biscuits to each room as well. The service staff are all efficient and you don't have to wait long for them to attend to you. The skyroom is just like what you saw on their website. The room itself is very spacious and the bathtub located at the balcony overlooking the sky. The room is equipped with a smart tv (the only thing off is that the tv remote is not functional, able to watch videos and movies by the keyboard and mouse though), a unique bath robe, good toiletries with a bath exfoliating scrub inclusive. The bathroom includes rain shower that alongside would able you to walk to the outdoor balcony. Overall facade, splendid. Swimming pool is more like for one to get a dip, not like any other swimming pool but still clean and nice. Location is not so isolated; a walking distance to shopping malls and the inn is near to a stretch of eateries, convenience store and a grocery store. Extremely satisfied, would totally recommend it to family and friends, a very serene and ideal place to stay even for a staycation. Definitely will make a return stay there soon. Thumbs up!

3 adults and a child of 11 years of age stayed at 8 on Claymore for 2 weeks. From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly, helpful, polite and efficient. They were not in your face but any request for assistance or travel directions to the various attractions was dealt with in a pleasant manner. The apartment was serviced well and was always clean. The apartment was not serviced at the week end but knowing this in advance meant that we could plan accordingly. 8 on Claymore is ideally placed, only 5 minute walk to Orchard Road and the MRT / buses. For the shopaholics Orchard Road was a shoppers paradise. Only problem was that the shopping malls were so large and interconnected that it was easy to lose your orientation (not the fault of 8 on Claymore). Most of our party enjoyed the eastern food supplied at breakfast but my grandson and wife could not always eat it. This was not a problem as there was cereal, fruit, cold meats, cheese and cookies. We would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation to anyone visiting Singapore.

We were attending a church conference and most participants were staying here because of transport provided to the conference. If you book the better rooms, they are like 3 star hotel. However the cheaper rooms are like dormitories and are very basic. Our room although small was quite comfortable. It served the purpose of our stay. The hotel restaurant serves nice food. To reach the shopping malls and food courts, one has to take a bus or a cab

This hotel is recommended for you if you find a budget hotel. The staff is helpful. The location is very nice, easy to access from popular area as Orchard road, just walk thru the shopping mall named 'Park Mall', the hotel is there! The room is not big but not too small. The breakfast is nice as the stadard of American one. The facilities is okay, including swimming pool in the building. In general is good, valuable for a wonderful days in Singapore with YWCA Fort Canning Lodge Hotel!

I stayed for 2 nights,but it was very convenient for me to go everywhere,to the shopping mall,to mount Elizabeth hospital,to Camden hospital.I could go everywhere without arriving lately. I just have to walk 5 to 10 minutes,pass through the new Ion Shopping mall to Takashimaya or paragon or mount E,saved alot of transportation money,and just walked through those buildings.The Forum,The tangs and many other shopping mall are located nearby, The MRT station just located a few blocks too. So very convenient.
