Pro Got free upgrade to superior triple. Free fast WIFI. New hotel. Value for money at nett RM/night for a above 4 star but lower than 5 star hotel. What's the difference with a 5-star hotel?. (i) Well it has a cotton pillow instead of a feather pillow. (ii) There is no bathtub but it does have a great rain shower with strong water pressure. (iii) Thick carpets but not as thick as a 5-star hotel. (iv) Bed and bed linens however are as good as a 5-star hotel bed. (v) Bed linens however can be a bit more softer/smoother. However this might be pushing it as not may 5-start hotels bed linens are very smooth. (vi) Bathroom not as big as that of a 5-star hotel. (vii) Don't like the water closet as it does not have a hand bidet. (ix) Great family swimming pool. (x) Good breakfast spread and delicious. Again not big enough spread for a 5-star hotel. Con (i) There is an intermitten methane-line smell in the hotel corridors. But not so irritating as it does not go into the room. (ii) A major drawback which I think the hotel would need to fix immediately is the noisy air-corn in the room. A real turn-off, especially given that its a relatively new hotel. Overall, not a 5-star hotel but a above-average 4-star hotel. Real value for money for the price.

It was an impromptu holiday so we had to check a hotel that is value for money, location and the facilities.. Unlike other negative comments we read before booking the hotel, we experienced otherwise.. We booked Junior Suit, it was on 25th level. We laaa-love the view it has. The space was too much for us... (well if you want have "catching game" with your partner, you may do so.. =) it was pretty near KSL, so if you are bored looking at the view, you can go out and chill at KSL.. Things to take note of, when checking in, you have to give 100RM deposit.. yes it is refundable.. We also tried their swimming pool located at level 11.. if you are photo addict, you can stay there the whole time and do burst shot.. the place gives you a "Instant Instagram View"... Oh! I guess its worth getting their breakfast.. We will be back again for sure! Shasha and myself really enjoyed our stay..

Turning left from Hotel building, one can access Galleria and the vast array of Indian food eateries along the narrow and winding to Jalan Wang Ah Fook. Do your research on your travel plans and itineraries. There are many security guards in smart attires deployed at the various spots of the Zenith Leisure Mall, adjoining this hotel. It is located opposite and along same road as Komtar JBCC and /City Square. If you are travelling back to Singapore by KTM commuter train, book a cab to take you to CIQ Building for only MYR5, especially when you have many things to carry.

the location is easy access by car,bus and taxi.this hotel is very near plaza pelangi and ksl.lobby is so so but the room is superb.the room is quite big for 2 people and beautiful design and decorations like sofa and working table.the bathroom is nice and with bathtub.breakfast is excellent and many choices.this hotel is one of the best in johor bahru and this is just 3 stars hotel but look like 4 stars hotel.but the swimming pool is indoor,cold and does not look clear.but gym and sauna is basic but it is good enough.

We decided to go to Johor Bahru because Singapore prices have gotten way out of hand for hotels these days. I wanted only a pool to chill by and a five star resort experience without the Western five star prices and that's what I got. Three nights at US$365 total w/ breakfast for a deluxe pool facing room on the 9th floor. The pool / Straits facing room was worth the little extra. Breakfast also worth the extra. Great to wake up to that view in the morning and orange sunsets from the 9th floor. Staff were extremely pleasant, they could not do enough for us. As ever, you have to watch the bills if you order from the bar or restaurant and be mindful of the "++" thing in that part of the world. If the price is 16 Ringitt plus plus (MYR 16++) you could find a bill for 23 Ringitt with GST, Service fee etc, something which I did. I protested slightly about this to my waiter and they reduced my bill back to the sensible 16 for a beer. But hey, you are in this part of the world for a reason - to enjoy it and sharpen your wits a little. Taxi to downtown, less than MYR 10 (USD$ 3). There was a nearby restaurant (not the 'Cusin' place, but almost next to it just further up to the left - opposite direction to McDondal's) with a lovely lady and her brother-in-law that served good food. Family of three we ate for about 23 MYR or the price of a beer at the hotel. Cashed USD$200 for three day stay and it was way too much. Got foot massage, lived a little, managed to take a taxi back to Singapore at Kotaraya bus terminal for MYR80 and still had SGD$70 left for first day in Singapore with the change. Bargain. All in all, this is a great place. Very few Western tourists so it is a little bit of a secret for now, but I bet the secret will get out and the prices will go up. It was my 3 and half year-old's first time in that part of the world. JB not as intense as say Phnom Penh or Phuket. It opened her eyes.

A lot of people misunderstood the hotel star rating. Hotel star rating just base on what amenity is offered by the hotel. Meaning as long as the hotel offer these amenities it still count as part of their stars. Mutiara is no doubt a 5star hotel, it have all the 5star requirement box ticked, starting with their 24hr front desk and room service. I must say their staffs are very efficient. The check-in is smooth and quick. Later, I call for them to bring us extra towels and bathrobe, which they did promptly. On our second night I ask them if we can loan a wine opener and few minutes later their staff came and even help us open our wine. The room itself is a bit small compared to other 5star hotel in Malaysia but it is clean, well equipped and cozy. The bed is comfortable with a lot of soft pillows. We had a good sleep at night. No noise at all and the temperature control are good. They have a full mini bar although its not complimentary and the price is 5 time more expensive. We got a room on the fourth floor facing the housing area. Not much of a view. The bathroom got a complete set of towels and accessories although bath and shower are not separated. Although Mutiara have a fine selection of restaurant, we only have the time to try Capri, their Italian café and we had a very nice dinner here. As for surrounding area, its next to Holiday Plaza and walking distance to KSL City. Theres also a very nice day spa right across the hotel. Overall mutiara for me is a bit old, but still the best hotel in JB. Two thumps up.

My partner and I had a truly great experience at the hotel. The service staff, from front desk to housekeeping, exhibited exemplary five star service. Having stayed in many hotels in JB I can say with great certainty that doubletree is setting new standards for the hospitality industry in JB. I hope this hotel doesn't suffer the same fate as the other hotels in JB that will eventually lapse and diminish in service and upkeep over time. But for now, I have high hopes for this establishment. The only flaw I can think of is how the housekeeping missed out on replenishing tissues in my bathroom. Other than that I want to highlight that the front door team is impeccable in their dedication the work. They are the warmest group among all the departments, ready to offer help and directions. The public bathrooms on the ground floor were also easily one of the best bathrooms in JB, smelling of essential oils and sparklingly clean.

Stayed for a night in their one bedroom, it was beyond my expectation and far best stay so far in Johor Bahru. Apartment is newly opened. The parking was quite safe and I can assure that - especially for Singaporeans who have second thoughts on parking their motorbikes in Johor Bahru. The security guards were very attentive, seen them doing round checks in the premises. The check in was swift and the rooms are really clean and comfortable. Check in time was at 3pm but we checked in way earlier around 2pm. Was issued a room key however it was not really ready when we were outside our room. Waited for 10 minutes to be in the room but it is fine for me. Location is good for solo travellers too as the hotel was just a walking distance to Komtar JBCC and City Square. There’s 7-11 convenient store just right at the hotel lobby in case you need to get something urgently. Now, the cons about the apartment was the parking you have to pay on your own. (It comes with a price I guess) And the major turn off - their housekeeper was very rude. Knocked the door several times at 10:45AM to tell us to check out when we clearly knew the check out time was 12PM. Leave that alone, the housekeeper repeatedly knocked the door again at 12PM SHARP. How intense was that. I dont remember requesting the front desk to get someone for my wake up call. She was also rude when we asked the other housekeeper to confirm the check out time. She gave us her unpleasant death stare and walked away when the other housekeeper was apologizing on her behalf. Very rude and unprofessional. I hope the management can look into this matter. Other than that, theres nothing much to point out. Will still give the 5 star rating!

I remember when I want to book this hotel and my mom said don't trust the photo because we might get different and worse than the pictures displayed. But little did we know that the hotel is actually pretty good. The room is spacious, very clean, nice view, friendly staff and the room smells so good when we enter. You can park your car outside the hotel with a guard on the watch. Also there is 7-11 store beside the hotel in case you wanna grab anything in the middle of the night. I will definitely come back here when I visit JB.

We found the staff at the Grand Bluewave Hotel to be very accommodating. The check in staff allowed us to check in early (5am) and nothing was a problem. The room we ordered was spacious and clean. However the bed sheets did not quite fit the bed. We are both quite tall people so that did annoy us, the sheet ended at your ankles. We had two televisions in our suite but only one remote control, lucky it worked on both. A nice kitchenette but no plates or glasses etc. We noticed lack of information in our room. No folder explaining what facilities were in the hotel, restaurants, bars, day spa etc The only thing was a room service menu. We would of liked to know about dining and things to do close by and how much the internet in the room would cost us. The pool was beautiful except for the very rough pebble edging. When it would of been built it would of been lovely and smooth and nice to walk on. After years of chlorine eroding the edging the pebbles were very rough and sharp. You could not sit on the edge of the pool without snagging your bathers. Im surprised that nothing has been done about this already and it's got to this state. Another poolside matter is no food or beverages around the pool. We would of loved to of had lunch or even a drink around the pool. I have been to other hotels which provide you with a room service menu and a phone (next to the fresh towels) to order and they will deliver to the pool. This was not an option. The hotel could increase their revenue by providing better service to their customers. Breakfast was ok, as for western food it was not the best. I understand that not many westerners probably visit this hotel and the indian/asian breakfast option was actually better. With Legoland now open and potentially attracting more international tourists, an improvement on the above items would benefit the hotel. One more thing, adding your email address to your website would be appreciated.

Celebrated our anniversary there! My girlfriend loves the surprise unexpectedly planned by Belllo team. I could say, you can't even get this kind of standard at other 3-star rated hotel. I only managed to check-in at night, the staff(forgot to see the name) really has good attitude and provide awesome service. Not all the staffs there has that kind of good attitude thou. We gotten the 4th floor. Our room is good and clean! No issue with the bed. Some noises can be heard when people are shutting doors or whats not. But seriously, is a norm for 3-stars or below hotels. Hope that they can maintain all these in the future. There is security during the night, food eateries everywhere. Loads of cafes and traditional food right opposite towards Trus. Except that they are having construction which blocked the whole row.. so have to actually walked a longer way. For lazy people like us, every essential needs are just few steps away from hotel entrance. Even when you are hungry at night, no worries. You will be able to find food! The best gratitude I could give this hotel is that i will definitely be back again. Just hoping that they won't put up their price too high. Tried these during their opening promotion.

The selling point of this hotel has got to be it's Location, just a few steps away from City Square, Galleria Kotaraya as well as JB Sentral where you will have access to public transport and also the checkpoint to Singapore. The rooms are clean and comfortable, price is not bad, surrounding area has plenty of food available round the clock, I had to check out of the hotel at 5am to catch a early flight from Senai Airport, Hotel surrounding at 5am is rather safe with a coffeeshop opened at 5am and the JB Sentral just nearby where I took the bus to the airport.

We stayed at KSL a couple of years and back and decided to try Crystal Crown due to its close proximity and relatively cheaper rates. At CC, you didn't have to fight with the crowds for check-in and and the lift. I read the reviews made by previous guests about the wifi, but wifi wasn't a problem except for a 2-hour shut out at 11pm. There were lots of routers along the corridor. The bed was good and clean, and had many pillows. The only issue I had with the hotel was the water pressure from the shower. Our rooms were on the 2nd highest floor and we booked their 2nd best available room. Since we paid only $65sgd for the room, we should not have too high an expectation. we will certainly be back.

I read one of the reviews that she booked this hotel to celebrate a birthday and requested for decorations in the room and actually got it. So my boyfriend and i were just thinking of whether we should stay for the night after doing some visitings, and we were looking for affordable yet convenient location to KSL since we would hang out there till late. And i managed to grab the last room here at 1pm on the same day. Made my request in the box during booking - requested for a birthday decoration as it would be a surprise + an anniversary staycation. You know how such special requests usually wont go through to the hotel, or maybe some hotels just dont care / bother. So i tried my luck and left a request whether i get it or not it'll just be a bonus since i already got to book the room at a steal! :) But to my surprise, i actually received an email reply from the hotel to say they have noted my requests and will get it done. I replied back and told them if they cant make it in time for my check in at 4pm, they can do it by 10pm. But by about 3pm, they replied that the decoration has already been done and i could check in anytime. I was really impressed. We walked over from KSL about 7mins walk, and upon check in i was told that the hotel actually gave us a free room upgrade. So instead of 1 queen bed, we actually got an extra single bed in the room. Which was a really nice gesture. Just nice my sis was in JB too so she came along and we had a mini birthday celebration for my bf. I would really like to thank the staffs of Hallmark Regency Hotel especially those who had replied to my emails during the course of my pre-stay and stay (cos i had other carpark questions as well). Thanks for letting us have such a memorable and wonderful stay, and at such an affordable price. I would definitely recommend my friends and come back for my future staycations in JB. :) 5 stars is definitely not enough! heh Cheers!

Stayed one night whilst visiting JB. I am a seasoned traveller, always going for quality but at the same time not breaking the bank to have it. For the money I paid, this was excellent. Clean rooms, excellent rain shower bathroom, friendly and diligent staff. Best of all, really nice coffee at breakfast along with the standard nasi lemak and other western food like sausage and halal hams (only in Malaysia). Would stay here again if the price doesn't change. Would rate it excellent 3 star hotel or a decent 4 stars.

Overall, I was satisfied with my stay in this hotel. Even though I didn't spend most of the time in this hotel because I went for a-day trip to Singapore, the location of this hotel is quite near to CIQ. So I just walk from the hotel to the CIQ building and did not have to worry about where to park my car or the parking rate (but not recommended if you travel with old people or children). At first, I read all the reviews from the other traveler, most of them are saying the negative thing about this hotel. I also worried before I arrived at this hotel. But when I reached the hotel, I was welcomed with open arms by their staff. They are polite and helpful. There goes my superior room, I have to admit that the furniture are quite old, but all of the electrical appliances are functioning well and there is nothing I can complain about. The TV is brand new, a flat screen TV. View from our room is not fascinating at all, so do not expect much. There is a long sofa, so the superior room can accommodate up to 3 persons per room actually if the 3rd person don't mind to sleep on the couch. There is a swimming pool also, but not huge. The car park is adequate for all guests and I think it is safe to leave your car there. Iron and ironing board is provided at the corridor. Breakfast is OK, not bad, not that delicious, but it is OK and enough to fill in your stomach from getting hungry. They have cereals with milk, juices, coffee and tea, nasi lemak, noodles, salads, porridge, bread with butter/jam, sausage, scramble egg, fruits, cakes and desserts, etc. In conclusion, I think this hotel is worth my money (got 25% discount from Agoda) and can just walk to CIQ building. Recommended for those who plans to go to Singapore.

I was greeted with a warm welcome at lobby with porter taking my luggage. Front desk staff were polite and friendly. They upgraded me to a suite due to deluxe room not ready for early check in. They allowed me early check in since I was traveling direct from KLIA. My room was amazing! Full amenities with 5 stars. There was in dining 20% vouchers for f&B and survey forms. There was no snacks at minibar so I requested to put some there. They sent it up COMPLIMENTARY! The porter gave me advice on good food in the hotel and outside the nearby shops. My flight was at 4pm and they allowed me late check out once I showed my tickets. That was also complimentary. They even gave me 10% Starbucks voucher to enjoy next door at Starbucks while waiting for my limo. The duty manager was very helpful but his team of staffs were even more helpful. From the security guards to the housekeeping staffs, to the porter and front desk staffs! Super location -so cheap to take a cab to town. Best hotel ever

Our 2nd visit here. Fairly new and nicely decorated hotel with lift to hotel room, and friendly reception. Good walking distance from city square 5-7mins, including one short stretch of stairs. Room is comfortably sized with large nice bed. Sheets are clean, housekeeping is acceptable, facilities are basic and includes mini fridge, bottled water, clothes hanger, clear towels, basic toiletries and hair dryer (by request). Nice and basic interior deco with shophouse windows and semi-blackout curtains. Bathroom with exhaust was good. Overall great great stay. Only consideration would be sound insulation -was not the best, nearby construction noise could be problem for light sleeper. For perfection, consider better toiletries, more tv channels and hot water for late night supper!

I had booked just a night at the Bliss Boutique Hotel. At first when I saw it was basically several converted shophouses, i wasn't too enthusiastic about the place. However from the moment we parked our car at several lots reserved for hotel guests, I began enjoying the place because the security guards were helpful. Walking into the lobby was another surprise, It was clean, great interior designing, welcome drink nicely tucked nearby a massage chair for guests to try self service. We were given a room on the 3rd floor of the hotel but it started to rain so much the ceiling started leaking. We were immediately given the option to switch rooms with the receptionist herself coming up to help us with our luggage and apologize for the inconvinience. I had made a sandwich from home that i didn't want to eat so i asked if they could refrigerate it for me till the next day and this they did. The hotel staff, Chew Jiz was very pleasant and accomodating to our needs. The rooms were small, enough just to fit a queen bed with a little room to walk around the bed and had a small shower too BUT, it was a genius of a room. They made up forthe lack of space with clever ideas from Ikea to maximize limited space. For example, they had a foldable bathroom door, 2 long hooks on the wall with some hangers for hanging clothes with a make shift table underneath that was made from a simple wood panel, a tiny table designed for coffee and tea. foldable/collapsible bathrooom door and an LCD Wall mounted tv. The sheets were clean n crisp, beds well done, cleverlighting and beautiful light fixtures, Clean and cleverly designed bathroom with adequate towels, Great water pressure from the shower and sensible toiletries. They provide room service and are helpful to explain whats nearby restaurants wise. Besically they have manage to give the customer a taste of regular 4 to 5 star hotel ameneties in a clever and compact way But this place is not for the Claustrophobic.Breakfast was excellent!

JB is the armpit of Malaysia, and the City's unpleasant and run-down hotel scene does reflect this perfectly. Hard to believe therefore, that such a hidden gem still can be found. The Grand Jade is located not far from the CIQ and JB Sentral, towards the sea. From the JB Sentral Bus station, where the airport Express stops, it is about 7-8 minutes walk. I discovered it while sitting on the said Bus a week earlier, and after several nasty experiences in the downtown-area, I luckily decided to give the Grand Jade a try. The rooms, which are obviosuly all different in size and design, are tastefully decorated with quality-hardwood-furniture. the mattress is excellent, not too soft, but as well not hard as concrete. the bathroom is very small (at least in my room), and the sink is inside the actual room, but that did not bother me. they give you design-toiletries (hand-made designer-soap!!!), and they give you a small basket with snacks for free - quality snacks, no rubbish: 2 packs of expensive Marigold Multi-fruit-juice, 100% juice, no sugar added. Cookies with no preservatives added. The big flat-screen TV has Astro with several (though not too many) English and Chinese channels. Sadly, there is no fridge in the room, this is the one big let-down, particularly as there is no convenience store around where you could just drop by and buy a cold drink or whatever. Kettle, coffee/tea, Hairdryer is provided. some rooms obviously do not have a window, but mine had. I would not have accepted a windowless room for that price. the problem with the location is, that there is a lot of street noise right outside, and even though the windows are good and of high standard, they can not block all the street noise. But nevertheless, this was a very positive stay, and if I am unlucky enough that I have to stay in JB again in the future, this small hotel will be my first consideration for sure. these people actually understand the meaning of hospitality - they deserve your business !

In my previous review of the same trip I mentioned some info is missing from agoda when I booked but a phone call tobthe hotel cleared my doubts. For the benefit of others, Hotel CIQ Johor Baharu hotel rooms are like this: Standard - single bed Superior - double bed Deluxe - one single bed one double bed Family room - two double beds Booked one superior and one deluxe room as the family room was fully booked as it was the year end school holidays. Rooms were clean. Newly renovated. Lift/elevator was new and uses touch screen buttons. Confortable pillows and mattress. Toiletries bare minimal and only 200/250ml of water in a sealed cup provided. Bring your own hair dryer and toothpaste/toothbrush but there are at least 3 sundry/convenience stores nearby and on either sides of the hotel like a few steps away selling all yr necessities and bread, snacks etc. A stone's throw from restaurants, Chinese or Muslim food available at nearby restaurant/shops. In room internet erratic. Fast enough but my devices kept getting disconnected. Overall value for money for the size.

Love the interior design, bright and clean looking room. Had a comfortable stay. Location to KSL/City Square was pretty near need roughly 10-15 Minutes (Depending on Jam) Things to take note: - No fridge, No comb. - Cold/Hot drinking water to be taken from the water dispenser near reception area. - Hotel maybe new to pin the location for Grab/Uber, pin it to the nearest bakery called (SEASON BAKERY) *DO CHECK* If you're a fan of bread, you may also check out the croissant by Steven Oaks Bakery. Which is located beside Rizton Hotel at the end of the street. Exit from The Marion Hotel (Facing the street/main road and turn to your right) which is located beside Rizton Hotel at the end of the street. Reviews are based on my experience, you may have a different opinion. :)

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night and booked for a family room. The room was very clean. This family room doesn’t have any windows, so you might need to inform them earlier if you need a room with windows. Staffs are so nice and helpful. There was even a ‘mini grocery store’ at the lobby - which my kids love it! It is one of the best value hotel i have stayed. Thank you 😁

This was a very decent value for money hotel where everything was in perfect working order. We had not opted for breakfast, so can not comment on the food quality. They charge a deposit of RM 50 when you check-in which is returned at the time of checkout. On my request for a room on a higher floor the staff assigned me one in the top floor. So, I was really happy with the checkin process and staff behaviour. We were happy because this was the only budget hotel in several years that had a really good working AC and good wifi speed. The most common issue with budget hotels is the AC and Wifi, but this hotel really had everything working so well. Cleanliness was good, though the lift was a bit old. There is a huge mall just opposite to the hotel (you just need to cross the road) which has several brands and food outlets. Also, there is a 24 hours supermarket just beside the hotel in case you need something to buy at midnight. I was really happy with the location as well.

I spent 30 (thirty) days at this hotel and I felt like home. Very polite and helpfull staff. Taking a taxi is a matter of walking about 100m to a main road and wait for no longer than three minutes and a free taxi will drive by :). About 4-500 m is Danga City Mall with UO store. The KSL bus has a stop next to the mall and costs one MYR to CIQ and JB Sentral. Taxi cost less than 10 MYR. The hotel was refurbished and has new tiles in the rooms and bathrooms which is very clean. After nine days at Grand Bluewave Hotel ***** (ultra noisy air conditioner and neighbour rooms with direct view at me in bed) and 31 days at Berjaya Waterfront **** (changed four times the room due to no hot water or air conditioned) I found Golden Court the best value for money by far. The included breakfast is very handy.

firstly is the location. its near to ciq which you can travel from singapore by foot! very near city square which shops are currently quite new and back to business after few months of renovations going on. next is the food, at night if youre feeling hungry theres warung at jalan wong ah fook downstairs at the back lane...you should try ikan pari bakar and kangkong belacan. yummy! theres nasi ayam penyet served in a very big plate something like a tray and its rm7.50 per set. really worth it. if you want chinese food you can walk further down across the back lane theres chinese warungs. thirdly is abt the hotel. its just besdie 7-eleven! :d i love the shower...you can choose which kind of nozzle you want. i loooooove the mist bcs i have the normal one at home so its like once in a lifetime where you get mist to shower. lol. all in all its good. i recommend those whose on a short trip to bandaraya bcs theres the new galleria at kotaraya just 5minutes walk across where u have to pass by an indian temple. greattt! it has been countless of time i check into this hotel :d

A good hotel at an excellent location. Centrally located. Quiet location except for the occasional locomotive sound. Grab fare roughly: Larkin Sentral RM8. UTC JB RM8.00 JB Sentral RM7.00 KSL Resort RM8.00 For the hotel rate you pay, this hotel is very good. Hot water shower, toothbrush, coffee making facility, LCD TV and dressing/writing table. Best rate will be when you book through Agoda. Beautiful stay.
