Hotels near Golden City Mall

I booked this hotel on the way to return to singapore. Stayed here for 1 day, but was WOW-ed with the efficient and friendly staff during check-in. The room is having modern layout and large bathroom. All the mini bar items are free of charge. It has beer, coca cola, pocari sweat, kit-kat, peanut and snack. The room got study table, and easy access to wi-fi. The toilet and bath are separated. The room is well lit, with great view to next door hip shopping mall. The shopping mall is full of dining establishment from western, local, japanese, vietnamese food. There was also some gadget shops and clothes shops. It has live band during weekend as well. Nearby you can find a department store, bread store, and batik store. Breakfast is great, they have local foods as well as western buffets. There is also gym/fitness center at the next door shopping mall. The airport drop-off is also available, but at a rather high price. But worth it if you are a foreigner in indonesia, if you know what i mean :). If i know this hotel at first day, i would extend it for another 1-2 more nights. It is great, near to the city, and happening places.

So we stayed here for a night after our Mount Bromo and Ijen activities. Entrance - we were welcome by their staff with warm smile :) Reception - the staff very prompt helping us upon our check-in. Cons though - they didn’t tell us which floor our room would be and what time and where the breakfast location would be. Hotel Room - pretty big with great city view. We have all we needed even weighing scale. Sort of my requirement in a hotel room during my staff. Location - it’s pretty close/nearby to a lot of restaurants that just walking distance if you’re like us love to walk. And 15mins walk by Tunjungan Plaza very big mall :) Hotel Restaurants - they’re about 3/4 available within the hotel and very good variety of food to choose with. Great food as well. Staff - very friendly and always ready to assist you. Overall very happy and satisfied with our 1 night stay. Will stay here again once we’re back in Surabaya.

I was having a great stay here. The hotel is cheap for a 4stars hotel, staffs are very kind and friendly, and also the bedroom is large enough and have awesome view. I came to the hotel on 10 am and we didn't have another destination until 2 pm. So we only took a seat at the hotel lobby. Lucky me, on 11 am, the hotel staff opened a room for me! They said it was empty and ready to use, so we can really early checked-in and take some rest. 😍 Just one disappointment, I booked a non-smoking room in agoda. I also write on special request column for 'non smoking room' in agoda app. But they about gave me a smoking room. Thought we should talk personally to the hotel staff, I request again for a non-smoking room, and the staff gave me a non-smoking room. However, we still got a non-smoking room with the smell of cigarettes. I am pregnant and I avoid strange smells for my baby's health. Maybe the hotel staffs could take an extra time to clean the room, especially the cigarettes smell, so another visitors can get the right room. Little notes from me to another visitor to be : if you want to get into this hotel via taxi or online taxi, just ask them to bring you to 'Somerset hotel'. They will confused if you say Verwood hotel, for former hotel's name was Somerset, and the hotel changes its name just on July 2017. Hope it will be helpful 😍

Such a great room even though the view is the swimming pool and the city view is blocked by another building. I love the bed .. a 5 stars bed that 4 Asean people can sleep comfortably on it. The Tunjungan Plaza mall is just next to 4Points..very convenient to shop, to eat, and to pamper yourself. The reception staff..a nice lady..is very helpful. The buffet breakfast has a lot of varieties..from Indonesian food to the Western. Don't miss the Rawon soup with sambal kicap..very tender and nice eating it with the bread. Thank you for allowing to fill up my water bottle with the orange juice. The Bluebird taxi is always available and make it easier for you to go around Surabaya. Everything is great at Four Points Surabaya, and I will be looking for Four Points Jakarta and Bandung in Jan 2017. Very satisfied!

i was stayed in java paragon hotel for twice. this hotel with good location, you just take a walk 5 minutes to reach the new shopping mall "ciputra world surabaya" when i stayed here i using the facility like swimming pool and sauna area.. any fitness area but i didn't used that. this hotel very near to other shopping mall like surabaya town square, grand city mall, pakuwon trade mall, and lenmarc shopping mall also tunjungan plaza in basuki rahmat street. the hotel's staff very friendly. this hotel only provide free wifi in lobby and bar area, but in the hotel room you must using lan to connect the internet.

Found this hotel on the net, looked great value as it is a new hotel looking for custom. Also its on the outer ring of the city near the zoo, museum and bus and air terminals. I normally stay in the city centre, which is good for shops and malls but traffic jams can make trips out of the city very long. This hotel was just as I hoped, new and very well presented, great windows and a wonderful bed. Great value too. Trips to the bus and air terminal were MUCH quicker. There are three small problems, I guess a product of being new: ie NO business centre and thus for me internet access;staff is too friendly, effusive, restraint wd be better; shower water pressure seemed odd. I do recommend this for value, charm and location.

The Hotel Ciputra World Surabaya was above my expectation. Everything in the hotel is above average and in fact even the rest rooms as a "wow" factor. Everyone was very friendly from the honest security guards to the hotel General Manager Ms Christiane Wasfy who was herself very outstanding after meeting her personally during her rounds in the hotel. The hotel is in tip top condition with big room and very luxurious with nice bed to rest. We had a magnificent spread of local and international foods for breakfast. The hotel also have a great view of Surabaya city at the 22nd floor of their rooftop swimming pool and health spa. Ciputra World mall is one of the best malls in Surabaya with very good shop and wonderful restaurants to chose from that made me loose my diet. The only lacking is hospitality during check-in is missing and check-in can be improved and personalised like other five star status hotel because guest appreciate after their long travel to be greeted well with a welcome drink. The choice of choosing Hotel Ciputra World was the correct one for us and is on the top of the list to stay in Surabaya for the future return visit. When you book into a Shangri la property you expect quality and this one in Surabaya lives up to the brand. I stayed for one night only and did not have enough time to experience all the hotel has to offer. It is truly a 5 star hotel with several restaurants, huge pool and large spa with sauna steam and jacuzzi. The Gym was impressive as well. The room is well appointed and comfortable. Staff was friendly and well trained. What impressed me most is the free wireless which is available all around the whole hotel and best of all not need to log on again in different places. It has a free shuttle to the mall nearby but the frequency seems a bit limited given the short distance. All in all a very good option when in Surabaya especially if you need to be west side of the city.

This one of the best value for money hotel I have stayed in Surabaya. The staff is so friendly, I have requested a quiet room and the hotel gave me the 9th floor and I wasn't disappointed, it was not only quiet but had a great view of the city. There was so many eating places just outside the hotel and in the evening there were rows of warungs just behind the hotel. This hotel is in between two huge shopping centre which is 10 - 15 mins of walking distance. The bed and room was clean, the bathroom was clean daily, there was hot shower 24hrs, toothbrush and 2 bottles of water was given daily. There is a kettle with tea and coffee replenish daily. A welcome drink was given when you check-in. I was impressed with the breakfast as compared to other 3 stars hotel, MaxOne serve a very god breakfast, there was fried noodles, fried rice, plain rice, vegetables meat, bread, Jam, butter(you can toast your bread), there is milk and cereal. There is porridge, pudding, fruits, coffee and tea.

Great location. Walking distance to the Mall. Staff very professional. Check in excellent and rooms outstanding. Clean, good size rooms with a nice view of the city. Very modern and up to date. Breakfast is pretty much Asian so westerners may find it lacking. But in Surabaya you rarely see westerners. So I understand why they would not cater for westerners re the cuisine. I managed to find something in the selection so no problems. I could not fault the hotel. The only thing which relates to local Government not the hotel. The hotel is too close to the Mall to take a cab but the road to the Mall has no sidewalk. You have to walk on the road and the cars travel very fast on the road. We did not feel safe walking along the road. Maybe the hotel could run a Shuttle for a small fee to the Mall. That would be better. Not their fault however. For a downtown area the local Government should provide a safe area for people to walk. Would stay at the Aria again. No question! Excellent.

Good, nice and clean hotel. Location is very convenient just across of a shopping mall. Only 10 minutes walk to Pasar Genteng where you can buy local snacks. Good value for money. Very easy to get food, there is a big foodcourt and many restaurants at the mall across the road. The pool and gym are very small, not really somewhere you can do a complete exercise. But it is adequate for some daily light exercise. The door between rooms are not soundproof, thus you can hear what happens next door. make sure to ask a room without one. Breakfast are more than enough, with local and some international food. Room service food are quite delicious and not that expensive. The things that are need improvement are: 1) There is no shower curtain. So expect water everywhere in the bathroom after shower, and 2) The towel are not very clean, have some smell.

I selected Hotel Tunjungan due to location. That is its best feature. After reserving the room I read so many negative reviews I almost cancelled, but I am glad that I did not. In contrast to many others, I found the dining superior to other hotels in which I have stayed in Indonesia. I did not find it necessary to ask for any items I thought missing. Wi-fi is a problem, country-wide. I found problems with connectivity, took my laptop and android phone to the front desk, and the problems were resolved. Inconvenient, yes, but functional. The hotel is old; the elevator operation takes some getting used to, again, I asked and received help from the staff. Any problems I encountered were overcome with minimal inconvenience and all such problems were minimal when compared to the benefits of location.

My wife and I tried this hotel as an option for future travel. We frequently overnight in Surabaya. The rooms and service were great. The junior suite was very comfortable. The pool, although small, was pleasant and refreshing, and the service was excellent. My wife enjoyed excellent service in the gym while I was able to complete some work tasks using the rooms wifi. Complimentary afternoon tea was served and enjoyed in the piano lounge, accompanied by an accomplished piano player and singer. The hotel is quite close to Grand City Mall and the central city district. The only let down was dining in the hotel. If you have to eat at this hotel I would suggest only eating Indonesian cuisine. The western food was sub standard and over priced for what we received, the Chinese food was quite bland and the noodles and dimsum were over cooked. Furthermore the fruit drinks and mocktails were tasteless. I gave up a night at the la Ruccola to be very disappointed by the hotel's kitchen...:( So I would recommend this hotel for the accommodation and service, but would plan to eat somewhere else.

The hotel is new, so as expected it's clean and smells good. It's close to a shopping mall (Around 10 min walk) and not far from the city centre. There was free WiFi, although the signal was weak from my room, but it wasn't too bad. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was a little small, but clean. Overall, the hotel was nice and cosy and great value for money, but don't expect too much from it. After all, it's a 4 star hotel (3 stars for my standards), with an affordable price. I would go there again, but I recently found out that Ibis Hotel, not far from Crown Prince Hotel is better and cheaper.

Yes it's my second stay at this hotel among many visit I've done to this city. And you can notice the difference between new and old player in hotel business. The old player would put most of the effort to hospitality because they already established a steady system of comfort & facilities maintenance. Not all good hotels woud make their staffs calling you by your name, which is a small & simple gestures to let you notice that you were knowned & appreciate to be their guest. The room still clean & neat as ever, with no broken or cracked furnitures. The bed & its pillows are still maintaining their duty to ensure you have a relaxing & recharging experience. And yes, for you smoker they still have smoking floor available. The breakfast are great as always, in fact this is one of points that made me come back staying at this hotel. The downside is of course the same as any other 5 star hotel would do...charging too much for internet or WiFi connection. But that's why you have brought your own modem, right?

One of the best stay I've experienced. Noticed this hotel when I was looking for the tourism spot in Surabaya. It was mentioned one of the historical building is now became a hotel. Checked the info and highly intrigued. I was mesmerized by the history of this hotel and how it is preserved. The structure is still the same as maybe 100 years ago. It is amazing how they preserved all the beautiful details and nuance. The beautiful garden in inside is beautifully maintained and can be enjoyed from the balcony. All the staffs were nice and helpful. I took the Heritage hotel tour and got the opportunity to peek the 2 storey Presidential Suite. Will definitely come back to this hotel when I visit Surabaya in the future so I can enjoy all the facilities and comfort. Staying in this hotel is not just a stay. It is an experience and exploration to the reminiscence of the past and history. Indonesia needs more historical hotel like this

when in a new city, let alone a foreign country it's always good to have a place that you could come back to for assistance if need be and a bit of a respite. midtown was great. staff was very friendly and tri at the front desk helped save my trip. i wanted to travel from surabaya to jakarta by train and when i mentioned that to her on checking in she said that the trains were all booked up because it was a holiday week. uh oh. but, she called up a local travel agent and got me an air ticket to jkt instead. whew! i had originally though of just showing up at the train station on the morning of and getting a ticket. the room itself was in excellent condition, everything in place and it all worked. nothing weird like my jakarta hotel which turned out to have only one plug. it was missing a clothesline but that was missing from my hotel in jakarta too. breakfast was good with a small selection that still managed to hit all the expected points such as cereal, noodles, rice, meat and veggies. do not bother with the a la carte option. the coffee was excellent although i had to go like a beggar with my cup in hand for my first cup. that was probably the lowest point of my stay other than the fact that the front desk was always a zoo. turns out that my stay coincided with some sort of holiday week. location was excellent, as others have pointed out, the biggest mall in surabaya is less than a ten minute walk away and i could see it from my room. wi-fi connectivity was quite good but their network will knock you off if you go inactive. not much else to say other than that i would definitely stay here again. it'll be my choice if and when i try for the bromo area.

The building is new. Clean. The design is not as I expected since the hotel have "Marriott" name on its title. The design is more like for 3 star hotel. Not sophisticated at all. Bad garbage smell in the basement in the parking lot. I asked to borrow an iron, but they said they didnt have enough. And I booked for the next day to make sure I get the iron, after I complained then they got it for me. I understand it is not five star hotel which they always have iron and iron board in room. But at least they should have more for guests to use. And the service is slow. The staff seems working slowly, especially in reception area. And they always have only one receptionist and make the guests keep waiting. Breakfast is bad. Everything's cold. I prefer have my breakfast outside.

The hotel is right above supermarket (might be hard to find parking). Surrounding the hotel there are plenty of restaurant (MCD right beside hotel). Around 20 mins from the train station by car and 10 mins to Galaxy mall. The room is not too big but still ok to move around with luggage. The bathroom design is a bit silly, so the water will splash outside the shower alot. Abit of stain here and there but still understandable. The hotel room floor is made of tiles so the room we got was a bit dusty. Our room location wasn't the best either. We got the room behind the breakfast area so it tend to be noisy in the morning. There wasn't any swimming pool or any facilities, its a pretty straight forward hotel with good price in good location

Great hotel with great choice of Japanese & Chinese Restaurants & a great cafe / bar . I stayed in Hotel for 7 nights & have not found friendlier / helpful staff anywhere in the world. All the staff greeted you with a smile & just couldnt do enough for you. I have stayed in many hotels around the world & would rate this stay as the BEST. It all has to do with service with a smile . I got the 5 star service. I spent everyday at the pool & whilst no one usually there it was spotlessly clean & very relaxing. Special mention must be made to the Manager & staff of the Cafe / Bar. I spent every night at the Bar ( Happy Hour 5-7pm ) & the staff just couldnt do enough for you. One thing I did like is that I got recommendations for restaurants in Surabaya , shopping & massage spas etc. All were great & the food was so good at two recommended restaurants that I returned to eat there a second time. All staff did promote the 2 restaurants in the hotel. If ever in Surabaya again I would not stay any where else & would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to my friends / colleagues. Take a bow Mecure Surabaya you make the service in hotels in my home country look second rate.

I stayed here many times the hotel is modern and has amazing facilities. the staff here are very friendly and always smiling willing to help with anything. the rooms are clean and tidy all fresh linens all in all a great room and comfy bed. the hotels location is great close to many amenities and the mall is close. this hotel is the best in Surabaya ive been there 4 times always will go back there thanks swiss.
