KSL Resort (resort yes, that is what they claim) is the latest Johore Bahru hotel/shopping centre and my family has got to stay for a night. KSL hotel is a good hotel but it does not live up to its 5-star claim. It just doe not have the feel of it. We arrived at the hotel via a cab and proceeded to hte check-in counter. There we took a number and make our way to the Twillight lounge for some refreshment and snacks while waiting for our number to be call. It's a smart move by the hotel and beats the jostling/queuing for attention at most hotels. We even ended up ordering some finger food so it is really a smart move by the hotel. Our number were called but we had to declined the room as we wanted a non-smoking room. We had to wait nearly an hour so it the mean time we walked around the shopping center while our room is being prepared. The room that we got was a triple bedder, which is 1 queen bed and a single bed. The duvet had creases and although presentable it was not up to standard. The room itself is normal but there are chipped veneer on the cabinet and bathroom door plus the hanger behind the door is gone. It simply tells me that the materials/workmanship are not durable and for a new hotel, this is worrying. The toilet bowl itself has a bidet and is a very nice touch. I wish all hotels have that. Although I do wonder how durable is the bidet and can it last that long and how pro-active is the hotel maintenance. The room has free wifi which is great and the hotel pool is ok although the whole complex is not finish yet. The final plans for the hotel, service apartment and shopping center looks impressive and ambitious. Overall, I am satified with the night stay, considering it doesn't cost that much. I am impress with the future plans of the hotel but I'm sceptical as I don't know if the KSL group has the 'willpower' to provide adequate maintenance for such a big project. When the complex is fully operational, I may stay for another night.

Last minute, no-fuss booking at a bargain price, over a long holiday weekend, was made possible with Agoda.com. Other sites offered prices 50% more than what Agoda.com offered. Very attentive and helpful staff during midnight check-in. Clean room and facilities. Hot water shower facility and a bathtub. Basic toiletries with 2 freshly laundered bath towels, 2 hand towels and floor towel mats were provided. Double bed not available for non-smoking room. However two large single beds, each able to accommodate 2 average size adults, was more than adequate & comfortable. This hotel has seen much better days as a premier hotel in Johor Bahru. Late check-out at 2pm. was offered upon request. If you are driving, covered FREE parking is available for hotel guests. At a bargain offer of RM153 per night, I recommend The Puteri Pacific Hotel in Johor Bahru. It may have seen glorious days in the past but its 5 star charm, hospitality and comfort is evident & welcomes the weary traveller.

i strongly recommended grand paragon hotel to whoever like to visit johor bahru be it short stay for shopping trip or long stay for leisure or holiday. i booked a deluxe room through agoda but when i checked in to the hotel, i was susprised that the receptionist have upgraded it to a junior suit without additional charges. the suit is rather spacious with nice view to the city. i will definitly return there for my stay during my next visit to johor bahru in the near future.

Stayed at Amari for one night with my partner and I must say the hotel's location is fantastic and ideal for a short trip across the Causeway. It is just a short walk from the Johor Bahru checkpoint and across the road from two popular shopping malls — City Square and Komtar JBCC. In terms of customer service, we had a pleasant check-in experience and received a free upgrade to a junior suite (we had originally booked an executive club king room). The room was spacious, comfortable and clean, nothing to complain about at all. The "pillow menu" we found at our bedside table was a nice welcome touch as well although we did not utilise it. Breakfast buffet selection was also quite varied and we enjoyed it very much. We did not manage to try the rest of the dining options at Amari given our short stay. While Amari's rates are certainly more expensive than the average hotel in Johor Bahru, I'd say it's worth the splurge especially if you're looking for a nice place for a quick getaway.

Was upgraded to a deluxe superior room on the 22nd Floor because of unavailability of room that was booked at no extra cost with compliments from the hotel. The room was on the top most floor of the hotel, was big and spacious and had a splendid aerial view of Johor Bahru at night with lights sprawled below. Check-in and check out was wonderful. Staff friendly and courteous. Breakfast was superb with a wide selection of choices. Location of hotel strategic and there are a many eateries and 24 hour 'makan' shops around the hotel. There is a fantastic Thai restaurant offering good chinese dishes - halal near the hotel. The newly refurbished Pelangi Mall is just a walking distance away. The only complaint was the TV reception and their channels. The Singapore transmission was misty and not too clear. Not much TV channels to choose from. Should have more channels. Had a wonderful and memorable stay.

I really had great time in Thistle Johor Bahru Hotel! The staff is really helpful and friendly, they recommend me place to visit in Johor Bahru and give me a map of interesting place. They also provide free shuttle bus for hotel costumer, which can take us to City Square, Johor Premium Outlet or LEGOLAND. They also give me towel when I was sunbathing in the swimming pool and tell me to just put the towel in the pool chair after use. They also provide free cold water in the swimming pool in a cold box which available in every pool chair. The room is neat and clean, I also like the design. The bathroom was really good, they also have shower in the toilet seat. The shower and bathtub is separated and there is a big glass as a glass separator between the bathroom and bedroom. The bed is really comfy. When I'm waiting for my taxi, there is lot of luxury car parked in this hotel, like F12 Berlinetta, X6, A8 etc. I think lot of wealthy people went into this hotel. Overall I had a great time here, the price is so reasonable and I would say it was really cheap compared to what we get. I definitely will come back to stay here if I went to Johor Bahru again!

Great location, a short walk to City Square Mall. Gorgeous pool and gym, the only downside being that they are not open 24 hours. The best aspect of DoubleTree is their staff. One of my travelling partners experienced an unexpected slipped disc - which meant immobility due to the severe pain. Needless to say, being in a foreign country with an injured companion was unexpected and I was at a loss for what to do and how to seek treatment. I then called Reception. The DoubleTree staff came up within minutes with a wheelchair, and a few of their staff wheeled my companion to the nearby hospital for medication and an x-ray. As they understood the gravity of the situation, they automatically extended our check out time and, upon request, helped arrange for economical transport back home. DoubleTree is a gorgeous, new hotel with wondrous amenities. However, their staff is what makes the hotel - sincere, caring service which befits the "Hilton" reputation and far exceeded my expectations. Needless to say, the next time I return to Johor Bahru, I will be staying at DoubleTree again.

I felt very comfortable when staying at Amansari Express Hotel for family room. I will recommended for family members and friends to choose this hotel when they coming to Johor Bahru. The location was good, near to the checkpoint of Singapore. The room was big, cleanliness and very nice. I will continue to stay at this hotel again when i coming to the Johor Bahru & Singapore for the next time.

Stayed for a night in their one bedroom, it was beyond my expectation and far best stay so far in Johor Bahru. Apartment is newly opened. The parking was quite safe and I can assure that - especially for Singaporeans who have second thoughts on parking their motorbikes in Johor Bahru. The security guards were very attentive, seen them doing round checks in the premises. The check in was swift and the rooms are really clean and comfortable. Check in time was at 3pm but we checked in way earlier around 2pm. Was issued a room key however it was not really ready when we were outside our room. Waited for 10 minutes to be in the room but it is fine for me. Location is good for solo travellers too as the hotel was just a walking distance to Komtar JBCC and City Square. There’s 7-11 convenient store just right at the hotel lobby in case you need to get something urgently. Now, the cons about the apartment was the parking you have to pay on your own. (It comes with a price I guess) And the major turn off - their housekeeper was very rude. Knocked the door several times at 10:45AM to tell us to check out when we clearly knew the check out time was 12PM. Leave that alone, the housekeeper repeatedly knocked the door again at 12PM SHARP. How intense was that. I dont remember requesting the front desk to get someone for my wake up call. She was also rude when we asked the other housekeeper to confirm the check out time. She gave us her unpleasant death stare and walked away when the other housekeeper was apologizing on her behalf. Very rude and unprofessional. I hope the management can look into this matter. Other than that, theres nothing much to point out. Will still give the 5 star rating!

The hotel is located in the heart of Johor Bahru which makes it very accessible. There also a lot food stalls outside of the hotel and beaide is a 7/11 store so just if in case you need something to eat or need something for your needs you can easily buy it from there. The room is very well maintained and very clean. The outside of the room has that European or Mexican feel because of its design and interiors.

I was staying at Citrus Hotel, Johor Bahru for 4 days and 3 nights during my family vacation. The first impression when i saw the hotel from outside, "OMG, this hotel must be very old, scary, bla bla bla.." But that was totally wrong when i step in to the hotel reception. we were welcomed with a big smile the receptionist also is very friendly. Step in the room, i was amazed with the modern deco & a very clean room.. When i enter to the toilet, i feels like i was at my home's toilet.. Eventhough the hotel does not provided hotel car park, but i am very satisfied with my stay there... when we were hungry, we just have to walk in behind the hotel building & there were lots of food stalls with variety of foods to choose. Shopping?!! just walk beside the hotel building & you can shopped at City Square, Johor Bahru.. Overall, staying in Citrus Hotel, Johor Bahru giving me a different view on budget hotel & i will definitely choose this hotel if we come to JB in future...

The staffs were very helpful and friendly. The rooms and corridor has been newly renovated. The rooms are spacious, bed are comfy, room facilities are well arranged, toiletries are sufficient. This hotel deserves more than a three stars rating. Location is extremely good. The hotel are surrounded by most of the favourite/popular shopping centres and hawkers in Johor Bahru. Such as the tebrau hawker and KSL shopping mall just behind, pelangi just up a little, and a night hawker selling really delicious local food just across the road. All these places are within walking distance. Breakfast spread are considered good and atas (for the price you paying) with Egg station. I greatly recommend this hotel to everyone. Looking forward to my next visit. CONS: Shower heater abit slow in heating up the water. I have to let the water run for 15 minutes before I could step in. TV channels abit bland with local channels. Can be improved by adding some Movie Channels like Fox or HBO or Thrill.

I bumped with this hotel when searching for a budget hotel for my stay in Johor Bahru for my Legoland trip. Never heard about this hotel before (usually stay at New York Hotel) and decided to give it a try. To my surprise that this hotel was very clean and comfortable. The family suite that I booked was very spacious and the beds were very comfortable (there were 6 of us altogether). The breakfast was good too. The only thing that the management should improve is the selection of TV channels. There were no Malaysia TV channels available (there were only Singapore and Indonesia channels available). Overall, if you are looking for a hotel that is cheap but value for money, this is the one.

This hotel is located in the vicinity of Johor Bahru checkpoint. It was known as Lion City Hotel in the past, nowadays it is a boutique hotel consists of approximate 10 to 20 rooms. Hotel room is not spacious but well renovated. It provides basic requirements that travelers need, from toiletries to in room services. Malaysian traditional cuisines are served and different sets of menu are available every day. A car park which is located at the basement of the hotel could house around 15 cars while a out door one supplements the needs during peak season. The hotel accommodates shuttle bus service. Whoever needs transport service might contact them for arrangement.

Fantastic! After a very tiring trip from Singapore to Johor Bahru in midnight, I find a bit difficult to search for the hotel since most people in JB Sentral suggest me to use taxi because it was dangerous in the road to go there. After I got the taxi, the taxi confused because the hotel's name almost the same with JB Sentral Hotel in Jalan Meldrum. I check in at the midnight without any problems, even if I book with agoda I'm already stated that I want the double bed room, but instead, the give me the twin bed. I want to complain but already exhausted. The breakfast is a bit standard, but overall it's good. I'll definitely come back there again, since the location is actually walking distance from JB Sentral / Sultan Iskandar CIQ and JB City Square.

The hotel location is excellent as it is situated adjacent to the Zon International Ferry Terminal. So you just walk through the direction from of the immigration office in the Ferry Terminal Building and it's very easy to find the lobby of the hotel. Since the hotel is in the Duty Free Zone, shopping is also convenient for you as the shopping mall is attached to the hotel with many duty free stores and food stores inside. During our stay, we got a room with splendid view facing the Johor Strait and the bridge connecting Johor Bahru and Singapore. In front of the hotel (still in the same duty free zone complex) you will find a superb seafood restaurant with various food selection and reasonable price. This is my first travelling in which most of my time was spent staying at the hotel instead of walking exploring the city. The only drawback of the hotel is the in room dining service which is very difficult to get after midnight.

if you are planning have a short trip in johor bahru,i will strongly recommend you to stay in this hotel,especially for young couple traveller.the awesome interior design will make you feel bliss when the moment you step into the room.you never know what kind of design for your room,because every room with a unique design...so you might feel excited before you stay. the enviroment is clean and comfortable,no harm to try stay 1 night if you going to johor bahru for fun=)

Grand Jade is a boutique hotel. The room is modern and clean. It's worth to stay here. The location is very near to JB Sentral Station, which is good for anyone who is going to go to Singapore from Johor Bahru. One thing that I really like is that it has bathtub in it. However, the friendliness of the staffs should be improved. The staffs do not really greet customers when they pass the lobby, and they are not very welcome in the beginning. There is no sleepers inside the room, which is should be improved. The breakfast was really cute, but it was also very simple (cereals, breads, and fruits). Overall, I will consider this hotel if I go to Johor Bahru again and recommend it to anyone who is going to stay in Johor Bahru.

good location for both visiting singapore, as you are close to ciq and visiting johor bahru. to find the place from ciq (immigration)go down the escalator toward jalan abdul razak and walk up the hill under the raised road until you see a left turn....this is the hotel road. johur bahru is a paradise city for me as it seems that beer and curry are available everywhere anytime. very friendly staff, extremely clean, free internet, shops and cafe/restaurants very close if you don't want to cross through jb sentral to the main city and english premier league shown in restaurant opposite. excellent bed if you are in the mood for vigerous pumping activities.

The hotel is easy to locate and has lot of outside parking. We had late check in, around 11.30 pm and welcomed by friendly staff at reception counter. The deluxe room is clean and comfortable with twin beds. We added extra bed and the room is big enough for 3 persons. There's few meals for breakfast which quite enough/satisfy us. We'd recommend this hotel for medium budget traveler around Johor Bahru and Stulang.

This is my second stay at this hotel, every time we go to Johor Bahru, we prefer to stay at this hotel. As it's very near to City Square and JB Central, it only took 3-minute by taxi (cost you about RM5). The staff is friendly, and they're quite fast to help you check-in and check-out. The room is very spacious, with large bathroom. Recommended for families with children. For vegetarian travelers, there is one vegetarian restaurant in City Square, the price is reasonable and it's tasty, you can ask the Information centre for the restaurant. From City Square you can take bus to Aeon Tebrau, there are 3 restaurants that serve vegetarian menus.

Really at the center of the city. Surrounded by lots of restaurants, and also a 24hr 7-eleven. Withing a walking distance to a shopping mall, night market so called JB Bazar aka Pasar Karat, train station, taxi station, etc. Just a few minutes away from CIQ ( Singapore ). About 20 minutes to Legoland and Hello Kitty, and 30 minutes to Johore Premium Outlet. The room itself is very spacious. Very confortable for a family trip. A free car park is provided at the lower ground, make it very convinient to and from the hotel room itself. All the basics necessacities are OK such as hot water, aircond, and TV ( unfortunately no remote control ). The satff are all very friendly and helpful. Overall, really worth the money ...

This is my third time in Johor Bahru. I'm not a frills type of guy. I just want a clean place and most important is internet service. There are no windows in the rooms I've had. But it's clean (to me) and it has a private bath and shower. I can stay here for a 4 or 5 days for the price of one night in a small Singapore Chinatown hotel or for the same price as a low end youth hostel. Then again I like eating at the street restaurants with the local people. This is not a place for the people who need to see eye candy all around them.
