Our last night in Chiang Rai was here, it was a great plan as spent days in the mountains and hilltribes, this place recover our energy! Good selection of food, world standards rooms and amenities, a reliable place for recovery from the long journey. The design was comfortable feel when you enters, spent a few hours in the outdoor balcony, this was great to ended the trip here! Enjoy!

The hotel is located along the main road into Chiang Rai, in walking distance to Central Plaza and Big C shopping centers, so very good if that's what you're looking for, especially if you have your own transport so you can also easily get into the town center. There's plenty of parking space available as well. Room are spacious, quiet and well equipped. The breakfast offered good choice and food is tasty. There's a nice swimming pool and a fitness center. Only problem we found was that the door doesn't close on it's own and has an annoying beep when not closed, which is good but also disturbing, as we had it twice that someone forgot to close the door properly when they checked out in the morning and we ended up going out and closing the door for them to stop the noise. Also the light in the room cannot be switched off completely, there's still a dim light on the ceiling above the aircon which cannot be turned off!

Memorable. The moment on arrival, we knew we had made the right choice the smiling staff were there to greet us, & that smiley service remained for whole duration of our stay. In fact we only booked to stay 2 nights of our 10 day road trip & ended up staying 5 nights. The staff, that also includes the owner/managers could not do enough to help us, they provided all the services you would expect from a resort style concierge. We never expect fluent English from the Thai, but their English was good. We all had some laughs learning a few new Thai/English words To us the Le Patta Hotel is more of a boutique style hotel, 40 rooms means it is not over run with droves of guest buzzing around like the middle of Bangkok & does not have a 5 acre swimming pool. but it provides a very tranquil, Quiet & easily accessible place to stay. Le Patta is conveniently located just around the corner (yes walk) from the night bazaar, top restaurants, shops, lots of markets, day & night & many other tourist attractions. The room (being a brand new Hotel), was exceptionally clean, well designed, spacious, cosy king size bed, huge bathroom/shower, bedside controls for all the light & cooling, plenty of room to park your cases, free mini bar & so on. A well deserved 4 star rating at an incredibly good price. (Our room was the Deluxe.). Breakfast was al a carte; Thai, English & American but you could pretty much have any combo on the menu. & yes the breakfast service was excellent. Chiang Rai was a great home base to see all that Northern Thailand has to offer without spending all day on the road getting to and from the places of interest. Our 4th trip to Thailand. We have stayed in dozens of Hotel/Motels & this one was truly fantastic Thankyou La Patta.....Kop Khun Krub

To begin, we are truly baffled as to how anyone could complain about any aspect of this lovely hotel. Our room was less than $40 per night including breakfast, & we would have been equally thrilled about our experience at twice that price. Each room is a separate bungalow, so there's an immediate feeling of privacy. It's almost impossible not to notice the stunning grounds & how carefully they have been densely planted w/ an endless list of tropical flowers/plants/trees like coconut & bird of paradise- it's inspired & gorgeous. The rooms are spacious & very clean, the bed is comfortable, & the separate bathroom is traditionally Thai. That means the shower floor is level with the rest of the bathroom, so any water on the floor travels to a common drain. For those who are confused by this, please keep in mind you chose to travel in a foreign country so you could learn about & appreciate differences in culture. The highlight of this hotel is its attentive service. We were greeted most graciously & the front desk was exceedingly helpful throughout our stay. They took care of our request for a 5 AM pick-up to get driven 2 hours to the border, & because we left too early to return our scooter to the rental shop ourselves, they were kind enough to take the helmets and keys so the scooter shop could pick them up later. At one point during our stay I went to the front steps of the hotel to source a cab/tuk-tuk to a nearby shop, & a gentleman also on the steps asked where I was headed. He then offered me a free ride in his truck. Final caveat: the breakfast buffet is one of the best we have ever experienced. The number of choices was impressive (far better than any 4/5 star hotel we've ever stayed at in Bangkok), & freshness and quality were first rate as well. This makes starting the day so much easier, we highly recommend you take advantage of this valuable addition. We loved Laluna Hotel and look forward to staying here again when we travel to Chiang Rai.

we had a great off-season deal so were very pleased with the value for money. we only stayed 2 nights before going up to stay near the hilltribes for the rest of the week which was a huge highlight compared to the town of chiang rai. next time in cr, i'd look into accomondation near the river and wat's location for an easier walk during the day and just take the tuk-tuk to the night market in the evening. but otherwise, happy with our stay as they added an extra bed for our child (at a cost) that worked well for us. as stated by other reviews, the lobby and breakfast are quite nice and the bathrooms and pool are just a bit dated. we booked our elephant tour outside the hotel for a much cheaper deal. but really, everything worked well so i can recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for a second time, and it still is for me the best in Chiang Rai. It is centrally located, rooms are clean and well maintained. The only downside I experienced was, we arrived early in the day, but we weren't allowed check-in until about 1PM. They kept telling us that because we booked thru Agoda, check-in time is strictly 2PM. Nothing really bad because that's what it says on print. They allowed to keep our luggage so we can go around town. But, it would have been a nice touch if we were allowed to check-in earlier, the hotel wasn't really fully booked because it's off season for travel now. I wonder, if we booked through the B2 app, would we have been allowed to check-in earlier? Perhaps... In summary though, the value for money is really way above board, especially because we got a discounted price. Will definitely stay again here next time I'm in Chiang Rai.

De Hug Hotel and Residence at 053-711-789 is a great little hotel away from the center of the city, but within easy walking to many nice restaurants at a good price. We drove and it is a short drive to the city center - tuk-tuks are available. This is our go-to hotel whenever the city hotels are full. This is a 3-star hotel with 4 star pride. The free buffet breakfast has ample food and a good assortment and is one of the few places that makes sure the food is hot and fresh! There are only Thai TV channels, but the WiFi is good.

the hotel is not the center of town. not a problem for us as we did not want to be in the center of town. we come to the big city to relax and restock. this place is perfect. the hotel is spacious with beautiful gardens and a large bathroom and bedroom. the hotel runs a free shuttle to the night bazaar each night which we love. great internet. being almost right next to the central plaza mall is such a plus. we park at the hotel and walk to the mall. also, big c is almost right across the boulevard. the hotel is going to be renovated so we squeezed in one more stay before they closed. can't wait to see it after renovations. they reopen the beginning of july.

Loved This Place. Set amongst spacious and beautifully maintained gardens , with lily ponds and huge old trees. My suite was large and comfortable with a lovely river view . The Legend feels like it is isolated and remote and yet is only 10 minutes from city center. The staff were super friendly and efficient . As a tourism professional the most impressive aspect was the superb maintenance and attention to detail. If you are looking for a 5 star option in Chang Rai look no further .

First, their staff, from the front desk to the people in the dining room, were exceptional. They would do anything for you. The location, right next to the Clock Tower, and the nearby night life, was wonderful. Easy to walk to Night Bazzar, as it is only about an 8 minute walk. The Sunday Night Market is about a 40 minute walk, but also very nice. Enjoed the nearby Hill Tribe Museum, and the tour offered by the hotel to the White Temple and the Golden Triangle. I will certainly return to this hotel again.

good and clean resort with great swimming pool. the hotel is situated near the night bazaar. hotels breakfast is common ,western and thai food. the room is with common equipment . the hotel include travel desk (not daily , available on phone from the reception) asian way tours tel:this agency provide amazing trips ,for example golden triangle , long neck , trekking and etc. i have to say , the tourist guide attitude was excellent , good english . the guide was very educated and willing. our trip to golden triangle was a a great experience i can recommend this agency .

I wasn't expecting such a great hotel in Chiang Rai as the city is abit of a sleepy place (and the reason I visited to get away from the chaos of Bangkok) but the Rasa is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The whole place is very clean and well designed. The beds are firm and comfy and the rooms are well proportioned and the water is the fridge is free! (important in hot Thailand) The breakfast served was huge (3 courses!) and tasted good. The best thing about the hotel is the quality if the staff. An example was when we were greeted at the car park with an umbrella on return from a rainy day out (you don't get this outside of posh hotels!) Also the staff were friendly and spoke good English.

Stayed at Pimanninn for first time, and was more than satisfied w/ quality of room, especially for having been booked at such budget price. Location is not the best in Chiang Rai, but one may walk to several areas of interest w/in 20 minutes. Staff is very friendly, although severely lacking in English communication skills. Swimming pool is rather large, and Fitness Center is replete w/ high-qualify fitness equipment. If visiting Chiang Rai in future, will definitely consider booking at Pimanninn again.

All Good. spacious room, love the shower room floor pattern. Friendly Staffs. Free basic breakfast (toast, cereal, milk, coffee, tea, ovaltine). Windows is facing to motorbike parking, it is not noisy, but the hundred birds on the trees did, sometimes can hear it clearly. Single traveler might better to join the local tour from outside, it is cheaper. but if you are more than 1 person, can book their private driver. Hotel locates near a hospital, it was not a problem, even have some food stall just outside of the alley. 15 -20 mins walking distance to Night Market & Clock Tower.

a lovely hotel close to the center of chiang rai, but without the noise and hassle!! well situated, newly built, nice large comfortable rooms, bathroom is well equipped. cleaning staff do a great job. the hotel staff are friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome. i have two complaints .... at the weekend the breakfast is a buffet style and the eggs have been cooked in advance and in general the breakfast was cold. during the week, breakfast is served a la carte. the pillows are too well stuffed and you end up with a crick in your neck. i would certainly return to this hotel.

The hotel manager studied abroad and speaks fluent English. She's a very attentive person who would even go buy postcards on request or bring the ordered food from town when the delivery service refused to come under heavy rainfall! The hotel is located a bit outside the city center, perfect for those who search a quiet place. The rooms are quite spacious and clean with a nice balcony.

This was the best hotel we had during our 3 week trip to Thailand. It is a resort style hotel with 3 houses in a tastefully designed small garden with pool. The rooms are spacious, bright, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Breakfast was very good and plenty. The staff well trained, extremely polite and utterly helpful. The pool is clean and had a nice temperature even in february. Everything seemed to be inspired by the spirit of the owner, an elderly lady with a very good command of English and a friendly personality. The hotel is in a calm and quite neighborhood which is a little far from the center, but they run shuttle buses, especially at night time but also during the day. It's in walking distance to the center though. It took us 20 minutes to walk to the Clock tower. They organised a private tour with a nice driver who drove very safely. Taxi to the airport was also organised, though a little expensive. Despite the calm setting it can get a little noisy du to the constructio

We decided to take a short side trip to Chiang Rai before our plans to celebrate Loy Krathong in Chiang Mai and we are so glad that we did! Such a beautiful city full of the friendliest, most accommodating people. Wherever we went, we were greeted with smiles and the people are very genuine and kind and the city is relaxed and has not been taken over by tourists. The location was a little trek away from the main part of town but we had rented a scooter from the lobby and had a great time exploring the city. The hotel is only 3 months old so everything is in working order and clean. Bed is very comfortable and the location is peaceful. The staff at the villa are amazing! My girlfriend left her purse in the lobby with no ID and a lot of money. We didn't realize that it was missing until the end of the day and when we were rushing out to retrace our steps we decided to stop and ask at the front desk and the very kind and friendly manager asked for a description and was so happy to return it to us. We were floored... literally, as my girlfriend had close to $500 in her purse! My apologies for the long review but I just had to share that story as we were so touched. The manager was the best, not just for her honesty but she was extremely personable, spoke great english, and was very helpful! :) We have already decided to come back to Chiang Rai and this is where we will always stay.

Pros:- -the most comfortable bed ever, the mattress is very comfortable not too soft not too hard. the pillow is also very comfortable. -very clean -large room -mini fridge -hot water kettle -kitchenette sink area -bathroom is nice, large bathroom sink, shower is separated from toilet by curtain -hot water pressure is good, they provide soap bar -sofa area with tv -long bench where you could sit and go on laptop for example -clothes wardrobe Cons:- -free wifi is very spotty, if you manage to connect it's fast but the connection disappears and reappears so i just rely on my own sim card to tether -no shower gel or liquid soap provided -car park gets full quick -location wise not too many restaurants around, there's a few if you walk but not much. 7-11 is down the road though. best to have a car or scooter if staying here.

The location is a little far from the city center, but not bad for a scooter ride. If you plan on walking, there is not much room on the side of the road to walk, so you are very close to traffic. Very quiet at night, but the cleaning ladies started their cleaning around 6:30-7 am and were not trying to be quiet, so plan on being up early. The bed was on the firm side, but by this point in our trip, we were used to hard beds. Otherwise the room was very clean, no mosquitos, plenty of hot water for the shower, fresh towels every day, A/C worked great. Always a staff member working. We felt very safe and secure in this location. Would stay again!

Baan Soontree was quiet and great for couples. We had a little private cabin with a king sized bed (even though Agoda only had twins left when we booked, we requested a king and they were able to accommodate!) The staff were fantastic. When a friend from Phuket tried getting in touch with us, they were adamant about making sure we knew and called for us using the hotel cell phone. Another day, they arranged a cheap driving tour for us to the north, half the price of what some of the tours in town cost (that said, our fave tour was a bike tour to the White Temple and waterfall, which we booked in town.) Fitness room was clean and never had anyone in it (couple nice bikes and an elliptical). They provide shampoo, soap, cotton swabs, etc. Only minor downsides were lack of variety in breakfast (though I'd rather eat light and save up for lunch and dinner in town or on the street anyhow!) and that it's about a 15-20 minute walk into town. But the front desk is happy to call you a tuk tuk - they normally cost about 80 baht. Breakfast includes toast/croissants, jam, fresh fruit, cereal/milk, yogurt, fried eggs, mini hot dogs, coffee/juice and a hot dish that rotates every day (i.e. pork fried rice).

This is a nice little hotel with well-designed building and garden. It is super cozy as if you are staying at a friend's place. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. You can have yummy sandwiches and Pa-Tong-Go (Thai unsweetened Churos, in my opinion) for your breakfast with your choice of drink. And that's just enough to get, set, go. ;) It is quite difficult to find the hotel though. If you travel by car, you may need to use mapping apps in your mobile phone (which is what i did) or some sort of GPS navigator. If you come to Chiang Rai by mass transport (plane/bus), you may need to hire a taxi. Or perhaps the best thing is to consult the hotel staffs before you book the room.

This an exceptionally nice place: very clean, large bed w/ down comforter and nice pillows, an electric tea kettle, dishware, a microwave, plug-ins, .... lots of amenities-- by far the nicest place I've stayed in for under $20. The patio is peaceful. I could easily live here for a month. The staff doesn't speak any English, but the check-in process is straight forward: fill out guest card. There are many English signs and contact numbers. The staff seemed very business-like, not particularly welcoming, no hello in English or Thai-- but maybe because I don't speak Thai it's a bit intimidating. And I had just come from a trek, so I was dressed very casually.

we can only say beatiful words for poy and kung, the owners of the place, who made us feel at our home in every sense, and their guesthouse. we ended up staying 4 nights there, as the location was perfect, extremely clean, every single detail was taken into account,breakfast so complete and tasty, all in all, the perfect stay you can think about. the garden was beautiful, the common areas so clean, and lovely decorated (really, so charming!!!), our room was very convenient, with perfectly sealed mosquito nets in windows and aircon, mattress so comfortable, cold pure water provided at will...free bikes were provided by the house, the surroundings are so beautiful for biking. chiang rai night market only 10 minutes away on foot. but the top of the tops were poy and kung's attention, you can see they do the best to make you feel as if you were at home. seriously, this is one of the best places we have ever stayed in...and we travel a lot.

Stayed one night only. Room very clean and in good condition as the hotel is new. Not really enough natural light in my room through the opaque sliding door to small balcony in corner of building...for longer stay would request room change. Staff friendly and helpful. Walking distance to 711, small market, noodle shop. A bit far from bus station - you will need a taxi to get to the city center. Quiet when I was there but, like so many other new hotels in SE Asia, rooms are located along a long, tiled hallway with concrete walls and ceiling that creates an echo chamber. Could be noisy if hotel is full with late night comings on goings. Breakfast OK.
