"At first i was a little bit hesitant to book a room at the MBS, since there were quite a few bad review. But, i went ahead with it, since i thought that i will want to see what was all the fuss about MBS, sooner or later. So i booked the premier ciity view room, for two nights. And it was definetely an experience to remember. Upon check in, the lady said that since we wanted one with two twin beds, she can only gave me two options. Wait until 3pm, to have one in the non-smoking floor but still can't guarantee that the room be available by then. Or we were welcomed to take the ready one, in the smoking floor. I told her that i'd wait, since i traveled with my two yound children, and i didn't want them to be in the smoking floor. Without any further fuss, She typed a few things into her computer, made a few calls, and shortly after, we were sent off to room number 46xx. I was so surprised when we entered the room. Room was bright, huge, and view from the window was breathtaking. Each of the two beds available were large enough to fit two adults. Therre were two benches in front of the beds, which we moved and joined together, to make a comfortable makeshift bed for our nanny. It was the BEST. One drawback was that the room was smelly of cigarettes, although it was located in a non-smoking floor. I can't say anything bad about this hotel. Everything was just perfect. The food, the location, the service...top quality, totally five stars. The pool was lovely, although crowded. Casino was jam-packed with patrons every hour of the day. We didn't have breakfast included in our room price, but the food court downstairs provides enough variety of food, with much cheaper price. We did order in-room dinner during the first night, and it was lovely enough. So yeah, at first we thought it was gonna be our once in a lifetime experience, but now, i'm pretty sure we will come back to MBS. Thumbs up!"

"THis hotel is at very good loccation to use MRT & bus and shopping walk as well. I always choose Peninsula Excelsior or Grand Park every time I visit SG. I prefer Grand Park because their rooms are nicer and don't have an old smell like Peninsula, however their price is also higher. Generally, I satisfied with Grand Park, except some notices for other guests as follows, - There's only one tooth brush in restroom although I booked it for 2 adults & 1 child. - There is a coffe maker in the room but only black coffe, no cream. I had to buy some from 7/11. They're very cheap and a five-stars hotel have no reason to save them. - Biggest problem: althought I registered late check-out right after check-in, my key card was locked to use the lift after 12h. At the first time, I didn't realized that and went up with another guest to 9th floor (I am at 8th fl) then couldn't went down by the lift. Just one floor, I thought I could use staircase to get in the room then call the reception later. However, when I was in the staircase, I found out that their door is one-way door. You can go out from inside but cannot go back in. There's no way and no one to help, I had to walk down 9 floors to the lobby and get un-lock key card later. It's not funny experience, I sure. - Another notice in case you're planning to book this hotel for family from Agoda: it will show the different prices between two adults only option and 2 adults & 1 child. First one is cheaper and in fact the room is the same. "

"i stayed at the same hotel last year through agoda. the room i had booked was somehow not available, i was given an older room which had not be redecorated. however it had the best sea view of singapore, it looked out to marina bay sand, therefore the view compensated the old decoration. generally, it was clean room and had all the amenities except an empty mini bar refrigerator. the tv remote control was not working, until i asked the valet to change the batteries. it was raining two days outside, strangely two spots over the entry lobby were leaking from a/c system. the best thing of the stay this time was the lobby lounge. i had breakfast there, it served just the right amount for continental breakfast, it had the best coffee and delicious cold meat+cheese platter were great. i had breakfast at nine, so the hotel lobby was quieter. the room service was not the best for a 5 star hotel run by swiss trained staff, the food was cold and the garnish was dried and the drink ordered was forgotten. the front staffs were efficient as best. i feel that this hotel has the busiest lobby as it is in a cross roads of internal and external people traffics. therefore it is always forgiven for the shortcomings. overall, it is still one of the hotel i like to stay if i can get the redecorated room. the room service may be usually better as i was staying right on the friday saturday busy evenings. it has the best convenient location, this time the hotel staffs were helpful and did their best to get taxis for me as quickly as possible. "Would i recommend marina mandarin.? Ohhhh YES i would and would gladly stay here again for another round of staycation!!! While checking in, we were greeted with a wonderful surprise--> a free upgrade to meritus club!!! All in all--> Location checked! Amazing breakfast checked! Convenience checked! And AN AMAZING night view!!! This hotel is NOT only conveniently located BUT it comes with a halal breakfast option for muslims. Convenience is key as it is strategically located most tourist attractions and last minute shopping is always welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic with both asian and western flair :) I've patronized 5stars hotel on my vacations abroad and sadly, the ONLY minus point during my stay is the *condescending* attitude of the front-desk staff. As a true blue Singaporean, that attitude does not best reflect us, Singaporean nor does it reflect a five star hotel staff. Dont get me wrong, why a Five star ranking if the service does not truely come from your heart.? Again you would ask if i'll patronize staying at this hotel. My answer would be YES, because i'll disregard 2 or 3 distasteful behaviour of hotel staff to have an amazing staycation again."
