Hotels near Jalan Alor (Food Street)

We stayed in one of the suite rooms on the lower floors. The hotel is just steps away from Pavilion Shopping Centre, which makes it a good base for shopping. It is however a good 10-15 minute walk across bad pavements to the Jalan Alor food street, but still bearable. Despite its 'older' decor and unlike many other hotels in Malaysia which fall apart within 3 years, this hotel is maintained to a good, clean and comfortable condition. Most of the rooms face the Ritz Carlton, so the curtain will have to be drawn quite often. The swimming pool was under shade most of the time when we were there so the water can be chilly. Good hotel overall, will return next time.

Great place, has being to KL few times and stayed in much expensive places, but this exceeded my expectations. Apartment is comfortable with all required utensils. Easy walking distance to all transport hubs, Monorails Raja Chulan is less than 10 mts walk. GO KL free bus service stop is less than 5 minutes’ walk, You can connect to major attractions even without a Taxi. KL Sentral transport hub is easily accessible in Monorail. Jalan Alor - the food street is 10 mts walk. Staff helpful, although you may not see them with smiley faces. List of rules is something you see as a surprise for a hotel, but this did not impact or bothered us. All enjoyed our stay including the kids – with two TV’s, and facilities in the room were well worth the price paid. Convenience store at the hotel entrance is a great bonus. Overall great stay.

This was really a satisfying stay. Reached the hotel at 4pm only to realise that they gave us a king bed room instead of twin room. However the counter staff was friendly and helpful, and managed to quickly assist us to switch to a room of our choice despite the hotel almost being at full capacity! Location wise, really accessible with Imbi station right at the doorsteps,Jalan Alor food street just a short walk away. Nothing better I could ask for (Y)

Reached the hotel at 11am after an early flight in. Standard check in time is 2pm but the manager at the reception was very nice and got the housekeeping to clean up a room that was just vacated and i got to check in 2 hours earlier at 12 noon without any charges. Location was good as it is near to Pavillion, Starhill Gallery, Bukit Bintang Plaza, Sungei Wang Plaza and Jalan Alor (food street). Everything was within a 15min walking distance and we save alot on cab fares. The room is clean and big compared to other boutique hotels i have stayed before which are generally smaller. They got very comfortable pillows as well! The weird thing is the restaurants at the hotel looks totally deserted but they do have a decent bar just by the roadside. Nonetheless, we totally enjoyed my stay there.

great service, opposite pavillion shopping centre, next to all you can eat at starhill buffett, close to massage parlours at jalan alor breakfast buffett is world class and full of options, especially fresh fruit, pastry room!! great shopping a pavillion shopping centre which also has great food options, top floor and ground floor. Yum cha offered at marriot hotel next door is second to none (shanghai restaurant)

The hotel is close to the monorail and all the major shops. Jalan Alor (food street) is just around the corner and comes to life at night with tables out on the street and great food and prices. For expensive but wonderful food in beautiful surroundings go to the lower floor in the Starhill Gallery. When you are coming to the Park Royal insist that the taxi take you to Nagasari Street to the serviced apartments. Taxi drivers nearly always want to take you to the Parkroyal Hotel quite a walk away.

This is our third visit to the Melia, and we loved it. The Club Level is good with attentive staff and good happy hour food and drinks. The location is fantastic, directly opposite Times Square shopping centre, and Monorail stop just outside the hotel. Just 2 blocks behind the hotel is Jalan Alor (food street) packed full of restaurants and atmosphere. Look forward to our next visit here.

As a travel agent. I always have in the back of my mind, would I be happy to recommend the hotel to my clients. in this case it would be a yes. The hotel is in a great location a 10 min stroll to Jalan Alor, a great food street, with hawkers and restaurants, loads of atmosphere with great food very reasonably priced frequented by locals and tourists. The hotel serves a comprehensive breakfast catering to many nationalities not only do you get the western style breakfast but you’ll find curries stir fries noodles so i always sell this as a brunch. So for all the westerners out there be brave embrace the morning curry. The staff at the hotel are fantastic and eager to please the rooms are comfortable. Would I stay at the hotel again? ...... yes I would

Given the low price we paid in comparison to other hotels in KL I was a bit concerned that the room wouldn't meet expectations. I was very relived to find the room matched all the photos and was in fact larger than I expected. Both the room and the hotel in general had more facilities than I was expecting, a free pool and gym on one level for one! The hotel appears to be quite new and the room was spotless. The staff were very relaxed, knowledgeable (I used to live in KL so I'm no newby) friendly and helpful. It's situated a short walk away from the Lot 10, Sungei Wang shopping malls and Jalan Alor food street market. It was very quiet, even though the football World Cup was in full swing and the surrounding bars were pumping. We were travelling with 6 and 9 year old children and found the separate room with double bed (we had an executive suite - kitchenette and two double beds) a blessing. I definitely recommend this hotel.

This is my first time to stay at Sky Hotel Bukit Bintang. The location is near from Pavilion Kuala Lumpur (800m). To reach this hotel, you can take LRT from KL Sentral to Imbi or AirAsia Bukit Bintang. The staff is very friendly when we need something like hotel shoes and charging plug, and then they give us street direction while we ask, and the room is clean. Reccomend to all of you that need Budget Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. I forget something, this hotel is very near to Jalan Alor Food Street, with 5 minute street accross.

Great staff, great location, great facilities!It’s a great place to stay. Really near from Monorail bukit bintang, MRT bukit bintang and interchange Go KL free bus, blue, green and purple line. Next to Fahrenheit and pavilion. About 10 minutes walking to Alor food street. There’s a cute camera museum on the 2nd floor. They provide 2 bottles mineral water every room and free flow at the dispenser on the 2nd floor with cold and hot water, microwave, toaster, electrics pot also. Love this hotel soooo much! :)

Swiss Garden is a beautiful hotel and i'd recommend it to everyone; families, business persons and couples. Its centrally located and is literally 7-8 minutes walk to China town, Sentral Market, Pudu Sentral ( train and bus station), Jalan Alor ( food street) and 10 mins walk from Berjaya times square Mall and several other malls. The room was beautiful and tastefully decorated although it could do better if they have a bit more lighting in the room. Felt like a 5 start hotel, staff very cooperative. I had to check out at 5 am and they arranged to have my breakfast put in a box and gave it to me upon check out. The buffet breakfast was one of the best i've ever had any where, and I have traveled to over 26 countries. Although the coffee was cold every day! the croissants were just incredible. So a beautiful, clean hotel located in the middle of the city. Great place to stay will definitely go there again.

We've stayed for a long weekend, the service from beginning till end are great. Well refurbished residential apartment with hotel's standard amenities. Housekeeping's cleanliness is still inconsistent, however their daily performance is acceptable. Internet Wi-fi is not complimentary, but could always purchase it from the front desk. This apartment do not provide food service however, food is just a walking distance away. Good locations, is located at walking distance to Pavillion, Starhill, Sungei Wang and Jalan Alor.

Hotel is a good place to start your day for shopping. Low Yat Plaza famous for IT stuffs and Sunget Wang Plaza are just opposite the hotel. Further up is the Berjaya Times Square which is just a 5 minutes walk away. Many eateries beside the hotel and Jalan Alor Food Street is just behind the hotel for food options. 7 Eleven and KK Mart for 24 hours convenience just beside the hotel. Great value for money and excellent service by the staff. Would very much recommend to other travelers.

Izumi hotel was the perfect hotel we were looking for. Excellent value for our money. Our family of 3 adults, a 7yo and a 3yo stayed comfortably in a family room. Breakfast was the same everyday but yummy. It has rice, noodles, porridge, chicken curry, sausage, eggs, toast, beans, fruits and sometimes vegetables too. Coffee and juice are also served. We stayed for 8nights and still look forward to breakfast everyday. They have hot and cold water dispenser in each floor which saved us a lot of money. A few steps away from the hotel is the Free Go KL city bus Bukit Bintang stop. 3 bus lines stop there so you can get home easily for free from anywhere around KL. Behind the hotel is the jalan alor food street.

A budget hotel, with truly great location in Bukit Bintang Area! Just 3 minutes walk to Monorail Station & shopping experience to Pavilion Mall, Fahrenheit 88, Sungei Wang, Lot 10. And around 7 minutes walk to Jalan Alor Food Street. Too bad they dont serve breakfast/ room service, but is okay because there 24 hours food stall in front of the hotel. Will surely stay here again if we go back to KL! :)

Royale Bintang is a great choice for moderate-budget tourists wanting to stay in the true heart of KL. Right across the street is the famous Jalan Alor food street. Hotel is walking distance from many shopping centres (Times Square, Sungai Wang, Pavilion, Lot 10, StarHill Gallery), and the KL Monorail is convenient as well. Not so cheap as to attract "budget" tourists, but still good value, in my opinion.

This would be the 2nd time we stayed at Dor Hotel, first time was last year. We wanted an affordable hotel near Jalan Alor and other attractions, but still in a quiet area away from all the party noise. The hotel is right next to Jalan Alor, about 10 min walk to Pavilion, 20 min walk to Chinatown. If you want to check out the nightlife, just walk 5 mins towards Jalan Changkat and the party strip is right there. Also about a 10 min walk from Imbi monorail station where we got off from KL Sentral. Our queen room deluxe was quite small but it was clean, has cold/warm water, and complimentary toiletries and bottled water everyday. The walls are quite thin, so it's easy to overhear people next door, just as we did last year. Luckily, people next door were quiet during our previous stay. Great value for money, will stay again in the future.

1) Location conveniently located within minutes walking distance to many shopping malls Lot 10, Pavillion, F88, KLCC, Jalan Alor food street, etc. 2) Hotel very new, everything in it were new and clean as well. 3) Staffs were friendly & helpful. 4) Value for money. 1) Room small 2) Insufficient racks to hang towels or clothes 3) No ready hair dryer though house keeping did passed one to us after another room guest had used it (i guess there's just one hair dryer to share among guest)
