Last minute, no-fuss booking at a bargain price, over a long holiday weekend, was made possible with Agoda.com. Other sites offered prices 50% more than what Agoda.com offered. Very attentive and helpful staff during midnight check-in. Clean room and facilities. Hot water shower facility and a bathtub. Basic toiletries with 2 freshly laundered bath towels, 2 hand towels and floor towel mats were provided. Double bed not available for non-smoking room. However two large single beds, each able to accommodate 2 average size adults, was more than adequate & comfortable. This hotel has seen much better days as a premier hotel in Johor Bahru. Late check-out at 2pm. was offered upon request. If you are driving, covered FREE parking is available for hotel guests. At a bargain offer of RM153 per night, I recommend The Puteri Pacific Hotel in Johor Bahru. It may have seen glorious days in the past but its 5 star charm, hospitality and comfort is evident & welcomes the weary traveller.

I first tried out this hotel during my business trip down to Johor and I liked it. So I came back to this hotel during my recent visit to Singapore (stayed in Johor). Room was big considering it was just a standard room. Queen size bed was pretty comfortable so no complains on sleep quality. LCD TV was a plus for in-room entertainment. I brought my console game along for some fun time after a tiring day out but sadly, the TV was mounted on the wall and the bracket is blocking the ports. Somehow, I think this was done intentionally so that the only in-room entertainment would be their channels. Bathroom was clean and provides a satisfactory hot shower. Clean and no complains in this area as well. My stay came with complimentary buffet breakfast. There are wide selections of food for the breakfast, although I wouldn't say their breakfast is excellent but it was still good and good enough to kick start the morning. All in all, I would say a good place to stay for its price. Will definitely come back here again!

Stayed at Amari for one night with my partner and I must say the hotel's location is fantastic and ideal for a short trip across the Causeway. It is just a short walk from the Johor Bahru checkpoint and across the road from two popular shopping malls — City Square and Komtar JBCC. In terms of customer service, we had a pleasant check-in experience and received a free upgrade to a junior suite (we had originally booked an executive club king room). The room was spacious, comfortable and clean, nothing to complain about at all. The "pillow menu" we found at our bedside table was a nice welcome touch as well although we did not utilise it. Breakfast buffet selection was also quite varied and we enjoyed it very much. We did not manage to try the rest of the dining options at Amari given our short stay. While Amari's rates are certainly more expensive than the average hotel in Johor Bahru, I'd say it's worth the splurge especially if you're looking for a nice place for a quick getaway.

New York hotel in Johor Bahru is conveniently located close to Singapore border. This makes the hotel a great hotel for business travelers or family going on vacation to Singapore but would prefer to stay in Malaysia. The rooms have recently been refurbished and its more modern and a more spacious feel. Amenities are plenty which includes an indoor swimming pool, massage center, hair salon and sundry shop which also has currency exchange if you need. Rooms are clean and staff are friendly and for those who drive, the hotel offers plenty of parking.

thistle is our regular hotel in johor bahru, malaysia due to the value for money and hygiene level. location of hotel located on its own and if you want to travel out, you will need either your own vehicles or a cab. the bell boy would be more than willingly to get a cab for you at a charge of rm$2 (fixed booking charge of this rate for all cabs in johor bahru) room size (deluxe vs standard) all rooms are spacious as compared to other hotels i had stayed in. deluxe room have a bigger toilet but small living quarter whereas the standard room have a bigger living quarter but a smaller toilet size. hygiene standard rooms are pretty clean just that there are some bed-sheets that had stained in it; most probably they could not remove it. other than that, the hygiene standard is pretty good. deluxe room also come with an extra chair and the bed is way bigger. recommend to just go for the standard room which is cheaper if you are on a budget and someone who is going to spend most of your time in the living quarter and not the toilet and does not need the extra chair. room view the rooms are located too far away from the sea and the city view is facing a miserable highway therefore i’ll strongly recommend you to stick to the cheapest grade of room (standard room; city view) and not upgrade your room just for the sea view as recommended by others unless you do not mind forking out the extra money (pictures of the view are attached) *some sea-view room face the hospital and you will be able to hear the ambulance siren at night. i stayed at a pretty high floor room and yet still able to hear them. request for a room that is not facing the hospital if you are looking for some quality sleep.

Except for our check-in which got delayed everything went well. We arrived at the hotel around 1pm but we only got our room around 3pm so we had the buffet lunch at Makan Kitchen. The staff at the Executive Lounge were very helpful as they followed up on the room availability as well as making sure that we were comfortable while waiting. Location is very convenient as it is just near to the Causeway so without traffic it would have taken us less than an hour to reach the hotel from Eastern Singapore. There was also a church beside the hotel so it was very convenient to attend mass during Easter Sunday.The thing I like best about the hotel restaurants is that Tosca's food quality is the same across hotels. The food was priced reasonably and well done although they could have had more supply of Paulaner beer from the tap.Even the chef came out to check on how the food was. Food at Makan kitchen was ok as expected of a hotel buffet. The hotel was also walking distance to Komtar JBCC with more high end shops and beside it was CitySquare for a more diverse and local selection. It was also less than an hours drive by Executive Cab to Johor Premium Outlets and the concierge staff were very helpful in arranging for a driver. I would definitely recommend Double Tree when going to JB or KL.

I felt very comfortable when staying at Amansari Express Hotel for family room. I will recommended for family members and friends to choose this hotel when they coming to Johor Bahru. The location was good, near to the checkpoint of Singapore. The room was big, cleanliness and very nice. I will continue to stay at this hotel again when i coming to the Johor Bahru & Singapore for the next time.

Stayed for a night in their one bedroom, it was beyond my expectation and far best stay so far in Johor Bahru. Apartment is newly opened. The parking was quite safe and I can assure that - especially for Singaporeans who have second thoughts on parking their motorbikes in Johor Bahru. The security guards were very attentive, seen them doing round checks in the premises. The check in was swift and the rooms are really clean and comfortable. Check in time was at 3pm but we checked in way earlier around 2pm. Was issued a room key however it was not really ready when we were outside our room. Waited for 10 minutes to be in the room but it is fine for me. Location is good for solo travellers too as the hotel was just a walking distance to Komtar JBCC and City Square. There’s 7-11 convenient store just right at the hotel lobby in case you need to get something urgently. Now, the cons about the apartment was the parking you have to pay on your own. (It comes with a price I guess) And the major turn off - their housekeeper was very rude. Knocked the door several times at 10:45AM to tell us to check out when we clearly knew the check out time was 12PM. Leave that alone, the housekeeper repeatedly knocked the door again at 12PM SHARP. How intense was that. I dont remember requesting the front desk to get someone for my wake up call. She was also rude when we asked the other housekeeper to confirm the check out time. She gave us her unpleasant death stare and walked away when the other housekeeper was apologizing on her behalf. Very rude and unprofessional. I hope the management can look into this matter. Other than that, theres nothing much to point out. Will still give the 5 star rating!

The Hotel Staff is very friendly, We drove all the way from KL and arrived around 10am, our schedule check in time is 2pm but the staff(WAN) permit us to get in to the room even if we are too way early. Another highlight is Mr Wan will provide you answers to all of your questions like transportation in JB going to Singapore. The Hotel itself is very Clean . We'll definitely go back to this hotel soon If we're staying in JB again.

Really great hotel to stay. Devi the receptionist very friendly and fast in doing the check in even late night. Hotel rooms are clean. My kids love to stay at the hotel because of the cleanliness and comfortable. Location is near to the Johor - Singapore boarder. Shopping mall and food stall is only walking distance and 24hrs store is just beside the hotel. Great experience staying in the hotel, looking forward to stay at this hotel whenever we come to Johor.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Service rendered with a smile at all times. Hotel is pleasant and cleanliness are kept at all time. Great location and very near to the Johor-Singapore Causeway, City Square Mall for shopping, Money Changers and food are easily available around the hotel. Overall, the room size may be small, the bed is comfortable and glad to have chosen the place as it was clean and well maintained.

The staffs were very helpful and friendly. The rooms and corridor has been newly renovated. The rooms are spacious, bed are comfy, room facilities are well arranged, toiletries are sufficient. This hotel deserves more than a three stars rating. Location is extremely good. The hotel are surrounded by most of the favourite/popular shopping centres and hawkers in Johor Bahru. Such as the tebrau hawker and KSL shopping mall just behind, pelangi just up a little, and a night hawker selling really delicious local food just across the road. All these places are within walking distance. Breakfast spread are considered good and atas (for the price you paying) with Egg station. I greatly recommend this hotel to everyone. Looking forward to my next visit. CONS: Shower heater abit slow in heating up the water. I have to let the water run for 15 minutes before I could step in. TV channels abit bland with local channels. Can be improved by adding some Movie Channels like Fox or HBO or Thrill.

I bumped with this hotel when searching for a budget hotel for my stay in Johor Bahru for my Legoland trip. Never heard about this hotel before (usually stay at New York Hotel) and decided to give it a try. To my surprise that this hotel was very clean and comfortable. The family suite that I booked was very spacious and the beds were very comfortable (there were 6 of us altogether). The breakfast was good too. The only thing that the management should improve is the selection of TV channels. There were no Malaysia TV channels available (there were only Singapore and Indonesia channels available). Overall, if you are looking for a hotel that is cheap but value for money, this is the one.

stayed there during my trip to johor, wasnt hard to find it with gps navigation. close to the johor-singapore causeway. surprisingly clean and smell free. the staff did offer to send someone over to spray "air freshener". a chambermaid came approx 30 mins later ambiance and the full decor of the room is nice. beds and sheets feel clean and comfortable. nice 32(?) inch tv for your viewing pleasure. ok amount of channels. toilet is clean and nice. they provided some basic amenities like soap, conditioning shampoo, body lotion, body foam, toothbrush and etc. small items, typically good enough for 1 person for 2-3 nights stay, if you ration it...

was looking for a hotel for a staycation and weekend getaway and was attracted by the colourful facade of the hotel on the website. decided on the boutique suite of this hotel, and paid for it. wasnt extraordinarily huge but love the funky deco. love the bathtub with flower petals and the lavender aromatherapy for a relaxing stay. the funky colours and chandelier added to the vibrancy of the whole room. the layout of the furniture and placement of the mirrors was such that you can watch the tv even in the bathtub or when you are washing up at the sink. there is also a magazine rack, waterfall shower and massage chair in the room. am satisfied with the suite, but cant say the same for the designer double room. there is no window and is cramped. designer deluxe was pretty good though. security is tight but dont expect a wide spread for breakfast. at a pretty convenient location and conspicuous along the busy road of jalan tebrau. it's also only a 10-minute drive from the johor-singapore causeway. would recommend the suite to couples looking for a staycation :)

Grand Jade is a boutique hotel. The room is modern and clean. It's worth to stay here. The location is very near to JB Sentral Station, which is good for anyone who is going to go to Singapore from Johor Bahru. One thing that I really like is that it has bathtub in it. However, the friendliness of the staffs should be improved. The staffs do not really greet customers when they pass the lobby, and they are not very welcome in the beginning. There is no sleepers inside the room, which is should be improved. The breakfast was really cute, but it was also very simple (cereals, breads, and fruits). Overall, I will consider this hotel if I go to Johor Bahru again and recommend it to anyone who is going to stay in Johor Bahru.

Hotel CIQ is located in the city. Just a walking distance to City Square Mall, Kota Raya Bus Station and Malaysia Immigration. Those who want to travel to Singapore but prefer to stay in Johor Bharu, Hotel CIQ is one of the good budget hotels. The staffs in CIQ are friendly and willing to help. The room condition is clean and comfortable. Air-conditioner and toilet are functioning well. Toilet, bed sheets and towels are clean. The room is appropriately equipped with safety box for travelers,electronic kettle, water jar, and cups for coffee making. Two coffee and tea sachets are provided too for each day. You may boil water and cool it down before keep in the jar. There are shops too just opposite the hotel. Travelers can easily access to the grocery stores for basic necessities such as mineral water, soap, shampoo, snacks and etc. There are chinese restaurants too open from late noon till midnight with affordable price for varieties of fried noodles. There is a restaurant with minor decoration and clean ( a lil bit like Taiwan style), which open in the morning until 3pm, serves very nice curry fish head. Worth to try! The vicinity of the hotel does look a bit dark as the street is brighten only with yellow lights. For single travelers, you might need to practice more cautions but if you go in a group, it is safer.

Want something a little vintage feel and yes this hotel does, a great place for function : wedding, family gathering, business meeting etc. Staff was nice and helpful. Room is so fantastic with its old classy theme style, yet there seem to be something weird with the toilet/shower, the water seems to be on & off, well, its a old hotel anyways. Great place for staycation with nearby mall and food street. Good view especially with causeway link between Singapore and johor. Nevertheless, its a cosy classy vintage place to stay.

The hotel is new and the furniture is clean, the staff is very helpful. If you want to go to Singapore by bus (it's more economical), Grand Court Hotel is one of your best hotel option, since it's very near to JB Central (where all the buses from Johor-Singapore is accessible) The hotel is very near to JB Central but far away from JB Larkin terminal Bus, so if you wanna catch a bus from Johor to KL, you gotta go early.

Really at the center of the city. Surrounded by lots of restaurants, and also a 24hr 7-eleven. Withing a walking distance to a shopping mall, night market so called JB Bazar aka Pasar Karat, train station, taxi station, etc. Just a few minutes away from CIQ ( Singapore ). About 20 minutes to Legoland and Hello Kitty, and 30 minutes to Johore Premium Outlet. The room itself is very spacious. Very confortable for a family trip. A free car park is provided at the lower ground, make it very convinient to and from the hotel room itself. All the basics necessacities are OK such as hot water, aircond, and TV ( unfortunately no remote control ). The satff are all very friendly and helpful. Overall, really worth the money ...

he Zen Zeng Hotel is what it is meaning it's a budget hotel. For 53RM a night (10quid), it is comfortable, quiet and basic. My room had its own bathroom, TV receiving Singapore channels as well as Malaysian. The rooms are cleaned everyday and the staff are friendly. One of the best things is the security cards for the hotel doors, so I felt my stuff was safe. Huge hypermarket 10 mins away, burger stall man around the corner and easy access to the main road. One tip: best not to walk around JB late at night on your own as bag-snatching is 'common'.
