Find hotels in KTM Train Station - Mid Valley

We want a short vacation where: • We want to go shopping (at least for my missus) • Everything is just nearby • No hassle getting around • Nice accommodation • Air-conditioned comfort everywhere • Somewhere we been too many times to care what’s going on outside The answer: Mid-Valley Megamall and the St. Giles The Gardens Hotel and Residences This vacation is during the 1 week March school holidays. We booked a two-bedroom unit for us and another family (my wife’s sister). This time, we took a Malaysian Airlines flight from Singapore to KLIA. We then proceed to take the KLIA Express to KL Sentral. From there we took a KTM Kommuter train down to Mid-Valley station (it is just 1 station away). Total journey was ok even though we do get confused by the lack of proper signage at KL Sentral. There are actually 2 malls in Mid-Valley – the main mall where ‘normal’ stuff is sold and the Gardens Mall: an upmarket mall. When you reach the area where there are branded items and the crowd suddenly thins out…you know you’re in the Gardens mall. Mid – Valley Megamall has 3 hotels connected directly to it (as far as I know as I have stayed in all 3). The Cititel – a budget, training hotel; the Boulevard- a business hotel and The Gardens, their premier hotel. The Gardens hotel is easy enough to find, even though there are two lobby, one for the hotel and another for the Residences. It was walking in familiar surroundings. In fact, I think it’s the 3rd time we’ve been here. Probably 6th or 7th time we’ve stayed in Mid Valley. We arrived around 5pm at the Residence lobby. Checking-in was easy and very quick. There was no fuss. Only thing was there was no porter to bring our luggage. No big issue. No tips then! The room itself was nice. It has a master bedroom with a King bed and en-suite bathroom with a separate bath and wc A second bedroom with 2 super-single bed with an en-suite bathroom and a rainwater shower. we rocked up to cititel early morning, exhausted after some 28 hours of travelling. we were expecting to just drop our bags off and wait for check in time but decided to try our luck for an earlier check in, and im glad we did. the checked into our room just before 7am. staff were very friendly and accommodating. the hotel is very strategically located, connected to the massive mid valley megamall (which is then connected to another more upmarket mall the gardens), as well as a walkway to a ktm train station across the road. the mid valley ktm train station is just 1 stop away from kl sentral, the main transport hub for buses, trains around the city and klia airport, and tour packages for sightseeing around the city.

Pros - Value for money, the price is reasonable, for the price I am pleased with the place - Easy check in, check out - Free parking - Limited breakfast spread, but loved the eggs. - Staffs were attentive. - The gym, sauna and the infinity pool. - Loved the privacy - near to mid valley (5 minutes drive) - I would've rated on the cleanliness but.. those tiny cockroaches.. Cons - At first we were given a more spacious room, great view but the safe lock was not working, the Astro channels were unavailable and a very small roach was found under the sink. - I reported twice, but the channels problem was going to take a long time so they transferred me to a new room. - The new room had not so much of a great view (constructions stuffs were going on) less spacious,and another small roach was found.

I was surprised by this hotel, it was like a boutique version of a Hilton. I found it quite comfortable and at a great price! I doubt you can find better for the price. I love boutique because of the romantic atmosphere and this was quite close. Caution! I made the assumption that this place was at Mid-Valley mall and it is not. It is located at mid-valley area, but not at the mall. You will have to take a taxi to Bangsar area where this place is located (and not all taxi drivers will know where it is because it's a new hotel). I didn't eat much here but I did order a "big burger" for room service and it was really good. The hotel is close to Bangsar which is really good for local food ($16RM by taxi there and back). I would definitely come back!!!!

Location is probably the only concern with no access to public transport but taxi is readily available and cheap in KL. Not quite in Bangsar area as indicated by the Booking Agent but only 10 minutes by car to Mid Valley if you want shopping. There's a modern shopping centre right next door with plenty of food choices and hotel breakfast is very good with reasonable variety to suit most. Room is spacious and clean with basic amenities, while no luxury but excellent value for money – good choice for commercial traveler, particularly if you are not working in the main city area. The best experience is the great hospitality extended by the hotel staff which certainly makes up any down-side of the offering.

I stayed in a twin room in this hotel, and I must be honest it has been a pleasant surprise! First and foremost, the location is one of the advantage. If you want to stay here just for the sake of shopping at Mid Valley Megamall, sorry to disappoint you that you can only take grab to go there. With that said, it is situated literally above Kerinchi LRT Station, which makes travelling by public transport very convenient. The bed is another plus point. For it's price, it's really really comfortable, and the size of the room is really pleasantly big too! It's reasonably clean as well, and there is a gym for you if you would love to workout over there. All and all, I'll definitely come back and stay here again in the future.

The hotel located at Old Klang Road which is near to Mid Valley. The hotel looks new and clean. It is well decorated. Poor WIFI connection. At the ground floor of the hotel, there is a cafe selling foods and drinks 24 hours. The foods and drinks are quite nice. There are no public transport access at the hotel. You may need to walk to Mid Valley KTM station. You need to cross some roads, highways and also some tunnels in order to reach Mid Valley. Recommended for those that have own transports.

The hotel is very nice due to the location that near by KL town. Staffs all very friendly and able to help us for most of the request, few nice restaurant around the hotel, a 24 hours hyper market is just under the hotel basement, food and stuffs are very cheap!! We got a clean and comfortable room. Taxi service is also available once we request from the frontdesk, the hotel staff book for us and they also bargain the cheaper taxi price for us! thanks to the staffs so we wont get the expensive taxi, booking with them got no extra charge! so good of them. So far we are very satisfied for the staying, will come again.

1st day check in, room house keep in not done. Change to 2nd room, when bath no hot water. Starting actualy check in & out as not confirmed continue stay. 3rd room , consider ok, but, wifi can't connected. Change to 4th room continue few days, no water more than a day, when ask from front desk, feedback was , "I also don't know, what can I do? All is syabas problem..." Ask to contact management, at least give some feedback or solution. Didn't think of get refund to make staff hard, but what's the purpose to pay n check in but do nothing instead of sitting wait fr water. Can't bath, can't wash up, can't even flush after toilet. I did know it wasn't a fault from hotel, but at least give me some feed back or a sincerelity to cool me down, as I can't even make up myself to work. I even give suggestion to them to ask management , maybe half my price, or extend half day for me, at least we consumer get something fair back and get to bath and etc without asking check out faster or charged on late check out... Coincidence the time of water worked back was on 11am, but still in some dirty situation and working not smooth, when nearly normal, should nearly 12. I should check out without wash up or done myself but being charge for late? Counter woman even tell me what to do? If arrange some for u, others how? And out rate already very low... I don't think the rate was a reason or a point, u can take higher rate if u deserved it. Same as higher star hotel charge higher , when refund also refund more and attitude was the heading point as I think... Even asking a pail of water just to keep their toilet clean by manual even no water, also didn't make it after we put the pail front of room... Only the first pail after 3-4 call to reception... Shower in bath room can't get a stand as well. Hope improvement to be done and I will continue support and enjoy the effort of improvement from management team of My Home Hotel.
