Find hotels in Kuang Mueng Nan Walking Street

I'm a seasoned traveler, traveling extensively in South/Southeast Asia each year for 2-3 months each time(currently based in Laos, teaching English)....but this was my first visit to Nan. Unfortunately, not one of the hotel staff speak any English. The young ladies at the Reception were most charming and tried to be helpful. They only had maps of Nan in Thai - but were able to indicate to me the location of the Tourist Office. I went to the Tourist Office - but none of the four staffers spoke English either! I don't know if it was because it is the off-season here in SE Asia - or if I just picked a 'bad' arrival day! But it was very difficult to get myself oriented. At the hotel, I also tried to give some clothing items to be laundered...again, a language problem.....and asking for milk (for my coffee) at breakfast. I learned the Khum Muang Min Boutique Hotel is new. Rest assured, the accommodations are most comfortable, clean and attractively furnished -- but the hotel does need to have at least one staffer who speaks a few words of English! Ultimately, I changed my hotel to the Nan Boutique Hotel -- truly one of the most delightful hotels in SE Asia in which I've ever stayed....I will review this when you send me the review page! It made all the difference to my time in Nan. Thank heavens, while finding my way around town, I came across Fhu Travel....and the saint of an owner, who was my 'angel'. She gave me a map of the town....and through her, I planned two day excursions into the countryside and tribal villages - with excellent guide and driver on both days. I highly recommend Mrs. Srisappuris at Fhu Travel to anyone visiting Nan. She offers excellent tours, both of Nan itself and the surrounding area.

When we booked the hotel, we thought it was pricey especially when judging the book by its cover. We were blown away by the genuine customer service provided by Khun Soi and the staff. They humbly impressed us since 1st minute we set feet in the hotel. Their hospitality and service mind were gold and exceptional. Our high praise went o Khun Soi, who incredibly displayed her extra mile mindset. She offered the service and advices that made every money spent here worth. We loved how the hotel preserved its history, charm and the Lanna architecture & feel instead of modernizing it.! We felt homie and comfy during our stay. The hotel was kept spotless, clean and tidy. We highly recommend this hotel. Everything here reflects the down-to-earth Nan and it’s pride. Thank you so much to all staff and Khun Soi for making our trip in Nan so remarkable and turning this passing town to a heaven on earth destination.

NanNakara is far more than we expected, it was at great location (only few steps to Nan landmark - Phumin Temple and Nan Museum, great spacious room with amenities travelers may need, great breakfast with beautiful taste and decoration, most of all, great staff with attentive service (they prepare special dish for Vegetarian every morning). I am sure to stay here again for my future vacation in Nan

Perfect hotel with perfect location. Nice and friendly staffs, they did what im I requested without said no at all. Lovely hotel owner, they are always there at the breakfast to check all guest satisfaction and make sure all your stay is going smooth. The lovely owner also recommended me what to do and where to go, feeling like you are at home Delicious breakfast. And unique hotel design. Me and family had a great time there. You even can park you car there at the hotel and walk around to attractive destination and shopping area. I did book this hotel in my second time to visit in NaN city. Have visited Nan before but this was our first time in Phumin Place Hotel. The location is perfect, looking over the Temples and near Walking Street. We intended to stay for two nights but ended up staying for five because it was so delightful. The rooms are lovely and the decor is sophisticated and calm. Breakfast was very impressive and the Manager made sure there was an adequate vegetarian option. The hospitality shown was exceptional and we will certainly be visiting again and telling friends. Think Nan is the friendliest place in Thailand.

The hotel locates near Nan market and major Nan attractions like Wat Phumin and the National museum. It's about 30 minute walk to those attractions. The best thing about this hotel is its owner who made sure we had the most memorable stay in Nan. He and his guest truly lived up to Northern Thai's hospitality! He helped us booked the car to visit nearby national parks which were gorgeous and worth the time and effort. The driver, Jay, took us to the best sites in those parks and took good care of us for the whole time. Even though the hotel is just a boutique hotel but the breakfast served was quite nice with varieties of Thai and Western foods. However, they made the best pad Thai I ever had for our lunch meal! Room is average size but clean and comfortable.

Unequivocally, Nan Boutique Hotel is one of the, if not THE most delightful, pleasurable hotels in which I have ever stayed in SE Asia. My first visit to Nan; on arrival, I unfortunately found the hotel in which I was booked unsatisfactory. I moved to Nan Boutique Hotel. Delightful, comfortable, lovely hotel. Quiet location, tho' just minutes from the market, "Walking Street" (Saturdays, the main street becomes a pedestrian mall, selling all manner of products; from foodstuffs, to clothing, statuary, bric-a-brac, and more), the National Museum, parks, and many of Nan's exquisite temples. Superior Zen room: very comfortable, had everything: in-room safe, refrigerator, mini-bar (fresh fruit, snacks, juices complimentary), hair dryer, TV, air-conditioning, free wi-fi; bathroom: all facilities/accessories (shampoo, conditioner, body cream, etc.) Breakfast in Taz's Kafe,verandah level: very good a la carte menu selection & freshly brewed coffee (no instant coffee here!). I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at the Nan Boutique Hotel, particularly the young ladies/gentlemen @ Reception. Good knowledge of English and all of them so extraordinarily, genuinely caring of the well-being of guests. Sadly, my arrival in Nan was fraught with unfortunate experiences, but once I changed hotels & moved to the Nan Boutique, everything sorted itself out. My stay there was nothing short of perfection. The care & attention of Reception staff was exceptional: they wouldn't let me go to the Bus Terminal to purchase my reservation for my return to Chiang Mai but insisted on sending a staffer to purchase ticket for me. Truly above & beyond the call of duty! I highly recommend the Nan Boutique 1st choice in Nan. Deepest appreciation/thanks to the staff for extraordinary care & attention.

Dhevaraj Hotel was very pleasant. The rooms were smallish but they were modern looking and nicely done up with good lighting and furniture. Mattresses were very good, not too hard or too soft. Mini-bar available in the room. No tea/coffee making facilities, mini safe or hair dryer in the room. Also only one available power point in the room. Furniture was modern and enough storage space was provided. Air-con was excellent. Flat screen Cable TV was available including BBC World though only a few other English channels. Bathroom was smallish but one didn't feel too cramped, and also fairly modern. Shower with a small bath but a good shower with excellent water pressure Although we were on the top, 5th, floor, there wasn't much of a view, at least on our side as the buildings nearby were of a similar height. Breakfast was buffet style in the big Coffee Shop, good choice on both days but mainly Thai choices. The rest of the hotel is pleasantly decorated, in a modern fashion, with one large atrium going right up to the roof, which has access corridors to many of the rooms, plus another smaller atrium, where most of the rest of the rooms are located. Many of the corridors have two chairs and a small table outside each of the bedrooms where guests can sit and share a snack with friends or chat to other guests. A very nice feature. Internet WiFi in the room was provided for 30 baht for 2 hours, get the password from Reception. Plenty of car parking spaces available at the back of the hotel. We found the hotel staff to be generally friendly, maybe a little reserved sometimes. As well as Function Rooms, they have a Karaoke Bar, and also a good Massage Parlour. The hotel's location is excellent right on one of the main streets of Nan City right opposite the main market in Nan and within easy walking distance of many sights and the Riverside area. The Dhevaraj wasn't 4 or 5 star luxury but for a 3 star hotel we thought it was excellent.

A last minute booking from us after arriving in Nan City. The hotel is located in a narrow back street and the sign at the front is written in Thai script so if you are from a western country you may have some difficulty locating it but the Agoda app got us to within a few meters of the hotel. Very kind hotel staff. They pick me up at the airport and help me booking a taxi to Pua. The room is spacious and very clean. Breakfast also is very tasty, have soy bean milk and deep fried Chinese stick. I quite enjoy the breakfast music as well. I will come back if I have another visit to Nan. I like the staff very much, their kindness made this hotel like home. Also you can rent a free bicycle to go around the city, actually the location is also nice. There is a night market with very reasonable price within 5 mins walk. The only thing I would suggest is the air in the room not very fresh, better to open the window for some wind. But all in all, very good choice.

We used to visit this small town many times. We could see good and bad points of these hotels. Fah Place Hotel is one another with good location where we can walk to any places. The owner and staff are friendly. We were leaving early at 05.00 am. The hotel made an impressive morning call both by phone and door knock. Bike rent was easily returned at 05.00 am. after a half night use of it. The room was no window and bad air ventilation. It's non sense to increase price to higher floors since all rooms are the same. Generally, the higher is the cheaper because there is no elevator.
