The Daiwa Royal Hotel in Kyoto is an oasis in the bustling and in our case extremely hot Kyoto. It is brand new (opened June 9, 2018) and is very elegantly beautiful. Our room was very spacious with many amenities and the bed, extremely comfortable. The staff was very helpful with strong English and other foreign language capability. (I noticed French and Italian.) The breakfast buffet which in our package was included was outstanding. Kyoto train station is a 5 minute walk from the hotel which meant we could easily get around everywhere in Kyoto by public transport and we had an abundance of eating and shopping opportunities at our door step. I highly recommend.

Hotel Miyako is just outside Kyoto train station & it's very convenient to shops, bus & train systems. We travelled on JR pass from Namba, Osaka after 10am (after morning peak) and arrive at Kyoto within 60 mins. Hotel check in is after 2pm so we drop our luggage and visited Fushimi-Inari and Arashiyma (Monkey park and bamboo forest). Both Fushimi Inari and Saga-Arashiyama stations are on JR line so it quite handy. Umbrella is provided for hotel patron if you ask. The second day we use the JR line to get to Nara & in the evening we drop by to visit Kyoto Skywalk. It's also very convenient to get to Osaka, Hiroshima and Miyajima from here. Price wise it's a lot cheaper compare to Tokyo or downtown Kyoto. Furthermore the room size is much bigger compare Osaka & Tokyo. The hotel room is sound proof and you don't get to hear your neighbour! Staff is very helpful and it's highly recommended for JR pass holder!

Great Hotel, paid small amount extra and stayed in one of the top floor rooms and was well worth the extra. Rooms were beautiful. Staff had very basic English and helped where they could. Very nice staff though. Breakfast very busy, and 2500Y each if not purchased with room. Japanese version of a western breakfast and was not great value for money. Hotel also runs a free shuttle bus every 15 mins from Kyoto Train Station, which we weren't aware of when booking you need to go to the entrance opposite the New Miyako Hotel and look for the Green mini bus. Hotel is only about 10min flat walk from station. Some of the tours didn't pick up from the hotel and you needed to go to the New Miyako Hotel to be picked up. So you could either take the shuttle bus to the train station or walk. There is a 7 to 7 store around the corner (heading towards the New Miyako Hotel) about 5 mins away and you can pick up Sushi / beer and wine from there. Overall we would stay again.

Hotel is conveniently located opposite the kyoto train station and bus station. The nippon car rental is also round thr corner. The rooms are v confortable and clean. They provide new sets of pyjamas and toiletries everyday. They also provided umbrellas on a rainy day. The hotel staff were most helpful with advice when we needed durections. It is a really great value for money hotel in kyoto.

this is one of the best hotels in Kyoto with efficient and friendly service. large rooms (by Japanese standards) and nicely designed lobby make this a good place for rest after a long day sightseeing in Kyoto. great location to some of the main temples as well as the main train station. a little bit far away from downtown (shopping), Gion and some of the temples in the north (though everything within max 20min cab ride). we were traveling with young child (16months) and staff was very helpful (and at times tolerant) in dealing with it.

This hotel is great. Though tight in room size, the place is very clean and the staff are very polite and helpful. The hotel has everything you need for an adventure in Kyoto. It's close to the main Kyoto train station and bus terminus. There are plenty of restaurants and shops near by. Nothing is too far from this hotel and next time I visit Kyoto, I would definitely consider staying here again.

Good location, just 5-minute walk from JR Kyoto Train Station and shopping mall. 2 big malls, Kyoto Avanti is opposite, and bigger mall AEON mall 5 min walk. Hotel provides wet and dry laundry machines which is coin operated and password protected, and ramen noodle and drink vending machines selling fresh milk and best is public sauna pool. The room is cosy (comfortable and mattress and comfortable) and clean with all the appliances. The room is new, i guess they just renovated the room. Varieties of tv channels, HD tv.

Love the location near Kyoto train station even though it is not near any touristy area, but if you need to take a train to somewhere else later, this is a good hotel to stay. And my deluxe double room was surprisingly spacious and luxuriously decorated. For the agoda price, it was a great deal and a very comfortable stay. Friendly and helpful staff, even booked restaurants ahead for me per my requesr. But this is Japan known for great service and polite hotel staff so I can't ask for any better than this. Will stay there again if I visit Kyoto again.

The hotel is right on top of the Kyoto train station, and is brand new. It made getting around to all the sites very easy. The facilities were very nice, and the rooms were large comfortable and quiet. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Kyoto. Although the metro system in Kyoto is not that great, the bus lines are good. At te front of the hotel is the bus station and there are seeral lines which go past all of the tourist attractions. All signs were in English and it was very easy to get around. The hotel breakfast was also very good value for a hotel buffet. The main downtown shopping district had oter hotel choices, but did not look as nice as this hotel (at least from the street).

Hotel is across the road from Kyoto train station, so very convenient. We could be just about anywhere in Kyoto and catch a bus or a train back to the hotel. Busses are flat rate so a direct service means only paying it once! Room was smaller than western rooms but a standard size for japan - perfect for 2 people. Convience shop on the ground floor and a microwave and kettle meant we could buy noodles, drinks and snacks on the cheap and save a few bucks eating out constantly. 2 Internet computers to use on the ground floor too. The train station across the road has multi level shopping and food courts so easy to find places to eat. Room was clean, neat and very new. I would stay there again on my next trip to Kyoto.

This hotel is easy to find, just across Kyoto train station and the hotel name is up on the building facing the train station, so you will not miss it if you come out from the right exit from the train station. This area is full of eateries, supermarkets and convenient store. There are a lot of bus going to all the popular tourist destinations just across the road and three major department store within the train station. Room is great, clean, and bed is comfy. Toilet size is decent if compared to other Japanese toilet size but the room is super tiny and the window is very small, no view. It comes with queen size bed, a TV mounted above the bed on the wall at your feet's side. Dresser with fridge below is barely 40cm away from the bed. You can't open your luggage on the floor or you have to step over it if you are going to the toilet but that's the price you pay for the location.

We were nicely surprised on arrival at this hotel, not what we were expecting in comparison to the other hotels we had stayed at on this trip. Met by friendly and helpful staff and check in was no bother at all. Our room was spacious, clean and more than we expected. Previous hotels in Japan had been tiny in comparison. Kyoto Brighton is only 5 mins or so walk to the Kyoto Imperial Palace and Gardens. There are a few other shrines etc reasonably close but it is a fair way from any where else and a taxi or use of the shuttle bus is strongly recommended. Shuttle Bus only takes you to the nearest Subway station and picks up from same spot. About 2000Y in a taxi from the main Kyoto Train Station. We enjoyed our stay.

Almont Hotel is a great hotel. My sister and I enjoyed our few days here, especially their hot bath. Definitely a way to relax after a long day of sightseeing. It is close to a convenient store, the mall and not way too far from the Kyoto Train station too. However, if you are carrying big luggages, I would recommend that you stay at a hotel closer to the train station as this hotel would require about 20-minute walk from Kyoto Train Station. It is also an added bonus to have staff that were very friendly and helpful as well.

Stay this hotel for two nights in Kyoto. Near to Omiya station and Shijo Omiya station. There are few bus station nearer the hotel if you would like to take city bus. Visited the Arashiyama bamboo side by using 嵐電, which just located 1minutes away from hotel. You can go to Kawaramachi area by metro Omiya station which also just 1minutes from hotel. Convinient locatio in Kyoto and friendly staffs. Everyone are smiling and greet you. There are free breakfast and you can cook a simple dish. Breakfast are egg/ham/tuna/bread/sandwich/salad/fruits/soup and plenty of drinks that you can take. Room are big and two luggage can fix and open. Hotel is new, clean and I will stay again if visit Kyoto in future.

We were very impressed with Tokyo Hotel. It was the cheapest place that we stayed, but was the nicest. There was excelent service and very extravigant suroundings. The rooms were larger than most in japan and so was the TV. The staff were very freindly, profesional, helpful and most spoke English. The only downside is that is is about a 15 min walk from the Kyoto train station and the restaurant is pretty expensive.

Stayed 3 nights in this hotel on a recent sightseeing trip to Kyoto with my wife and 10 year old son. Although we only booked a double room, I mentioned that I was travelling with my son and the hotel thoughtfully provided a room with 3 single beds at no extra charge. The hotel is quite new and very clean and well decorated. Beds were comfortable with a choice of different pillow types - foam or beans! The bathroom had separate wet-room shower and a bathtub. This is a no- smoking hotel which is unusual in Japan which made a nice change in what is a serious smoking country so no stale smoke odours! A free 'continental' breakfast consisting of unlimited freshly-baked (warm!) Danish pastries, juice cartons and tea & coffee is provided. The hotel is 2 minutes walk from the Hankyu railway's Omiya station and the Randen Arashiyama Line's Shijo Omiya station. There are plenty of bus stops within a few minutes walk to take you to all of the major tourist sites - I recommend the one-day Kyoto bus pass for 500 Yen (available at the hotel front desk or from bus drivers) which is cheaper than 3 bus rides if you will plan on using the bus for tourism! The hotel web site provides details of how to get there - which if you are coming from Kyoto JR Station needs a change between the Kyoto Metro and the Hankyu Railway and separate tickets, neither are operated by JR so not included in the Japan Rail Pass! Would certainly consider staying here again if I return to Kyoto.

Location of this hotel is great, we walked with our 2 big luggages and 2 kids from Nijo train station, was about 10 mins walk. Bus stop also just outside which is very convenient as we used the bus more to go to the temples and places of interests. As for service, we can't fault the front desk. We left a luggage from a bus service we took from Tokyo to Kyoto. When we arrived at the hotel we requested their help to call the company, they were able to speak on our behalf and got the luggage delivered to the hotel. We got the luggage a couple of days later! Without their help we wouldn't have been able to get our luggage that quickly! Thank you for the person that helped us, we wrote down his name but lost it...thank you to them anyway. Room was good and it had good amenities. Breakfast was great too! I was able to try a few local food which was nice. We would stay here again.

When I arrived at Kyoto Station from Tokyo. The first thing was to visit Tourists' information center at the station. They provided me with the City map as well as the Bus route to the Hotel. Went to Bus stop A3 on the north side of station and catched Bus 206. It costs 200 Yen. Got off at the bus stop close to the Hotel. It's only few minutes walk. Room was not big but adequate with twin beds. The hotel is not the pick-up point for local tour. Have to go to nearby Hotel for pick-up. Hotel is central to few points of interest, such as Nijo Castle,Kyoto Imperial,Tenryuji Temple,Kikakuji temple(Golden Pavillion). They can be reached by either Bus or train. The 1-day Kyoto tour costs 11,600(including lunch) yen per person. If you want to save money, travel by bus or train yourself will still get you to the place you want.

This hotel is fantastic for the price. It is right next to a metro station and only 5 minutes walk to Kyoto train station. The hotel is not located in downtown Kyoto but it is really quick and easy to get there by metro. The bedroom and bathroom were larger than I expected. The room was very clean and pleasant. The hotel was modern and the bar located on the ground floor had a really nice feeling to it. The bar was really relaxed and wasn't noisy or smokey. They give a free welcome drink in the evening and it seems to encourage many people to enjoy the bar area whilst planning their travels. I will definitely stay at this hotel again the next time I visit Kyoto.

The location is quite ok. Various bus routes just a minute away from hotel. In Kyoto you will be catching bus more than subway so access to a big bus stop is more convenient. few minutes walk to Shin-omiya stn which going directly to Arashiyama Bamboo forest. I didn’t use the train lines that much so depends where you go it will benefit you but 90% you’ll catch bus to shrines and temples in the city. The hotel is pretty new so cleanliness is good and facilities inside hotel are new also. Few limitations are you can’t leave your luggages at hotel itself because there is no reception desk there. The hotel check-in & out are done automatically on ipad. No actual staff presentation at hotel. They have their main office near Kyoto stn, if you need to drop off your luggage before/after your stay, you’ll need to pickup/bring luggage to office, quite inconvenient if you have few pieces. A friendly suggestion, should have communication app like Line, Whatapps to have quicker reply.

About 6 min walk from Kyoto train station and on the way to the hotel you'll pass by 2 Lawson convenience stores and there is also a grocery store right across the hotel. Staff is friendly and the room has towels and toothbrushes but next to the front desk is an "Amenities shelf" where you help yourself to other things you may need such as combs, loofa, variety of pillows etc.
