"Stayed here for 4 days in July 2009. July certainly seems to be rainy season as rained most of last 2 days (but no rain for week before according to taxi driver so don't be put off, plus the hotel had good wet weather options). Room was very clean, some public areas not quite so good but I guess it's difficult with loads of wet people milling about.... Although the resort had lots of on-site facilities we also wanted a place where we didn't have to stay in the resort the whole time. The hotel was a good option for this. For example, there was a really excellent fish restaurant about 10 mins walk away, but also some poorer options (we learnt to avoid quieter places and made our best guess as to what sort of cuisine would probably be the best option in the place we were in, e.g. not Spanish sausage pizza in a curry house....sounds obvious but there we go!). There was also an excellent and much, much cheaper spa literally across the road in great surroundings (<5 mins away in the Laman Padi). Beach location was really not great (sort of exposed and not good for swimming due to water sports and jellyfish (saw some washed up)). It's OK for strolling along, sunbathing (noise of jet skiis in some parts not too nice though). My biggest gripe was the hotel's policy of no shorts or sleeveless tops in bar and restaurants in the evening. This completely put us off staying there in the evening - Strange idea, who would want to wear long trousers in hot and especially hot & really wet weather? However, when monsoon level rain prevented us going out on our final night we obediently togged up only to then see that no one else actually seemed to pay much attention to that anyway! Anyway, apart from that the resort was very relaxed, a perfect balance of comfort and facilities without too much stiffness (which obviously is not our thing). Loved the wood buildings and posh beach hut feel of our room. We liked the local wildlife too (just a few cute geckos on the balcony etc,). "

"If Pentai Cenang is best beach in Langkawi then undoubtedly best star is best hotel of Pentai Cenang. prices are very good and at back side hotel has a swimming pool just attached with the beach. so from back side when you step out of the hotel then you are actually stepping on the Pentai Cenang beach, the most happening and activity filled beach of the Langkawi. Hotel is surrounded by countless local and branded eateries as well as shopping mall and its just 5 Kms away from airport. Undoubtedly a recommended hotel and i personally would love to stay in this hotel every time i visit Langkawi. "

"Pros: Walking distance to Cenang beach, Laman Padi, Cenang mall, food outlets and convenience stores. Room is clean and the beds and pillows are fluffy and comfortable. Water pressure is fine. Towel and body wash are provided as well as clothing iron. Staff are friendly and island hopping package (RM30 per person, price might differ due to holiday season) is offered at the reception. Cons: Hair dryer and shampoo are not provided. There are no kettle or tea bags but there's Coway water dispenser beside the reception. Ceiling fan speed might be quite slow and can't adjust the speed as the remote control has been removed. Yet, it'll be fine if you switch on both fan and A/C at the same time. There are quite a lot of mosquitoes in the evening and at night so remember to always close the doors. It might be quite noisy when other guests gather and talk at the public area so staying at the upper floor will be better than staying at ground floor rooms."

"My 11th time to Langkawi ever since 20 years ago. Been staying from Datay Bay to Cenang Beach and major parts of Langkawi. Visited the paddy field 'Laman Padi' a couple of times even before the creation of the village. It is this little lovely place that captured my heart and worthy of mentioning, known as now The Gemalai Village. A warm welcome at the reception, with early check-in, Wan introduces our address of the week the "Teratak". A double-storey kampung hut with a lovely verandah and the fascinating story behind the only 6 unique traditional huts of Langkawi. Gemalai, means gentle wind whispers across the vast paddy field on a small village. Could really feel they put a lot of effort and passion in maintaining these 6 inspirational masterpiece, truly a labour of love and work of art. Few villagers are stationed within the village for housekeeping and to provide assistance whenever required. Being friendly and good service at the same time. Great team! Nature has its way to greet us a beautiful morning, a rooster alarm clock, sounds of bird chirping, sights of buffalo working, breakfast is delivered to the verandah and guarded by a humble looking kampung cat and a couple of inquisitive roosters. Though the kampung breakfast may be simple to many non-locals. We find that having breakfast served in traditional 'tudung saji' (woven rattan dish cover) is the only moment of the day we could settle down for a peace, tranquillity and quality of time together on a picturesque paddy field. A worthwhile experience we would never forget. As a matter of choice, when one would like to feel the same experience without having to pay the extra for a simple breakfast. Just borrow a 'tudung saji' from the friendly villager to put in the breakfast, they are more than willing to help out. After the breakfast, it's a cycling day in the kampung that has given us a heart full of joy and fun. Overlooking the paddy field and buffalo is known as 'kerbau' locally. Around late af"

"Hotel is situated right in the middle of Pantai Cenang, the hotspot in Langkawi. Just 2 mins walk to the beach and lots of shops just below the hotel. 5 min walk to Cenang mall. Room is the most spacious I’ve ever stayed in for this price. The beach is just opposite the hotel and you can view the sunset from the rooftop which is a very pretty open concept cafe.Room is clean and good enough to come back to after exploring Langkawi. Hotel even has a pool on the ground floor, and many restaurants and other establishments around it, very convenient. Excellent location and good value for money. everything is good. thank you for your hospitality."

"It was a perfect getaway for me and my sister. We stayed at the hotel most of the time just enjoying our room and the facilities and we already feel very happy. We even want to extend our stay but sadly we have work to go back to but we do plan to come back as it has been the best hotel experience for us. The hotel is located in Pantai Cenang which is among the popular beach in Langkawi but never once we feel disturbed during our stay. It is located at one end of the beach. Not many publics came to the beach hence it was a peaceful environment for us. If you are looking for peaceful and quiet environment this will be the perfect place/hotel to go with the perfect view. This hotel was mainly occupied by honeymooners/ retired couple as they don't have family rooms. We only saw 2 kids during our stay and they don't even make that much noise. We stayed in the beachfront room which we really recommend as you will have the nicest view to wake up to. The best thing about this hotel was the staffs. The staffs from the reception staffs to the maintainance staffs are super friendly and attentive which made our stay even more wonderful. They were really kind and helpful. The hotel may not be totally perfect as it is a four star hotel but the way the staff treated you just made you feel you are staying in a 5 star hotel. The food and spa were not that fantastic but again the wonderful staffs made us forget this little imperfections. The room service food price was reasonable to us and the best thing they don't have extra 6% gst nor the 10% service charge. Overall it's been a fantastic and unforgettable stay for us. We are definitely coming back next year."

"As a solo traveler and a first timer in Langkawi, Adya Hotel Chenang made me feel secure and at home. That was an important thing for me so I can enjoy my short vacation with peace of mind. It also helped that the hotel was conservative (no alcohol allowed) and family friendly so I know that they value people's safety and security. Location was amazing! Even if it wasn't exactly ON the beach, it still felt like it because it was at the central area where you literally just cross the narrow street and you're already in the sand and water. It was beside the Cenang Mall and a Duty Free mall but if you want to get the local goods, you just walk to either side and they are all there. Value was also pretty good as it wasn't too expensive. It's still very new (5 months old) so everything is in its good condition. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! "
