Booked a normal room but got upgraded to superior which give us a very good first impression of the hotel. The room is spacious and nice with 4 star hotel ambience. Toilet is large and nice. The area is located in the middle of bukit bintang and pasar seni area. Go out of the hotel you turn left and you are heading to bukit bintang. Turn to the right there you have petaling street. The price are super cheap for a really nice hotel. In front of the hotel is pudu sentral where you can easily find transportation around the city. Uber? There are tons of uber drivers around. The area is always full of tourist until 10pm as the street infront of the hotel is the main road connecting pedestrian from petaling street to bukit bintang. And to the management please teach your foreign worker to respect the customers. Dont stares at the girls like hungry dogs

The location is very convenient which is near the train station. Hotel is a few minutes walk to diff establishments like fastfood chains, Watson's, 7-11 and Central Market. Minimalist approach in most of the rooms which is nice but best if there are cabinets where you can put clothes, etc. Staffs are very friendly. My flight is late in the evening and I was allowed to leave my things w/o hesitations. Really accommodating 👍🏽 Thanks Ahyu for the great accommodation.

Pros: Good location, budget hotel, but u should prepare RM. 10-15/room tax, nite market under the hotel and nearby to masjid India market, new store of MYDIN at masjid jamik more completed of chocolate varieties with the cheaper price so we don't need to go to MYDIN kotaraya...food stalls around nearby MYDIN we can eat halal food (nasi padang/medan).. we can reach LRT masjid jamik station for 5-8min by walking Breakfast okay Cons: If it's ur 1st time it will difficult to find hotel location or sign board from LRT train station cause of nite market tend will close it.. No free shuttle bus here, if u want to go to bukit bintang, better u go by taxi online, if u go by LRT, u have to spend ur time from masjid jamik to KL sentral, than u shoud go by monorail Komuter line to stop at bukit bintang...but from masjid jamik station u can reach to twin tower easier

It's location is near to the subway MRT& LRT station. A few minutes walk to monorail station near China Town areas. It's near to Pasar Seni Bus Terminal. The fabrication of the internal hotel is old but there is a lift to every floors of the rooms. The air condition is centralised & it's really cold. There is a food catering service for breadfast & lunch inside the hotel. Room cleansing service is carried out every morning. Anyway it's worth to stay there.

The accomodation is quite new. The rooms are very large and clean. I had a nice view to the KL and Twin Tower. The Pudu Sentral bus station is opposite of the hotel and China Town and Jamek Masjid (MRT station) is just a couple minutes away. I enjoyed my stay very much. The first day I made use of the parking on the back (MYR 5,30) all other days I used the taxi. The options for vegetarians could have been better. 7/11 on the corner. I made three different bookings thru Agoda. Two got linked with Booking.com and I had to pay in three different ways. A bit confusing and annoying at the time of arrival when I had to pay the second day to the accomodation, while the other two days were collected by card and bank transfer.

Personally, this hotel is voted as the best choice to stay in if you're looking for a hotel near Chinatown. As petaling street market is a 'Must go' spot in KL, definitely a need for a hotel nearby to avoid the hassle of bringing the bags of shopping items back to the room. Conveniently near a monorail station, maharajalela, no worries about transportation. The hotel's lobby has a cozy environment and the receptionist was forthcoming. Upon entering the room, it was clean and was quite adequate in size for a deluxe room. To our surprise, there was also a cozy balcony to relax in. There isn't any safe deposit in the room. The complimentary wifi was a plus. However one of the concern is the lack of towel. Only two shower towel were provided. There wasn't any face towel. As the shower area was a half-open concept, the toilet floor was wet after every shower. Thus, a tower or a mat wld be good to put in place. In addition, it was peaceful at night during our stay. The breakfast was disappointing as selections were literally limited. A plus point was we wanted housekeeping after the first night and we bumped Into the housekeeper on our way out. Thus, we requested for it on the spot. Hours later when we came back, room was all in place as well as the amenities. All in all, was a pleasant stay. Value for money as well.

The hotel is new so everything is clean and in great condition. I requested a room facing the road during booking and they assigned me such room. I love the location. The hotel is nestled between 2 LRT stations, i.e. Pasar Seni and Masjid Jamek. You can change to MRT line at Pasar Seni. It is literally behind the Central Market so it is convenient to explore Chinatown on foot. The room is new and I love everything about the room. One minus point will be the smell from the toilet. Even though it is spotlessly clean, it can emit some smell when you flush it. Better if you close the toilet lid all the time.

I checked into Arenaa Star on the 21st October and stayed here for 2 nights. It was a very pleasant stay. First and foremost after putting down my luggage, I ventured to the hotel's open air restaurant located on the Mezzanine floor. The seafood olio oglio I ordered was good. I also tried grilled chicken and lamb chop on subsequent days and they are all ridiculously cheap yet extremely tasty. Wow! The friendly and courteous staffs made the ambience all the more better. When it comes to the accomodation, I must say that it has the coziest bed and pillows for you to rest after a long walk tour around KL which you can easiy access via the LRT and is just a walking distance from Chinatown. Not to mention the big and modern bathroom, flat wide screen tv and various themes that represents each floor. For example the 1st Floor represents the Malaysian stars thus you will see the portraits of the local entertainers painted on the wall along the hallways to every hotel room. Not to mention the Hollywood, Bollywood, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Korea etc. You might have a pleasant surprise to see that one of them happens to be your favourite! So in conclusion, Arenaa Stars lives up to its name and is very recommendable for the budget value and comfort.

I stayed here for 3 nights and it is the best place so far for me. This hotel is superb! good location, near from the train station, near the central market, china town and plus the terminal for GoKL bus (which i use for free). and the rooftop pool is so awesome at night! i cant find the other cheap hotels that have the facilities like this. it is more than what you pay. the staff will clean your room based on your request. the room itself is okay for 2 people. the shower is good, the water heater is working well. they give the soap and shampoo everyday. there is also restaurant down of the hotel and the food is very good and its cheap as well. Near by the hotel (along katsuri walk) there is popular curry restaurant, yusoof and zakhir, which I check on google its one of the best curry restaurant in kuala lumpur. And its cheap also! I will have another trip to kuala lumpur and will stay here again. ^^

I think it's quite a new hotel, run by Tamil staff. Staff friendly and helpful. Ideally situated close to LRT Pasar Seni, Central Market, Kasturi Walk, Jalan Petaling, etc. Not much character, but excellent value, clean, quiet and everything one needs. Great views over the city from window - National Mosque, etc. We booked 3 hotels in Malaysia on this trip, and Lavana was the best (the friendliest and and also the cheapest by a long way). One problem with all hotels was the snail-like Wifi, ironic as there are signs everywhere reading that Malaysia is getting up to speed, 500 Mbps - well, they have a long way to go, and that's compared to Lombok, where I live.

I have stayed here before and it would have been a wonderful hotel at one time. Is still veryoung clean,staff very helpful, everything in good condition. Seems to be a favourite for package tours so not the kind of place to meet new people by the swimming pool. The pool is covered by a roof so is quite cool if not cold. Is very close to Maharajalela Monorail station but not so close to anything else. Is close to Chinatown but probably too close to catch a taxi-hard for it to cross the road to the hotel- making it a bit scary at night to walk home. Regardless a luxury hotel in central KL with great staff for a budget price

We stayed in the family room at hotel chinatown2. As a family of 6, it was a very good size & spacious. We were overlooking the night markets on the side facing the hotel, it took us a couple of nights to adjust to the noise, but, we had expected this & loved being in the heart of the hustle & bustle of chinatown. we were very central to everything & the monorail station is only a 5 minute walk. There are tours available to be booked at the desk, great value (book when you get there). Lots of great food stalls very close. Will pack less in the suitcase next time.Had a wonderful time, thanks

I booked this hotel at dormitory room and stayed with my two other friends but actually this room can provide up to 4 person. The room is nice, clean, tidy, there's a TV, the toilets and shower are separated. The receptionist is very nice and kind so we can communicate easily. There's an extra deposite 50 RM and promo for an extra breakfast 10 RM per day for three of us. Overall the place is only 2-3 minutes to Masjid Jamek LRT Station so we can travel everywhere easily. Its only 5-10 minutes walk to central market and petailing street. This is a very good place to stay. We are staying for 3 nights. Thank you Max Star Hotel👍👍

I travelled from east Malaysia (The Borneo). Checked in late because flight delayed. The receptionist is am awesome lady. She is a Philipino and married to Malaysian and been in Malaysia almost 25 years. How do i know her details?? Because she is so friendly and very warmest welcome i have. Hotels are in China Town in Petaling street KL. Closed to Monorails (Maharajarela) and nearest to LRT (Pasar Seni) connected to KL Sentral. Its connected to all trains service. Recommended to stay and i rated 5 stars to this Hotel.

I can't point any uncomfortable experience in the hotel as all staff were very accomodating and knowledgeable on the tourist spot in KL. Very nice room - comfortable bed & good facilities. The location is excellent - very accessible to transportation (it is just in the central market - 4mins walk to petaling street ang roughly 6mins walk to train station. Would definitely book again :)

the overall condition of the hotel is ok. nice view through your window. nice food too (esp the nasi lemak for breakfast), and the chef was friendly. it is near to many interesting places such as central market, berjaya times square, klcc and midvalley megamall. it is also near to maharajalela monorail station, whereby easy for you to move around kl with this public transport. hope to stay there again at midah hotel once we are in kl.

it was a great stay at the hotel was located besides the masjid monorail station which connects us around the city & to kl central which connects us to train stations going to sunway lagoon & genting highland. you can also take a cab within the city at rm15-20 ringgit depends on the distance, you can bargain the price if you hail a cab by the road side or get at a cab at the taxi counter at most shopping centers with a fix price. shops till you drop & eat all you can within a walking distance. the people are very friendly & helpful if you are asking for directions.

Big clean room with good city view. Was staying in Room no. 506, the room is comfortable n cozy. Friendly staff. No minibar in room, however they keep ur drinks / chocolates into their fridge on request. Luggage keeping facility available. Breakfast was also good. Free water available. Maharajalela Monorail station is just 5-7 minutes walk. If heading to airport during odd timing have to spent Rm100 for taxi one way, otherwise people may use Monorail & corresponding Bus service from KL central to airport. Would definately stay again if visit KL.

This hotel, though situated in between two monorail stops (i.e. Hang Tuah & Maharajalela) has fewer human traffic and the room I stayed in (Deluxe) wasn't noisy at all. There are reasonable priced convenience shops next door like KK and 7-11, with an ATM just 2 minutes walk down the shop row. Also lots of hawker fares dotted around the area. There is a RM50 check-in refundable security deposit to be paid in cash that wasn't listed online via agoda.com during booking. Checked in early at 7AM for extra RM 20 (normal hour is 2PM and out by 12PM) and room is expected in size, rather small but sufficient. Amenities like hair dryer, iron and etc can be requested from reception. It doesn't come per check-in. TV channels are really limited and internet use via WiFi is really slow, It was like between 50kbps ~ 150kbps at best throughout my time there. I'm used to higher speeds. Best for day or two nights stay max, unless you have a purpose to do so. There are other hotels like this along the way towards Maharajalela monorail station. If you are on a budget and seeking backpacking style accom, would suggest Grid 9. Its right next to the Maharajalela monorail station. Other than that, I would stay here again if the need arises.

We have always love staying in Chinatown KL compared to other parts of KL because of the hustle and bustle of Petaling Street, which also has great food and shopping bargains. Having stayed in a few other hotels, Hotel GEO is the most convenient hotel in whole of Chinatown KL. It is smack right beside the exit of Pasar Seni LRT, like one minute walk away without having to cross any street. Pasar Seni is beside KL Sentral LRT station, and is on the same line as KLCC station. To us, this is a location heart of KL, very accessible to other places such as KLCC, Golden Triangle, Bricksfield Little India, Midvalley area, Damansara area, Sunway Lagoon (places we went). 5 mins across the street, it is the famous Petaling Street. There is the famous Long gan drink stall, and the famous KL Hokkien Noodle. In the evening there is the Grill Stingray, sotong, cockles stall right beside Hong Leong Bank, for supper you can have Grill BBQ food and Lok Lok right beside the KK Convenient store. And who can missed out the streets full of stalls with "genuine copy" goods and cheap bargains? :D Besides the great location, the staffs are extremely friendly that smile and greet us whenever we went back. The lifts can only be accessed upon tapping the room card. The hotel is very new, having opened only few months ago. The whole place is very new and clean. Although room is small, it is big and comfortable enough for the two of us. Bed is king size and very comfortable :)

This is a hotel not only the gimmick which just attracts tourists to have a stay and upload photos to Instagram. It is a very beautiful hotel near to the best community in the city: Chinatown. I really like how they apply the air well traditional architectural feature to all the private rooms especially the lowest floor with a garden, with natural lights and rain coming inside. If there is a chair it will be great for guests to sit in front of the garden to feel more relaxed. The hotel room is also appreciated as all the furnitures are in traditional style. I can enjoy the garden view on my bed as well, and before sleeping I liked turning off all the light in the room, leaving the only stage light on in the garden. The breakfast is a way to understand the Nanyang food culture. They also provide free and high quality drink every day in their coffee shop.

Location is spot on, it is right in front of Plaza Rakayat bus terminal and the train. It is also within walking distance from Masjid Jamek (10 minutes) which is a main metro station and the city walk (KL city gallery, Sultan Abdelsamad, Merdeka square) On the other side you walk to the street with many restaurants, street food hawkers and shopping malls like Lot 10, Fahrenheit and Pavilion. All within walking distance The room I stayed at had no window unfortunately, so I recommend you request that when you book. It was a small room with all the necessities covered, but the walls weren't thick as I could hear people talk or the TV sometimes. The room was cleaned daily. Breakfast is mainly Indian (rice, noodles, potatoes, bread, boiled eggs, jam and butter) and the staff were friendly and efficient. The wifi is pretty decent in the lobby and rooms although sometimes it disconnected ,so I had to reconnect again. Overall, I would recommend it.

The location is pretty much perfect. In the middle of the city, to the left of the front door is the Metro station to take you anywhere in the city that you want to go and to the right is Petaling Street. There are restaurants nearby and the Central Market. A+ for location. The single rooms are pretty small and no windows but they're cheap and clean and big enough for one. My biggest problem was that all the single beds are located on the ground floor which means you can hear EVERYTHING going on in the lobby and at the front desk at all hours of the day and night. I asked to be moved and because all the single beds are on that floor, I'd have to upgrade to a double bed to switch to a different floor. So if you're not a light sleeper and want a cheap and comfy private room. This is the hotel for you.

I stayed in Hotel Petaling seven nights, everything was fine, clean room, comfy bed, very handy hot and cold drinking water dispenser - have a coffee in your room anytime. Most of the staff were very nice, some not. It was hard to connect to the internet and connection was cut very often, sometimes no connection. Around the hotel there are many restaurants with good food and beer. Walking distance to many sightseeing's. The hotel is very close to both LRT Pasar Seni and Monorail Maharajalela stations, 5 min walk. What I didn't like is camera system in all rooms, everybody in reception can watch you. Final summary - Good budget hotel.
