First of all, this hotel is very luxury at a budget price. Most budget hotels in Thailand have outdated furnishings and wall hangings, but every inch of this hotel is clean, well-maintained, very luxury looking. The staff is outstanding and there is a doorman or other staff about every 20 meters of the hotel. Check-in and check-out was fast, and we even got fast service when we needed an extra room card. I mention this because I read many horror story reviews on here before we booked the place. I only saw crowds in the reception area when a bus came in (which there were many - its one of the biggest hotels in Bangkok). The breakfast was outstanding. You can eat in the cafe, which has outdoor dining, or the upstairs restaurant. Both have the same food, so it depends if want a city view with your breakfast, or some fresh morning air. The Thai restaurant at the top of the hotel wasn't very impressive. The food was bland and overpriced. We live in Northeast Thailand, so maybe we are spoiled. The best part of the hotel was the room. We stayed in a 3-bedroom suite, which was a mini-apartment. It actually looks like the hotel bought a condo building next door and turned the condos into rooms. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean and new, and there was lots of space. We actually only needed 2-bedrooms, but the upgrade price was so cheap we went with 3-bedrooms. The suites have their own lobby, elevators, and secured parking. If you want to go shopping, which was the primary reason we stayed at this hotel (the kids needed clothes for school), there is a 6-floor fashion mall below the hotel. Its the place to get good, low priced clothes (6th floor has a food court). If you want to save even more money, get up at 3am and walk outside. From 3-6am, the streets around the hotel hold the largest clothes wholesale market in SE Asia. Hundreds of sellers line the streets selling every kind of clothes you can think of. We saved 70% on school clothes this year.

This hotel is new and I am happy to say the staff are very helpful and professional. The rooftop pool is small but immaculate and plenty of lounge chairs. Located close to Khao San Road ,street food and restaurants makes this ideal. We booked a room with a canal view,not spectacular view but much better than most outlooks. Breakfast was good,serve from 6.30 which suited us plus sitting overlooking and watching the canal activities is quite enjoyable. Would definitely stay again. Could not find any fault ,best we have stayed at in 10 years of visiting Bangkok.

The stay at Nouvo City Hotel was an excellent experience. The rooms are very well appointed, clean and quiet, had full blackout curtains, great air conditioning and were spacious, with a wonderfully large shower area. With 2 children under 12 years of age, we were provided an extra bed free of charge – that we did not request but my eldest was extremely grateful for, as she avoided having to sleep on the thin mattress we took with us. We only had to pay for breakfast for our eldest given the booking was room + breakfast for my wife and I. We did not have to pay for breakfast for our youngest. The furniture in the room was ideal for setting up a third small bed for our 4 year old. The rooftop pool was clean and always monitored by staff. The roof top gym I only viewed from outside but the equipment appeared quite new and in good condition. The pool water was salt, so did not hurt our eyes and was a great temperature given its exposure to the sun. The staff members we dealt with on the front desk were very efficient and polite. The restaurant staff were well trained, and super-efficient and polite. The customer relations manager gave us excellent support – not that we had any issues at all – and his English, after having lived 28 years in the US – was impeccable. We chose the hotel manly due to the price and the fact it had a free car park. The location is not close to a train station, but very close to the Grand Palace and the river ferry to catch into town. The restaurants around the Hotel were countless, and we found some local cuisine places at local prices. My sole criticism is the soft bed. It moved a little too much when, for example, our 4 year old joined my wife and I the first couple of nights. Apart from that, I feel the Hotel certainly deserves the rating it has and probably a bit more.

Booked 3 rooms. All different ‘taste’ & ‘feeling’ room 501 has the smallest size of all the room. Quiet at night because facing the pool (not the road). Room 505 has the BEST above all 3 room. Quiet & big size room Room 516: big size room, yet at night has the sound of the bass from the music outside. Yes! Location is awesome though. Lots of food & shopping are available just outside from the hotel. Khaoshan road night market is 1 road beside the hotel. You can do pindapata dana to the wat bowoniet vihara at 05.45-07.30 in the morning. Which is about 3-5 minute walking distance. Yes! Very close only. Great hotel overall. It could be better if the receptionist staff has a little bit more smile in her face, not so cool. Will absolutely come back again. Whaledone & keep great work! Thank YOU in tons! To be honest, I wasn't expecting much when I was booking to stay right on Khao San road. I was only staying for one night so I wanted to be close to the action of bars, markets and good food. I wouldn't recommend this is you were staying for a week or so, the busyness and haggling could get a bit. However, this was perfect for a short stopover for a couple of nights. Walk down stairs and the street is packed from mid afternoon only getting fuller into the night with food stalls, shopping, massages, and bars. I was surprised with the standard of the interior, this is something I'm fairly particular about. The hotel room was huge with a giant four poster king bed in the middle. Everything was very clean and nice. I had read reviews on this hotel being loud, my room was the very last room in the hallway right on Khao San road. I heard the music start at about 3pm. When I returned for bed at 11 I could hear it quite well but once I popped some ear plugs in, I slept like a baby. I would definitely go back to this hotel. I had such a great experience in bangkok due to booking this hotel in this location.

Most ministries and UN agencies are located nearby. One can walk to UNESCAP through small alleys once one knows the way. There's a small market close by off Nakhon Sawan road to buy food, sweets and fruits. The main downside of the location is that it is a bit difficult to get a taxi quickly from it as the access road is usually jammed. Best to walk out to Krung Kasem or Nakhon Sawan roads to flag a taxi from there. I had a problem with room service, who did not supply free drinking water, so I opened mineral water and was charged for it. If you don't see the glass bottles of drinking water, best to call room service to ask for them.

Nanda is the nicest hotel we could have found in Bangkok. For a very nice price you get to stay in a calm area but walking distance from khao san and all the buzz... we walked several times, tuk tuk is about 50 baht which is close to nothing. As an architect, I was overwhelmed by the design and beauty of the hotel. Interesting design books in the lobby... A week before staying here we stayed in a 5 star hotel in Sukumvit, which was double the price, in a huge skyscraper, but we enjoyed staying in Nanda wayyyy more. Staff is amazing, helpful, pretty good english ( which is not common in Bangkok). We are coming back to Bangkok this year and we will stay in Nanda again.

I've been staying at the Royal for 20 years. It is one of my favorite hotels in Thailand. My husband is Thai and we go home to visit his family often. We always include a stay at the Royal because we enjoy it so much. It's not a matter of cheap, because we also stay at the 5 star Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit which is our other fav hotel in Th. but for very different reasons. The quality of the rooms varies. The ones on the street side are larger but can be noisy. The rooms in the "new" building-it's probably about 10 years old now-lack the charm of the older part of the hotel. Yes I know the front desk staff can be a bit surly and they charge a key deposit and they won't give out more than one key per room, but there's a reason for all that. Many of the westerners who stay here behave as though they are entitled to I don't know what but I have seen some quite bad behavior over the years. Many are rather rude and demanding. They steal items from the hotel, they are often unkempt and dressed in ways the Thais find disrespectful or even offensive (especially the females). It doesn't take very long for the reception desk personnel to become jaded and defensive when dealing with Farangs like these. Despite all of that, if you can take the Thai approach to life (mai pen rai) and remember that you are staying in a very historic grand old palace of a hotel, that you could not have found a better location for sight-seeing, great food and access to transportation and that some of the best local Thai food is served right here in the restaurant ("this is real Thai taste" my husband always says)-not to mention live entertainment most nights-a great pool that is always crystal clear, a very nice breakfast buffet! I love this place.

Good location , upon arrival we were upgraded for free to the premium room. This hotel is right in the middle of Khaosan road, straight outside of the hotel are many places to eat and drink including local street food. Plenty of shops and stalls selling souvenuiers, electronics , clothes etc ... be prepared to haggle for a good price! The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. very good value for money considering the price we paid for this room (£ gbp per night). There is a rooftop pool which we did not use but you can see views of the grand palace from up there. Room was cleaned daily. Cable tv with various channels to cater for all nationalities. complimentary water provided each day. Mini Bar (chargable but very cheap) ... there is also a mini-mart right at the hotel enterance. There is a coffee shop in the hotel reception area which also sells breakfast and snacks very reasonably priced and tasty! Depending where your room is facing you may hear the noise of music etc from the road - however if you are staying on Khaosan road you have to expect this ... plus the cocktails sold outside help you to sleep!! The only bad point about this hotel was the shower - it was more of a wet room with just a curtain so the floor tends to get a bit wet... overall this was a minor issue.

The Dang Derm is centrally located along KSR which made for easy acess to surrounding restaurants, road venders, shopping and nghtlife. A bit noisy at night (we were on the 5th floor), but it is hardly a problem and the drone of music becomes a gentle hum which we easily fell asleep too. Ear-plugs are a simple solution. KSR is party central, and foreigners here are in abundance! It is alot of fun staying along this road, and Dang Derm Hotel offers escape from the busyness of it all. The Greens and Cheese restaurant was good, and offered a large selection of Western food as well as local cousine. On the whole the local food is better and much cheaper! On arrival we got 10% off coupons for every meal we had at that restaurant. The room was quite large and comfortable! The air-con worked fantastically, the bathroom was lovely and big and all electronics worked without any problems. The picture displayed in the Agoda Add, was the exact replica of our room, so we were pleased that we got what we paid for. Hotel staff were very friendly and offered us help with all our queries. The Dang Derm Hotel appeared to be one of the best hotels along KSR and we were so happy with our choice of accomodation.

Althought we stayed only for one night, the room was perfect: Very low cost room (amazing for the service you get and what they have to offer) Large and very comfortable room and bed Quiet, clean and very modern and new The staff was more than helpful, they are very attentive and nice. After our stay, they kept our luggages in a secure cage for free(with a lock, of course). They have a lot of hotel service to offer and a very good restaurant at the lobby. Its shows that this hotel is international and service oriented. The staff spoke very well english. 10-15 minutes walk from the Grand Palace and the temple. 5 minutes walk from a local night market with a lot of good restaurants. Really, nothing negative to say, very cheap, modern, and I would book all my future stay in Bangkok at this hotel.

We were the first of 10 guests on the first night. The hotel was still unfinished with final fitting work (not noisy) apparent in a lot of places including wiring in reception. The gym equipment had not been unwrapped and most of the bedrooms still had unwrapped furniture. The hotel location is great as it is located down a peaceful cul de sac which has a few useful shops including a 7 11. Despite this, it is only a couple of blocks away from the frantic Khaosan road allowing a traveller like me that has got used to 4/5* luxury relive some of his memories from 25 years ago. The reception doubles as a bar and all the paper work is done sat in comfortable chairs around tables in the bar area (something that is becoming best practice with the top boutique hotels and one that I encourage). The rooms were large enough with top quality beds and matresses. The bathrooms were large with a jacuzzi bath and separate shower (I like this). The only criticisms were that the only thing separating the bathroom from the bedroom was the jacuzzi bath and a curtain around it. This may sound romantic, but is not conjusive to eblusions. Although I was not disturbed, I also noted that, like mainy Asian hotels, there appeared to be no acoustic insulation built between the partician walls (when will they make this a standard in hotels that are clearly marketed at the top end). finally, some little touches were missing like a second toilet roll, water in the room (fruit was provided and there was a card to say free complementary water)and working wifi (intermittent and slow). I am sure these are teething problems. The swimming pool was in a nice location on the roof and very pleasant (if a bit small) and the gym (although not unwrapped) had quality cardio equipment with windows over looking the pool (so quite nice). The staff were excellent and the rooms immaculate. For the promotional price I got this hotel for, it was a must revisit- let's see what happens to prices though.

Casa Nithra Bangkok Thailand Overview: stayed for 3 nights In January 2018, booked though Agoda and received a good deal considering location and reviews. Location: excellent location about 12 minute walk to Kho San Road yet still far enough away if that's not your thing. Very very busy main road and a few guests complained during our stay asking to be moved rooms. Easy access to all tourist sites. Regular taxis and Tuk Tuks available outside the hotel. Check in: we arrived at quite a. Yay time and had to wait almost 30minutes to check in which you really do t need after a 15 hour flight. We where greeted with warm towels and cold Thai tea while we waited which was a nice touch. Room: we paid for a superior room which was lovely, the key you are given activates the lights and aircon, thus meaning the Aircon had not been on the room was around 30*c when we entered. Just like opening an oven door. Mini bar is quite expensive. Water is provided which is a great touch considering the humidity outside. Milk or creamer is not provided so we had to go and buy milk so we could have a cup of tea in the morning. Room service: ordered this on our second night after a full day of exploring, couldn't face going out. All I can say is amazing!! Ordered and arrived very quick, very reasonably priced for room service. Breakfast: our booking included breakfast, this is served between 6:30-10 in the main restaurant, good variety of food served from bacon and eggs to Thai curries etc. Wide selection of fruit. Only down side is that you don't get served anything, 3 members of staff stood behind bar but you have to do up and get your own coffee milk etc, I know you serve yourself at buffet for food but never stayed in hotel where you get your own coffee!! Coffee was very rarely ready and I feel it's not only me but coffee is the most important thing in the morning. Should I return to Bangkok I would stay at this hotel again.

Let me start with the good, I really did enjoy my stay here. It's in a unique location and the land has a neat history. The hotel itself is very scenic. Staff are friendly and try their best to facilitate your needs. The rooms are very well priced and I'd gladly recommend this hotel to anyone. All my complaints are relatively minor. When I arrived it turned out that my booking was mixed up somehow, instead of one bed for us the request on their end said two beds. No idea why, my PDF booking said one large bed. Then they asked my wife if her name was Jennifer (it's not). Later had my wife asking "Who's Jennifer?" The water was never hot, just warm. When I asked the cleaning lady to give my wife and me 2 minutes, she said okay and just never cleaned the room. The sound on the TV didn't work for 2 days, after the first day a maintenance man was sent to check it but I have no idea what came of that because when we returned that day it still wasn't working. All and all, we loved our stay.

RIkka Inn was the perfect place to stay! If you are interested in being near all the action of Khao San Road- this is it! However, this place was surprisingly very quiet- The hotel was right in the middle of Khao San Road but kind of set back in a way and it seemed as though most rooms were away from the street noises. I stayed there 2 nights at the beginning of my trip and one night at the very end of the trip and was glad i did. Great reception- we were to arrive at 11pm but didnt arrive till 4am due to flight delay- this wasn't a problem- our room was basic, but extremely clean and had a unique feeling (interesting decor)- comfortable beds- Most showers in Thailand were like the ones at Rikka Inn- a shower that is in the bathroom directly over the toilet- so you pretty much get the entire bathroom wet -dont forget to remove the toilet paper! Kind of annoying but we found this standard unless you are at a fancy hotel/resort where there are more western style showers- But good water pressure/hot water- excellent rooftop pool/showers/bathroom- We used on our last day and they held our bags for us for the day (20 baht/day) since we had a late departure out of Bangkok- Just outside of reception is a adorable coffee shop- some of the best i had in Bangkok- and delicious breakfast sandwiches/fruit- 7-11 also right there for any other needs as well- If you are looking to stay on Khao San Road this is absolutely the place!!! 100% recommended

This was my first stay at the SSIP Boutique Hotel and apart from some very minor issues this is a superb hotel to stay at. The staff get 10/10 and could not have been more friendly or helpful over the years ive stayed at a lot of hotel and this has to be one of the best for staff Location is excellent a 10 minute walk from the river ferry allowing you to travel easily around Bangkok and taxis past by the hotel all the time. I found the Taxis to be very reasonable indeed however i only metered ones. I found my room to be fairly large and well presented in a Thai style clean daily and overall excellent however there are no tea of coffee making facilities in the room but this is offer down stair free 24 hours a day so i did not see this as a issue. There was a safe despot box in room as well as a fridge and two bottle of water was offered also as complimentary. There are a fair number of good places to eat near to the hotel. i found only 2 very minor issues at this hotel

Pros: door man does an excellent job and always with a smile. Thrust worthy taxi service Pleasant cleaning and front desk staff Pool is open .. lovely pool side and bar Cons: not a fault of the hotel: there are conmen at the street corner that tell new guests that they will help you with tickets for day trips and will take you to the ministry of tourism’s office. Rather they take you to a place where you pay several times the cost. It would be great assistance for Newley arrived guests to be cautioned.

Nicely located if you wanna stay near Khao Shan Road. It's surprisingly quiet despite that it's near a night life center. But if you prefer the modern part of the city, I wouldn't recommend the location, as you need to take a cab from metro station to get there. The facility is fine, but nothing is impressive. The entrance is the best part that catches your eye. The corridors have nice ambiance, but the bed and the room is short of quality compared to 4-star hotels at similar price range in Bangkok. They didn't even provide toilet paper on first day, which is another minus. Staffs are nice and there is security guy at the front door.

hotel de moc is in a quiet leafy location,set back from the main street so it's a great place to rest after a hot day's sightseeing. there is also a lovely outdoor pool,deckside chairs and massage centre for relaxing. complimentary tuktuk service to nearby khaosan road although i enjoyed the short walk there past canal houses,gorgeous temple across the road,street sellers and seeing daily bangkok life. the hotel staff were always professional, friendly and helpful with calling for tuktuk,taxis, and finally my shuttle bus back to airport for only! restaurant breakfast and dinner menu was delicious, great fruit smoothies; though of course there are many cheap-eats outside everywhere. around the corner is the best 'old-school' cafe/tea house where you can join locals for sweet iced coffee,a pot of tea or even egg-y breakfasts.

We booked last minute after accidentally booking a hotel in the outskirts of Bangkok. We ended up accidentally booking twice online. The staff was very helpful and took care of it. Rooms are nice. The hotel is ideally situated for people looking to do sightseeing. The Grand Palace and various temples are within walking distance (or a cheap Tuk Tuk ride). If you're looking for night life, you may wish to book a hotel in another district. That said, nightlife is easily accessible by taxi. The only drawback of the hotel is that it doesn't have an in-house restaurant. That said, there are several near by.

This is the second time i have stayed here and i love it! The staff are friendly and helpful, they also speak some English which is really helpful. It is a great location and also near to the sky train. Nothing is too much trouble for the Hotel Solo they go out of their way to give you a warm but professional welcome! The rooftop swimming pool is divine, there are great city views at night from the rooftop bar and they have a happy hour!! :) i left this hotel feeling rested, you wouldn't believe you were in the middle of a hectic city,,it is right on the doorstep of all the activity yet tucked down a street from the main road. They also provide a free shuttle to the top of the street! they look after your luggage after you check out of your room if you are not departing until later and they do all of this with minimum fuss and a smile on their faces. The food is also really nice but the hotel is close to lots of shops bars and restaurants should you wish to explore the area! The best value for money of any hotel i have stayed ! They have thought of everything and they manage to pull this off for a reasonable price. Fantastic!

I hate to give a positive review because more people will stay here. Best mattresses I've found on Khao San road. The secret is out. The pool is nice. Breakfast is across the street at Dang Derm. make sure you get your tickets at the front desk in the morning . Ask for wifi password before you leave the front desk or you'll be back down in the lobby. Stand in the right line when checking in else you'll be trying to check into D&D inn. Don't act like arrogant Eurotrash when you're checking in. we know you've had a long flight, your mosquito bites are itchy and your butt is sore. Realize these employees have to deal with 100s of people everyday. Being pleasant will get you much further than not. Don't deal with the Indian tailor right outside the door. His name is David and he is a thief and his clothes are inferior.

We have been pleasantly surprised by the Trang Hotel. The staff is nice, including the cleaning ladies. They always smile. We booked the superior room, but have been upgraded to premium superior. The price through Agoda is very good value for money. A big and deep swimming, with barely anyone inside. We swam many times alone. The breakfast is included, there are asian food (rice and noodles) and continental food (bread, jam, butter, ham, sausage, eggs), there are also orange juice (not that great) and tea and coffee. It is not super good food, but correct enough to give you a boost at the start of the day. The premium superior rooms have balcony with view on the garden, so quiet during the night. We can hear the people having breakfast in the morning, but not annoying. The other rooms have view i believe outside, but not sure. Flat TV screen with USB plug, if you fancy a film. Nice bathroom with hot shower. Plenty of storage. I haven't seen the standard nor the superior rooms, but i would recommend the premiums. We feel at home ! The wifi works well too, and you can even work on your laptop near the swimming pool The Khao San road (tourists road) is 10 min walk, and there are buses which goes straight to Hualamphong train station. Shame there is no BTS or MRT station nearby, but if you are 2 or more, it is worth to take the taxi cost wise anyway. So glad with this hotel that we will come back next week but this time with my parents-in-law and I will update their opinion on Agoda

Only 30seconds to wat bowonniet to do pindapatta to about 100 Bhante Sangha. Khaosan road only 2-4minutes walk. Food & shopping are all around within seconds! Recommended for those don’t mind to sleep at crowd music / bass sound until 2 am midnight. Almost Everything can be found here and pretty affordable cheap price. One same road with Ibis 4 or 5 star hotel. Just opposite of it. Might think of coming back again. If there is no more other better alternative hotel though 😁

let me store my excess baggage when i left for 2 weeks and didn’t charge even though i had agreed to. took care of my booking to Cambodia with no pressure for upgrades or the sale at all , unlike competitors. in fact i wish they booked my train/ boat to Koh Tao as the agent i did book with didn’t reimburse when the transportation from train did not show up at 2 am and the boat was scheduled for 6 am. i had to book a hotel and miss my boat then buy additional boat tickets and taxi to pier. when i got no compensation as agreed upon i knew i would only book from villa cha cha next time. and i did.

Easy going place with decent access to tourist sites. Taxis and tuk tuks ever present at curb, but also close to boat shuttles and local buses. Multiple food options ( at Siam II or Siam I across the street). Alley connects to Soi Ram Buttri road which has lots of food, bar, tourist market options. And of course they have a pool, which you need whether you know it or not. Only mark against them: emailed them reminding them we would be arriving around 4:30am, and asked about best transport from airport of special directions for taxi driver given the late hour. They never responded and when we arrived it was clear they thought we were not coming. It did not cause a problem for us, but it would have been nice to get some feedback from them about getting to their place in the middle of the night. That said, I would definitely stay there again, and plan on it when we go back to Bangkok later in our trip.

totally clean..friendly & helpfull staffs(all of them that i met). a little problem when i arrive at 11 PM and they can't find my booking number..still wondering how could my booking not listed. luckily i saw my name on their booking file (in a clear holder)! but anyway, staff on duty was really really helpful. We can find street food nearby by walkng 5min, grand palace & watpho can be reached just about 10min by taxi or tuktuk. location is quite easy to find. Golden mount temple just 15min walking (and it is a beautiful temple!) the only thing i can complain from this hotel is no slippers at room. overall, it was a really nice stay and worth it!

I stayed at this hotel last May 13 to May 17, 2018. I arrived late around 1:30 am, check in was smooth but I was placed in the 4th floor even I requested a lower floor cause of my surgery on my knee. I was told that all the rooms were booked and they would move me the following. The following day I met Magali, I guess she was the owner and she moved me to the 2nd level. She was very thoughful and help me how to get around Bangkok. Her customer service was exceptional where she even surprised me with a cake during my birthday which was greatly appreciated. I was very pleased of my stay at Khaosan Art Hotel and I would very much recommend this place. Only cons is bed is a little bid hard, other than that it was a wonderful stay. I also missed their Pizza, I heard they have the best pizza in town.

Was traveling with my significant other and we absolutely loved the hotel! The location is great! It’s right by the democracy monument so giving directions when taking a tuk-tuk or cab was easy, Khao San road and the golden mountain are just a few blocks away, and we quickly learned our was around the area. The staff was incredibly friendly and did a wonderful job of making us feel welcomed. Everything was kept very clean and the housekeepers came by daily to tidy up our room, empty the trash bins, and give us fresh towels. They stocked the room with toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, body wash, q-tips, and more! Our room also had a mini fridge which was very convenient and we used it to keep our many bottles of water cold. We also loved that we could easily control the temperature in our room with a very nice air conditioning system. The only reason it doesn’t get a 5 Star for facilities is because there are a few minor inconveniences, but nothing big enough to ruin our stay! The main inconvenience was the fact that the toilet is extremely close to the sink. I am 5’6 and my boyfriend is 6’0 and we were hitting our knees on the sink every rim we had to go to the bathroom.
