Hotels near Monkey Forest Ubud

My husband and I travel to Bali quite often, where there are plenty of resorts, and rustic villas and hotels, so you can imagine our surprise when we stayed with Bisma8. With an excellent location, right off Ubud Central, you've got easy access to major spots (Monkey Forest, Champuhan Ridge Walk etc.) and of course access to Folk Pool and Gardens with a discount thrown in for hotel guests - a wonderful privilege in between shopping and if you're in need of a dip to cool off from the heat. Overall, the hotel and our forest suite room was well designed, stylish and caters to an experienced traveller/couple with refined tastes. Not the best for families, although we did have a family with kids hanging by the pool which could be slightly disruptive as the pool is small and more for adults looking to relax. Amazing stay and the Bali hospitality is always 5-star. Only downside was we hoped there would be a hotel spa but the spa across the street was just as good and bang for buck!

Ubud Village is an excellent place to stay with clean room, nice breakfast with limited menu and the most important is the location. Within walkable distance you have Monkey Forest, Ubud market, Ubud Palace, Saraswati Temple and most of the traditional events like dances etc. happens in nearby places. The hotel is value for money and Ubud is the best place in Bali if you are a nature lover & want to experience the local Tradition/ Culture. They also have in-house 24 Hr resturant & lot of other options nearby. This is a must recommended place.

Great location, super breakfast included in the deal we booked in a 2 bedroom luxurious apartment in a group of thatched houses overlooking forest. The reviews swung this stay for us and it was worth it. It's a 10 min bus ride to Ubud but the was perfect as free buses laid on by hotel. Lots to see in Ubud and nice to get back to the hotel for some R&R. View from the Plunge pool perfect if you want privacy away from the shared pool.brand new hotel with an experienced team.

Wow, I had no idea what I was getting into booking this hotel. To be honest I booked it because I got a room 70% off from Agoda! When I arrived my jaw dropped to the floor, it was exquisite! The neighborhood is a real local area where you can observe a bit of Bali life, it's beautiful! The hotel itself is like something from a magazine, simply stunning. I had a facial in their incredible spa made from plants and herbs indigenous to the area - nice touch! The highlight was the two-person outdoor bathtub (with color changing lights!) that that we had filled with a mix of lemons, lime, ginger, lemongrass and fragrant oils, best bathtub ever. It's about a 20 minute drive from central Ubud but they have transport available. Personally I thought it was nice to be removed from all the shopping and people and traffic. You could actually hear the sounds of nature and the nearby river Also - this hotel is vegan, no alcohol and no caffeine FYI

We stayed 2 nights at the Ulun Ubud Hotel and we really enjoyed our stay. We had a junior suit and the view from our room was amazing! The staff was very friendly and let us feel like we were at home. The room was clean and cozy. The breakfast was in our opinion to less for a 5* hotel. My girlfriend is a vegan and she had problems to find something to eat in the morning. The portions were pretty small to. But all in all it was a nice stay.

Because The Anumana Ubud Hotel still new, opening in Mei 2015 so it's inevitable that there's still a sound for finishing, but it’s not to bother for me. Overall I like to stay at The Anumana Ubud Hotel, it’s so relaxing, clean, comfortable and amazing so I would like to go back again. All the staff very friendly and so welcome to us, they always ask about their service. The hotel are located in walking distance to Bebek Bengil Restaurant and Monkey Forest. We stay for 3 nights (with 3 kind different rooms, Superior Lagoon View, Deluxe Lagoon View, Superior Lagoon Access) at The Anumana Ubud Hotel. The room ambience is so calmy and is big enough for me, but the shower it's a bit tricky, first at Superior Lagoon View the water sinkhole not so smooth to absorb the water so I have to take it off the cover, and the shower at Deluxe Lagoon View, the soap, shampoo all places in pot at the washing stand so it's a bit troublesome to use them. Love the lazily couch in balcony at Deluxe Lagoon View. But what I like the most are Superior Lagoon Access, it's in Ground floor with acces (stair) directly to the pool. Love the pool, the water and the design. My disappointment are the picture in TV not to good (maybe because the signal reception not so good) and the channel is to short. And the breakfast, because The Anumana Ubud Hotel still new so there's no Buffet, and they gave us breakfast menu but we can only order it once after that they will charges your order.

Friendly staff, the best part of the hotel would be its location. It is very close to many of the attractions you may wish to visit in Ubud, including Monkey Forest, Ubud Cultural Market, Ubud Palace and it is located just among 2 rows of local shops where convenience stores, clothing shops, travel operations, money changers, restaurants and massage parlours are all around. There are also popular restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, including Ibu Oka (famous for Babi Guling), Three Monkey Cafe, Cafe Luna and Pomegranate. There is also complimentary tea available in the late afternoon, with hot drinks and a dessert of the day. This is certainly a hotel I would revisit again as it is cheap and accessible to most things!

Had a nice stay in this hotel in Ubud. The hotel is fairly new and facilities are well maintained. The staff are very friendly and attentive here. The only small downside is that you need to walk ten mins to get to Ubud market if you want to find any restaurant or bars. Although I had a bike which I rented from right opposite the hotel, so it wasn't much of a problem for me. The hotel also has shuttle services to take you to and from downtown Ubud. Would recommend this hotel to fellow travelers looking to stay near Ubud market or Monkey Forest.

This place was a beautiful home away from home. All the staff were incredibly kind and could not do enough for you. The Rooms are very clean and beautifully designed. The breakfast is of good quality and their menu has a fantastic mix of local and western options for you to choose from. The staff at the front desk were able to provide us with local knowledge, arrange tours and daily transportation. I highly recommend a lovely guy called Wayan Esa. He is a local driver in Ubud and was very kind to us during our stay. If you need a good/ safe and knowledgeable driver this is your guy! +6285831551558 The hotel is about 5 minutes away from Ubud town centre but the hotel provides a free shuttle buss into the town. I enjoyed my stay so much that I have rebooked to return later this year.

This villa was the highlight of my trip in Bali. The complex is newly built with amazing views of the rice terrace and huge private swimming pool, the outdoor bathroom was a nice touch also. I highly recommend this villa to anyone staying in Ubud it is honestly a hidden gem!! The price is cheap for the service and amazing villa you get. Breakfast is included which they bring from a local restaurant and its so delicious, room service food was also well prepared. The staff are extremely friendly, we asked for some bug spray and the concierge sprayed our room, their is a portable wifi in the room which we found so handy during our day trips - we had wifi everywhere we went. The hotel were a great help in managing all our transport services and recommended so many places to visit. In terms of location, this was perfect, travel to the main attractions in ubud were roughly 10-15 mins. Overall, i honestly loved this hotel and would 100% love to come back here again.

Service: absolutely 5 star. From the introduction we received from Rafa, to the personal butler that each guest is given, nothing is overlooked. We had purchased some paintings in Ubud and our butler took the initiative to have the gift shop wrap them so they would be safe for transport on the plane. It was nice to have the option to go to Ubud and do some shopping, which is just 15 minutes from the resort. There is no shuttle per se as they will just send a car to drop you off and pick you up. Be on time for pick ups though, because there is no place for the car to stop and wait, so we ended up missing our pick up and the hotel was nice enough to send us another car. Facilities: from the moment you walk into the property and look into the valley, it is absolutely breathtaking. It’s not a typical beach resort, as it overlooks the valley and the Ayung River. Besides a beautiful spa, a well appointed gym + yoga room, there is a main pool as well as different activities including learning to farm on the rice paddies. The property is large but walkable and for those who don’t want to walk there is buggy service. There is also a kids club which is open air so can get hot. It is more for younger kids as we saw a lot of arts & crafts type of activities. Food: we ate most meals at Sawah Terrace and the Pool Bar (same menu) – we were not able to get a reservation at Kubu (so book early). Food quality was excellent and breakfast was plentiful with a semi-buffet + a la carte. Rooms: All the suites are located in 4 blocks below the main building/entrance while the villas are spread around the rice paddies. We stayed on the first floor of block 5 in a Reserve Suite. It would have been nicer to stay on a higher floor to get a better view. Even though the Reserve Suite is the cheapest room option it was very large and there in fact was a lot of wasted space. The electronic toilet seat was a great addition except that it was very sensitive and everytime you walked

We loved our stay at Bali Spirit Hotel. The free shuttle service to Monkey Forest Rd allows you to have the choice to head into the "big smoke" of Ubud if you desire ... but if you're planning for a relaxed and quiet few days, this place is perfect. If you are out late, be prepared that the taxi services cease at 11pm on dot (if not earlier) so plan your nights accordingly. The roads are not well lit, as it's away from the main area of Ubud. It's a good 30 minute walk from Monkey Forest Rd, and the stray dogs are out and about at night (I learned that the hard way!). The only star missing for "facilities" is in regards to the restaurant. We found better (authentic Indonesian) food outside the main hotel. But again, that's a personal preference only. We were there for a wedding at a close-by resort, so didn't get to sample the day spa. My review is for location, room, facilities and service alone.

this resort is situated right on top of a hill side with restaurants nearby. accessing to nearby attractions of ubud palace, chempang walk, naughty nuri, monkey forest, ubud market, sari organik is within distance of minutes ride/drive. parking lot is provided, a nice quiet sanctuary. highly recommend. only downside was there is no gym. unsure if there is a shuttle service.

We enjoyed our stay at Lumbung that we already plan to stay there again on our next trip. The room was comfortable, staff was great, breakfast was delicious, and the location is perfect for exploring Ubud. You could walk to restaurants/bars, Monkey Forest, Ubud Market, and Temples. There is no need for any transportation unless you go outside Ubud. An added bonus was the fast internet and English tv selections. We recommend Three Monkeys and Lemonade for restaurants and Laughing Buddah and CP for drinks/music.

I love everything about this Villa except rhat i booked this in Agoda (thought Breakfast is free) but it wasnt but ita ok cos for rhe amount that i paid the price is really worthyhe value. In fact i only book a room but i was surprised its a 1 unit with ground floor- lanai, wardrobe, large skylight bathroom w shower & a bathtub (which i love) . At 2nd Floor is the Bedroom- i love the room with a balcony and a great view of the rice fields & the surroundings. It is Perfect. Calming & very relaxing to stay in there. Food is great, they have 3 different location of pools. Restaurant views are stunning. Thwy have 2 watung areas, one beside reception area - i love lounging it there coz u will have rhe vjew of their infinity pool + ricefields, the main kitchen/ restau is beside Bamboo houses with another infinity / Glass Pool in one side. I love eating my food thede coz at Ground Floor u wil have a view of the Pool+Ricefields but i love the view better at 2nd Floor. Trust me u will love it there. K would definitely recommend this place. Location is Great too as it is walking distance to Landmarks like Monkey Forest, Ubud Market and around 1-1.2km from Ubud Palace & Sarawasti Temple. You can alao have a free ride from hotel to Central Area in Ubud but only 1-way, it helps when u are 1st timer in Ubud as riding taxi is expensive. I would recomment take Grab / Go Jek - BIKE instead of Car as its more cheaper when u dont want / dont know to drive while exploring the area. BTW, i missed their Free Whole Body Massage, i regret i disnt schedule it earlier coz they have lots of customers ... And the Views are great...I would love to try and book again when im back in there.

Me and my wife stayed there for 2 nights, and we got the deluxe room with paddy field view right from the room, which is quite beautiful. The hotel is situated in the busy street of Monkey Forest street, but our room is about 75 meters away from the lobby and right beside a paddy field, so we were definitely away from the noise. We saw ducks on the afternoon and a calf running on the field in the morning. Although maybe the paddy fields are not as beautiful as in Jalan Bisma, but I think it's relaxing enough. The deluxe room is simple yet beautiful (you can see the paddy field from the bed), but the bathroom is very simple and a bit uncreative I think. The hotel is walking distance from monkey forest, ubud art market, and ubud palace, so it's convenient for shopping or sightseeing around the center of ubud.

i had the most amazing time in ubud & suly resort. the hotel is great value for money, i felt like living in paradise. the best thing for me was connecting to the hospitality students that work in the resort. it felt like living among locals and was very special for me. the buildings are very old which gives the place character. it is surrounded by beautifully kept gardens. the rooms are very clean, but be aware that because of the age of the place, there are holes in the walls and i had mice in my room. it was a fun mission for me and the students to chase them away, so i saw it as an adventure. the pool has loose tiles, so it might not be very safe with small children, but despite of that it is a beautiful pool with clean water. i also really enjoyed doing the balinese cooking class and the temple offering class. they also offer yoga and other creative classes as well as spa in the resort. the spa is cheaper and better in other places though. i walked to the monkey forest twice, it took me about 20-30 minutes. but the free shuttle bus or any other cheap transport which is offered everywhere makes it an easy and convenient place to get to while still being outside the hustle & bustle of the town.

I have been traveling throughout counties around the world, and Champlung Sari Hotel has been one of my most memorable hotels. The rooms are nice and spacious, and the staff is very accommodating. The appearance inside has a jungle temple feel to it, making the hotel itself feel like one of the many sights Ubud has to offer. The staff puts a lot of effort into the gardening and appearance of the hotel. One thing that sets Champlung Sari apart from every other hotel in Ubud is the location. It is across the street from the Monkey Forest, which means it also has many furry guests. You can sit and relax by the infinity pool, while watching baby monkeys wrestle and play just feet in front of you. Monkeys are literally everywhere around the two pool decks. They generally mind their own business and are not aggressive. If you have food or beverages out, they may however try to sneak up and grab it. The hotel has staff working around the clock that will chase the monkeys away if you ask them to. If you are traveling to Ubud, you will definitely not regret your decision if you book your stay at Champlung Sari Hotel.

When we arrived at Tjampuhan Hotel Bali it was already near mid-night. When we alight at the entrance we can not see the hotel till we checked in then we realised the lobby is on the hill top and we have to walk quite a distance with steps all the way to the lower level. We fell in love with the night surrounding ambiance, the air is so fresh and cooling. I do not recommand this hotel for the elderly and kids under seven to stay cause has to walk up & down the steps esp night time the light is not sufficient to glow on the steps. I also felt bad about having the staffs to carry our heavy laugages by walking all those steps down the hill when checked in and up the hill during checked out. Night time we felt abit boaring after 9pm when we returned to the hotel esp our 14 year old son has no tv to watch and not used to sleeping so early. I must say this hotel suits honey moon couple, or couples but not teenages. The location of this hotel is good with only 10mins walk to the market where you can do shopping, have food there. Also there is one thing that I dont see anyone mentioned is, it is also quite near the monkey forest attraction, I only noticed it when we took a taxi in our last day to browse around the place and had our lunch at a duck restaurant and come to realise actually the street to monky forest attraction area is at the junction of the market place. The area near monkey forest is more crowded at night that we have missed, if we would have gone there we will not be home so early and my son may not feel board after late night and all the walking, he will just jump into the bed and sleep. The breakfast in the hotel is simple and just nice for someone who does not take heavy breakfast. The spa is the best feature of the hotel, we took the spa package BUT please dont do it on the raining day. We took the spa just before the rain started falling and we were all freezed to death with our naked body laying on the bed with only a cloth over body just to wait half

Our stay in Sapodilla was EXCELLENT. It's literally the best hotel we've ever stayed in! The room was spacious, the bathroom was wonderful with a nice shower and a huge tub, the service was exceptional. They provide free shuttle to anywhere in Ubud area, which then you'll be given a phone to contact the driver to pick you up (bener2 dianter jemput kemana aja, even to convenience store). Strategic location (walking distance ke Monkey Forest, deket ke pasar Ubud dan tempat2 makan tp ga berisik juga). Poin plusnya lg, mereka ngga ada biaya untuk tambahan org (extra guest is free of charge) as long as we don't use the extra bed. The staffs were really really helpful and friendly, they kindly informed us that our car had a flat tire and immediately helped us to took care of it before we checked out. The manager personally thanked us for staying and along with the staffs, they send us off after making sure everything is okay. SUPER RECOMMENDED! & we will definitely come back to stay longer! My friend and I stayed at Anhera for two nights (I wish it was longer) at the end of Feb and I absolutely loved it! All the rooms overlook a beautiful rainforest which is just mesmerising and so peaceful to look at. There are two infinity pools, one at the top and one at the bottom - the one at the bottom was my favourite because it literally drops off into the greenery below and was perfect for an afternoon swim overlooking the sunset after a long hot day exploring. The location was awesome, as you can walk to the town centre in about 10-15 minutes, or cabs are very cheap if you don't feel like walking and even though the hotel is right off the main road, the rooms are very quiet! The staff went above and beyond and made us feel extremely welcome from the minute we walked in. We ended up going on a private tour with the hotel manager - definitely ask the hotel staff about going on a private tour with them because it was very worthwhile! And to top it off, Agoda gave us a wonderful discount on the room which was an added bonus. We had a great stay here and I would definitely stay here again the next time I visit Ubud! Sooooo, do yourself a favour and stay at Anhera :)

We stop to Ubud Tripical Garden for one night from Gilli Air before to go to Jimbaran. Our time here was perfect : beautiful and clean place. Very kind staff always smilling (but the same in all indonesia). A beautiful swimmingpool and amazing vegetation around (rice field). Ubud tropical garden is in Monkey forest street (2 min walking from monkey temple and 4 min walking from center, restaurants and shops). It's was perfect for us just for one night ! Before to leave (end of the day), the staff keep our lugages and we can enjoy swimming before to join our driver. Breakfast was simple but perfect (all we need : american, indonesian or continental). We recommand this place off course.

We booked the hotel through Agoda, the description said 2 single AND 1 king size. Once we arrived it transpired that the 'and' should have said 'or' and we had a king size plus a mattress on the floor. The reason we paid more compared to other hotels was because we thought we had enough beds for 3 people. The staff were not entirely helpful re this and it seemed to be because we had the room cheaply through Agoda. Having said this I contacted Agoda and they refunded the cost for the extra person. And the hotel was lovely! The staff were very friendly following this and helpful. The resort itself is beautiful. Approx 10 min walk to the monkey forest.

Really enjoyed my stay at Sri Ratih -- hotel grounds and facilities are well maintained and staff are so accommodating and well trained. They answered my inquiries quickly and were easy to coordinate with. Rooms were spotless and beds super comfortable. Breakfast is served a la carte (not buffet style) with a really good selection and big enough serving size. There are also cafes near this hotel, which was a plus. Only con was that it's a bit of a walk to Ubud center, around 15 mins to get to Ubud Palace/Ubud Art Market and 25 min walk to the Monkey Forest. Also, it was rainy when we went, and there was a construction going on to fix a landslide that happened recently -- which we had to pass every time we would walk to the center. However, the hotel offers a scheduled shuttle service (10 am and around 2 pm if i'm not mistaken). Overall, this was a really good, bang for your buck find in Ubud and I would definitely recommend 100%! :)

I stayed at Adiwana Arya for a week and it was absolutely amazing! The ground is beautiful and serene and away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud which is what I love. The room was spacious and I loved the Balinese architecture. The best thing about this place though is the staff. They were kind, friendly, and offered the warmest service. Each and every one of them were exceptionally nice! Special thanks to Front Desk Butlers Rai and Arya who made sure I was well taken care of everyday! Will definitely stay here again!

Our stay at Aria Villas was everything I'd hoped, a beautiful serene jungle setting yet only a minutes walk from the centre of bustling Ubud. The staff were all freiendly, cheery and always helpful, whatever the request. They went the extra mile when we requested a very late check out and although our villa was already booked they allowed to move to an empty villa until our departure time in the late afternoon. The villas are stylish, clean and comfortable and the pools have the most amazing aspect facing the jungle. I just loved the outdoor shower and bath. We had the privilege of sharing our pool with groups of birds that came to bath in the shallows each day. Each morning having a tasty breakfast (they adapted it for our vegan dietary requirements with no bother) served outside listening to the bird and insect calls was a wonderful start to the day. I booked one in villa 90 minute body massage that was carried out by a lovely friendly, professional masseuse. The best massage I had while in Bali. The extra touches such as a welcome back massage on arrival, poppicles delivered to the villa each steamy afternoon and a bottle of elixir (like something out of Alice in Wonderland) appearing in our villa every evening during turndown perfected the stay there. I would recommend Aria Villas to anyone looking for a peaceful, calm chilled out setting to get into the Bali vibe and want to really feel like they are in the steamy jungle of the Bali hills.
